Result Row calculation
Hi result rows calculation is not happening properly in result rows as per the formula .
Formual for Absolute Error = Final forecast - Actuals
Follwing is the report out put
Material Period01
10324401 Final Forecast 733,490.000 LB
Actuals 555,583.67 LB
Absolute Error 177,906.33
10326795 Final Forecast 1,306,894.935 LB
Actuals 1,406,158.27 LB
Absolute Error 99,263.33
10329435 Final Forecast 188,000.000 LB
Actuals 192,000.00 LB
Absolute Error 4,000.00
10580325 Final Forecast 76,105.938 LB
Actuals 215,999.82 LB
Absolute Error 139,893.89
10580427 Final Forecast 158,733.076 LB
Actuals 0.00 LB
Absolute Error 158,733.08
Overall Result Final Forecast 2,463,223.949 LB
Actuals 2,369,741.76 LB
Absolute Error 579,796.62
In the above report , Material wise calculation for Absolute error is correctly calculating , BUT when it comes to Over all Result its just summing up all materials Absolute error and showing .
What i want in over all result is Absolute error should be calculated as overall Final Forecast - Over all actual ( I.e formula should be applied to over all result also ).
I tried with exception aggragation and other stuff but nothing is working .
Can any one Help me to apply the formula for result rows also ...
Helpfull inputs will be appriciated with points .
thanks in advance
Hi All thanks for ur replies .
I solved my issue as following .
Formual for Absolute Error = Final forecast - Actuals
For Absolute error formula there are some ' exceptional aggregation ' and 'calculate result value as ' .
I removed these ' exceptional aggregation ' and 'calculate result value as ' and refreshed the report now in result rows
' Absolute Error' is calculating as desired i.e by using result rows ' final forecast' value & ' actuals' values in the formulae .

Results row calculation between two column result in BEx Report.
I want to use weighted average method between two keyfigure.
for example consider the following secnario.
CH Kf1 Kf2
A 10 5
B 6 4
C 3 2
Result 19 b]4.21</b>
how 4.21 is ((105)+(64)+(3*2))/total of Kf1(ie 19)
( A value(Kf1Kf2)+ B value (Kf1Kf2) + C Value (Kf1*Kf2))/total value (Kf1) = 4.21
is it possible to achieve the above result for Kf2.
With regards,
HariHello,
I cannot able to use Excel Macro functionality since it is a drill down report and report cells varies based upon the selection parameter.
and also i can't able to use Calculation, since this report contains lot of columns and if i use the formula, one more result column i have to include in all key figures and also business users not able to understand the report....
Is it possible to create a variable structure, for example user is executing for 10 days , the structure should display for only 10 days ans also i create structure for 31 days (ie one month)..

Percentage Calculation for result rows
Hi
I have problem with percentage calculation on result rows. I have 2 KFs A and B, the result is calulated by setting 'calculate result rows as' to 'summation'.
But in KF 'C' (which is calculated as A/B*100 ),
Now the probles is the systen picks up original values of A and B for calculation of C in result rows.
i.e. system picks up values of result rows for A and B for
setting 'calculate result rows as' to 'nothing defined'.
Any ideas on how to fix this.
Thanks

Table Interface - Overall Results Row
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to manipulate the contents of the Overall Results Row calculated by OLAP using a Table Interface?
Hi,
Go through this Help Document on Table Interface. U will get a clear idea.

Calculated key-figures are wrong in result rows
Hi,
I developed a BEx query which shows profi-centers and materials in the rows, and the price, the amount and the amount-value in the columns.
Price and amount are basic key-figures on the cube, the value is calculated via a calculated key-figure in the query (price*amount).
Now I have added result rows an profit-center level in the workbook. Everything works fine, BUT when I hide the materials, the result-row on profit-center level is calculated wrong.
Is there any possibility to hide the material-lines without having the resul-rowts calculated wrong? Is there any feature like "caculate material in background but hide in the workbook"?
I don´t like to create other basic key-figures on cube level, as this is only an example for lots of calculated key-figures which I use.
Thanks for your help,
PatrickHi Patrick,
Since the prices and amounts are on the material level, therefore the calculation for amount value will be correctly done only when you have materials in the rows.
Now when you hide the materials, then the system would not know on what basis to do the calculation: I'll explain with an example.
Let's take four materials which have the same profit center assignment. But the prices for each of them are different and so are the amounts. Now if you remove the materials from the rows, then say the system calculates amount-value by taking the average price and multiply that with the total amount of the four materials. That would also give an incorrect result - isn't it?
So there is no way to define what the system should do when material is removed from the rows.
So material would be the minimum required granularity for such a report to show correct results.

