Integration for OM Object descriptions update

Object description for OM e.g. Org Unit, position were not being updated.
I placed value u201CXu201D in Semantic Abb of PLOGI-SPLIT and ran the RHINTE30 and it updated object descriptions for the selected PERNRS, tested fine in sandbox.
Now, when going back in sandbox trying to see the updated PERNRS in the table RHINTE30 through T-code SE16 and type HRHINTE30, it gives me an error that table does not exist in the dictionary.
Also, when I ran RHINTE30 report in the test mode for an updated PERNR, it does not show any PERNRS

RHINTE30 is not a table, it is a report, So if you want to see the text of Org. unit, you can check in pa20 or ppome transaction.
Short text can be find out in pp01 transaction.

Longer timeout setting for universe object descriptions popup tooltip

When building a report using the Java Report panel, if I hover my mouse over a universe object the description will appear in a popup tooltip-style box. However, the description only displays for five seconds, which is not enough time to read the whole description.
How can I make the popup tooltip display for 15 seconds?

The answer I got from Business Objects is that the timeout is part of the .jar file and cannot be changed.

Installing a New Language- Mass Updating Info Object Descriptions ?

We recently installed a new language in our BI 7 system (Patch 16). But the Active SAP delivered info objects (namespace 0nnnn...) did not 'inherit' the SAP provided translations into the new language.
I can update each info object one by one with descriptions in the new language.
I can use the translation utility (once I figure it out) to updated the descriptions.
I can activate standard business content which seems to contain the new language.
But I'm hoping for something easier and less intrusive. I'm hoping there is a hidden SAP program that merely adds the description in the new language to my existing info objects from the Standard Business Content, without any reverse engienering, redesign, and so forth.
Is anyone aware of anything like that ?

Here's the answer from our discussion with SAP.
There is a program RSDG_LANGUAGE_AFTER_IMPORT that you can run. This program replaces the object description texts in your active SAP Delivered objects with the text description from the Delivered version in the language that you just installed. Here are OSS notes that are relevant to this issue : OSS Note 562436 and 877049.
We executed this report using these criteria to replace default English descriptions with the business content descriptions in Polish for our implementation:

It worked rapidly (150 CPU seconds) and flawlessly. I will say that the program looks for and changes the desription of EVERY object that it can find, and there is no control over changing just query elements or info objects. So step carefully. We plan on running this program in each system (after unlocking) so that we do not have to transport every single standard content object through our development / tests / production environment.
Once you are finished with this, you will, of course, need to use the translation tools to translate your custom objects. I've personally found the BI 7 translation tools to be much easier to work with than the earlier versions, but that may simply be a symptom of our upgrade process (we just upgraded to BI 7 from BW 3.5)

Business Object XI 3.0 Integration for SAP Solutions

Hi all,
       I am new to Business Object XI 3.0 integration for SAP solutions, can anyone please help me with the basics for Business Objects XI 3.0, I will probably be doing an installation of the same at my organization very soon, can anyone please tell me how much time is it going to take for me to complete the installation, what are the prerequisites, what should be the starting step for the same. Any advice as to where am I suppose to be carefull, I would really appreciate the help.

As you are going for the new installation of Business Objects Enterprise XI R3 you can find all the prerequisites for the installation like the disk space and all other such requirement in the documents provided in the following link.
You can have the Business Objects documents from the following site.

- Click on Business Objects tab
- Select the product as Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.0 and it will list all the document under the respective product.
You can find all the prerequisites in the Business Objects Enterprise admin guide. And if you need to have BO and SAP work together in conjunction you need to have the Business Objects Integration Kit for SAP. Integration Kit provides the database drivers and other features for reporting off SAP.

Getting contacts updated in sync logs after pushing data for activity object

BAPI/FM Help Needed for PM Work Order Update and Notification create

Hi,
I am using BAPI - BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN to update the work order details and create notifications for the object list but i am getting errors in doing that.
IWO_BAPI 203 -Changing the execution factor in the BAPI is not supported
And i have to create notifications to each object in the object list. This BAPI is not supporting that.
So i used another BAPI BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CREATE to create notification and passed the order number , counter etc to it but in the order it is creating a new row for that equipment and linking the notification to it.
Need some help on these.

1. If you want a Notification mandatory to be created for Order using IW31 you can once make this happen by User Status in Order , i would suggest if you are doing implementation better Use Order Types which has got Notification integrated in it .
Check Order type PM05 in Ideas server you have PM05 Order with notification fields integrated , which created notification in Background when order is Created or released.
2.For Work Order B --> Notification A , Not Allowing I donot have any idea check whether is there any User exit from experts or ask ur Abaper

Grand prize - Sunil Abraham - "Bridge between Rational ClearCase version control and Business Object Enterprise"
This tool enables updating the location of report files on the BOE server from the ClearCase repository without using the web interface. The tool is a stand alone application developed in VB.NET using BusinessObjects Enterprise SDK and the ClearCase Automation Library (COM Interface). The user selects the ClearCase repository and the change set that needs to be updated on the BOE server. The tool queries BOE and returns the locations of the files to be updated. The user can then update the server location with the click of a button.

