IF_EX_LE_SHP_DELIVERY_PROC interface is used in one of the class.
whats the use of this interface and how its working.

Enhancements in Delivery Processing
You can use the Business Add-In LE_SHP_DELIVERY_PROC to influence processing of delivery data, during creation and changing of deliveries at specific points described in the interface. The BAdI methods enable you to read, write, determine, delete, and save your own delivery-related data, and to change the standard delivery data.
This Business Add-In also makes methods available that you can use to control the ready-for-input status of fields in the delivery transaction, and to activate function codes.
Standard settings
This Business Add-In is not active in the standard system.
The Business Add-In can be used more than once.
Activities
To activate the Business Add-In, you must create an active implementation. To do this, go to Customizing for the component Logistics Execution and choose Shipping -> System Modifications -> Business Add-Ins in Shipping.
For more information about this procedure, see the SAP Library under
Basis Components -> ABAP Workbench -> Changing the SAP Standard -> Business Add-Ins -> Implementing Business Add-Ins.
Note that the Business Add-In can be used multiple times and therefore all active implementations are called and run through.
Example
You can use the Business Add-In LE_SHP_DELIVERY_PROC, if you want to fill and update additional fields in the delivery items or in the delivery header.

I have opened an SR and they have forwarded to the Receivables Team, which i do not believe will help us, since our need is to know technically the iSetup Custom Interface process for BC4J. Getting error while running the Interface using AGENT

i am not able to run the interface using Agent service which running in the another machine, while running i am getting error message like

here i have mentioned the steps which i followed for creating agent service.
i have two machine namely A and B both having the ODI
i am going to use the B machine as a centralized server. so i edited the odiparams.bat file in B machine in ODI locaiton and filled the repository information
from A machine i opened the Topology and created the Agent service there i mentioned the HOST name as "B" and port number 20300. and i configure the logical agent aswell
from B machine i started the Agent service like agentscheduler "-port=20300".
Agent service launched seccessfully.
From A machine i tested the Agent. that also shown the successful window message.
then i started running the interface using the agent i am getting the error which i have mention in the beginging.
Interface which i ran will do the text file to table loading, so i kept that file in particular location in B machine( i have configure this location when i created the file data store in topology in A machine).
Please help me to solve the problem...

I ran the agent as you said. here is my observation
from the Machine B where agent is actually running, i could able to run the interface using agent service.
but from the machine A while running the interface i am getting the following error message

Hi,
Here is an idea for your request.
Basically you can create a simple query on multiprovider 0TCT_MC01.
Filter: you can use a variable for restriction of time ( calday, or calmonth) since you should be interested for a time period.
Choose following characters into your objects:
InfoProvider ( 0TCTIFPROV ) - you can create a variable for choosing infoprovider before query runs.
*Tp.[Type of BI Application Object] 0TCTBISOTYP = filter this with 'QUERY' or whatever your need is.
*BI Application Object 0TCTBISBOBJ, ( this will give you the name of the queries)
In key figures choose, Count for BI Appl. (0TCTWTCOUNT).
(number for query run)
Create a condition , for top 20.

How to do an inbound and outbound interfacing using UTL_FILE ?

How can we do interfacing from a legacy system to oracle and vice versa using the UTL_FILE package. I mean how to do an INBOUND and OUTBOUND interfacing using utl_file.

I would start by ftping / putting the file in in/file/ folder, once ftp has completed move it to complete/ folder and process the file. If errorrs are generated move the file over to bad folder. If completed successfully move over to done folder.
Having said that you would use UTL_FILE_DIR init parameter to set your directory.
ALTER SYSTEM SET UTL_FILE_DIR='directory1','directory2' scope=spfile;
Then you would use the regular utl_file packages to read / write to the files.
UTL_FILE.FOPEN and so on.

