Interface Via Web

Hi Everyone,
I am developing a remote lab which consist:
Acquisition of data from a fpga directly to labview through RS232, these data are processed in three graphs to be visualized by the user in real time.
My question is: what is the best method for exporting the interface in labview via web to the user without run time engine from labview? I have seen that web service is not recommended for time-sensitive apps.
I really appreciate your help.

so, are you saying that the user can view an interface with 2 or 3 graphs like the example in the attachment? My doubt relies in the update speed of the web page for the case of web service.
Now, guessing that the update speed is high to view prefectly the web page; Web Service give me like a .xml which i use it to organize the data in a web page through Html+Javascript (ADOBE FLEX in the NI example ). Is there any advice to take the data in realtime generated by my Graphs Vis and put them in a "dynamic xml" generated by web service of labview?
I am saying this, because i was watching the example "Demo 2 - Function Generator Main" and I think that it doesnt matter if the vi is running, anyway the user will view data preestablished by the web service through the xml, unlike the remote panel option, where if the VI in the web server stop working, the user too.
I dont know if i am clear. Sorry, I am still learning english.

Connecting to exchange server via web interface?

Employer's exchange server has IMAP disabled and IT will not consider adding activesync for iPhone 2.0. Using the web interface via Safari is way too hard on an iPhone to be practical except in emergencies.
Question: The new version of Entourage allows for retrieval and sync through a connection to the exchange web interface. It behaves just like it's connected directly to the exchange server, but is hitting exchange's web server.
Is there anything like this for iPhone? Any way to retrieve mail into the native mail application (rather than web app) by polling the exchange web server?

A few things. Neither will give you the functionality you seem to be after.
1) Use Exchange OMA service (text based view via web) very quick compared to the full image web based application. Has read/write functionality but you are not going to want to write an email via this.
2) Outlook 2007 supports http: access. You could use that to pull the data from your work account to say a home PC and sync your iPhone (albeit once a day).
3) Ask them to install iTunes 7.7 on your work PC so you can sync (I think I know how this would go down in a company )

Managing DSL modem (web interface) via Linksys WRT610N router.

I have a router WRT610N Version 1.0 connected to my DSL gateway (3wire). My PC is connected to WRT610N. All is working fine except: If I set Linksys Internet connection type in DHCP I am able to see my DSL modem (3wire) via web interface from my PC. But, if I set Linksys Internet connection type in PPPoE I can't connect to my DSL management web page from my PC via Linksys to DSL modem.
FYI, I need PPPoE for DDNS.

Correct. If you configure PPPoE the modem is inaccessible because it works like a standard modem. That's normal. With PPPoE on the WRT the WRT is connected directly to the internet and there are not really any settings on the DSL modem/router which you have to change.

Accessing Email (inbox) via web interface

Hi All.
I am testing functionality of Oracle Beehive.
I installed Beehive 1.4.3.0 + Beekeeper 1.4.3.0 on windows 2003. Is there a possibility for a user to access email inbox, address book, etc. via web page similarly as it is in Zimbra? If yes how can I access it? (which url, port).

Hi,
If you had 3Gb or more RAM in the machine where you installed Beehive server, the Zimbra web interface would have been configured automatically in 1.4.3. It'll be at http://server:port/zimbra. Where 'server' is the beehive server and port is probably 7777 if there was nothing else on the machine consuming that port when you installed.

OS authentication via Web interface (Intranet) possible?

Hi,
I have database users that have access to iFS too. The database users are OS authenticated. It anoyes them, that contrary to the standard explorer interface, the Web (IE) interface requires them to type in their OS password.
I did not find any means to let iFS authenticate the users accessing iFS through the intranet (NOT internet). Perhaps this is a foolish thing to expect, I do not have too much knowledge of what the IE browser knows or do not knows of the user using it.
Can this be done? Perhaps with a custom built web logon?

