Integrating DropDown menu of flash with director

Hi everyone,
I have a movie wherein i am using small flash movies as
component for better UI effect. Also we are using other component
like drop down, text boxes and radio buttons developed in flash.
But the controls that we have in flash are causing problems
like I have a drop down menu developed in flash. I want to
use it director to give me drop down effect and also features to
add item to it. It was working fine with bitmaps earlier but
considering the scaling issue we moved to Flash. I could easily
attach beheviour to bitmaps. But the same is not working with Flash
(.swf) file.
This is what I am doing....
Dragging the dropdrop.swf file in director's cast and then
attaching Beheviour to it for drop down
I Think it is does not support Flash files so If there is any
work around this then please let me know. Also suggest if i am
heading in the right direction.
Any sort of help will be appretiated.

Interactivity with dropdown menu

Hi,
I need dropdown menu for my project. I know Captivate is
giving dropdown menu if i use project>Skin but its skin is not
matching with my project interface also it is not letting me to
customized it.
If i make the dropdown menu in flash and import the .swf in
captivate, is it possible to give interactivity to flash
dropdownmenu to the captivate slides and if yes how to do it?

In most cases you would create this the same way that you
would any other kind of interactive simulation.
You start by capturing your screens using either the training
simulation or assessment simulation recording mode. Captivate would
then add click boxes to the dropdown menu and radio button when you
click on these items in the application you are capturing your
screens from.
That way once you finish your screen capture session you
would end up with a slide that shows for example the radio button
in its default state and another slide with the radio button
selected. Same goes for the dropdown menu.
If this isn't what you require then please provide us with
some more details so that you can advise you better.

Horizontal Dropdown Menu Buttons DON'T WORK

Any suggestions please?!
I am a novice Flash Developer and I created a horizontal
drowndown menu in Flash with rollover submenus. The dropdown menu
has buttons with Behaviors assigned to "go to webpage". The
published .swf file works fine, links and all. It is only when I
place the menu inside a Dreamweaver DIV that exists over another
image DIV that the buttons don't work. The menu will drop down and
can be rolled over, but it is when I try to click on the buttons to
activate the links that nothing functions.
It is worth mentioning that the buttons have an assigned "Down"
state that doesn't activtate, so I know the buttons are incapable
of even being clicked on. The problem is within Dreamweaver,
not the flash movie menu. Perhaps I am overlooking a widely know
trick to making this work? Am I missing a simple line of HTML??
Anybody have any experience with this?

Help needed for as3 dropdown menu and html

First of all hello! I have to create a html website for a company. The design i've made is in photoshop ....and i have to create a dropdown menu. The first question is : Can i create the dropdown menu in flash without having to use html frames? Can i link one of the buttons of the menu in a html page so that it loads in the same browser window another html page (if so .... with what function?)? Please ... i need to know ... because i simply prefer to implement it in flash rather then html. And the second big question is : Can the stage in flash be transparent? Because if i make the menu in it, it will be impossible to match any dimensions of the stage .... and i would like to embed it into a html page...if possible without the stage color >..... For opening pages you want to look into using the navigateToURL() function. The help documentation provides information abiout it an how to control the window aspect as well.
To make the stage transparent is more of an html aspect than a Flash aspect, though you can set it up to publish that way. The key is to set the wmode paraemter that is in the html embedding code to "transparent". I am not sure if all browsers supports this feature, but I think more are willing to.

Can the dropdown menu color be changed?

I can't seem to find a way to change the dropdown menu color. With the new user interface options of black or charcoal grey, the dropdown menu looks out of place being white.

Hello, there is no functionality to do that. It is a good suggeston, but it might be a setting controlled by the operating system.

How can I clear the GL CS Actions dropdown menu?

