Integrating external sever with EBS

I am working on Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3 and Oc4j application server. we are in a process of integrating external sever to EBS which is running on different server and i refered the Ebiz software development kit for java and they mentioned that we need to first register the external application server with EBS. Below are the lines from the document.
java oracle.apps.fnd.security.AdminDesktop <apps user>/<apps pwd> \
CREATE \
NODE_NAME=<node name of the external application server> \
[IP_ADDRESS=<IP address of external application server>] \
DBC=<full name and path of existing standard dbc_file>
NODE_NAME=<node name of the external application server> \ - Do we have to specify my computername for this entry or anything else?
Help me out on this.

BI Publisher should use Oracle BI EE security Model once you have configured EBS to OBIEE integration.

Issue while integrating external LDAP with weblogic

Hi,
i am trying integrating external LDAP (OpenLdap) with weblogic 10.3. I created a provider and provided required credentials and able to see users and group of the LDAP into the weblogic console. I am also able to login in the weblogic console with the users available in the LDAP after assigning the admin role to the ldap group. But i when i see the user's property (by clicking on the user in the admin console) it only shows the tabs for General, Password and Group only. on the other hand if i see the users from DefaultAuthenticator, it shows the Attribute tab apart from the General, Password and Group.
Can anyone let me knwo how can we get the Attribute tab for the Ldap users.

Hi Ajay
By default Weblogic has READ ONLY adapters for any External Security Providers that are configured like any AD Providers. READ ONLY means, you can only read the data from the ldap but not modify it, hence may be its not showing the Attributes tag. For Default Authenticator, see the first paragraph note in Attributes tab, that says the same thing. NOW, may be WLS can atleast show Attributes in READ only format, but it needs some sort of mappings to be defined. Say on Weblogic side, we have like firstName, lastName which on any typical AD will be like sn (surname = lastname), givenname (firstname) etc etc. This mapping is tough to generalize.
One thing for sure is, from Weblogic you cannot modify or edit any attributes for any user in external AD. If you really want to get those attributes, you may need to use some javax.ldap apis or some 3rd party ready to use tools/apis. I remember Weblogic Portal has a facility to configure a xml file that defines attributes mapping and get all attributes for any user. But again thats in Weblogic Portal product and not part of weblogic server.
If you have any SOA Software, they have some utilities for the same.

Error while integrating OBIEE report with EBS using Rich Content Container

I am trying to integrate OBIEE report with EBS using Rich Content Container OAF functionality. I have followed the steps mentioned in oracle Note - Embedding Analytics in Oracle E-Business Suite [ID 974422.1]. When i run my page, the container region comes up with the error message - The requested URL /pls/ghrfpkd2/OracleSSWA.Execute was not found on this server. Can someone please help me with some documents on the steps to integrate OBIEE with EBS using Rich Content Container.

I'm getting the same error on WebSphere 6.1.5. Is there any solution for this?

Problem in integration of listener with EBS

When i run this *"java -Dapex.home=/apex -Dapex.images=<LOCATION_OF_Image>/image -Dapex.port=<port_no> -Dapex.erase -jar apex.war"*
Its working fine and I get a apex login page .
But the problem is that when I close the terminal all connection are lost and given error "The requested URL could not be retrieved"
How can i integrate listener with EBS .
I am using
APEX 4.1
Database 11.1.0.7
Application 12.1.3
I want to configure listener with EBS .When I start instance automatic start apex listener

But the problem is that when I close the terminal all connection are lost and given error "The requested URL could not be retrieved" That's not very surprising, as APEX Listener is running in Standalone Mode in your current scenario. If you close the terminal session that the JVM is running in you kill the JVM and hence APEX Listener.
You could use a tool like "nohup" to detach the process you start from your terminal session. But using the Standalone Mode for a (long running) production scenario is not recommended anyway, and...
I want to configure listener with EBS .When I start instance automatic start apex listener... obviously not your actual aim.
So, EBS shall be your target. Shoudn't be a huge problem, as EBS comes with an OC4J Container and OC4J is one of the Containers officially supported by APEX Listener. I'm not sure if your EBS already ships with the JDK version needed, but as soon as it runs at least 1.6.0_20 it should work.
As I've already replied to your question in {thread:id=1118604} there is a working approach described in {message:id=10069317}.
Did you try that one? If so and it didn't work out, could you please describe the problems you've encountered?

