Inter row calculation

Hi all,
In my region select query (SELECT A,B,C,D FROM SOURCE ).
I have edited the Report attributes to have 'Select Static LOV' in column A and 'Select Static LOV' in column B.
These Static lovs for A & B are distinct column(different) value of a table X.
Now i want Col D in Tabular report to be calculated on the base of values in A & B
Is there a way to do that, any help will be highly appreciated

Hi
It would be greate if you put an example on apex.oracle.com

  • Inter-row rules

    Hi,
I have product and stores dimensions, some measures and a custom measure 'Obs'. One of the measures is 'Type', others are 'saling_price' and 'cost_price'.
Now I have to run a model and every time a rule is not satisfied by one product/store, the 'Obs' column must be updated with the reason why it failed.
Here is an example of one simple rule (horizontal rule):
    - For each product,store: IF cost_price > saling_price THEN Obs='ERROR 1';
What I don't now is how to handle rules that require inter-row calculation (vertical rules). For example: 'All Type 1 products must have a saling_price lower than Type 2 products'.
Is it possible to model this type of rules?
    Thanks for the help,
    Ricardo

In the above report , Material wise calculation for Absolute error is correctly calculating ,  BUT when it comes to Over all Result  its just summing up all  materials Absolute error and showing .
What i want in  over all result  is Absolute error should be calculated as overall Final Forecast - Over all actual ( I.e formula should be applied to over all result also ).
I tried with exception aggragation and other stuff but nothing is working .
Can any one Help me  to apply the formula for result rows also ...
Helpfull inputs will be appriciated with points .
    thanks in advance

Hi All  thanks for ur replies .
I solved my issue  as  following  .
Formual for Absolute Error = Final forecast - Actuals
For Absolute error  formula  there are some ' exceptional aggregation ' and 'calculate result value as '  .
I removed these ' exceptional aggregation ' and 'calculate result value as '  and refreshed the report  now  in result rows
' Absolute Error'  is calculating   as desired i.e by using result rows  ' final forecast' value & ' actuals' values in the formulae .

  • Row Calculation (Navigation Ragged Dimension)

    Hello,
I have a row calculation/navigation question with the Olap Analysis product in 4.1 compare to 3.1.  Currently we are in BOE3.1 but want to go BI4.1.
We use SSAS 2008 as the main source for OLAP.  In 3.1 when we don't want to see a member (in this case central), we de-select it from
the members list, the total remain the same.  In 4.1 we cannot do that anymore.  If we de-select central from the members list,
the total re-calculate as depicted by the example below.  Basically the row column become a filter. Is there a option for this so the data doesn't recalculate.  We want the same behavior as 3.1
On a related note. The navigation on the slice and dice in analysis is more cumbersome in 4.1, you always have to go the the layout
to change filter.  Is there a way to make it more similar to 3.1. Less clicking

  • Row Calculation Line Height Issue: Not Same Height as Column Lines

    Hi,
I am using BI 4.1 SP4 with Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
When building calculations, I have noticed that the height of the line (in the rows section) is not the same as the line in the columns section. It is slightly larger. By the third calculation, it becomes very noticeable. I know that I can adjust the height and make it bigger, but I can not make is smaller.
Please let me know how I can resolve this unalignment issue in the crosstab:
    Thank you,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
I'm afraid I can't say. This appears to be an IE10 rendering issue, rather than an SAP issue. I did some further testing and I don't see the problem in IE11 or Chrome but it is very apparent in IE10. I've included a screenshot from IE11 and as you can see the table is not misaligned.

  • Results row calculation between two column result  in BEx Report.

I want to use weighted average method between two keyfigure.

    A         10        5
    B          6        4
    C          3        2
    Result     19     b]4.21</b>
    how 4.21 is ((105)+(64)+(3*2))/total of Kf1(ie 19)
    ( A value(Kf1Kf2)+ B value (Kf1Kf2) + C Value (Kf1*Kf2))/total value (Kf1) = 4.21
is it possible to achieve the above result for Kf2.

and also i can't  able to use Calculation, since this report contains lot of columns and if i use  the formula, one more result column i have to include in all key figures and also business users not able to understand the report....
Is it possible to create a variable structure, for example user is executing for 10 days , the structure should display for only 10 days ans also i create structure for 31 days (ie one month)..

  • ADF Faces Table with a Total row calculated?

    Hi there OTN Community:
    I have another doubt.
I have an EJB dataControl, and i use one of his collections to display the data in an ADF Faces Table. One of the columns of the Adf Faces Table is numeric, And i have to display the Total of that Column.
I only shows 10 rows per screen, but i need to show the total of all the rows.
    How i can calculate it?

Mmmmm..... You're right!...I will try that.
    Thanx :)
Hey, and....You know? i was thinking, maybe i can get the iterator and then capture each object of the iterator to compute the total. That is a crazy idea?, its possible?, its not recommended? or its ok too? :P
    Thanx in advance.