I know I shouldn't even be using GoLive now that Adobe no longer supports it, but it's all I know (and love) and it's a fabulous app for those of us who are visually oriented rather than code-oriented. I use both CS and CS2, but some sites I've done are in CS and I haven't had the time (or guts) to move the larger sites over to CS2 (I've found that sometimes the translation from CS to CS2 isn't so good). That said, I am having a problem with the Actions menu in CS...it seems that, when I click the dropdown arrow to choose an action, the dropdown menu is populated with the same item over and over and over again. I seem to recall that there's a way to clear and reset this menu. Does anyone recall how to do this? I am on a Mac, Leopard 10.5.8. (Yes, both versions of GL are quirky under Leopard, but I have to deal with it!)

There is a little circle button in the upper right corner. Under that button you can hit reset actions.

How to create a dropdown menu with sub buttons that link back to the labels on click.

im trying to create a dropdown menu buttons that when you rollover to the top central button the button it opens up like a drop down menu would containg two other subsectional buttons. This makes the sub sectional buttons seperate from the main stage making it difficult to simply give them a on click, sym.play("label") function.
the buttons work like this in symbols or sections stage/panel/homebutton inside home button is group dev containg another group dev containg the button which I need to link back to a "label" in the /panel/ symbol or section. Thank you very much.

Put the video with the first language on the timeline followed by the video with the second language. Use chapter markers so you can have each video as a chapter in the menu.

Also, I have another question: can I put videos from different projects in the same DVD with Premiere or must all of the videos that go into the DVD be in the same project?

Flash Video Under Dropdown Menu problem

I have been consistently affect by this problem for the last few days. I have a menu that needs to dropdown above the flash video. The problem is that the dropdown appears behind the flash and cannot be clicked. I have narrowed it down to some sort of implementation of the wmode="transparent" but this is not easy.

In internet explorer this code allows the flash file to be behind the menu. But not for Firefox (3.5) Unfortunately, when I add the required [CODE]<embed>[/CODE] tags to the object and make the flash video appear behind the firefox menu, the link in the video no longer works. Because there is a single link within the flash video we use.
PS. the code above was copied and tweak from a flash tutorial site. So I will not take the credit as my own.

Crystal reports with static list parameter : blank dropdown menu

Hi,
I've created a very simple report displaying customer order (ordr and rdr1)
it has :
parameter DocKey@ used in the selection formula    DocKey@=DocEntry
It also has another parameter : static list with 2 entries
      - 1 : normal presentation
      - 2 : proforma presentation
The user has to choose between option 1 or 2 before displaying the report
Using the report in the Crystal application is OK : i can choose between option 1 and 2 in a dropdown list
If i use the Addin Menu // preview in SAP : i can choose in the dropdown menu
If i import my report in SAP and i try to preview it : the dropdown menu is empty and i cannot select anything
Anyone has the same problem ?

I've tested with the last pl (18) and it works fine : no blank dropdown menu , i can select a value for my static parameter !

Z-index question with dropdown menu and swf file

I am currently using All Web Menus for the navigation of my
site. I want to switch to Pop Menu Magic. The All Web Menu works
fine with the swf file I have underneath it on my page but when I
put in the pop menu magic the dropdown part goes behind the swf
file. The z-index is still the same. Is there something else I
should be looking at?

Android – html with dropdown menu not working

I'm creating a digital pubblication fo android and I'm testing it on an Asus tablet.
I just have a big html widget showing a local web application. Everything works except a simple dropdown menu: when I tap on the button that should open the dropdown items, the button highlights itself, but the options don't appear.

but with this there's another problema (that the legacy one doesn't have): I have a simple form and the last text field appears beneath the keyboard.
with the legacy viewer each time I move the focus from a textfield to the next one, the text field moves upwards to be visible (and not hidden by the keyboard).

Hi,
You could try to create a list with as template Pull Down Menu.
Make sure that you create parent-child relations to get the pull down menu options.
It also depends on the theme you pick up.

IE 7 - CSS Issues with Spry dropdown Menu *HELP*

I am using a spry horizontal dropdown menu generated in DW. The menus look consistant in all other browsers except ie7 - When the drop down menu occurs they all appear to the right and not directly under its menu item.. Looked around in the Css and i cant seem to find the right rule to make the change in ie7 only... was planning on using a css conditional statement to shift them left.. But im not having any luck.. HELP!
