Interactive Report Hide all customisations

Hi,
I have an IR and have created a number of highlights.
What I want to do is hide the search bar (done by the option in the report) but also the details of the highlights (it shows these in a list just above the report)
Is there anyway to hide these? Or modify a template so it doesn't add these?
Thanks
Richard

I can see in the HTML that there is an apexir_CONTROL_PANEL table. If I set the style to display: none; I get what I want....but how do I do this in the application and not hacking the HTML :)

    hi
    I am making an interactive report,but my hide statement is not working.my code is like:
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      SELECT matnr

          ENDLOOP.
    here when my at line-selction is working,in select query,hide is not updated,its contains the last record value f itab1,where it should have value i selected from display.
    thus my seconday list is showing the value of last record of itab1 all time.

  • APEX_ITEM on Interactive Report losing all the data.

    Hi!
    I'm having some troubles with some apex_items on interactive report.
    The problem happens when i save the interactive report with apex_items and a validation in some of the items fail then i lose all the data entered.
    I made i test application to you guys see the problem and try to solve it.
    URL: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/
    The scheme is Sn4k8
    User: guest
    Password: 123654g
    To see the application: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=20135:1:
    The application is Interactive Report Example / Page number 1
    A example to test is type on the fields values and then type a start date bigger then the end date this is cause a validation error and you will see all your data entered lost.
    I tryed to find something on the web but i could not find nothing if you guys know something to help post it.

    I think there is a solution with java or pl/sql.
    Try to use the example application and type values in the fields and then type "d" at some date. This will cause a exception and will redirect to a apex erro page, if you click at "ok link", you will come back to the interactive report page and you will see that all your data remains intact.
    I think there is a solution...

  • Interactive Report Hide Filters

    I have built an interactive report with some formatting filters.
    I do not want the users to change anything in this report, so I have disabled
    the search bar.
    They are still able to access these filters and change and delete them.
    How can I stop this ?

  • Using Oracle Stored Procedure in Interactive Reporting

    Hello,
    i'm trying to use Oracle Store procedure in Interactive reporting but all i get are errors.
    My env:
    Interactive Reporting 9.3.1
    Oracle Database 10.2
    I created OCE as ODBC/OBDC. Tables are returned and Stored Procedure entry is enabled.
    If i use "microsoft ODBC for Oracle" i can see stored procedure list but i get this error:
    SQL API: [SQLExecDirectW], SQL RETURN: [-1], SQL STATE: [42000], SQL NATIVE ERROR: [6550], SQL MESSAGE: [[Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle][Oracle]ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
    PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'TEST_PDC_RECORDSET'
    If i use Oracle's odbc i get: "Error in function sequence".
    If i use Merants (5.2) odbc i cannot retreive stored procedure list. (list is empty)
    Note.
    My stored procedure works (tested via sqlplus).
    thank u daniele

    Returning (or sending in) multiple rows directly from (or to) a stored procedure is not currently possible. I have been in contact with SAP on this subject earlier, and they suggest using a web service to do the job. I used this as a work around, calling the stored procedure from a web service. I send in VC tables to this web service, and this in turn contacts my stored procedure.
    The problem is related to the connector framework in the J2EE environment.
    I am on 7.0 sps 17
    If you use stored procedure single value parameters of type varchar, number ... then VC has no problem communicating with your procedures.
    Good luck

  • Making raw breakes in Interactive report

    Hello
    I have build an application, which is a grading system - it is going to be used for a competition.
    In the main page of the application, I have an interactive report with all of the competitors, which are ordered by the highest marks they get.
    The top six competitors are going to the next round of the competition.
    I need to separate the first 6 rows of the report, from the rest of the report.
    Is it possible to make a break after the first 6 records of the interactive report? May be by modifying a select statement?
    Thank you for consideration.

    Wow, it's getting harder and harder to read posts here. People seem to be very casual with their writing. I don't know if it's because the forum is multi-national or people have gotten used to "IM-speak" or what.
    I'm just saying... How do people expect others to want to answer their question if they don't put in the time to ask it so it can be comprehended?
    Sorry, that was my rant for the day.
    As for answering your question, you would need to change your report query to add a column like this:
    row_number() OVER(ORDER BY competitor_score DESC) AS score_rank
    If you simply want to highlight those who go to the next round, customize the Interactive report to highlight rows where the score_rank <= 6.
    If you want the IR to to Group By, customize the IR to create a calculation, where if the score_rank <= 6, then "Move Forward", otherwise "Going Home". Then have the IR group by that new column. Or enhance your SQL query to do it. Something like this should work:
    SELECT d.*,
    CASE
    WHEN d.score_rank <= 6 THEN
    'Move Forward'
    ELSE
    'Going Home'
    END AS progress_groups
    FROM (SELECT ...,
    ROW_NUMBER() OVER(ORDER BY competitor_score DESC) AS score_rank
    FROM ...) d;
    Good luck,
    Stew