  • Problem using Ago function

    Hi all,
My problem is that when i use ago function it displays next months value for example first column shows balance of april month and next to it ago column displays balance of the may not march. I am really confused. Please help,
    AGO(SR02BriefIncome.sr02_cube.BALANCE, SR02BriefIncome.timesDim."times Detail", 1);

    Hi Nico,
Another question in relation to Ago function; I need to get value/balance a year ago which is 12 months ago, and also previous year's last months balances; the problem is that Ago function takes only integer, I have tried to put a variable, Is there is way i can get balances of the previous year's last month because it will be much easier to get it using built-in ago function.
Also i need help with your answer for thread How to use row values in Presentation or Administration for calculation

"Yes, I forgot this one. Of course, this solution work when you have a pivot column.
If you talk about period to period comparison, really often I must do a share like this one : ($2-$5)/$5.
And unfortunately, this is not possible in a calculated item. Is it ?"

  • OBIEE Answers and filtered totals

We try to prepare an reports in OBIEE Answers and we want to take filtered totals of a field.
    Let me clear
We have a field values as
    FieldSampleTotal VAlues
    Name1                           1000
    Nema1 Detail 1 20
    NAme1 Detail 2 980
    NAme2                           2000
Because of some hieararchy is data we want to calculated sum of just bold lines.
    it means total is 3000
    Thansks a lot.

An other option for inter-rows calculation will be to use the filter in one column formula of a table view :
    FILTER(Fact.Values USING (Dim.Colunm = 'Name1' or Dim.Colunm = 'Name2'))I don't see the layout of your final report.
Do you want to see the details rows ?

  • Date tool calculation dimension is causing duplicated rows in drill through

I am implementing a date tool as per:
    http://www.sqlbi.com/articles/datetool-dimension-an-alternative-time-intelligence-implementation
I have my date tool dimension shell with 10 rows, a row for each calculation. I've created the scope statements in the cube. The date tool is working with the calculations I've created.
I've found a problem with drill through in Excel 2013 where it returns duplicate rows. It looks like its a cross join of rows that should be returned by the number of rows (calculations) in my date tool dimension. If I remove the date tool dimension from
the cube I have the correct number of rows so I know it's definitely the cause. I commented out the scope statements to see if that was the problem and it isn't. There must be something else on the configuration that I've missed but I can't spot it. Any ideas?

  • Percentage Calculation for result rows

    Hi
I have problem with percentage calculation on result rows. I have 2 KFs A and B, the result is calulated by setting 'calculate result rows as' to 'summation'.
But in KF 'C' (which is calculated as A/B*100 ),
Now the probles is the systen picks up original values of A and B for calculation of C in result rows.
i.e. system picks up values of result rows for A and B for
setting 'calculate result rows as' to 'nothing defined'.
Any ideas on how to fix this.

  • Auto calculation row, work around for mixed calc methods?

I have a problem with an auto calculation row. One of the columns in the report is a percentage so I want the total row to calculate using a column formula, instead of the Auto Calculation Row calculation method setting.
We're using the auto calculation row as a way to churn through many Entity members, displaying financial totals for 4 Account category groupings for each Entity member.
For each Entity, those 4 rows display the data they're supposed to, and the auto calc row generates the 'Total', which is the calculation method it is set to do.  With 2 columns in play, it works like this:
A1 through A4 display data, and are summarised in [A][Total Row]
B1 through B4 display data, and are summarized in [B][Total Row]
An updated requirement for a % column came up, and now we're trying to get that to display properly in column [C].
[C] is created as a formula column
The formula is set to [B]/[A], and formatted to display 0.01 precision
We expect each row to use this formula, and for rows 1 through 4 it does.
However, for [Total Row], it does not calculate [B]/[A]... instead it calculates [C][1]+[C][2]+[C][3]+[C][4]
This makes sense in terms of what the 'auto calculation row' is designed to do, or as to how it is explained in FR documentation.
The calculation method is set to 'Total', so it just adds up all of the data.
But we're looking for a combination of settings or a work-around that permits the Auto Calculation row feature to be used with mixed calculations as I've described.
    We're on FR 11.1.2.362
    Thanks
    Troy

Can you use the logic that you specified in the data model (query) to generate the required data and then use it in the pivot table? That would be the easiest way to do it. Tweaking the code to include the conditional logic/calculated measures is not going to be straightforward..

    Kranthi,
Thank you for the reply.  I understand what you are saying; however, when I run a report for 2008.Total, the balances that were loaded in 2007.012 and subsequently carried-forward are not showing up in the report.  I'm assuming that the beginning balances should be showing up on this report, correct?  I am running the report for all members of each dimension in the application, so I don't believe its an issue with my current view.
