Interactive Reports - First Page / Last Page Navigation

Hi,
I've been trying to implement the First Page / Last Page navigation on my interactive reports using the solution provided by Jari in the following thread:
Column Alignment / Pagination in Interactive Reports
My question is how do I calculate the report max rows to set the value of P1_MAX_ROWS per the following statement:
'I have hidden item P1_MAX_ROWS where I count report max rows using Before Header Computation.'

Would you mind explaining this a little further, Jari?
Do I have to determine the IR filter (via the APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_IR_COND view) in order to create the SQL to calculate the max row count ? Or is it much simpler than that?

Custom pagination for APEX 4.2 interactive report using Page Zero

Hi,
I want to implement an «Custom pagination for APEX 4.2 interactive report» using a «page zero».
I recently migrate from Apex 3.1 to Apex 4.2 and my «Custom pagination for APEX 3.1 interactive report» using a «page zero» is not working any more.
So now I try to adapt an excellent example of Jari Laine for 4.0 but using a page zero.
I put the code JavaScript to Page zero but I must create an dynamic action to fire only for an interactive report region.

Thought I would try once more with my DatePicker question.
On the Apex.Oracle.Com website I have created a 1 page application that has an Interactive Report.

I have 2 questions :
(1) In IE7, press 'Actions', 'Filter'. On the Column dropdown list, select 'Order Timestamp'.
Notice the prompt icon to the right of the 'expression'. This should change to the Datepicker, but in IE7 it does not. Try the samething in Firefox or Chrome and the Datepicker will appear.
Is this a BUG, or does Apex 4.02 not support IE7 ?
(2) In Firefox or Chrome, where you can now see the Datepicker, you will notice that it is the new style picker, not the old style ( called 'classic' ). I want to change it so that it shows the 'classic' datepicker not the new, but cannot see how to do it, if indeed you actually can.
I would really appreciate it if someone could take a look and let me know if I am going mad, or if we need to get all our users onto IE8. We have now gone live with Apex 4.02 and need to resolve these issues.

Multiple Interactive reports per page requirement

Hi,
I've a requirement to create multiple reports say 4 reports on the same page but in different regions.Each and every report has some search and filter criterion so I thought of using Interactive reporting but while creating second one I'm getting error "one intercative report per page is allowed".Is there any workaround method to make this work or I need to use classic report with search fields only?

I tried that it works fine but one problem.I've created four individual reports on four pages and while using this IFRAME logic displaying on fifth page,there I can display all reports but report titles(page titles) are missing like which ever report I display on top is fine with title(comes from corresponding page title) but remaining reports titles are missing or truncated.is there any other way to create and display report titles?

Standard APEX 32 behavior prevents multiple interactive report in a single page.
Is there a way around this limitation?

Can I link from Interactive report Page 1 to Master Detail page 2?

Hi folks-
I know how to create a Page as an Interactive Report; it creates 2 pages automatically (primary page with the great interactive bar) and a 2nd page that's a single record.
I know how to create a Page as Master Detail, whereby I get a tabular list without the super interactive bar, and I can select a record, and get transported to a nice page with 2 regions (master on top, detail on bottom).
I want to have the First page from the Interactive Report, select the record, and go to the 2nd page of a MasterDetail.
Do I create the Interactive Report, and customize the 2nd page, to add a region?
Or, do I create both page types, and redirect from the 1st page of the Interactive Report to the DML Form from the MD report? I tried that, re-assigning the link from the Interactive Report to be a Link to Custom Target, and specify the page # of the Master-Detail page. And it is taking me to the right page, but the data from the selected row is not coming with me, and the detail in the bottom region is not appearing at all.
Can someone please give me a nudge as to the sequence I should be doing?
(As you can tell, I'm new to Apex.... I'm trying to use it to create a prototype or proof-of-concept for a database driven web application)

Yes, I tried that after I wrote to you - and it's fine, but not what I'm after; it's only based on 1 table and I'm working with 2 tables.
Perhaps I can explain in better.
I want one page as an interactive tabular report (of the master records)
I want to select a row, and transfer to a page that has the corresponding row on top (as a form), and a tabular region below of records from a related detail table.
ie, I want page 1 from the Interactive Report, and page 2 of the Master Detail report.
OK - I just took the form page, and added a region below in a tabular report. And I'm getting the data, but I'm getting all the records (not just the ones associated with the single record on top. I figure I need to edit the Region Definition->Source (to specify that the id numbers need to match), but the code is not editable.....
So I am in Structured Query Attributes, and I've Modified the Join Conditions - but I still get all the detail records in the bottom region. I''m trying to add in the ( + ) qualifier, but it doesn't affect anything...
I'm soo close to what i'm trying to do!