When you say that your users are OS authenticated - does OS stand for Operating System?
Do you mean that you're using the NT directory services to authenticate users when they log into the client machines?
When you say that they are also database users, do you mean that they are also using other Oracle database applications?
In any of these cases, Oracle 9iFS does not currently support Single Sign On, but this is a requirement that we are considering for a future release.
The Oracle Single Sign On server would enable applications to share credentials so that a user would log in once to one application,
and subsequent SSO applications would look up the authenticated credentials instead of making the user log in again.

Upload data via web

Hi
My problem is if i open a document something.doc via web brovser IE 5.0 and i make some changes and i save document, then i try to reopen document and the contents of document is the same. But if i open document via file explorer i can see changes. And if i close IE and start IE again and when i reopen document i see changes. Could anyone say why? and how could i solve this problem.

We are implementing bi-ip w/support pack 11. We have a current situation that needs solved:
1. Ability to cut and past from excel into IP via the web and excel interface
2. Ability to upload data from excel in IP via the web or excel interface.
You mentioned in your comments below: "Also you can directly post data from an Excel file to BI-IP without any programming". Can you send me more information on this solution? Also, is there an how-to paper on using the "old" file upload solution from BPS? We never implemented bps.

Books of business - supported via web services

Are books of business supported in R15 via web services interface? If we create a new Contact, Account or Opportunity, can we associate it to a specific book? I can't find any documentation on this subject.
If not, what's the point of using this functionality? We have over 13,000 different zip code ranges in our territory structure in Oracle 11i CRM, and would like to be able to maintain some sort of parallel structure in OnDemand via web services integration.
Are we stuck with creating Sales Team records for all object types? Seems very cumbersome to have to add a specific user to 100,000 different records, when we could simply assign them to a single book of business and accomplish the same thing.

Scott, web services will not be supported for book of business in R15. However, I passing this information to our On Demand product marketing. Thanks for the feedback.

Survey (via Web) - some especifications

Hi Experts!
We are implementing Survey via Web. Acording to the especification of the client, it should contain the following especifications:
- There appears only one section (question) at a time.
- According to the answer option selected, the next question appears (not necesary the next in the order, but follwing an inner logic).
- Integration with Mkt. Attributes.

In SAP Standard when a customer answers a survey, a new activity with transaction type 0000 will be created that automatically triggers the follow-up processes. In our business scenario were not using transaction type 0000 but Y004 instead.
To make the campaign automation survey scenario running for this transaction type as well you have to change a BAdI.
The following procedure describes where and how to adapt the respective changes.
In a real customer scenario this is a very likely procedure.
Transaction Code SE18
1. SAP Menu Architecture and Technology---->ABAP Workbench -
>Utilities -
>Business Add-Ins
2. Enter the name of the respective BAdI CRM_MKTCA_SVY_PAI in the field Definition Name and choose Display first.
3. Go to tab Interface and double-click on the default implementation class CL_DEF_IM_CRM_MKTCA_SVY_PAI.
4. Again, double-click on method IF_EX_CRM_MKTCA_SVY_PAI~PROCESS_SVY_PAI_FOR_CA and confirm the following dialog box with Yes.
5. In the following you see the example implementation for transaction type 0000.
6. Now switch to change mode and search for 0000 with the Find/Replace button.
7. In the following replace the line
iv_process_type = '0000' with the line
iv_process_type = 'Y004'
8. Save your settings and dont forget to activate your coding again.

because as soon as customer repond to the survey you get an in bound activity
this activity generation is crucial part of response analysing because this activity contains the info regarding the customer response
i would also advise you to go through the campaign automation,as it is the standard way to get the customer response.

Hi, I have an account under Sun Java Communications Suite 5 that when attaching via web a file of 3MB approx. the attachment page freezes...but with anoter account It does not happens.
As a delegated administrator what can I check to find a solution?

Shutdown wireless interface via SNMP Write?

We're working on writing a very simple web app to control a couple of access points via SNMP. I'm trying to shutdown the Wireless interface via SNMP WRITE with the following oid;
.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.7.1
and
.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.7.2
But its saying the integer of '0' is invalid (badValue, wrong type or length). I'm able to set other values like hostname, etc, so I know my string is correct...can anyone help? THanks

Cisco SGE2010P 48-port Gigabit Switch - Setup & Configure via Web UI?

