Integrating with external access control system

Hi,
I am new at the network but have read a lot recently about the above subject as much as I could. However, I am a bit mixed up at something. I understand in order to update SAP HR module with employees time and attendance logs I need to interface with a certified PDC interface => (SAP ECC - PLANT DATA COLLECTION - TIME & ATTENDANCE AND EMPLOYEE EXPENDITURES (HR-PDC)
I wish to develop a system that updates the the SAP HR with employee attendance logs. In addition I also wish enroll new employees into my access control system database by polling the SAP HR database.
Now my question is if I use .NET connector:
1. Does the connector it include functions that can help with the above requirements?
2. Is the use of PDC interface here still a must?
Thanks

For time management with the help of transaction pt80 you can download the information about employees with the help of idoc. And there are some programs a.k.a connectors that link access control systems and SAP so that you do not hire the same employee in the access control problem. You hire the employee in SAP and SAP sends the information (HR Minimaster DATA) to the related program.
It is also do the same thing for the employees who resign. I mean if an employee is fired or resigned from the company than it is sent to the related system.
These can be found under PDC integrated systems. You can find information about the systems from Ecohub. http://ecohub.sap.com/
I hope this answer will help.

  • SRM 7.0 for Public Sector integrated with FM (Budget Control System)

    Hello!
I'm starting an implementation project of ERP 6.0 and SRM 7.0 for Public Sector.
It would be necesary the integration not only SRM with ERP but with FM (Fund Management), with BCS (Budget Control System) specifically.
Is it possible? has anyone experience on it?
Thks so much in advance and best regards!
    Marcela.-

    Hi,
Certainly... If you have FM implemented in your project, you will have to make integration with SRM.
I did it some 3 years ago and it was quite problematic (a lot of notes were created by SAP on this matter, also as initiative from our project), but since then, I assume, it should not pose specific problems.

  • Integrating SAP HCM with third party Access Control System

    Hi Experts,
We have client using SAP HCM and intend procuring an Access Control Solution to manage her people.
What the client wants to avoid though is having to create a new employee in SAP HCM and manually creating same in the Access Control Software. Is there a way this can be automated such that upon recruitment of new staff, the data is updated in the Access Control DB which uses MS SQL? If this is possible, what is required to get this working well.
Thanks for your support in this regard.
    Regards

I am new to OBIEE and not familiar with Security part. We have one request from the client to have OBIEE Integration with Oracle Access Manager (OAM) through eternal identity management tool (OID/other LDAP).
I tried google and found some information, but non of them has Step-by-Step process.
Does anyone has document or know good portal which gives step by step information on how to Integrate OBIEE with OAM using external identity management tool?
Appreciate if you share the information.

  • Ask the Expert: C-Series Integration with Cisco Unified Computing System Manager

Welcome to the Cisco Support Community Ask the Expert conversation. This conversation is an opportunity to learn and ask questions about Cisco C-Series Integration with Cisco Unified Computing System® Manager (Cisco UCS® Manager) with Cisco experts Vishal Mehta and Manuel Velasco.
Cisco UCS C-Series Rack-Mount Servers are managed by the built-in standalone software, Cisco Integrated Management Controller (Cisco IMC). When a C-Series rack-mount server is integrated with Cisco UCS Manager, the IMC no longer manages the server. Instead you will manage the server using the Cisco UCS Manager GUI or Cisco UCS Manager command-line interface (CLI).
Cisco UCS Manager 2.2 provides three connectivity modes for Cisco UCS C-Series Rack-Mount Server management. The following are the connectivity modes:
Dual-wire management (shared LAN On Motherboard [LOM]): Shared LOM ports on the rack server are used exclusively for carrying management traffic.A separate cable connected to one of the ports on the Payment Card Industry Express (PCIe) card carries the data traffic.
SingleConnect (Sideband): Using Network Controller Sideband Interface (NC-SI), the Cisco UCS Virtual Interface Card 1225 (VIC1225) connects one cable that can carry both data and management traffic.
Direct Connect Mode: Cisco UCS Manager Version 2.2 introduces an additional rack server management mode using direct connection to the Fabric Interconnect.

