Integration IFS-Workflow

I'm trying to implement the workflow-ifs integration sample described in the following Oracle Technical White Paper :

I created an IFS Agent based on the "IfsServer" class
It's working fine, I'm now able to write something in the log file when defined operations are made on IFS documents.
I'm now trying to initiate a Workflow process instead of writing in the log file.
The sample code given in the technical white paper uses methods (to exexute SQL statements) of the "S_LibrarySession" class
like "prepareStatement" or "prepareCall" that are not available from the "LibrarySession" class.
Unfortunately, the "GetSession()" method of "IfsServer" class return a "LibrarySession" object (and not S_LibrarySession)
Does anybody success in implementing that sample ?
Does somebody have a suggestion ?

The iFS Product Section on OTN includes a Technical Whitepaper on how to integrate workflow and iFS. OTN:Products->Oracle Internet File System.
I was wondering how we get iFS connected with workflow "the easy way".
Standard you get in workflow 2 examples of document management systems whereto you can connect but no iFS.
So I was wondering If anybody here already did this integration,
I guess I could start developing it myself but if sombody already did this and is
willing to share his/here experiences it's better for both parties.

Reports Integration with Workflow

Trying to follow the white paper on OTN Integrating Oracle Workflow with Oracle Reports. One of the steps is to edit the reports server config file. When I follow the step to uncomment the notification tag and add in my workflow manager username and password, the reports server will not come back up.
Has anyone successfully done this?

Hello,
2 Jar files are used by the "workflow notification" : fndctx.jar and wfapi.jar
Locate these files and copy them in $ORACLE_HOME\reports\jlib, then restart the reports server .

Document Management integration with Workflow

Hi anybody,
I have to setup a workflow using Oracle Databse Server 8.1.7, Oracle 9i Application Server 1.0.2.2.1 and Workflow 2.6 on Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
Trying to run the sample workflow

When I push the button "Send Document" to attach a document, the new browser window shows :
"The page cannot be found". The url is like this: http://orc9:7778/jbc/aol/Oasjbc?template=dm_create.htm ...
Does anyone know what is missing or wrong configured here?
Which Document Management software can be used together with Workflow in order to be able to attach documents to items?
Can Internet File System be used here?

The existing document management feature in Workflow is reserved for future use. If you want to use iFS and Oracle Workflow together, there is a technical whitepaper available on OTN. Navigate OTN:Products:Oracle Internet File System->Technical Information.

Integrating AE workflows in CC

Hi,
I am currently implementing CC and AE 5.2 and I was looking for some info on the integration between the 2. My client wishes to do yearly "full system" reviews using only CC 5.2. When it comes to mitigation, CC needs AE to trigger workflows, but I didnt find any information on what the functions in CC would trigger in AE.
For instance, when mitigating a risk on a user report, it is impossible to remove an access automatically or start a workflow for that matter. Anyone knows how to configure both modules to start a workflow when requested an access removal, AND, what kind of parameters are passed to AE to trigger an initiator, so a custom workflow can be developed for those specific situations...
- remove an access
- insert a mitigating control for a specified risk
- change risk

IFS & Workflow Example

Is anyone using iFS Agent's to call the Oracle Workflow API?
We would like to write an iFS agent to initiate a notification
workflow (through the Oracle API). Say when the status
attribute of a custom document changes.
Is this the best way to go or is Workflow a bit of overkill to
sending mail? We are having issues with the IfsTransport iFS
API and thought Workflow would be an alternative for our CMS
requirements.
Any suggestions of how to get started would be appreciated. An
example would be excellent!

If the type of workflow you need is as straight forward as you
describe Oracle Workflow is probably a bit of an overkill. I
would write an agent that initiate a notification when the
attributes changes if that's all the functionality you require.
We have written an agent to notify users when documents are
modified under certain circumstances.
Hooking up to Oracle Workflow is certainly possible but will
probably take longer and for straight forward things is not
worth the effort at this stage.

Internet integration of workflow

I know this is not an pure ABAP question but I do not know where to position it beside maybe WF.
Anyway ABAP-ers usually are technical wide open minded
In Investment management (IM) there are so called appropriation requests(AR). These are the objects where it is possible to enter data about the future projects. Management then approves it or not via WF.
I am interested how would it be possible to enter AR-s via internet and approve it or reject it there. How would these be possible. That is query I got.
II guess then approval would go via Business event (if they are not already present then it is possible to create them via an FM). (I did it already with Purchase requistions).
However what is bothering me is Internet integration. I guess ITS or Enterprise portal would be needed but I do not have experience in it. Then each "named" participant needs an license

You can assign the workflow while creating any asset...
Go to Admin->AdminTab->StartMenu->New Asset-> Select the asset and open that asset in edit mode.
Now you will able to see the select workflow button click on that and select your required workflow.
I am still searching how can we assign the workflow to the assets that has created already through admin .
Any answer will be highly appreciable.

