InteractiveForm results in empty PDF

Hi,
i've installed ADS on my WAS6.40 SP9 J2EE Engine and created a web dynpro application in which i've used some nodes/values in the interactiveform.
when I start this application, i see an empty/white object where the intercativeform should be. no errors.
do you have some hints, why this happens / where to look for errors?

i've found an error message in \j2ee\cluster\server0\log\services\XMLFormModule

  • Mail - Empty PDF Attachments when moved from 'Junk' (Hotmail)

    Hi
    I've been using Mail with Hotmail (IMAP) for some time; a recent update resolved the constant errors you'd get when deleting or moving emails between folders.
    However, if I receive a PDF attachement from an unknown sender, this goes into Junk.. I then drag it to my Inbox. Occasionally (not consistently) this results in the PDF (when it finally gets round to resyncing the inbox) refusing to open with the message 'The file <name> could not be opened because it is empty'.
    This is really inconvenient when you get tickets, policy docs etc from a new sender address and then you have to try and get whoever sent it to you to resend.
    Once it has been moved it also appears empty on outlook.com and if you download it you get a zero-byte file.
    This has only happened since the last update to mail - I'm now on Version 7.2 (1874).
    Anyone else seeing this?
    Thanks
    Aaron

    You're welcome.
    It looks like you moved the missing messages into mailboxes stored on the server. Is that correct? Have you checked your .Mac account on the web to see whether they appear there? If they don't, I'm not positive that we'll be able to recover them.
    It also looks like the junk filter isn't working very well in your case (too many false positives). Do the messages that Mail incorrectly treats as junk come from people in your Address Book or in your Previous Recipients list?
    Verify/repair your disk first (not just permissions), as described here:
    The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
    After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, and making sure that there's enough space available on the startup disk (a few GB, plus the space needed to make a backup copy of the Mail folder), try this:
    1. Quit Mail if it's running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Make a backup copy of this folder, just in case something goes wrong -- e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down.
    3. Locate Envelope Index and move it to the Trash. If you see an Envelope Index-journal file there, delete it as well.
    4. Move the entire "Mac-" account folder to the Trash. Note that you can do this with IMAP-type accounts because they store mail on the server and Mail can easily re-create them. Do not trash any "POP-" account folders (if there were any), as that would cause all mail stored there to be lost.
    5. Open Mail. It will tell you that your mail needs to be "imported". Click Continue and Mail will proceed to re-create Envelope Index -- Mail says it's "importing", but it just re-creates the index if the mailboxes are already in Mail 2.x format.
    Post back with your observations.
    Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user's home folder.

  • Result is empty error in XPath

    Hi,
    I am getting the following error coming from an "Assign" activity that copies from a child element of one variable (child of message type = M1) to another variable (which is of type element same as that of that child of M1).
    I am consistently getting the following error :
    "Error in evaluate <from> expression. The result is empty for the XPath expression .
    <<from element name>> "
    Does anyone know why ?
    Thanks

    That message usually occurs when you point to a non-existing child. When you're using child nodes, you'll have to make sure you're pointing to the right node, for example by using [position() = bpws.getVariableData('idx'), or using an XSLT with a 'for each'.
    Post the variable definition and the assign here, if  you need more input.

  • Empty PDF in IE after opening FDF directly from Outlook

    Hi,
    im currently facing a old/known problem and i found no optimal solution for it.
    One of our clients migrated from XP to Win7 and since that the opening of a FDF-file from Outlook only opens the empty PDF in IE (Internet Explorer).
    (I found the problem in this forum, but no solution: "FDF file not opening in IE 8 with Adobe reader 9 or Adobe pro 9" - http://forums.adobe.com/message/3753591#3753591 )
    I did some investigation and found, that the problem seems to be the Folder "C:\Users\MYUSER\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files", where Outlook saves the FDF-file temporarily to open it with IE. (this folder is a Windows-'Systemfolder', the FDF-file can be found in a hidden subfolder 'Content.Outlook\????????\' (??..?? are various alphanumeric chars))
    If you browse to that folder and opens the FDF manually it shows the same behaviour (only empty PDF) as opened with Outlook.
    If you copy the FDF out of the 'Temporary Internet Files' eg. to 'C:\Users\MYUSER\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\' or Desktop and then opens the FDF the PDF will be opened correctly filled within IE.
    After playing a lot with IEs Security-Settings i found that disabling the 'protected mode' for the 'Internet'-zone solves the problem and PDFs get opened filled, but for security reasons this is not an option (IE warns on disabling 'protected mode' that's a risk for your computer).
    Another way I found was using another temp-path for Outlook-attachments - defined by registry-key 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security\OutlookSecureTempFolde r'  - eg. 'C:\temp' (our client is currently evaluating this solution - it's also not perfect for security reasons)
    Any other ideas to solve this problem (except my initially one - using Firefox ;-) - i think Firefox is a perfect solution, but sadly not accepted by the client)?
    thanks

    I hate to bring up an old post, but I also have the same issue.  We also found that disabling the UAC solved the issue, but is not an acceptable solution for our client either.
    I went on MS forum asking what the UAC might be doing and was told to come ask the Adobe forums (how convenient)
    So if anyone has found anything on this subject, I'm all ears!

