  • Can any body  tell me about  sap-plm  from  technical point of view

    In sap-plm from the development point of view what abapers task

    Hi Prasoon,
    PLM very wide area but from ABAP point of view it depends which area you are working on, like it includes Bill of Materials, Document Management System, Classifications, Product Structure Browser, Engineering Change Mangement, etc within R/3 and apart from this it even includes Project System
    on Web application Systems it includes Collaboration Projects & Collaboration Folders.
    ABAP work comes for enhancements, Functional Modules, User Exists, Feild Exists, Interfaces(RFC) for CAD Integrations etc, & Reports like ALV etc.
    It Depends which part of PLM you are working on & what is the requirement where in ABAP development is required so in general it is difficult to answer this question but for any particular/specific requirements anybody will answer.
    Hope you might have got the fair idea of PLM

  • Launch SAP Transaction from UWL and decision views

    Hi,
    Q1:
    we wan't to launch a SAP Transaction from the Universal Worklist. Does anyone know how to do this explicitly?
    Q2:
    I have tried to add decisions directly to a List View, i.e. with the reject and approve columns. The columns do appear, but the checkboxes are not visible. From the log I can see a warning "No Custom Attribute exists for item ...".
    The three options do appear correctly when you go to the details view for the item, and I did apply the same values for the actions (1,2,3).
    Does anyone know how to do this?
    PS! I have read the How To document, but could not find the answer there, nor in this forum.
    Thanks,
    Mikkel

    I did fix question 2 above.
    Still don't have a solution on how to launch a SAP Transaction. XML transcript below:

  • Different Modules from BW point of View

    Hi Experts,
    I am new learner please let me know the important information and concepts of different modules like SD,MM,FI Etc from the perspective of BW.
    What should I learn from these modules which is releated to BW.
    If some one asks me about these modules keeping in the view of BW what do I need to ans the please give me the weblink or Points that would really greatful.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
    As a BW consultant it would be imperative to know if a few mandatory things that are related to all the modules. These mandatory topics cover
    - knowledge of business processes.
    - how each business process impacts a table in SAP R/3 - ECC.
    - how are the tables integrated with each other for eg. Header - item - schedule line tables integration in SD /MM, Info records and Condition tables in MM etrc.
    - how are these tables linked to the standard data sources through the extractors.
    Knowing the above information to start with should give you a good start. It is important to have a constand dialogue with the functional consultants who will be able to help you out with the above information.

  • SAP Module sapnwrfc: Retrieving data from SAP using RFC

    I'm sorry, if I'm asking about something that's obvious in SAP. I need to develop a perl application in a remote server that will receive a requisition from an abap application.
    I'm using the SAP Module sapnwrfc. I connect to SAP Gateway with no errors and execute the function sapnwrfc::installFunction (no errors returned) but I can't find the transaction in SAP. Anybody has some document about configurations that I need to do in sap ? Or anybody could see the code above and tell me what is wrong?
    [code]
    #!/usr/bin/perl
    use sapnwrfc;
    use Data::Dumper;
    use utf8;
      SAPNW::Rfc->load_config;
      my $conn = SAPNW::Rfc->rfc_connect;
      # print "Testing SAPNW::Rfc-$SAPNW::Rfc::VERSION\n";
      my $func = new SAPNW::RFC::FunctionDescriptor("ZRFCDAZEL") ;
      my $pipedata = new SAPNW::RFC::Type(name => 'DATA',
                                          type => RFCTYPE_TABLE,
                                          fields => [{name => 'OBJTY',
                                                      type => RFCTYPE_CHAR,
                                                      len => 4},
                                                     {name => 'OBJKY',
                                                      type => RFCTYPE_CHAR,
                                                      len => 10},
                                                     {name => 'ATTRIBUTES',
                                                      type => RFCTYPE_CHAR,
                                                      len => 255},
      $func->addParameter(new SAPNW::RFC::Export(name => "COMMAND",
                                                 len => 255,
                                                 type => $pipedata));
      $func->addParameter(new SAPNW::RFC::Import(name => "COMMAND1",
                                                 len => 255,
                                                 type => $pipedata));
    $funcao->callback(\&do_remote_pipe);
    $conn->disconnect();
    exit;
    sub do_remote_pipe {
        my $param = shift;
        print "\nPARM : " . $param->{'ZDUS'} . "\n";
        $param->COMMAND1([{'LOG'=>'Execute ZDUS PARAMETER '}]);
        $param->COMMAND1([{'STATUS'=>'S'}]);
        return 1;
    sub do_global_callback {
        warn "Running global callback ...\n";
        return 1;