    Hello Sebastian,
The different modes of connecting C-Series with UCSM come into play depending on the type of infrastructure you already have along with C-Series and NIC model.
Cisco UCS C-Series Rack-Mount Servers are managed by the built-in standalone software, Cisco Integrated Management Controller (CIMC) .
Powerful features provided by Cisco UCS Manager can be leveraged to manage C-Series server by integrating  C-Series Rack-Mount Server with UCSM.
This not only gives you rich-feature set but also one management plane to operate UCS-B Series Chassis and UCS-C Series Rack Server.
You will manage the server using the Cisco UCS Manager GUI or Cisco UCS Manager CLI.
Cisco UCS Manager 2.2 provides three connectivity modes for Cisco UCS C-Series Rack-Mount Server management.
The following are the connectivity modes:
    •  Dual-wire Management (Shared LOM):
Shared LAN on Motherboard (LOM) ports on the rack server are used exclusively for carrying management traffic. A separate cable connected to one of the ports on the PCIe card carries the data traffic. Using two separate cables for managing data traffic and management traffic is also referred to as dual-wire management.

This mode is recommended when you have C-Server which does not  have or cannot support VIC 1225 card (such C-200 server)
    •  SingleConnect (Sideband):
Using Network Controller Sideband Interface (NC-SI), Cisco UCS VIC1225 Virtual Interface Card (VIC) connects one cable that can carry both data traffic and management traffic.
This feature is referred to as SingleConnect.

This most recommended Integration model when using FEX and VIC 1225 card
    •  Direct Connect Mode:
Cisco UCS Manager release version 2.2 introduces an additional rack server management mode using direct connection to the Fabric Interconnect.
This mode will eliminate the need for FEX module as Servers are directly plugged into the base ports of Fabric Interconnect

  • Workflow integration with external DMS system

    Hi,
What integration/control transfer possibilities exist between SAP Workflow and an external document management system (e.g. Hummingbird)? Would some sort of interface be necessary for the integration and what would the level of effort be more or less?
This is quite urgent and I would greatly appreciate your input.
    Regards
    Liza-Marie

    Hi Liza-Marie,
you can work at different levels:
    1) Integration of documents use in the SAP workflow can be stored in external DMS and linked to SAP transactions through SAP Archivelink; you'll probably need a Hummingbird interface certified archivelink
    2) If you want to integrate your SAP workflow with the workflow of the DMS (if any), you can practice as follows:
    a) From you DMS, you can raise events in the SAP system on which your SAP workflow would react (to start or resume) by making use of standard RFCs such as SWE_EVENT_CREATE; eventually you can expose it as web service, which will simplify the call
    b) From SAP worfklow, you can send mails, call external system commands (more rarely used) or call web services that would allow you external DMS to be triggered on
Details on all these techniques would be too huge to be described in a post, but this gives you an overview on how SAP Workflow can interact with external solutions.
    In summary to your question:
    1) Interface required YES - ARCHIVELINK CERTIFIED in case you want to store documents in external DSM that need to be connected to your SAP transactions
    2) Level of effort is depending on your scenario
    Rgds,
    Karim

  • CUP Future Integration with External Training System

Are there any plans to allow CUP to integrate with external training systems. We have a need for CUP to integrate with an external training system to obtain course completion information which would then be used in the approval process for requests associated with adding or updating roles. Thanks in advance.

I don't know of any specific enhancements for that requirement but I would raise this directly with SAP to check!
I'm sure you could use a work around by using qualification records to trigger the CUP webservices of a certain request type and  generate a workflow path for that specific approval mechanism.
    Cheers, Simon

  • Jdev support with PVCS Version control system

    Hi,
Is there any JDev plugin available for PVCS source control system.
We have to use PVCS version control system for our SOA composites. If there is no plugin available, what is the approach commonly used for these scenarios.
    Thanks for your response.