  • The result is empty for the XPath expression

    Hi friends
    Please, could anyone help-me with this issue? My BPEL process was working yesterday and stoped today...
    I think I´m facing a namespace problem.
    If I start my process using BPEL Console, filling the "HTML form" option, all works ok.
    If my process is started by a call from another bpel process, my XPath query gives me an error, but the 2 received messages are "almost" egual:
    Using BPEL Console:
    <RejectionMessage>
    <part name="message" >
    <RejectedMessage ns1:BatchId="" ns1:PrimaryKey="" ns1:RejectionId="invalid_msg_processName_token1_token2_token3" ns1:BatchInfo="" >
    <MessageHeader/>
    <MessagePayload/>
    <RejectionReason/>
    </RejectedMessage>
    </part>
    </RejectionMessage>
    Started by another BPEL Process:
    <RejectionMessage>
    <part name="message" >
    <RejectedMessage RejectionId="INVALID_MSG_BatchTest_Read_20060418_101233_0463" BatchId="" BatchInfo="" PrimaryKey="" >
    <MessageHeader/>
    <MessagePayload> AgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgIE1aIEpBSVJPUyAg MDYwMzA4MTAwMQ0K </MessagePayload>
    <RejectionReason> ORABPEL-11008</RejectionReason>
    </RejectedMessage>
    </part>
    </RejectionMessage>
    XPath Query:
    bpws:getVariableData('RejectionMessage','message','/ns2:RejectedMessage/@ns2:RejectionId')
    In the first case, it works.
    In the second case, it raises a "The result is empty for the XPath expression" error.
    As you can see, this process is used as a "Rejection Handler" process: It implements the interface defined in RejectionMessage.wsdl
    Could you help me?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi All
    I find a workaround to the problem. I´m almost sure it is a bug in BPEL.
    As you can see on my previous post, the diferences between the two messages is that the attributes have qualified names on one message and unqualified names on the other: ns1:BatchId, ns1:PrimaryKey...
    The schema definition for this message (JCAErrorHandling.xsd) define that attribute names MUST be qualified (attributeFormDefault="qualified"). The problem is that the File Adapter sends the message with unqualified attribute names!!
    So I edited JCAErrorHandling.xsd (<ORACLE_HOME>\integration\orabpel\system\xmllib\jca) file, changing it to attributeFormDefault="unqualified".
    The correct solution is to fix File Adapter to send the message with qualified names, so I´m opening a Service Request at Oracle Metalink.
    Thanks.

  • Namespace problem The result is empty for the XPath expression

    I have a problem with BPEL namespaces. The webservice that my BPEL process is using has changed namespaces (i.e. the java code package names changed and therefore the namespaces associated with the packages.)
    Before there was only one namespace associated with this web services; now there are multiple namespaces.
    I have changed the namespaces in my .bpel file; however I get the result is empty for XPath expression:
    /nsxml0:getMailResponse/nsxml0:getMailReturn/nsxml1:mailOut
    Any help appreciated...:(

    hey b-o-s-t-o-n,
    have your verified that the namespace import is correct, and with the right prefix
    you xpath contains 2 namespace prefixes
    /nsxml0:getMailResponse/nsxml0:getMailReturn/nsxml1:mailOut
    so check the bpel file and maybe the wsdl that has been generated (that inclused the plnk extensions for your external service)
    this is the most common issue ..

  • Assigning JMS message in BPEL: The result is empty for the XPath expression

    Hi,
    My project, an Oracle BPEL 11g project, is reading an XML payload from a JMS queue. I would like to transform the message and assign the elements of the messages to other variables. But when I am doing that in the "assign" step, it raises an error: Error in evaluate <from> expression at line "63". The result is empty for the XPath expression : "/ns2:publishProject/payload/Message".
    Even though I can see the message payload in the Audit with all the values.
    To me it looks like a name space issue, but I could not find out how to correct it. Any hint will be a big help. Please let me know if you want to check the .xsd for the message.

    I publish a JMS message to a topic in one BPEL process and have another BPEL process read from the topic and start the flow. The problem I have is that the first process is writing fine to the topic, but the second process seems to be reading twice. I am seeing two instances of the second process in em.
    Can anyone help? I am using JDev 11.1.1.1.0
    Thanks

    If you use the SUN JAVA VM this message doesnt pop up.
    Try to install (if you havent done already) to install the SUN Java. If you already have the Installation activate under Internet-Options of Internet Explorer.