Can't see interactive report page pagination icon

Version 3.2.0.00.27
When my interactive report first appears, it displays "1-15" in the pagination region. It does not show an icon to let me display the next 15 rows.
However, if I modify the report (as a user), and save that version (as "temp") so that I now have the "Working Report" and "temp" tabs, the pagination now includes the next page icon (i.e. 1-15 ->)
What do I need to do to have the next-page icon appear in my default report?

Question - Resetting Interactive Reports on Different Pages

Hi,
I currently have 5 pages, each with an Interactive Report. Page 1 contains column links with filters to the other 4 pages.
Once a user has clicked a column link with the relevant column filtered on the Interactive Report on the other page, the only way I can see for the user to reset each Interactive Report is to manually reset the report on each page.
Is there any way to perform the "RIR" or "CIR" clear cache setting on all the Interactive reports for a delimited list of pages via one button click?

Hi Simon,
The scenario could be that the user clicks on 3 different column links on page 1 and the Interactive Reports on those linked pages are filtered. The user is happy with the information and decides that he/she wants to look for completely different data within the Interactive Report on page 2 (3 or4).
When they go to that page, it is still filtered based on the column link. To reset the report, they need to manually select Reset from IR menu. This would need to be done for each of the other pages with previously filtered reports.
The Reset I am looking to perform is almost like when each page is visited. It would be similar to performing a clear page cache on multiple pages and you pass the page number as a parameter from one button click using a PL/SQL block. i.e.
BEGIN
APEX_UTIL.CLEAR_PAGE_CACHE('1');
APEX_UTIL.CLEAR_PAGE_CACHE('2');
APEX_UTIL.CLEAR_PAGE_CACHE('3');
END
Ideally, if there was some way to do something similar for all or specific Interactive reports then it would reduce the number of clicks made by the user.
The application is to be aimed at users, who need to get information with as few clicks as possible.

How to apply an accent-insensitive search to an interactive report?

Hello all!
I'm trying to put an accent-insensitive search on an interactive report here. For example, if I'm on the page that has the interactive report and if I click the column header of the interactive report, I get to see a search bar that dynamically shows the results that match your input. Now, when I enter "jager", I want to see *"Jägermeister"* as a search result. The search must be accent-insensitive, so that I don't have to enter the ä every time.
My code is as follows:

AND NLSSORT(name) IS NOT NULL
ORDER BY NLSSORT(name, 'NLS_SORT=GENERIC_M_AI');As you can see, I first tried getting a result through the SQL Command. It should return the row that has "Jägermeister" as name. However, it doesn't. It tells me "No data found". So, how do I alter my NLSSORT to search accent-insensitive?
Some extra information, I edited the interactive report source to the following:

I found it out!
It's really ridiculous, actually.
Remember this code?
execute immediate ('ALTER session SET NLS_COMP=LINGUISTIC');
execute immediate ('ALTER session SET NLS_SORT=BINARY_AI');Well, this code is perfectly fine. Only, it doesn't execute. This is because it was misplaced...This process is not executed when you place it in the current authentication scheme, under the "Post-Authenticatoin Process" part.
You might wonder why this is, but I have the explanation to that.
You see, when you use an interactive report, the page processing isn't executed when you use the search function of that interactive report... Because it's an interactive report, I guess.
BUT.
An ALTER SESSION from the security attributes, that will execute.
So, the solution to my problem was, in this case:
Go to "Application" --> "Shared Objects" --> "Security Attributes" --> "Database Session" --> "Initialization PL/SQL code". In there, you need to put:
BEGIN
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'ALTER session SET NLS_COMP=LINGUISTIC';
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'ALTER session SET NLS_SORT=BINARY_AI';
END;By doing this, there's no longer any need to edit the source code of the report!
So, that's the solution. I can finally enter text without special characters in it, and get the corresponding data, with special characters... Ahh. :)
I hope this is helpful to others as well now. ;)

APEX_ITEM on Interactive Report losing all the data.

I'm having some troubles with some apex_items on interactive report.
The problem happens when i save the interactive report with apex_items and a validation in some of the items fail then i lose all the data entered.
I made i test application to you guys see the problem and try to solve it.

I think there is a solution with java or pl/sql.
Try to use the example application and type values in the fields and then type "d" at some date. This will cause a exception and will redirect to a apex erro page, if you click at "ok link", you will come back to the interactive report page and you will see that all your data remains intact.
I think there is a solution...

Interactive Report Attributes: Missing a column?