  • Pass IR Filters to Interactive Report

    I am calling my Interactive Reports from a menu with IR filters ('SCHOOL' and 'YEAR') being passed to the report. I'm wondering if the interactive report queries all the data first and then applies the IR filters (which would be a performance problem). I ran the report in debug, but I'm not really sure how it evaluates the SQL. Does anybody know how passing IR filters to report work in the execution of the SQL?

    The information was not specific to rewrite, I was merely trying to show how tracing could be enabled to determine what the optimizer is doing (which was appropriate to the rewrite question). It will also show you the query actually being performed and the execution plan.
    This information would allow you to see the query being passed to oracle by Apex and what predicates are in the query passed, which would go some way to answering the original question.
    To your question a'n oracle SQL query is an oracle SQL query' - I'm not quite sure what you mean. Two differently constructed queries over the same tables, returning the same results can differ wildly in performance. Understanding the optimizer and the decisions it makes will change the way in which you write queries.
    I've generally found out that the best way to determine what happens behind the scenes is to have a look. Getting information from the experts is fantastic, but working it out yourself or even just testing to confirm the answers you are given helps understanding even more.

    Looking at the rownum clause, it will speed up the query if the ORDER BY clause is removed. If you are ordering the results, the entire result set must be returned first in order to get the first x rows. Without ordering, this is required.

  • Interactive report - how to change language in labels

    Hello All,
    I am writing an application, which uses an interactive report with all these great possibilities as: Sort, Filter, Control, Highlight, Aggregate etc.).
    The problem is that some users do not understand English language and they would like to see equivalents for above labels in their home language :) (let's say - in polish).
    Does anybody know how to do this?
    Thanks for the answer
    Best regards
    Jarek Zurek

    Jarek,
    This document should prove very helpful for all your work with IRs.
    http://tunahuntress.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/apexir_goodbadugly.pdf
    Be sure to check out the recommended reading list at the bottom.
    Finally, Paul McMillan helped me define custom labels for the display (but not the menu items) here:
    Re: Interactive Reports - Larger Actions Menu Image doesn't fit in IE?
    Note that this javascript source should go in the page template's footer (right after </BODY>).
    Good luck,

  • Hide/show functionality of a column in  interactive report

    Hi ,
    Is it possible to remove the hide functionality from a single column in an interactive report ?
    I have an interactive report with the first column being a check box. On the column name I have added the toggle checkall/uncheck all functionality.Now when the user clicks on the check all, the hide column option shows up.
    I do not want the users to be able to hide this column.I was able to remove the sort/filter/control break/aggregate/compute chart
    from unchecking each of these from the report attributes of the column.However I could not figure out how to remove the hide column popup that shows up when you click on the checkbox column name.
    Appreciate any response ...
    Thanks,
    Dippy

    Hi,
    I believe you will want to add a height specification to allow for multiple lines.  And you may want/need to specifiy how you want lines to wrap.
    Add (for example):
      height: 60px;
      white-space: nowrap;
      word-wrap: break-word;
    There are defaults and several options for white-space and word-wrap.  You may want to look them up and give them a try for comparison.

  • How to hide some column filter operators in Interactive Report

    Hi,
    I have an APEX 4.2 application what includes Interactive Report page.
    Is there possibilty to hide or disable some filter operators in column filter?
    But I don't want to disable all filter functionality for end users.
    For example how to hide/disable operator "matches regular expression".
    Some filter operators are too complicated for end users.
    I have searhced but not found solution.
    regards,