  • Import to iPhoto results in empty Album

    I am trying to follow the instructions on a "MacBreak" video to build a workflow that downloads the linked URL photos off a web thumbnail page. I have compared it to what the video shows and it is identical:
    1. Get Current page from Safari
    2. Get Image URLs from webpage
    3. Download URLs
    4. Import photos into iPhoto (New Album) (Delete originals) (Show entire action)
    The only problem is, all I wind up with is an empty folder! No errors or anything - just no pictures. HELP!! (Please.)

    Sounds like it is working in a way, but not the way you expected. When it gets images, it gets all of the images which may include buttons and advertisements and so forth. That's because those are images, too.
    Since you have different websites, you should make a separate workflow for each. For each workflow, add Safari's action "Filter URLs" and set one or more conditions to match just the URLs you want. This action should be placed after the action you use to get the URLs, such as after "Get Image URLs form Webpage" or after "Get Link URLs from Webpages".
    You'll need to view the URLs you want so you can get an idea of what they have in common to filter them from the ones you don't want. You can do this in Safari by hovering you mouse cursor over the links and viewing the status bar at the bottom of the window. Safari's "View" menu has an option to "Show Status Bar".
    If instead you want the images on the page itself, then you can either view the source (check the "View" menu again) for the URLs, or right-click (or Control-click) and choose to open the image in a new window or tab. Though, if the image is also a link and want that image but not the linked image, then you'll probably need to view the source.
    Once you figured out the pattern of how the images are named or located, then you can set up the proper filter to gather only them. Consider matching the path or perhaps part of the names. Automator's action "View Results" will be very helpful with this, and you'll want to just view the results without doing anything else in the workflow after it until you get precisely what you want. You can disable the other actions in the workflow after the "View Results" action by clicking on each action's number in the workflow, or delete the other actions after it for now, or just create a new workflow.
    As you can tell, because of the complexity of determining what links you want and what it is you are trying to download, such inconsistency pretty much requires a separate workflow for each website, and perhaps each page on a given website if the pages aren't consistent. However, it's really just the filtering action that will be the most time consuming to set up. Everything else just flows.
    I have a feeling the images from the .Mac site are probably going to be easier to obtain than from the random page layouts of the MySpace site. That's partly because I remember the .Mac webpages being used in an example for this type of workflow. But if you aren't trying to make a workflow that'll work with just any MySpace page, then you'll probably have easier success focusing on just one MySpace page per workflow.
    I've had wonderful success with this type of workflow so I know something like this will work. Recently, I quickly created a workflow for downloading all of the PDF maps of the local bus routes from a page listing the links to the PDFs. Admittedly, the filter on that was quite simple since I wanted all URL links leading to a PDF. Once I had them, I didn't bother saving the workflow, particularly since I can quickly build another several months later when I want to do it again.

  • Empty PDF created by Acrobat XI Pro

    Hi,
    The more I am using Acrobat XI Pro for Mac, the more I find out some issues around that.
    I am using emacs to write a C++ program.  Emacs support postscript print so I print the buffer to a ps file.
    Preview can open the ps file  but the same file become empty when openning with Acrobat XI Pro (distriller).
    Is it to do with the fonts but those fonts are used by Apple Font manager as well. I think I am using Monaco size 12.
    Next question would be how can I make the Apple font used by Acrobat XI Pro
    I tried to check the settings in Acrobat Distriller but except things like standard, high quality, etc I do not find anything to note for postscript file conversion.
    Anybody come across this issue?
    Thanks,
    SS

    it says something like "compliance out of range".

    I google it a bit and it probably says Acrobat Distriller does not support the "PDFX4 2008.joboptions". I have no idea why emacs create a .ps file which Distriller does not support it.
    What do I do next?

  • GET_PRINT_DOCUMENT returns empty PDF

    I'm attempting to use the GET_PRINT_DOCUMENT API to create a pdf report and store it in a table. However, the api always returns an empty BLOB. The test report for the Report Query, 'testSQL', runs fine.
    The 'After Submit' process is as follows:

    VALUES ('ddornan','TestPDF', 'application/pdf',v_pdf);
    COMMIT;
    END;

    Hi David.
    I am using the same syntax code block with success. The only things I can suggest are..
    1) Double check the spelling and CaPiTaLiSaTiOn of your query name and template name.
    2) You may want to conisder declaring your application ID as a variable like this...
      v_app_id             NUMBER(10) := NV('APP_ID'); Thus avoiding any deployment issues with hardcoded application ID's.
    Aside from that, the syntax looks great.
    I'd be happy to take a look at the application for you if you put it on APEX.oracle.com
    I've got quite a bit of experience using this functionality and would be happy to share any knowledge I can.
    Simon.
