Integrationprocess - subworkflows/composite services

Hi,
i have a detailed integrationprocess in the xi which is part of a bigger business process. Now i want to design the main business process also in the xi, therefor i want to reuse/include the part which is already designed. How can i do this?
In the ECC i can add a activity and refer to the id of the subworkflow, unfortunately i haven't found such in the xi.
regards,
Matthias

Hi Ranjit,
thanks for the answer but thats not exactly what i had in mind. If i use "insert integration process after", the whole integration process is insert into the process. If i have an complex subprocess, the whole process gets even complexer.
What i intended is something like this: i have an complex mainprocess which consists of 4 subprocesses. So the graphical representation of the main process in the ccBPM has only 4 symbols, each of them refering to one of the subprocesses...
That would be similiar to the concept of subworkflows in the SAP Webflow/Business Workflow.
Does such a think exists in the XI/ccBPM?
regards,
Matthias

  • Best practice on creating composite services

    Good afternoon, experts.
    I was wondering what would be the recommended way to create a new enterprise service that is basically the orchestration of other enterprise services, for example, already provided by business suite. I guess I can model the orchestration and even the transformation rules through Netweaver Process Modeler and then export it as a service. I think it is also possible to model it as a Visual Composer application and then export it as a web service. Finally I believe there must be a way to do it using purely PI.
    So, what is the recommended way? Pros and cons?
    Regards.

    Hope these best services and white papers from different organisations would help you to understnad on composite services

  • Exposing Oracle Business Rule As Composite Service

    Hi Gurus,
    I have created a simple business rule and exposed it as composite service(without using any BPEL process) and deployed it into server successfully.Now i want to call that Business rule as webservice in my BPEL process, but i am facing some issues like, have to provide values of some fields like NCName,some attributes under bpelInstaces.
    When i checked the Business Rule project in EMconsole,faced the same scenario.
    Question: is it mandatory to use BPEL process at the time of exposing Business Rule?
    Any suggestion is helpful to me..
    Thanks in advance
    Sharmistha

    Hi Sai,
    Thanks for the rply.
    Yes, The "Will be Invoked as A Web Service" property is "Checked" for Business Rule Decision Function and the service name is also available.
    when i am trying to get the wsdl of the web service it shows "Error 404-Not Found". (http://<host>:<soa port>/<service name>?wsdl)
    *[e.g http://<host>:<soa port>/OracleRules_WSTest_DecisionService_1?wsdl]*
    But the ruleset is available in the SOA Composer.
    Still facing the same problem, can't invoke the Business Rule in my composite as Web-service.

  • Composite Service / Getting WSSE Credentials

    We are writing composite web services which use JWS and WSSE security for the web services and JAX-RPC (using clientgen) for client side marshalling.
    When a composite service recieves a request from a client, the weblogic environment reads the WSSE header and authenticates the client. The problem is that the same Credentials from the original client are needed to authenticate with other downstream services using JAX-RPC.
    I was hoping to use the JwsContext getInputHeaders method in the web service to get those credentials, but they are removed during the authentication process. How can I get the clients credentials inside the service???

    Hi,
    Thanks Kaushik for the reply. However i do not see any such option when i right-click on the business task. All i see is the Internet explorer standard menu.
    Any idea what could be wrong here? ANy issues with setup or installation? The version that we are onto curretnly is 11.1.1.4.0
    Thank you for your help

  • Security with Composite Services

    We will be exposing key WLI processes as services. These, internally, will call other processes (also services). Our question ... How does identity propagation work when one JWS calls another? Is there some way a utility process JWS could avoid network exposure and be consumable only by trusted JWS's internal to the same WLS domain? The overhead of multiple authentication / authorization for layered composite services must be a recurring problem. We have numerous utility services that need to be frequently called. Some would only be called by higher trusted services (shouldn't have exposure beyond that). What is the most efficient way to architect and manage these utility service security issues? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    I've tried specifying the name attribute (I'm using "OracleRules1_DecisionService_1" for this) against the callFunctionStateless element, but am still getting this error!
    Can you yourself, jeer, or anyone else please help with this? I've turned on low level logging for the soa server, but the errors it's throwing really don't enlighten me very much at all!
    Any help will be very much appreciated.

  • Representing SOA/Composite service and operations

    Which diagram/diagrams do you recommend for depicting a SOA/Composite Service and their operations?
    Example:
    We have a process function "Mutual Acceptance" that requires customer data,
    which is in another software module for handling customer master data.
    The service is called "Manage Customer" and the operation "Query Customer".
    I am thankful for any input, best regards Fredrik.