    I wouldn't really recommend this. Users will quickly recognise what works for them and avoid options that they do not currently understand. However, over time—through training or advice from more experienced users—they may come to understand and use all of the available features. Blocking access (especially in a non-standard way) to options that users may eventually need is likely to result in unnecessary development work now and at some (possibly inconvenient) time in the future.
    That said, this really isn't difficult to implement using CSS. Use your browser web inspector to identify which filter types are to be blocked, using the value attribute of the filter Operator select list in the generated IR HTML. For example, in APEX 5.0 a filter operator select list looks like:
    <select id="R70597672218719366505_STRING_OPT" class="a-IRR-operator" data-column-type="STRING" title="Operator" name="p_ignore_10" size="1">
      <option value="=">=</option>
      <option value="!=">!=</option>
      <option value="is null">is null</option>
      <option value="is not null">is not null</option>
      <option value="like">like</option>
      <option value="not like">not like</option>
      <option value="in">in</option>
      <option value="not in">not in</option>
      <option value="contains">contains</option>
      <option value="does not contain">does not contain</option>
      <option value="regexp_like">matches regular expression</option>
    </select>
    The "matches regular expression" option has the value regexp_like, so the required CSS rule using the IR operator select list class and an attribute selector on the option value is:
    .a-IRR-operator option[value="regexp_like"] {
      display: none;
    Additional selectors for other filter types can be added to this rule as required, for example:
    .a-IRR-operator option[value="regexp_like"],
    .a-IRR-operator option[value="is not null"] {
      display: none;
    to eliminate the "is not null" filter.
    To implement this for all IRs in your application, create a custom CSS style sheet containing the rule, upload it to your workspace, and reference it in all of the page templates used for IR pages.
    This is not a 100% foolproof solution. CSS is not an appropriate way to implement security restrictions. A web-savvy user could use their web inspector to disable the CSS rule and access the blocked filter(s). However there is little risk here as (1) it appears that your users will lack the required expertise; and (2) doing so will only allow them to further filter data they already have access to.

  • HIDE STATEMENT IS MUST OR NOT FOR INTERACTIVE REPORT

    HI,
      IN Interactive Report : without using the hide statement we will made the interactive report? and hide statement do its job after every increase of the sy-lsind please explain..
             thanks
               margani

    IT NOT BE MUST
    <u>HIDE</u>
    This statement stores - in the current list level - the content of the variable dobj together with the current list line whose line number is contained in sy-linno. The data type of the variables dobj must be flat and no field symbols can be specified that point to rows of internal tables, and no class attributes can be specified. The stored values can be read as follows:
    For each user action in a displayed screen list that leads to a list result, all the row values stored using HIDE - that is, the row on which the screen cursor is positioned at the time of the event - are assigned to the respective variables.
    If a list row of an arbitrary list level is read or modified using the statements READ LINE or MODIFY LINE, all the values of this row stored using HIDE are assigned to the respective variables.
    The HIDE statement works independently of whether the list cursor was set. In particular, variables for empty list rows can be stored - that is, rows in which the list cursor was positioned using statements like SKIP.
    The HIDE statement should be executed immediately at the statement that has set the list cursor in the row.
    Outside of classes, constants and literals that cannot be read in list results and in the statement READ LINE can be specified for dobj outside of classes.

  • Hide filter type - row in interactive report

    Hello all,
    how can I deactivate or hide the filter type - row in interactive report and the only option to be filter type - column?
    Is it possible with some javascript?
    Thanks in advance !

    The CSS approach works fine, but I made some improvements:
    1. CSS-Selector is case sensitive
    2. Only select the label with the attribute for="apexir_FILTER_TYPE". Attention: the CSS-Selector for the for-attribute works in IE and Firefox different
    /* Hide IR Filter Type Row */
    #apexir_FILTER_TYPE {
    display:none;}
    /* IE */
    label[htmlFor="apexir_FILTER_TYPE"] {
    display:none;}
    /* Firefox */
    label[for="apexir_FILTER_TYPE"] {
    display:none;}

  • Interactive Report - aggregate with hide - bug or feature?

