Integrity check of tables between Oracle 9i and Oracle 11g

Hi,
|Is there a tool or a way to check the integrity of data in the tables after migrating data from an Oracle 9i database to an Oracle 11g database?
Thanks for you help.

Hi,
How do you want to proceed for your migration ? Assuming everything was OK in your 9i database normally things should go well whatever the method.
For example as the previous posters mentioned if you use exp/imp and if you have "successfully without warnings" at the end of the operations you can trust those messages. Physical corruption is not the only possible problem and with exp/imp some things not to forget :
- checking the compatibility of the source and target database charactersets and positioning correctly the NLS_LANG variables for exp and imp
- activity on the source at the time of your export ? Your export has to be "logically" consistent.
Oh and about block integrity do a good full rman backup on your 11g database after the migration and check v$database_block_corruption after the backup. RMAN is your friend about physical integrity. Even after an incremental rman backup if a query on this view gives 0 result you can be sure you have no block corruption (at least if block_change_tracking is not used)
Best regards
Phil

  • The tracking tables between Oracle Trade management and General Ledger

    Hello,
    I need some help about the Oracle Trade management(R12), I have a requirement to find the records which exist in the Claim tables but not in the GL table, I found OZF_AE_HEADERS and OZF_AE_LINES tables, but did not find the relationship between these two tables and GL import reference table. Is there any subledger table between Trade management and GL modules? Please kindly provide some information about this, thanks a lot.

  • Is it possible to perform network data encryption between Oracle 11g databases without the advance security option?

    Is it possible to perform network data encryption between Oracle 11g databases without the advance security option?
    We are not licensed for the Oracle Advanced Security Option and I have been tasked to use Oracle Network Data Encryption in order to encryption network traffic between Oracle instances that reside on remote servers. From what I have read and my prior understanding this is not possible without ASO. Can someone confirm or disprove my research, thanks.

    Hi, Srini Chavali-Oracle
    As for http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/options/advanced-security/advanced-security-ds-12c-1898873.pdf?ssSourceSiteId… ASO is mentioned as TDE and Redacting Sensitive Data to Display. Network encryption is excluded.
    As for Network Encryption - Oracle FAQ (of course this is not Oracle official) "Since June 2013, Net Encryption is now licensed with Oracle Enterprise Edition and doesn't require Oracle Advanced Security Option." Could you clarify this? Thanks.

  • What is the diffrences between Oracle 11g standard & enterprise edition

    Hi,
    Can anybody please tell the diffrences between Oracle 11g standard & enterprise edition in detail.
    Thanks in advance,
    Anindya

    Oracle Enterprise Edition:
    Enterprise Edition is the full (top of the range) version or the Oracle Database Server. Options like RAC, Partitioning, Spatial, etc. can be purchased separately to enhance the functionality of the database.
    Oracle Standard Edition:
    Standard Edition is designed for smaller businesses and enterprises. It offers a subset of the features/ functionality implemented in Enterprise Edition. Database options like Data Guard, Partitioning, Spatial, etc. is not available with Standard Edition (from 10g one can use RAC with Standard Edition). Standard Edition can only be licensed on servers with a maximum capacity of four processors.
    Oracle Standard Edition One:
    Standard Edition One is a low cost, entry-level version of the Oracle Standard Edition database server. Standard Edition One can only be licensed on small servers with a maximum capacity of two processors.
    Oracle Personal Edition:
    Personal Oracle is a single user version of the database server. It is mostly the same as Enterprise Edition, but doesn't support advanced options like RAC, Streams, XMLDB, etc.
    Oracle Lite:
    Oracle Light is a database engine that can be used on mobile platforms like cell phones and PDA's.
    Oracle XE:
    Express Edition (XE) is a free, downloadable version of the Oracle database server. Oracle XE can only be used on single processor machines. It can only manage up to 4 GB of data and 1 GB of memory. ISVs can embed XE in 3rd party products and redistribute it freely.

    Hi ADKR,
    then linked the Oracle server to the SQL Server one and then you can write a stored procedure that for example encapsulates the T-SQL Merge statement (if supported by your SQL Server version).

  • ODBC connectivity between Oracle 11G and MSSQL Server on Solaris 10

    When we were running in 10G, I was able to successfully configure hsodbc using unixODBC and freeTDS to allow for an ODBC connection between Oracle and MSSQL Server.
    A few weeks ago we upgraded to 11G and I've been struggling to get the connectivity (dg4odbc) working.

