Interface with oracle system

Dear all,
I am working on asset tracking process for telecommunication sector.
here they are maintaining rt now all there equipment data in some CRAMER system basically oracle based system but they are not having any asset tracking system in this.
My solution for them is creating equipment-asset sync....so that whenever asset is created system will create equip and vice versa...but i hav 2 concerns here:
1. Can we do many equipment to one asset integration....as this is requirement here....and if we can den how we will handle change in master data wether in equip or asset.
2. I can't obslete their CRAMER system cause they are having other activities to it also.
So, I need to make interface with CRAMER that whenever any equoipment is created in the CRAMER parlaely in SAP equipment master data should be created and also asset and vice versa.......
plz suggest how wud i handle this.....
thanks in advance
RManchanda

Its common to make one or other of the systems the master system, and the other the slave.
This ensures that the data is created/changed in one system only with a one-way interface.
Depending how you create the interface, it can be real-time(single record) , or batch (multiple records)

  • Testing CAD-Desktop interface with CAD-system

    Hi,
does anybody know if it is possible to get a CAD-system for free to test the CAD-Desktop interface of SAP?
I am not a key CAD user, I just want to look how CAD Desktop works.
    Regards,
    Oliver

You do not need CAD system to work with CAD Desktop
    call transaction SE37
In Function module enter : CDESK_SHOW
    or CDESK_TEST
    Fill the import paramenters
    Execute it
    CAD Desktop will appear

  • Interfacing with Gentran system

    Hi All,
We have a set up where in SAP interacts with the GENTRAN system both in case of EDI 850 as well as EDI 810. We are using EDI 810 (outbound) for sending the normal (f2) invoices to customer .
We also have data maps created which GENTRAN uses to read a EDI 810 from SAP system.
Now we have a requirement where we need to send  the EDI invoices for Credit as well Debit memo. The person working in GENTRAN side says that GENTRAN understands only EDI 812 in case of credit /Debit memos .
From SAP stand point ,it is pretty easy to just extend the same EDI output type to G2 /l2 so  that the EDI invoices for G2/L2 gets trigerred .But in this case GENTRAN won't interpret it as this will be in EDI 810 format.
Does anybody know whether there is a seperate functional module for EDI 812 like what we have for EDI 810. If so how to configure this . I don't think I need to do the partner profile configuration again .
Can anybody share their experience .
    Thanks in advance.
    Shrishar

    Hi ,
Does anyone has any thoughts on this . I would really appreciate if somebodu could share their experience if they have come across with EDI 812.
    Thanks

  • Interface with external system

    Hello Experts,
The query i am posting is very naive and mite seem vague to you but I am doing it for a sure shot methodological approach. My client have an vendor system that they want to interface. All the information I have is
1> I will get the XML schema frm the guys of that company.
2> XI is installed in my company.
Can you tell me wat all things i need to configure and how can i go about achieving this?
    thanks and please advise me,
    Mehta

    Hi Gaurav,
you will have to provide more details like who is your sender, who is your receiver etc....
i would recommend that you go through the SAP help documentation and follow the pipeline steps.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
You will have to perform the basic steps to get your thing (XSD) into XI.
    1. In the Integration Builder - Integration Repository; You take your XSD provided by the vendor and create an interface out of it. This depends whether your vendor is sending (Outbound Interface) or receiving (Inbound Interface) the data.
    2. Then add this interface to your service in the configuration (Integration Directory).

  • Interfacing with Oracle environment:  names, numbers, photos in MD office

I'm a family physician that has been running ("running from" usually) his own paperless office since 2000 on an Oracle platform (GE Centricity Physician Office), and I am interested in getting data from my patient environment into my iPhone. Specifically, I would like to take patient names, telephone numbers, and photos (I think that these are generally individually less than 50 Kb) -- about 2200 all tolled -- and get them into my iPhone.
Does anyone have any idea how this might be done? Perhaps some sort of download to a CDF, but then what? I understand rudimentary programming and IT, but that is the extent of it. Always looking to learn, however.
Let me know what you think,

    Emile
Bear with me a minute. You're confusing a lot of things.
    1. As Larry says, on Windows you are using a File Manager for you your photos. All well and good if it works for you, but limited. Why? Because it doesn't leverage any of the extra information available with photos files. Essentially, a File Manager doesn't distinguish between a photo nd a Word file or a Music file. They are just files.
    2. Photo Managers like iPhoto (Or Picasa, Aperture, Lightroom et al) work differently. They are designed to leverage the additional information available in the photo file. Case in point: Date. In the File Manager you have folders created for Year/Month/Day. In iPhoto the pics are grouped into Events automatically. These Events are based on the date and time the Photos were taken, and which is recorded in the Exif metadata for the photo file.
As we all know, when one downloads pictures from a camera, their"names" appear as a bunch of letters and the number indicating thesequence.
These are Filenames assigned by the Camera. In iPhoto you don't change Filenames you edit Titles. Titles are quite independent of filenames and are an entry in the Exif metadata.
I'm not sure what you've done in the renaming sequence, but iPhoto does not have a Sort -> by Name command. There is a Sort By Title command.
But you would not use Events for this job anyway. You would use an Album. Create an Album, drag the pics to it and then you can sort them in any order you want, manually. Then using the Batch Change Command you can create a sequence for them. So, Title the pics 'House Sale' and check the box to append  number and the result:
House Sale 01, House Sale 02 etc

  • Integrate Microsoft FIM with Oracle HR System

    Hi everybody
I hope to find someone can help on the below scenario :
actually I'm new on FIM and I'm Planning to install it and Configure it to be used with our Oracle HR System so what I need to know is the Limitation and Supported Scenario to be used with Oracle system for example is FIM system Support the integration with
Oracle ? and if so what are the Limitation? what kind of information I have to know it from Oracle side before Start?.
    Thanks,
    Ahmed Ali