    We are in the process of converting existing reports to Interactive Reports (IR), and adding a bunch of new ones. We ran into a roadblock when using IR with aggregates. To
    reproduce, I created a test table with region, state, county, city and population columns. I created an interactive report, CONTROL BREAK on "Region", aggregate (SUM) on
    population. The result looked like this.
    <p>
    <b>Result #1:</b>
    <p>
    Region: West
    ************<b>
    State  County         City            Population</b>
    CA     Orange County  Irvine          100
    CA     Orange County  Orange          200
    CA     Los Angeles    Hollywood       300
    CA     Los Angeles    Universal City  400<b>
                          Sum           1,000</b><p>
    When I clicked on City column, and chose to hide it, I expected the IR to resummarize the result to look like this:
    <p>
    <b>Result #2:</b>
    <p>
    Region: West
    ************<b>
    State  County         Population</b>
    CA     Orange County  300
    CA     Los Angeles    700
           Sum          1,000</b><p>
    But what I saw was this:
    <p>
    <b>Result #3:</b>
    <p>
    Region: West
    ************<b>
    State  County         Population</b>
    CA     Orange County  100
    CA     Orange County  200
    CA     Los Angeles    300
    CA     Los Angeles    400<b>
           Sum          1,000</b><p>
    The data in the above result #3 is not presented the in way it should be for the users to comprehend.
    <p>
    In the non-interactive version, we display checkboxes for the users to show and hide the columns. If the column "City" is set by the user to "Hide", then we use the
    condition on the column to hide the City column from the report, and use the query "SELECT ..., CASE WHEN :P10_SHOW_CITY = 'YES' THEN city ELSE NULL END As city, SUM
    (population) FROM .. " to summarize the data. This displays results like the one shown in Result #2.
    <p>
    1. Shouldn't IR re-summarize the data to display results like I have shown in Result #2 when a column is hidden? We are able to achieve this with non-interactive version. Is this a
    bug in IR?
    <p>
    2. Is there a way to get interactive report to display results like the way I have shown in Result #2?
    <p>
    3. Is there a way to retrieve the columns that are set to "HIDE" in IR so that we can modify our SQL to resummarize?
    <p>
    <b><u>Script to reproduce:</u></b>
    <p>
    Create table test_ir(
        region varchar2(50),
        state  varchar2(50),
        county varchar2(50),
        City   varchar2(50),
        population number(4))
    insert into test_ir(region, state, county, city, population) values
    ('West', 'CA', 'Orange County', 'Irvine', 100)
    insert into test_ir(region, state, county, city, population) values
    ('West', 'CA', 'Orange County', 'Orange', 200)
    insert into test_ir(region, state, county, city, population) values
    ('West', 'CA', 'Los Angeles', 'Hollywood', 300)
    insert into test_ir(region, state, county, city, population) values
    ('West', 'CA', 'Los Angeles', 'Universal City', 400)
    select region, state, county, city, population from test_ir<br>
    Thanks.<br>
    <br>
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
    When you add a control break, we do not re-generate the query to do group by. We just do control breaks. In the current version of APEX, to achieve what you are trying to see, you need to create an Interactive report with group by clause. If you want to use a dynamic query, the solution I suggest will not work.
    The good news is in APEX 4.0, we are working to include group by view to an Interactive Report. This will let you select group by columns and aggregate functions to get the Result #2 you are trying to get.
    If you wish to see how this works, we will be able to show if you come to APEXposed 2008, October 29 - 30, at Chicago O'Hare Wyndham.

  • Interactive Report with union all in the query

    I have an interactive report with the following query in the report region:
    select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-1000000000,account,sdesc,uref,
    suserdefined1,trans_notes,samount,detail_notes
    from journal_entries
    union all
    select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-700000000,account,sdesc,uref,
    suserdefined1,trans_notes,stotalamount,detail_notes
    from charge_entries;
    This gets translated as listed below during runtime. I am trying to pass a value to both SELECT statements instead of the just the bottom select statement. Is this possible using interactive reports.
    select
    PROPERTY,
    SADDR1,
    UPOSTDATE,
    SOTHERDATE1,
    ACCOUNT,
    SDESC,
    UREF,
    SUSERDEFINED1,
    TRANS_NOTES,
    SAMOUNT,
    DETAIL_NOTES,
    "JOURNAL_CONTROL-1000000000" "JOURNAL_CONTROL-1000000000"
    from (
    select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-1000000000,account,sdesc,uref,
    suserdefined1,trans_notes,samount,detail_notes
    from journal_entries
    union all
    select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-700000000,account,sdesc,uref,
    suserdefined1,trans_notes,stotalamount,detail_notes
    from charge_entries
    ) r
    where ("PROPERTY" = :APXWS_EXPR_1)
    0.14: IR binding: ":APXWS_EXPR_1"="APXWS_EXPR_1" value="prop1"
    Thanks for any help,
    Jim

    The bottom query is actually the third query, it encompasses the two that are unioned. It is generated by APEX to allow for the search facility - to achieve what you want ignore the larger query, and get your query working in something like SQL developer. Once it's working then put it into APEX, and the search wrapper will be generated.
    select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-1000000000,account,sdesc,uref,
    suserdefined1,trans_notes,samount,detail_notes
    from journal_entries
    where property = :YOUR_CRITERIA
    union all
    select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-700000000,account,sdesc,uref,
    suserdefined1,trans_notes,stotalamount,detail_notes
    from charge_entries
    where property = :YOUR_CRITERIA;
    Then you need to think about how you are using the report, if it is linked to from another report, then create a hidden variable and pass it from the parent.
    If the report is standalone , then you could create an item , that can be edited and when submitted, re-executes the report based on the criteria entered.