    Timo,
    I included the code in the VO and in my bean, I was able to generate this code snippet:
    public String GetParamterSetup() {
            BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
            OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("applyParamVOCriteria");
            operationBinding.getParamsMap().put("vcodetype", codeType);
            Object result = operationBinding.execute();
            System.out.println(result);
            if (!operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty()) {
                return null;
            return null;
    I was able to get the result from the System.out.println. It returns null when there is no match. However, I  want  to return the entire row or have access to that attribute.  For instance if I have 'GB011' what the system will display for me is 'viewrow [oracle.jbo.Key[GB011 ]]'
    Pls, how can I have access to individual attributes like ParamSetup.codeType, ParamSetuo.MainCode etc...

  • What SAP-modules can be SAP HR integrated with?

    Hi to all!
    I have a following question:  What SAP-modules can be SAP HR integrated with? What HR objects and business processes could be involved in integration. What are the main advantages of this kind of integration.

    The best advantage of SAP HCM is that we have Integration with other Modules
    as per as SAP HCM i worked integration with FICO , SD
    Business objects form FICO side will be Cost Center
    and there are many Advantages with the integrations with other modules

  • DI integration with RMCA SAP module

    Hi everyone,
    Anyone knows if there is any universe, rapid mart, etc for extracting data from the RMCA SAP module (REVENUE MANAGEMENT and CONTRACT ACCOUNTING SAP module)? I need to integrate it with Business Objects.
    And if there isn't, any good practice? Any lessons' learned?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Bea

    Hi,
    Please use "Interface Toolbox". It is native SAP tool to integrate SAP HCM with third party systems.
    Here you learn more about it and how to use it:

  • Diference bet. sap 4.6b,4.6c & 4.7e from abap point of view

    hi,
      i want to know what are the diferences between the sap versions 4.6b, 4.6c and 4.7e.
    at my home i am having 4.6b and in my institute i am having 4.7e.
    will there be any difference sintax wise, look and feel wise in reports,alv's, scripts, smartforms, screen designing,bdc etc.
    regards,
    maqsood

    There is hardly any difference between 46B and 46C from ABAP poitn of view.
    However there is quite a lot of new features/tools/syntax changes in 4.70, which is based on WAS 6.20.
    (Web-extension/BSP, Unicode check, Code Inspector/SCOV, extended SE80, XSLT, New package concept etc)
    The best is check SE38 Application help "New features in ABAP" and check the Changes in Release 6.10 & 6.20 section.
    Same is also available in the Online help ( help.sap.com )

  • Integration of SD and MM Module

    Hi,
       I Want to know the How to Integrating the SD and MM Module .Please help this topic .
    Thanks & Regards
    Raghava