    Hi Fredrik,
    Just some quick notes regarding this complex theme.
    To describe the relationships of a business service to other architecture elements create a Business Service Allocation model for each Business Service. Therefore use the diagram type IS Context Model to depict:
    * software services implementing the business service
    * business data owned by the service
    * capabilities
    * organizational units
    Furthermore Access diagrams can be used to depict a software service with its operations, data input and output, capabilities and roles (as far as notifications or workflows included). An Access diagram gets autoomatically generated while the import of a WSDL. Enrich the diagramm type according to your requirements (for operations you can use the symbol IT Procedure). At the end of the day the model shall serve a descrption for the implementation. Hope this is what you were looking for.
    Best regards,
    Danilo

  • Synchronous Composite Services with Immediate Response

    Hi
    The paltform is currently SOA 11.1.1.2.0 which is to be moved to SOA 11.1.1.3.0 once environments are complete
    Essentially I have a requirement by where the way we build some of our composites needs to apply to a certain pattern. This patterm is a synchronous request - response by where an immediate response to the client / calling service is provided. By this I mean a client / service will call a SOA composite, the callled composite will receive the message and reply imemdiately with some tracking information and then the called service will carry on its processing. However in terms of the client / callee service the interaction is complete. (e.g. do not provide further updates).
    The above is an adaptation of Fire and Forget however we desire to pass back some meaningful trascking / support information to the client.
    Following implementation of this in development, we have noticed that the interaction is essentially blocked until all services are complete. Therefore A --> B --> C, even though B has responded to A and then called C, A remains running until all composites are complete
    I'd envisage this is related to transactions and threads etc, however I was wondering if there were any properies thats could be set to alleviate this problem. I have considered using bpel.config.transaction etc.
    Currently placing a checkpoint (by no means ideal) after the reply resolves the issue. Presumeably as this forces dehydration
    Any thoughts would be appreciated
    Regards Dave

    Hello Dave,
    From my point of view, you should pass the message (immediately after receiving) to a intermediate storage (AQ, JMS, FILE/FTP) and then reply back with required info to the client. Let process C poll the intermediate location for incoming messages and perform rest of the processing. So calls will be like -
    A--> B --> Storage (JMS/AQ/FILE/FTP)
    Storage --> C
    Above solution would be good in case the frequency of messages from client is high. I don't know whether it fits in your requirement but this is an option.
    Regards,
    Anuj

  • Expose Business Rules as composite service

    I´m trying to invoke a business rules as web service, i create a composite aplication and add a busniess rule that is exposed as WS.
    For my rule a need only one input data "testData" but when i test my service from the Enterprise Manager is data is needed:
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
         <soap:Body xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/OracleRules1/OracleRules1_OracleRules1_DecisionService_1">

    </ns1:parameterList>
    </ns1:callFunctionStateful>
    </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    Do you know what are the other´s needed data?
    Thanks!

    I am able to test the business service i exposed as webservice without using BPEL .
    i sent some dummy values to the processId, processVersion , etc.
    Only required value is payload     @ * name NCName once i provided the correct value to it i received the correct response by executing the business rules.
    Thanks

  • [Integrated SOA Gateway] Publish Java based web service

    Welcome!
    Lately I have been trying to publish Java based web service through Integrated SOA Gateway. The documentation states that:
    +"Custom interface definitions can be created for various interface types including custom interface definitions for XML Gateway Map, Business Event, PL/SQL, Concurrent Program, Business Service Object, Java (except for Java APIs for Forms subtype) and Composite Service for BPEL type."+ (Integrated SOA Gateway Developer's Guide Release 12.1, "Creating and Using Custom Integration Interfaces")
    After familiarizing myself with $FND_TOP/bin/irep_parser.pl and $FND_TOP/bin/FNDLOAD tools, I have started coding my POJOs. Initially I have come up with three classes - request/response objects and service implementation. Service implementation has been annotated with "@rep:X" descriptors according to "Java Annotations" section of the documentation. While invoking $FND_TOP/bin/irep_parser.pl I have received errors about class resolution. My solution was to transform request and response types to static inner classes. This way I ended up with one *.java source file (see below).
    * Sample ISG Service.
    * @rep:scope public
    * @rep:product AP
    * @rep:displayname My Custom ISG Service.
    public class MyService {
    public static class Request {
    private String id;
    public void setId(String id) {
    this.id = id;
    public String getId() {
    return id;
    public static class Response {
    private String data;
    public void setData(String data) {
    this.data = data;
    public String getData() {
    return data;
    * Sample operation.
    * @param request Request Object.
    * @return Return Object.
    * @rep:displayname Test operation.
    * @rep:category BUSINESS_ENTITY SAMPLE_SERVICE
    public MyService.Response testOperation(MyService.Request request) {
    MyService.Response response = new MyService.Response();
    response.setData("Some Data");
    return response;
    ILDT file has been successfully created and uploaded. However, I could not see the "Generate WSDL" button on Integrated Repository website. Is there any particular interface or superclass that my service implementation should extend? I have reviewed "PurchaseOrderSDO" example posted in the developer's guide (page 407), but I couldn't come up with a working solution. Could you provide me with more detailed tutorial/example? Which documentation sections should I read again?
    After searching through forum, I have spotted $FND_TOP/bin/soagenerate.sh script, and thought that lack of "Generate WSDL" button was an EBS defect. After running the script, I have received an error:
    Error in Service Generation.
    ServiceGenerationError: Interface Type (JAVA) Interface SubType (null) is not supported.
    oracle.apps.fnd.soa.util.SOAException: ServiceGenerationError: Interface Type (JAVA) Interface SubType (null) is not supported.