You cannot use query builder to update the object. You need to create a jsp page or java class and add the code to perform the action. The code should:
1. logon to enterprise
2. query for the objects to get InfoObjects.
3. loop through each object and update title using setTitle()
4. commit
5. logoff

Unable to install the "Maven Integration for Eclipse" plugin

I am having trouble trying to install the "Maven Integration for Eclipse" plugin.
The tab Installed list the plugin with an Install button activated.
Then when I click on Install, I get the following log:

Lock Objects
These types of objects are used for locking the access to database records in table. This mechanism is used to enforce data integrity that is two users cannot update the same data at the same time. With lock objects you can lock table-field or whole table.
In a system where many users can access the same data, it becomes necessary to control the access to the data. In R/3 system this access control is built-in on database tables. Developers can also lock objects over table records.
To lock an object you need to call standard functions, which are automatically generated while defining the lock object in ABAP/4 dictionary. This locking system is independent of the locking mechanism used by the R/3 system. This mechanism also defines LUW i.e. Logical Unit of Work. Whenever an object is locked, either by in built locking mechanism or by function modules, it creates corresponding entry in global system table i.e. table is locked. The system automatically releases the lock at the end of transaction. The LUW starts when a lock entry is created in the system table and ends when the lock is released.
Creating Lock Objects
Lock object is an aggregated dictionary object and can be defined by using the following steps:
o From initial data dictionary screen, enter the name for the object, Click Lock object radiobutton and then click on Create. The system displays a dialog box for Maintain Lock Objects screen
o Enter short text as usual and the name for primary table.

-Select Tables option
From this screen you can:
Select secondary tables, if any, linked by foreign key relationship.
Fields for the lock objects. This option allows you to select fields for objects (R/3 system allows locking up to record level). Lock object argument are not selected by user but are imposed by the system and includes all the primary keys for the table.
1) Exclusive lock: The locked data can only be displayed or edited by a single user. A request for another exclusive lock or for a shared lock is rejected.
2) Shared lock: More than one user can access the locked data at the same time in display mode. A request for another shared lock is accepted, even if it comes from another user. An exclusive lock is rejected.
3) Exclusive but not cumulative: Exclusive locks can be requested several times from the same transaction and are processed successively. In contrast, exclusive but not cumulative locks can be called only once from the same transaction. All other lock requests are rejected.
Also, last but not the least, locking the object is logical (locking with any enqueue ) .so, you have to use the lock object while trying to access from second program .

Use the below reports using Tcode SE38 or SA38
RHINTE00 u2013 Transfer PA Records To PD Positions. In another world, it creates the HRP1001 between P to S in the OM side of the world. When you view a record via IT0001, you see this person holds the position, however via HRP1001, that relationship isnu2019t so.
This loops through all employees in PA by looking at positions on infotype 0001. It checks the corresponding person to position relationship exists in PD (A008), if not it is created.
RHINTE10 u2013 Generates the required relevant tables. (T513 u2013 Jobs, T513S u2013 Jobs, T528B u2013 Positions, T528T u2013 Work Center, T527X u2013 Org Unit)
Generally, the program RHINTE20 will be used instead of this one. This program loops through the PD table HRP1000. For each job, position, work centre and organization unit, corresponding entry is created in the PA tables, which are shown above. Run this with evaluation path o_s_p, which runs through Org units, jobs and positions or find a suitable alternative if you wish to update work centers also. The main difference with this program as opposed to RHINTE20 is that this one has the option to delete items from the PA tables, which no longer exist in PD.
RHINTE20 u2013 checks for all objects for integration between PA and OM. This is a big one and will take awhile to run. What it does is look at table T513/T513T u2013 Jobs, T528/T528T u2013 Position, and T528X u2013 Org Unit. It will then compare it against the HRPxxxx table to find missing objects. If there are any missing objects, it will create the record.
This program loops through the PD table HRP1000. For each job, position, work centre and organization unit, corresponding entry is created in the PA tables, which are shown above. Run this with evaluation path o_s_p, which runs through Org units, jobs and positions or find a suitable alternative if you wish to update work centers also.
RHINTE30 u2013 Transfer OM to PA. This will create infotype 0001. If the conversion strategy is to have SAP auto inherit factor to kick in for IT0001, often time jobs and org unit are missing via IT0001 during the initial conversion load. RHINTE30 will find the relationship and push it through IT0001.
This will create an infotype 0001 record with correct entries for org unit, job, position and work centre by looking through the organization structure. It creates a batch job, which must be run via SM35.
RHINTE00 is to transfer data from PA to OM (not from OM to PA). For transferring data from OM to PA we use RHINTE30.