We are moving from Bex 3.5 to Bex 7.0 and using Analysis for Office 1.4.7
We have queries that do an average for the results rows of dynamic calculations and the queries will not open in Analysis for Office 1.4.7 (example is below)
We get an error message that can be found below
We were able to open the queries in Analysis 1.4.5 with the correct results.
We do not understand why it worked in an older version and not the new one.
Is there something missing in the version 1.4.7 of Analysis for Office that is preventing our queries from running?
We do not want to move back to 1.4.5 because the performance is better in 1.4.7.
Help.....Hi Patty,
I just checked 1.4.7 by making "Calculate Results As.." for Key figure and formula to Average(and also tried others as well). No error is coming in Analysis Office. reason might be because of other reason
Any way, As Tammy Powlas suggested can you check with SP8 -
Key Figure Summation in Result Row with Cumulation Ticked
Hi,
I have a Bex question regarding the summation rows.
I need a Year To Date amount and a Period To Date amount in the report. However, there is no Year To Date key figure available in the cube. So in order to calculate YTD, I'm using the PTD key figure and have Cumulated box ticked mark in Bex.
All looks fine across columns per Vendor. But the results row for the Cumulative Balance is always equal to the results row for Period Balances. I believe this is because the same key figure is used, and it is only reading the amounts in the cube - not the ones calculated on the fly.
Does anyone know how to correct the results row for a cumulated key figure?
Regards,
RhonnieYou have to create two restricted KF; one is PTD restricted to period; the second is PTD restricted in a period range from 01.yyyy to current period.
Hope it helps.

How to display Average, not Sum, in the "Overall Result" row of a report?
Every report I look at or execute that has an Overall Result row always shows a total(sum) of all the cells in the column. I recently came across one that shows the average of all the cells in the column and after looking at the query in BEx Query Designer 7.0 and BEx Analyzer 7.0 I cannot seem to find out where to set this. All of the Key Figures are listed as "Nothing Defined" in the Calculations tab which is exactly what they should be, but where can I set that yellow-highlighted Overall Result row to calculate an average, not a sum?
Example can be found in this picture:
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/6757/pic1yp.jpg
Thanks for the help!My issue was that I was setting my KF's to 'Calculate Result As: Average' within the Query View that I was editing but the change was not showing on my screen when I have that View opened within the Analyzer. Infact, it still is showing totals. But when I execute my Web Template that references this Query View, the graph does display the result row using Averages. Seems to just be a visibility bug, but it is now working.
Thanks for the reminder about that property KP,

How to hide the all rows except the result row in a report?
Hi Experts,
We have a report in which the user is interested to see only the result rows and I need to HIDE the characteristics in the rows. I was successfull in doing the same for Key figures in columns using "Calculate single value as suppress result". But I am not finding a way out to hide the characteristics in the rows.
If I move the characteristics in rows to Free characteristics, the result row is not getting dispalyed. Also, the characteristics are used dynamically by the formulae in columns and hence i cant remove these characteristics from the query. . The user wants the query to contain only one characteristic in the row and the result row for the key figures in columns. The report currently displays Invoice level data for each customer and this needs to be eliminated and it should display the summarised data for every customer. Please suggest how this can be accomplished
Regards,
KavithaMoving the char to free char will show the equivalent of result.
Your issue likely is that this breaks the calculations since you do want the calculations done at detail level.
To achieve this, move your char to free char (say it is 0CUSTOMER).
For the CKF/Formula, go to aggregation tab, set the exception aggregation as Total (or whatever it was in standard behavior) and specify reference characteristic (in this case 0CUSTOMER), also check the 'Before aggregation' if you have that checkbox there.
This will ensure the calculation is done at detail level even though the char is not included in the rows.
If you have multiple chars to be moved to free char but included in detailed calculation, you will need to build cascading CKFs (CKF1 with ref char1, CKF2 eq to CKF1 with exception aggr on ref char2...and so on).
Added:
I understand you do want 0CUSTOMER in there, but something else (let us say 0DOCNO) removed. Use 0DOCNO in place of 0CUSTOMER in the case described above.