Hi Sandeep,
I do not know if I got your question correct.
Here is my understanding of it, pls correct me if I am wrong:
You want to read from and write to the OS from inside the DB? Right?
There are differnt waysa to do so, depanding on your Oracle version:
1. you can use the initialization parameter UTL_FILE_DIR to specify a directory on OS where you can read from and write to through the package UTL_FILE.
2. You can use a directory object in the DB to manage read write access to the OS. This is also usable with the package UTL_FILE as location where to read from and write to.
=> CREATE DIRECTORY my_dir AS '/home/oracle/my_directory';
GRANT read , write ON DIRECTORY my_dir TO scott;
SELECT * FROM dba_directories;
You need CREATE ANY DIRECTORY system privilege for this.
You can use directory objects also for external tables.
With these you can read from flat files in teh directory on OS with a select statement as if it were a table inside the DB.
Does this go into the direction you were thinking of?

ISetup new custom interface using BC4J/java class

Hi,
I am able to create new custom interface using the link :- How to setup an user to be Oracle iSetup Super user ? but I have not seen anything for BC4J filter set, as per oracle iSetup developer guide clearly explains step by step process how to create custom BC4J interface type, but they have not mention how to add filters, as per oracle developer guide we have to use 'iSetup Framework' for BC4J, if we select type as 'iSetup Framework' then we don't have option to add filter parameters.
Any idea how to see existing iSetup interface repository values, Search shows the result, but we can't go in details? any idea to see this?
Oracle have good interface repository but most of them does not have option to filter, and update so I want to customize them by adding new interfaces with filterable and update option

First, be sure your properties file is in the root of the classpath.
The Messages.properties or Messages_en.properties should be in the WEB-INF/classes/ directory of the war or as a root file of a jar included in the classpath (WEB-INF/lib).
If it doesn't work, try adding a "/" before the file name. The classloader will try to find it as a root file of the classpath.
For example:
ResourceBundle messages = ResourceBundle.getBundle("/Messages", locale);
If you are using sun appserver, the classloader hierarchy is configured by default from inside the war to outside, so it will search first in the WEB-INF/classes/Messages_en.properties and then it will search the file inside each jar file in WEB-INF/lib.
If you want more information, check the classloader hierarchy of the appserver you are using.

Refresh temporary interface used in lookup

I am using temporary interface to provide a datastore for lookup.
temporary interface uses database schema for storage.
How do I refresh lookup data? I can see that the interface that uses lookup just reference to table.
Do I need to execute my temporary interface manually (or just before the main interface) to make sure my lookup is up-to-date?

Can I use In Memory Engine to store results from temporary/yellow interface?

Marker Interfaces are giving specification to the JVM about the implementing classes.
One of the features of the Java programming language is that it mandates a separation between interfaces (pure behavior) and classes (state and behavior). Interfaces are used in Java to specify the behavior of derived classes. Often you will come across interfaces in Java that have no behavior. In other words, they are just empty interface definitions. These are known as marker interfaces. Marker interfaces are also called "tag" interfaces since they tag all the derived classes into a category based on their purpose.
Some examples of marker interfaces in the Java API include: -
Java.lang.Cloneable
A class implements the Cloneable interface to indicate to the Object.clone() method that it is legal for that method to make a field-for-field copy of instances of that class.
java.io.Serializable
Serialization is nothing but s saving the state of an object to persistent storage as byte stream. Serializability of a class is enabled by the class implementing the java.io.Serializable interface. Classes that do not implement this interface will not have any of their state serialized or deserialized. All subtypes of a serializable class are themselves serializable. The serialization interface has no methods or fields and serves only to identify the semantics of being serializable. A tagging interface that all event listener interfaces must extend.
java.rmi.Remote
The Remote interface serves to identify interfaces whose methods may be invoked from a non-local virtual machine. Any object that is a remote object must directly or indirectly implement this interface. Only those methods specified in a "remote interface", an interface that extends java.rmi.Remote are available remotely.
Javax.servlet.SingleThreadModel
Ensures that servlets handle only one request at a time. This interface has no methods. If a servlet implements this interface, you are guaranteed that no two threads will execute concurrently in the servlet's service method.
Java.util.RandomAccess
This Marker interface used by List implementations (ArrayList, Vector) to indicate that they support fast (generally constant time) random access. The primary purpose of this interface is to allow generic algorithms to alter their behavior to provide good performance when applied to either random or sequential access lists.
Javax.ejb.EnterpriseBean
The EnterpriseBean interface must be implemented by every enterprise Bean class. It is a common superinterface for the SessionBean, EntityBean and MessageDrivenBean interfaces.