Integrating BI Apps with EBS R12 - Logging in as Administrator directly

Oracle E-Business Suite R12
Problem
I'm following Oracle Support Note +Integrating Oracle Business Intelligence Applications with Oracle E-Business Suite [ID 552735.1]+ to allow my EBS users to login into OBI Apps from the EBS instance. This is working and my EBS users can logon to the Dashboards and Answers through the documented menu links in EBS. However, the BI Presentation Administrator isn't a EBS user and cannot now login through the BI login URL http://<host>:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard. Instead there is a message:
+"You are not currently logged in to the Oracle BI Server."+
+"If you have already logged in, your connection might have timed out, or a communications or server error may have occurred."+
Is there a way to allow the BI Presentation Administrator to directly access the BI login page, once integration to EBS has been configured?

You need to edit you instancecofig.xml file , in the Auth tag make sure to add and after Externallogon enabled="true" and logonpageallowed="true"
the line should look like
<ExternalLogon enabled="true" logonPageAllowed="true">

Integration of BI with Oracle EBS R12

Hi friends,
Im in the process of integrating oracle BI 11g with the EBS R12, by following the saurabh gautam document.
I followed all the steps indeed in the document but it didnt worked as i can redirect to the BI 11g page soon after clicking the menu in the EBS R12, but the BI login page is appearing soon after that. Since i dont want that login page to ask and im looking for SSO with BI.
So, soon after clicking the menu it has to go the BI home page directly. I have followed all the steps in the document but none seemed to work.
I have followed the below steps in the EBS R12 application side.
<li>Function
<li>Menu
<li>Responsibility
<li>User
<li>Profile
And also setted up the change described in that document in the BI side too.
<li>the Connection Pool for Oracle e-Business Suite database
<li>Setting up Authentication
<li>OBIEE Configuration Changes
-----------Updating authenticationschemas.xml
-----------Updating instanceconfig.xml.
Finally i have restarted the BI server too. But while clicking the menu in EBS now it is redirecting to the BI login page instead of navigating to the BI home page.
What might be the issue friends, is im missing something in the document that i followed.

BIP WITH EBS

Hi,
I have a question regarding integrating BI Publisher with EBS. I followed all the steps as mention in the Oracle metalink but my question is where do we need to mention the BIP url. Lets say I have EBS Dev instance and I want to access BIP Reports in UAT instance thru EBS Dev. In this case what settings I need to make in the EBS. Its very urgent as we r in the process of integrating. I am using BIP 10g and EBS 11

Hi Tim, it does look like anything should work however I cannot get it working. The OPP fails with a Java error. This means I know that my short name is correct otherwise the template wouldn't fire at all after the conc program has finished. This is running under 11.5.9 EBS BIP 5.6.2.
Also have done plenty of work under BIP EBS so would think I should know the correct process by now(i hope)!!
I have access to a 5.6.3 version today so will try that out and post the actual error for you to look at. Like I said, the OPP fails and the conc program gets a warning.

Try replacing the .dll file with the one in your WINDOWS directory. I had that problem and I copied the .dll from C:/WINDOWS/system32 to overwrite the one located in the install directory.

Integration of Apex with Oracle Apps R12

How can I integrate Oracle Apex with Oracle Applications R12? The requirement is like by clicking a menu the user will see an apex report without giving again the user name and password. By simple menu attachment it's asking for apex login credentials. But I want it will redirect to the apex page without asking for user name and password.
Anyone please tell the step by step procedure of how to integrate apex with oracle apps R12.

From note:
DIP 10g latest version (10.1.4.3) and DIP 11g up to PS4 / 11.1.1.5 Patchset releases integrations are certified with MS AD 2008 R1 only.
DIP 11g certification with AD 2008 R2 is supported only with DIP 11g PS5 / 11.1.1.6 Patchset or higher.
Note: Although DIP below 11.1.1.6 integration (synchronization, external authentication, etc.) with MS Windows / AD 2008 R2 may work, it is not officially compatible / certified. See also Note 1076018.1.

User authentication when OBIEE is integrated with EBS

Hello guys
I have a conceptual question about how OBIEE authentication is performed in an integrated environment with EBS? If the goal is to have users access to OBIEE based on their roles given in EBS, what kind of authentication is it needed for such implementation?
Do I import users and group from EBS database or LDAP server (if its available)? what kind of session variable and ini block is created if I want to do data level secuirty based on user groups?
Please give some basic idea and guidelines on topic

Bi suite has 3 ways of making-having user-groups...
1.manual
2.ldap
3.from external database