Getting descrepency in the result row of the Query
Hi All,
I am executing a query which is having 4 Keyfigures and 2 formulas.
I am getting wrong result in the query for formulas.
Below is the query structure
f1 f2 f2%f1 f3 f4 f4%f3
date
1
2
792 408 51.78 9647 8403 88.57
All the keyfigures - result is set as total
Formula - result -nothing is defined(under calculation tab)
The result I am expecting for column 3 is 408/792 = 51.51
The result I am expecting for column 6 is 8403/9647=87.10
To get the expecte result what changes i need to do to the formula.
Thanks
JagadeeshHi Anand,
Thanks for your reply.
If i change it to summation, it will give me sum in the result row.
I am not looking for summation, i want percentage for (overall result F2/overall result F1).
Thanks

Filter Where KF Results Row Equal Zero
I want to write a query that shows cost centre line item data but I only want to see cost centres where the overall amount comes back tro zero. Anybody any idea how I filter out other cost centres where the overall amount doesnt come back to zero? I cant filter by key figure and I dont understand how I put a condition against the result row for a cost centre as cost centre isnt the only row as I want see spend against all cost centres. Does that make sense? Any help greatly appreciated.
Ok. I suggests you the following
for eg if A, B and C is the KF's used for 'total amount' calculation.
then please calculate that total amount in the infoprovider level itself and give it as an infoobject.
that infoobject you can use in declaring an exception in you BW qeury .

Any ideas to crack this .
All your valuable inputs are highly appreciated .

HariDear Suman
Thank you so much for your reply .
PY Mix and Val Gr KFs both key figures has got same definition(Same formula ).So i cant use Summation for both KYF in Exp Agge
For Val Gr -Result Row should be sum of values in Column , i have maintained no settings .And showing value as expected
Val Gr -(CKF)
1,015.68
52,486.50
2,836.12
45,582.84
1,01,921.15 -Result (Sum along columns)
For PY Mix - Result Row should be as per formula defined , i have maintained summation in Exp aggregation .And showing value as expected
PY Mix -(CKF)
1,015.68
52,486.50
2,836.12
45,582.84
-2,07,747.50-Result (According to formula used )
But When i use these to kyf in another formula Result row are not calculating as per Expectation
PY MIX DIFF = Val Gr - PY Mix
3,09,668.66 (expected )
= 0 (but final result )
any other inputs to make it

Query Designer - Formulas in Results Row
Hi,
Is it possible to have a formula based purely on values in the results row? e.g.
Col A Col B Col C ColDl
Results Row 4 5 1 40%
Where Col D is Col A as a percentage of the total. I can create a formula for individual rows but not for the results row where it just seems to sum individual percentages.
ThanksHi Gaurav,
i have done what you have suggested:
In query designer > Properties for a Key Figure > Calculations > Calculate Result As > Nothing Defined,
I have set that, despite the rows are calculated as per formula defined in the key figure but the result field is not. The formula is only applied for the rows but not for the result. The result is olthough i have the setting you suggested a summation of that whole column and thats wrong.
Can you or anybody else help.
Thanks and regards,

Result Row in the query output
Hi,
If I restrict a characteristic by hierarchy then I cant have the result row displayed. If the hierarchy active is removed then the result row gets displayed. All characteristics are marked to show the result row.
This characteristic is Account Number. If in the query definition I remove the restriction on account numbers and just select hierarchy active and the required hierarchy in the properties then I get the result row in the output. But now it also displays all the unassigned account numbers in a separate node Not Assigned Account Number (s).
I cant even restrict it in the output with hierarchy active selected. When I do select filter value in the output the options Include in Selection and exclude from Selection are grayed out and hence cant select it.
Please advice on this issue
Thank you,
samHi Jaya,
I think you misunderstood my issue.
My problem is not that i do not want to see the field. But instead, i do not want to see only the results row in the query output.
I need to have the results to populate a calculation via sumct formula.
My question is, can sumct be populated if i hide/supress RESULT row ?

Hello, I have a question regarding charting only the results in WAD. Currently, I have a % Lot Acceptance Calculated Key figure and in my Rows "Vendor" Upon executing, I get each individual Vendor counts which fall in the % Lot Acceptance bucket. I then retrieve the results, summed up view but when I chart this in WAD, I do not want any low level results but only the rolled up results. Currently WAD will not chart the results row.
Any suggestions on what approach I should take? Should I possibly be pre-calculating the % Lot Acceptance in the Update rules and create a new field % Lot Acceptance which holds the "resulted" value? Should I utilize Virtual Characteristics/Key Figures? Thanks for your help in advance.Arun, thank you for the welcome in the other thread.
I've tried your suggestion to remove any drill downs to get the "resulted" view but in doing so once I remove the characteristic Vendor from the rows, I do not get a value for any of the buckets. The Characteristic Vendor needs to be in the rows in order to get any values. But this in turn of course brings in each vendor which I somehow want to hide in order to get the resulted view to chart in WAD.
I've tried switching the results from Row to Column but that does not seem to be helping.
Thank you again for the suggestions.
