Integration Server connection throws ESB Server: FAILED error

I've installed BPM 10.1.3.1 on my m/c and while creating an integration server connection, I get an error as:
Application Server: OK
BPEL Process Manager Server: OK
ESB Server: FAILED
I've verified the ports in the ant-orabpel.properties file and there is no deviation in that. Am I missing anything? Any pointers to this would be of help.

Yes, I gathered that from the ESB-only distribution media.
I'm still confused.
The SOA Suite download says that it contains the ESB. It also contains an Oracle Lite instance to run against for development.
1) Are you saying that the ESB that comes with SOA Suite for Windows/Oracle Lite development purposes isn't actually ESB, and shouldn't work even though the Quick Start Guide shows an "ESB Server: Success" message, not an "ESB Server:Failed" message?
2) What about the error messages in the previous posting -- is the WSIF for ESB supposed to be broken in the Developer installation?
3) Do I have to install the full OracleAS, Oracle DB, etc... to run the examples as documented?
4) Should I just not care and do my proof-of-concept work without the use of ESB at all?
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101310.html says:

  • Dedicated Server Connection Vs Shared Server Connection

    Hi Gurus,
I have few doubts regarding Dedicated Server Connection Vs Shared Server Connection -
    1) How do I know which connection mechanism is configured in my system.
    2) Which connection faster and reliable.
    3) Is there any risk to using shared server connection?
    4) Which concept is new comparatively?
    5) It is possible to restrict specific user for Dedicated Server Connection and other for Shared Server Connection in a same database.

Thanks for your post.... but still i have doubt on below points -
    1) How do I know which connection mechanism is configured in my system.Search for dispatcher parameter (both words in the search box) in the docs.
    2) It is possible to restrict specific user for Dedicated Server Connection and other for Shared Server Connection in a same database. You might be able to do something like this by using the RULE parameter with cman, limiting specific users (via local security setups) to specific client IP's and forcing them to particular service names. This is a net services issue, so does not conflict with what Billy said. It assumes you control whether your users will query the db appropriately, too. Many apps don't do that right.

  • "Connect to SAP gateway failed" error message when we connecting bex to bw

any one can help in connecting bex with BW.
we got a error when we are trying to connect bex to bw from offshore. as we do not have basis consultant we only need to connect bex with BW.
    "Connect to SAP gateway failed".
    RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION
But it is working properly connecting to onsite team.
this is the first time we are connecting from offshore.

You didnt answer the first question of when exactly are you getting this error message - during direct logon to BEx or using transaction RRMX. Anyways, I assume both are giving the error.
Check how the SAP logon pad is configured to access the BW server currently.
In our case the problem was resolved by using the server machine name instead of the IP address to logon to the BW server.
If you are currently using the IP address in the logon pad then change it to the server machine name instead.
Also, make this entry in your hosts file (windows>system32>drivers>etc>hosts) add an entry like:
    <IP Address> <bw_server_machine_name>
save the file, reboot the system and then try logging onto BEx again.
If it still does not work - send me screenshots of the logon pad configuration you have for the BW server.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Nikhil

  • URGENT: SAP throws the "Deserialization failed" error.

    Hi All,
I am using ABAP generated WebService in .NET 1.1.
    Steps i took:
    1. Generate Web Service of a BAPI in ABAP and Test it there.
    2. Take its URL and Added Web Reference in my PortalApplication in .NET 1.1
    3. Deployed it successfully, but when i try to run the project i.e "Portal Application" it gives "Deserielization failed" Error.
    its urgent Please Help!
    Help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance
    sachin

    Dear Vinay,
Does your other FM are also using arrays.?
Deserialization problem comes when xml parser is not able to convert XML schema or values to language specific elements.
And this problem normally comes if you are using complex data types.
Can you check once again and reply.

  • Throw ESB XSLT processing error

Does anyone know of a way to throw an error during the transform of two messages so that a service instance fails? Is this possible? I've written a user defined extension function and would like the ESB service to fail if certain conditions are met, like if a database is unavailable for a lookup.

I'd need to do this without data validation being enables.

  • Connection to License Server Failed after upgrade to PL45

    Hi Experts,
My client is using SAP B1 SP01 PL39, Windows 2003 OS Server. I have recently upgraded the server to PL45 but after the upgrade, the workstations are encountering "Connection to License Server Failed" every time they log to the server.
Our workaround is to go to Server suite Manager> License Manager> settings> click 'set' and the message "The port is now updated....". After which, the workstations can now log to the server.
The problem is we cannot do this workaround everyday. I tried changing the server connection in the server suite manager to: IP no., server name or localhost but still to no avail.
A help from you guys would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Regelio
As Van mentioned above, the issue may caused by the TAO NT Naming service.
Please check the status of TAO NT Naming service/License Manager
when the issue happens. And in case the error is really caused by
those services, please try to re-install the whole server tools.
Also,if the issue still persists,as another workaround we suggest you to use a simple
batch script to test the Status of the TAO NT naming service,
and restart it when the services  was stopped.
Such a script can be launched with windows scheduled every several
    minutes.
    @echo off
net start    find "TAO NT Naming Service"
    IF %ERRORLEVEL% EQU 0 (
echo Ok - "TAO NT Naming Service" is running
    ) ELSE (
echo Error - "TAO NT Naming Service" is not running
net stop "TAO NT Naming Service"
net stop "SAP Business One License Manager 2005"
net start "TAO NT Naming Service"
net start "SAP Business One License Manager 2005"

  • Integration server v/s application server

I finally got the soademo to work. Can any one help me understand the difference between integration server and application server. what to deploy to the application server and what to register to esb? thanks

Oracle Application Server provides a complete Java 2, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) 1.4-compliant environment.
Depending on the installation type, it includes Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J), Oracle Process Manager and Notification Server (OPMN), Application Server Control Console, OC4J Java Single Sign-On, and Oracle Business Rules. It can also include the Service-Oriented Architecture components: Oracle Enterprise Service Bus, Oracle BPEL Process Manager, Oracle Business Activity Monitoring, and Oracle Web Services Manager.
Integration server is an entity that a run-time engine to perform the integration logic using BPEL/ESB or Web Services manager etc. Integration server connects to application server which eventually helps administrating and managing different applications as a whole.
It helps you maintains transactionality and failover support and provides an OC4J conatiner for running J2EE compliant application whereas Integration server is used to run the SOA logic.

  • Impossible to connect to BPEL server from Jdeveloper

We have installed the soa suite in the following way
    -     oracle home 1 on server 1: http server
    -     oracle home 2 on server 1: apps server with two oc4j, one for the jsso and em and another one for bpel.
I want to deploy the bpel process from jdeveloper.
I first do a server connection to the server 1. When I try to test the connection I get an error
Error getting OC4J Process for: opmn-home+oc4j-oraclesoa.smartwavesa.com-6004-default:
Error connecting to OPMN (is it running?): Connection refused: connect
So I tried to modify the opmn.xml of oracle home 2 by adding the following line
    <ipaddr remote=”0.0.0.0” request=”0.0.0.0”/>
After this modification I am able to connect to oracle home 2 from jdeveloper BUT the http URL of enterprise manager and bpel console are no more available.
So my question is how can I enable the deployment of bpel process from Jdeveloper to the server 1?
    Thanks for your help

Yes admin instance is running on home 2 and more precisely on oc4j_home.
BPEL and ESB is also running on home 2 but on another oc4j oc4j_soa
If I use the standard configuration (the one that has been created during the installation) I am able to reach all the consoles BPEL, ESB or Enterprise Manager.