Which JDev version do you use?
AFAIK there is no extension for PVCS available for 11g (check http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/131167.xml).
Anyway if you have an external tool which lets you work with PVCS you can use it outside of jdev without a problem. Depending on the interface you might be able to do some kind of integration into jdev using the 'External Tools...' interface.

  • Configuring BO Mobile with external access

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to configure Business Objects Mobile in my company server (windows 2008) with an external access to it. I have two servers - master and client (hyper V). I installed BOBJI 4.0 server and BOXI client on master server and planning to have mobile server on hyper V. I have gone through the SAP documents on installation and deployment but confused on installing and configuring mobile server and accessibility both internally (wireless router) and externally (outside company network)
    1) Is it a better practice to have mobile sever on hyper v?
    2) Should i create a proxy server for the process? If on which one should be - master or client?
If anybody has done similar to this, can they share any documentation or best practices followed?
    Appreciate your earliest help.
    regards,
    Arun

    Hi Durga,
in intranet we will have HTTP it is working fine.
    in Internet HTTPS. issue occurs.
Previously we are using the mobile client version which less than 5.1 Release. we never had any issue with HTTP or HTTPS.
Today we have upgraded mobile client to 5.1.32. And issue started occurring.
we are not using any VPN to connect. our web url is enabled in internet to access the reports.
Note:we have verified the web url in the internet by connecting it from other system which is out of our network. There launchpad/CMS are working fine without having any issue with HTTPS.
    Only issue in Mobile Device.

  • Integration with Avalara Sales tax system

We want to integrate Avalara Sales tax system with Adobe business catalyst. Is there any SDK available for integrating the Avalara Sales tax with Adobe site catalyst shopping cart and payment gateways. What is the technology platform used for the SDK i.e JAVA, PHP, .NET etc. Please let us know so that we can start estimating the efforts and budget.

Sadly, you can't integrate an external tax calculation system such as
Avalara to retrieve the tax rates and apply them to an order in real time
when collecting the postcode in BC.

  • Siebel Integration with SUN Access Manager

    Hi Guys,
We are trying to integrate siebel with Sun access Manager.
I have gone thro the sun site but unable to find any documentation and policy agent to download.
Please guide me where can i find documenttaion and policy agent software download.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Mohit

There is no agent to integrate with Siebel directly. However it should be possible by using Sun web server or IIS agent. Here is an old document that may still apply.
    http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6901-10/Chapter.html#wp19548
There was more detailed integration document on Siebel web site. But it has been removed after Oracle acquisition (http://www.siebel.com/partners/portal/docs/integrationbriefs/siebel77_sjsam_tib.pdf)
    thanks,

  • How to integrate ADF with ADE Source control system?

We are going to set up a team with ADF developers and we're totally new to ADF environment. The developers will be working on individual and common Applications/ projects. We're planning to use ADE as our source control system. How do we set up Jdev/ADF environment so that we can use Oracle ADE source control system to sync up all the changes by the developers. any ideas and pointers to the documents are appreciated.
    Regards,
    Surya

Shay, I heard from many oracle employees saying that ADE works great with JDev. Why not outside of oracle like svn? As you know there are tons of complaints about svn & cvs. Thanks.

  • Integration with ERP and other systems

We have integrated iP Oracle with OEX and we are now trying to
integrate with BBP/SAP, Maconomy Procurement systems. Has anyone
tried to integrate OEX with other systems?

We are now running a project to integrate OEX with SAP R/3 4.6c (MM Module). Oracle recommendation includes semiautomatic process associated to the RFQ in SAP and P.O. placement in SAP.
This semiautomatic process is consequence of poor XML integration with some transaction on OEX in which the buyer needs to operate in both systems: SAP and OEX. Nevertheless we are trying to request the incorporation of this changes in OEX's new version.
Its a matter of time that ORACLE will understand that a full integration is needed to satisfy users; SAP has done it and most of ERP transactions can be taken to XML format through their product Business Connector (Original a Webmethods product bought by SAP).