    hi,
    MM Process flow:
    The typical procurement cycle for a service or material consists of the following phases:
    1. Determination of Requirements
    Materials requirements are identified either in the user departments or via materials planning and control. (This can cover both MRP proper and the demand-based approach to inventory control. The regular checking of stock levels of materials defined by master records, use of the order-point method, and forecasting on the basis of past usage are important aspects of the latter.) You can enter purchase requisitions yourself, or they can be generated automatically by the materials planning and control system.
    2. Source Determination
    The Purchasing component helps you identify potential sources of supply based on past orders and existing longer-term purchase agreements. This speeds the process of creating requests for quotation (RFQs), which can be sent to vendors electronically via SAP EDI, if desired.
    3. Vendor Selection and Comparison of Quotations
    The system is capable of simulating pricing scenarios, allowing you to compare a number of different quotations. Rejection letters can be sent automatically.
    4. Purchase Order Processing
    The Purchasing system adopts information from the requisition and the quotation to help you create a purchase order. As with purchase requisitions, you can generate Pos yourself or have the system generate them automatically. Vendor scheduling agreements and contracts (in the SAP System, types of longer-term purchase agreement) are also supported.
    5. Purchase Order Follow-Up
    The system checks the reminder periods you have specified and - if necessary - automatically prints reminders or expediters at the predefined intervals. It also provides you with an up-to-date status of all purchase requisitions, quotations, and purchase orders.
    6. Goods Receiving and Inventory Management
    Goods Receiving personnel can confirm the receipt of goods simply by entering the Po number. By specifying permissible tolerances, buyers can limit over- and underdeliveries of ordered goods.
    7. Invoice Verification
    The system supports the checking and matching of invoices. The accounts payable clerk is notified of quantity and price variances because the system has access to PO and goods receipt data. This speeds the process of auditing and clearing invoices for payment.

    SD Process Flow:
    The sales documents you create are individual documents but they can also form part of a chain of inter-related documents. For example, you may record a customer’s telephone inquiry in the system. The customer next requests a quotation, which you then create by referring to the inquiry. The customer later places an order on the basis of the quotation and you create a sales order with reference to the quotation. You ship the goods and bill the customer. After delivery of the goods, the customer claims credit for some damaged goods and you create a free-of-charge delivery with reference to the sales order. The entire chain of documents – the inquiry, the quotation, the sales order, the delivery, the invoice, and the subsequent delivery free of charge – creates a document flow or history. The flow of data from one document into another reduces manual activity and makes problem resolution easier. Inquiry and quotation management in the Sales Information System help you to plan and control your sales.
    Transaction Codes:
    Inquiry - VA11/VA12/VA13
    Quotation - VA21/VA22/VA23
    Sales Order - VA01/VA02/VA03
    Delivery - VL01N/VL02N/VL03N
    Billing/Invoicing - VF01/VF02/VF03

    MSEG-- GRN Data (Item)(MBLNR,BWART,LIFNR,MATNR,EBELN)
    The link between SD and MM :-
    1. When you create sales order in SD, all the details of the items are copied from Material master of MM.
    2. MRP and availibility check related data is also taken from MM although you control this data in SD also.
    3. While you create inbound/outbound delivery with reference to a sales order,the shipping point determination takes place with the help of the loading group, plant data, shipping conditions etc. This also refers to Material Master.
    4. The material which you are entering in a sales order must be extended to the sales area of your sales order/customer otherwise you cannot transact with this material.

    Hi Ranjan,
    If the companay code does not belong to the Co area,  the system will certainly raise an error message. The question is, where do the values come from.
    Woud you please check the customizing in ERP system, if you can find the inconsistence:
    1. Customizing of the Proj.Profile under 'Create Project Profile' , SAP standard delivered is CPR0001, may be replaced by customer,
    Which Co-area & company code are used. In Tab 'organization'
    2. Which responsible Org.unit is maitained at involved cProject, to which co-area or company codes is this org.unit assigned.
    3. If the Badi under the
    Integration with Other mySAP.com Components ->
    Collaboration Projects -> Controlling ->  Business Add-Ins (BAdIs),
    which set the org. information hardly via Badi method.
    Kind regards,
    Zhenbo

    Hello Rich,
    the sap gui from the NW2004s SneakPreview page is on patchlevel 8. The problem is when i use the latest sap gui from the service marketplace (full install!) i cant event call the gui. Getting a error when doubleclicking on the SAP Gui icon.
    'The procedure entry point 'RfcResetTraceDir' could not be located in the dynamic link library 'LIBRFC32.dll' .'
    So actually since i installed the NW2004s on my local notebook the only sap gui "working" (at least i can call it) is the one from the NW2004s Sneakpreview page but im getting this error mentioned here on all systems! not only on the NW2004s system