This is for Application Express 3.2.1.00.12
I'm working on a report with the columns pulled in a SQL statement in the Region Definition section of the Interactive Report Attributes screen. We want to alter the column names so they are more user friendly, so on the Report Attributes tab, I'm looking for the column name we wish to alter, but it is not showing up. Now, in the final report, the column is visible with the header from the name of the column from the database, so the system is aware of the column and can display it, but for some reason we can't see it in the Report Attributes tab.
Why would a column be invisible or inaccessible in the Report Attributes tab? There are 100 columns displayed in the Report Attributes: Column Attributes section. Is that the reason I'm missing some columns; 100 is a hard column limit on that page?

In that screen right top is buttons (Cancle, Apply, < and >)

Interactive Report Downloads only showing Column Headings

I have an Interactive Report that is selecting more than 100 columns. I set the defulat to only show a few of the columns (the rest are dedaulted to not show). When I try the download option (pdf, rtf etc.) , it only shows the column headers (no data). The download works when you originally create the Report region with the SQL statement. It seems to break as soon as you do the 'Save Report' - 'As default Report Settings'. Anybody seen this before? It is a bug?

Add a logo to the header definition of an Interactive Report

Hi Folks.
Using Apex 3.1 and BI Publisher.
I am enabling an Interactive Report region to output to PDF & Excel.
Has anyone managed to add a logo to the Header/footer definition in the Print Attributes section?
Is it possible? The region definition does not understand simple HTML syntax.
If anyone would let me know if a) They've done it or b) It ain't possible that would be great.

Just reading through this thread. So perhaps a few comments might be helpful:
- Interactive report regions do currently not support Report Layouts, you're limited to the built-in generic layout and won't be able to include images
- You can add a button to your interactive report region page which could initiate the download of a report query, when doing this, you would get the result set of your report query not the interactive report region, so even if the queries are the same, you might have different filters applied to your interactive report
- You can in fact include static images in your RTF report layouts using the BI Publisher Desktop Word Plug-In and MS Word, so you can have logos etc in your PDF documents. But report layouts currently only work with report queries and classic report regions
- You can also include dynamic images in your PDF, e.g. based on images stored in a BLOB column, there's currently a character escaping issue causing some trouble with this, which will be fixed in 3.1.1, more on that once 3.1.1 is out (soon)
- the print server overwrite is designed to point to a different print server than the one configured for your APEX instance, not to point to a specific report. So if your instance has BI Publisher configured, but for a specific report you want to do some special rendering using your own code, you can write e.g. a JSP, Servlet, etc that's doing the rendering, and then point yout report to that URL
Hope this helps, we do plan to add support for report layout to interactive report regions in the next full release of Application Express

Interactive Report Filter Expression

I am a (new) user not a developer.
The Apex developer has presented me with a web page containing an Interactive Report interface.
I seem to be managing just fine, for the most part, except to make a filter with multiple OR statements.
I can easily make multiple AND statements.
Is there some trick or special way to write the filter statement (OR is this just not possible with Interactive Report - excuse the pun)
Please help, the developer is stumped!

I don't think it's possible (someone can correct me if I am wrong) in 3.2.x, but certainly possible in version 4.
Taken from the Interactive Report help page:
FilterFocuses the report by adding or modifying the WHERE clause on the query. You can filter on a column or by row.
If you filter by column, select a column (it does not need to be one that displays), select a standard Oracle operator (=, !=, not in, between), and enter an expression to compare against. Expressions are case sensitive. Use % as a wild card (for example, STATE_NAME like A%).
If you filter by row, you can create complex WHERE clauses using column aliases and any Oracle functions or operators (for example, G = 'VA' or G = 'CT', where G is the alias for CUSTOMER_STATE).>

Need Help calling Dynamic Action from Link in Interactive Report

Hello I have an Interactive Report. I would like to have a Dynamic Action called when the user selects a row (Clicks a Link).
I am running Application Express 4.0.2.00.07 on Oracle 11gR1.

Sorry for the poorly written original post. I will be much more specific.
I have a Interactive Report on page 40. That report has a column named X_UID that is a link back to page 40 and sets a text item named P40_X_UID in a Region we will call "Form X" with the value of the column. That page refresh also then calls a Automated Row Fetch process to fetch all the values needed for the rest of the page items in the "Form X" region. Also "Form X" region has a conditional display on to only display when P40_X_UID is not null.
What I would like to do:
When the user clicks on link in the IR for X_UID instead of the "Form X" region becoming visible I would like to become modal. I am trying to use a Plug-In named "ClariFit Simple Modal - Show". I have it working with a Dynamic Action when you click a Page Item. But I would like to to work when the link is clicked and the data populated.