    Hi Everyone,
    I am using an E-commerce application where we have the porduct catalog consisting of header items and sub items.
    While creating an order, if the header item has a subitem it displays automatically.How can i know that this subitem should be displayed for  this particular header item. I mean to say, I just want to know the CRM tables where the relationship between header item and subitem are maintained?*

    Hi,
      Go through the CRMD_ORDERADM_H and CRMD_ORDERADM_I.
    Pass header guid into CRMD_ORDERADM_I table in the HEADER field you will get corresponding item details.
    If you want ot know sub items related to header pass your CRMD_ORDERADM_H table guid in the CRMD_LINK in guid_hi field you will get corresponding sub items fof your header.

  • Update Global Temp Table in Oracle 11g

    Hi Experts,
    Scenario: I have stored  procedure A which calls procedure B. Procedure B uses Global temp Tables(With On Commit Preserve Rows)  to work with the data.
    I am trying to update one of the GTT in Proc B but unable to do it .. via SQL or via PL/SQL Cursor/Collection. There is no syntax nor logical error and the PL/SQL proc completes execution successfully but the rows are not getting updated. My Db version is Oralce 11g 11203.
    Update statement is something like this.
    Update <GTT>
    SET amount1 = amount1 *-1, amount2 = amount2 *-1
    where field1 = <value>
    and field2 in ( Select filed2 from <table1> );
    Any idea why would this update not work? Has anyone faced this issue in Oracle 11g??
    Appreciate your suggestions & thanks in Advance for your inputs.
    Cheers,
    MS

    Update statement is something like this.
    Update <GTT>
    SET amount1 = amount1 *-1, amount2 = amount2 *-1
    where field1 = <value>
    and field2 in ( Select filed2 from <table1> );
    Any idea why would this update not work?
    You already told us that it DOES work - no errors or exceptions.
    It is trivial to determine if that update will do anything - just turn it into a SELECT and see if any rows are ntselected:
    v_cnt INTEGER;
    SELECT COUNT(*) INTO v_cnt FROM  myGTT
    WHERE field1 = <value>
    AND field2 in (Select field2 from <tablee1>);
    Then take a look at the 'count' that you get.

  • External tables in Oracle 11g database is not loading null value records

    We have upgraded our DB from Oracle 9i to 11g...
    It was noticed that data load to external tables in 9i is rejecting the records with null columns..However upgrading it to 11g,it allows the records with null values.
    Is there are way to restrict loading the records that has few coulmns that are null..
    Can you please share if this is the expected behaviour in Oracle 11g...
    Thanks.

    Data isn't really loaded to an External Table. Rather, the external table lets you query an external data source as if it were a regular database table. To not see the rows with the NULL value, simply filter those rows out with your SQL statement:
    SELECT * FROM my_external_table WHERE colX IS NOT NULL;

  • Table partitioning (intervel partitioning) on existing tables in oracle 11g

    Hi i'm newbie to table partitioning. I'm using 11g. I have table of size 32 gb (which has 22 million records) and i want to apply interval partition on that table. I created a empty table with a partition having columns same as source table and take dump of the source table and import into the new partition table. can you please suggest how to import table dump into new table? also is there any other better idea to do the same.

    Hi,
    imp user/password file=exp.dmp ignore=y
    The ignore=y causes the import to skip the table creation and continues to load all rows.
    On the other hand, you can insert data into the partitioned table with a subquery from the non-partitioned table such as follows;
    insert into patitioned_table
    select * from original_table;
    Hope it helps,

  • Differences Between Weblogic 10 and Weblogic 11g

    Hi,
    I like to know the differnces b/w Weblogic 10 and Weblogic 11g, can someone provide those information.
    your help will be highly appriciated!!
    Regards,
    Sarath

    Here is a list that I understand as critical/major differences:
    1. JDK has changed from 1.5 to 1.6 (WLS10.0 uses JDK 1.5 and WLS10.3 uses JDK 1.6)
    2. Console has been improved with great improvements in performance and when it is deployed
    3. WLS10.3 is fully JEE5.0 EJB compliant while WLS10.0 is only JEE5.0 Entity bean compliant
    4. New deployment features like fast-swap and on-demand
    5. WLDF enhancements
    6. ASML2.0 support was introduced in 10.3 in terms of Security enhancements
    7. JDBC4.0 supportability
    AND a lot more (but the above are more significant to me)
    (This is not a comprehensive list of all the differences)