         at oracle.apps.fnd.soa.provider.wsdl.ServiceGenerator.main(ServiceGenerator.java:419)
    I would be grateful for any suggestions. Has anyone published Java based web service through ISG?
    Best regards,
    Lukasz

    I tried the following as per Oracle support and able to generate the wsdl though, but not invoke the webservices.
    1. Applied the patch 8607523
    2. Took the translator.jar file from the patch 8857799 and replaced the current translator.jar file
    3. Deploy the adapters.
    $FND_TOP/bin/txkrun.pl -script=CfgOC4JApp -applicationname=pcapps
    -oc4jpass=welcome -runautoconfig=No

  • Remote Persistency And Entity Services References

    Hi Guys,
    I try to build a composite service with remote persistency (via webservices). There are several tuturials explainig it:
    81 Using a Web Service as External Service
    85 Using RFCs as External Services
    95 Implementing Remote Persistency with CAF and RFCs
    This is no problem at all, when only using one entity service or several entity service with no relations to each other. But for an demo application I try to create two entity services ("Main" and "Sub") and the "Main" entity service should have a relation to "Sub".
    What I try:
    1.) Create the entity services "main" with an own id.
    2.) Create the entity services "sub" with an own id.
    3.) Open the attributs for main again and create an relation to the entity service sub (via add button).
    4.) deactivate "local persistency" for every entity service
    5.) create the mapping for the read and find by operations.
    But how can I "teach" my application the relation between these entity services? A look into the sql database shows an empty relation table and the pattern "relation tab" is empty, too.
    I try to create a findby operation for the entity service "sub" like "findByMainID". But the attribut list only shows attributs of the "sub" entity service.
    Are entity service relations working with remote persistency?
    Kind regards
    Martin

    Hi Austin,
    thank you for you answer. But the findBy operation is only one problem. The main problem is the missing option to map a webservice to a reference/relationship. Due this fact the application has no chance to know which child record is part of which main record or which main record is parent of which child record. As a result I have two totaly isolated entity services which doesnt know, that they relate to each other. The application has no information about the relationship.
    When I create only one entity service with a complex attribute for child attributs I didn't have the these problem. I could map parameters to the (parent) attributs of the entity service and the (child) attributs of the complex attributes in the same step. In this way the application have informations about the relationship between parent and child records. For example a web service for the read operation could return exactly one record for the attributs of the parent entity service and a list of records to the child attributes (modelled as complex attributs) in case of a 0...n cardinality. I think there must be a solution like this for two entity services with a relationship between each other.
    Do you understand my problem? Maybe I've missunderstood something. But what?
    Thank you
    Martin

  • 11g SOA Composite Rules Error - Rule session pool object does not exist

    Hi all,
    I'm hoping someone has experienced this and found a way through it. We're looking at exposing Oracle Rules DecisionFunctions via the automagically created web services in JDeveloper. We've tried several Rules examples, including the OrderApproval one available online, and are getting errors everytime we try and test the web service.
    Firstly we get this error:

    Has anyone had any luck actually getting this to work? If so, how? It simply seems like this particular aspect of the product is broken!
    Your help would be VERY much appreciated!

    Hi SR,
    Thanks for your response. I attempted what you've suggested (1=1 - asset new fact in output), however nothing has changed.
    This is occurring across several Composite Rules projects, including the Oracle provided Chapter 5 Order Approval example. Unless someone can suggest a solution to this issues, it looks like we're going to have to shelf our plans to utilize the Business Rules component via the composite service.
    Very frustrating couple of days, that's for sure! :{
    Regards,
    Rhian