Hello,
I'm looking to purchase a Cisco SGE2010P 48-port Gigabit Switch (POE) for a 100% Macintosh environment. Because of this, none of the machines will be able to access the switch (including initial, out of the box setup) via the console port. So, I'm wondering if anyone can confirm if this switch is configurable, out of the box, via the Web UI (which would allow a Macintosh system to set it up no problem via a web browser)? I have asked all my suppliers and talked to a Cisco Product Specialist via web chat and also tried via phone, and no one can confirm if this is possible for sure.
The reason I ask is that I was also looking at a Nortel switch and even thought it had a Web UI for management, out of the box it had to be initially set up (ie. configuring the devices IP) via the console port first, and once that was done, only then could you access the Web UI.
I'm hoping this isn't the case with the Cisco switch and that it in fact is out of the box with a default IP so it can be accessed via the Web UI (without the need to go in via the console port).
Could anyone answer this question for me!?

SGE2000 and SGE2000P must have a DHCP server to get an IP-address. You “just” have to figure out the address they have been given.SGE2010 and SGE2010P has a default IP (192.168.1.254 – 255.255.255.0)All 4 devises has a web interface. I don’t see why it shut not work with a Mac browser. The primarily reason for buying SGE switches is their ability to stack. But 24 ports (SGE2000/P) and 48 ports (SGE2010/P) switches are not able to stack with each other. They have had several years to fix the problem so it is not likely it will ever bee fixit. If you stick to eater 24 ports ore 48 ports it will work.

Problems access to a web application (Web Interface or Web report)

We found problems with the access to web application. Some users have problems with direct links to the web applications(Web Interface or Web reporting), when they click on the link an error message appears, the message displays the following text:
"Cannot open file Bex?sap-language=ENbsplanguge=ENcmd=idoc_TE.."
Clicking in details the message is "No Access to specified file"
For this users the access to excel reporting is correct, the message appears when they click on the direct web links through the browser or directly in BW system, but if they type the URL they can access. Other users can use the direct web link without problems.
I highly appreciate any help or idea about how to solve this issue.

Hi,
As of now in Xcelsius/Dashboard Design there is no feature or functionality to insert/update/delete data from database.
Solution:
Create a Web service in let’s say C# or Java, which will perform insert/update/delete operation.
In Xcelsius add Web Service connection and user above web service.
Xcelsius Web Service connection provides option to pass input values to a Web Service (Input Pane) and get the result (Output values pane).
We can pass values to be written to the database as a input to Web Service via Web Service connection from Xcelsius and write data to the database.
Note:
Performing delete operation from Xcelsius Dashboard could be risky and may delete important data from database. I would not prefer giving delete option/functionality in Xcelsius dashboard.

What is the easiest way to create and share photo/video gallery or slide show with family via web?

I am brand new to Lightroom (converted from Aperture) and made the conversation mainly because I thought that Adobe would bring many more options and because Apple has discontinued development of Aperture. Part of the reason I am asking this question is because there is so much information out there on this subject that it is overwhelming and actually is making it difficult to determine the best way to simply arrange my photos/videos into a slideshow and then to publish somewhat of a gallery or slideshow to show family and friends in other states.
I do not like publishing things to Facebook/etc. Too public. I just want a simple, efficient way to create a gallery with music and have a link I can send to my family (they all live in another state).
Any help narrowing this down for me would be greatly appreciated!

an airport extreme base station would do the job, it has several ethernet ports for use by non-wireless devices, allows connecting a usb printer to share, and supports both pc and mac via wireless
config is via a dedicated set-up utility
however, you can always connect the printer to the mac or pc and share it that way, so having this support in the base station isn't essential
a much cheaper unit from netgear etc. (such as the netgear wgr614) would offer the other features, be far more compact, and allow configuration via web browser, which might be a factor if you need to give 'remote support'
i've got both airport and netgear wireless devices, imho for non-technical users the netgear is simpler than the airport due to the web browser configuration