Integrating a workflow in PS Elements 5, LR1 and Photoshop

Here is a workflow that helps me integrate LR, Elements 5 and Photoshop...
Prior to release of LR1, I used PS Elements 5 to organize my photos, along with RawShooter and PS7.0.
I had hoped to replace both PS Elements and RawShooter by Lightroom - but that is still in the future. My problem in migrating fully to LR is that the tag structure fails to import properly from Elements to LR and I don't have the patience to retag thousands of photos in LR (many others have encountered this issue).
So I have been looking for a way to use the "develop" and other powerful functions of LR + PS while still keeping everything organized in Elements until Adobe fix the Import from Elements function.
First, if you haven't read Kevin K Yong's LR-Photoshop clever idea for workflow, read it first. Kevin's workflow uses two folders ("Develops" and "1A Sortbox") and the autoimport feature to integrate LR and Photoshop:

OK, here's how I build on that:
Set up: I have PS Elements watch "My Pictures"and automatically add new files to the organizer. I have LR set up with Kevin's "Develops" and "1A Sortbox" folders. I have LR "Automatically write changes into XMP". I convert all RAW to DNG.
Now, lets say I want to work on a project:
1. Find the photos I want to use in Elements and get them into the photo browser (using tags, collections or whatever).
2. Optionally, select the photos and "Write tag and properties info to photo" (File Menu).
3. Select all photos and drag and drop from Elements into the LR Grid View. LR imports them in the normal way at their current location. LR will recognise most/some of the tags (not for RAW).
4. Develop photos as needed in LR.
5. Export any photos needing work in Photoshop using Kevin's technique, filing the .psd files where desired but somewhere within "My Pictures".
6. Export finals for printing, web etc.
7. When finished with the project, go back into Elements, which will automatically add any new Photoshop files into the organizer. Stack with originals if desired.
This takes about 10 minutes to set up, once, and then the flow is straightforward and fairly natural. It makes using LR a pleasure. Try it.

I have been searching several forums in order to transfer my Tags and Collections from PSE5 to Lightroom. Your posting seems to work (I have tried one Tag and one Collections) today. I use the PSE5 editor not PS so is there a step I need to take to insure that my changes will appear in PSE5? I am really encouraged with the "workflow" in your message as I have over 30,000 images in PSE5 in various Tags and Collections.
Also I need to see Kevin's technique...where can I find that bit of knowledge? Or do I need it if I do not use PS as my editor.

BW integration with workflow

Hai all,
I am working on a project where we need to get data from R/3 workflow to BW system. I am sorry but I know nothing about workflow. How can we extract data from workflow? Is it possible to use LO cockpit for that or do we need to use any other kinds of extraction methologies?

There is no Business Content for WF-extraction currently available, so you will have to work with generic extractors. Generic extractors are not part of the LO-Cockpit.

Integrating ABAP workflow in WebDynpro java

I have a requirement from the client where I need to add some additional services (Functionalities) to the existing ESS application.
1. The ESS package already contains many standard DC's such as for "Address","Who is Who" etc.Now I am adding a new functionality "Allowances" to that.
2. I am not using FPM based development architecture to acheive the same.Instead the ABAP team has created a workflow ,so that the approvers in this "Allowance" service can get their approval in their UWL.
3. Please help me in finding a sample code or let me know how do I do the same using webdynpro java and integrate it as a service in the standard ESS package.

Integrating ABAP workflow with UWL

Hi Experts,
I am trying to integrated ABAP tasks with Portal UWL. I have done all the configuration steps as mentioned on sap help sites.
I am getting all item types from ECC. If I need to fetch only a specific task ID , for example TS90200025 from ECC to UWL, can we do that ?
My goal is to give only a specific type of task to the end user. Currently he is getting all type of tasks.

Hi,
You need to modify the standard UWL configuration file to do this. There's a blog that explains how to modify this file :[Universal Worklist - when you only need a single tab|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=(J2EE3417500)ID0282335850DB11533758682118626478End?blog=/pub/wlg/4581].
You can create a new ItemType or use the one corresponding to the task and then create a new view or modify the DefaultView and change the "supportedItemTypes" attribute.
Here's an example. Define a new ItemType :