    Ahmed,
FIM by-default provides a Oracle Connector. You can easily create MA by using it. Also, it is somewhat similar to SQL Connector in which while creating MA you have to enter the credentials along with the Table/View name which is having the Data. The columns
present in the Table/View can be used by mapping them to attributes. I am sure if you have basic idea about provisioning in FIM from one source to another, then you will be able to achieve the same easily.
You can refer to this link as help too :

  • JCAPS 5.1.3 with ORACLE AQ

I am having a SRE installation in place which uses ORACLE IQ manager. I need to build new component on JCAPS 5.1.3 which needs to interface with Oracle AQ Queues. (The JCAPS application would run on SUN application server 8)
Jcaps 5.1.3 doesnot have a ORACLE AQ adaptor in place. Can you please suggest me options how do i subscribe and push message to an Oracle AQ queue using JCAPS???
    My options are
    1) Build an ORACLE AQ eWay with eWay development kit
    2) Try building an MDB which listens to Oracle AQ
Can you please help me with the same??

    Hi,
I recommend oracle version for AQ is 10.x.
AQ is basically a table in database.
there is a steps to create the AQ in database.
you need administarton access rights to create a AQ's in database.
Oracle initiallly given some sort of steps to run some java aq Programmes for enqueue and dequeue the messages from AQ.
these are open source and apply those stuff and implement for your project...

  • RFC with External system

    Hi,
We are trying to develop interface with external system to calculate the shipping costs for a delivery. We will establish RFC connection between SAP and External system.
Do we need SAP .NET connector to send and receive data from/to SAP. SAO shouls act as client and external system as server. If we have to use SAP .NET connectore, can anyone explain me the detailed process of using SAP .NET connector and connecting to external system. If there is anyother way without using SAP .NET connector, i.e by using RFC function modules, can you please xplain that process too. What is the program ID for RFC destination in SM59?
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Ashok.

setting the program id you need a person with the knowledge of both the system, with the current input it will be difficult to help with that.
since you are in 4.6C the available options are
    1. DCOM connector
    2. .net connect
    3. JCO
    4. or a plain http call to your external system.

  • Solution Manager Interface with Tools Outside SAP

Does anyone have information on Solution Manager's abilities to interface with tools outside of SAP?  I am interested in interfacing Solution Manager with legacy systems and main frame systems (e.g. Informatica).  I am especially concerned with Root Cause Analysis, Exception Analysis, and Error Reporting in Solution Manager regarding non-SAP systems.  Also, if Solution Manager is able to interface with these systems, can it access details from outside SAP (e.g. data from legacy systems)?

    Hi,
The solution manager can be interface with the ARIS.We did in our project this interface.
The Business process flow was defined in ARIS & synchronize with the solman & once configuration is done then we reverse synchronize the same to update the ARIS,so you can interface with legacy also.

  • BOBI 4.1 SP2 installation with oracle database

    HI,
In our landscape, we have installed installed oracle 11g and we have installed BOBI 4.1 with oracle system user ID for both CMS and Audit. We havent create any separate schema for CMS and Audit database. It was runninf fine but recently we are facing lot of DB issues. Can anyone please help me to conclude whether we have to create separate schema for CMS and Audit or  we can user oracle system user ID for both CMS and Audit. Anyone help is highly appreciated. And also please suggest if we use the oracle system ID, whether we will face any issues in future or impacts.....
    Thanking you in anticipation.
    Obinna

    Hi,
technically it works with the System schemas. But this is far away from Best Practices!
The standart is to create a own User/Schema for the CMS DB and the Audit DB. The User gets full privileges on his Schema and you are fine.

  • Memory leaks in C++(OCCI ) for OTT generated C++ mapping objects with Oracl

Our application is in C++ which interfaces with Oracle 10g database using OCCI. The mapping objects are created using OTT. The type of these mappisng objects in PersistentObject. Our development machine(Solaris 8) and database machine are different. So we have installed the "instantclient-basiclite-solaris6432-10.2.0.3-20070101.zip" to use OTT and OCCI on development machine. We are running purify in our application, Purify is reporting memory leaks on these OTT generated POObjects (type used is transient Objects), despite the fact that we are deleting these objects appropriately. .

Since OTT generated code uses the STL data structures vector list etc.
STL are not standard across platforms and hence you can ignore these warnings.

  • Recovering from oracle system files dead

I have one machine with 2 hard disks. One with oracle system files and the oher one with my database files (Data files, control files and redo log files)
Can I just reinstall another oracle base and attach the old database somehow.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

If you mean that you have lost the disk storing ORACLE_HOME, yes this should work but you need to make sure:
    - to reinstall exactly the same Oracle patch set version (10.2.0.4 for example) for the same installation type (standard edition/entreprise edition - 32bit or 64bit)
    - you need to recreate some configuration files if you have no backup like init file (pfile/spfile), password file, listener.ora and if these files were located in default location.

  • Use IBM easy tier on DS8700 storage system with oracle database

    Hi,
We search best practices to integrate IBM SSD and easy tier technologies on Oracle 10gR2/11gR1/11gr2 database.
is that someone already done this type of integration with mixed Oracle and IBM technologies ?
    Thanks
    Arnaud

Easy Tier is feature on the DS8700 and the DS8800 that offers enhanced capabilities through automated hot spot management and data relocation, auto-rebalancing, manual volume rebalancing and volume migration, rank depopulation, merging of extent pools, and thin provisioning support.
Easy Tier determines the appropriate tier of storage based on data access requirements and then automatically and nondisruptively moves data, at the subvolume or sub-LUN level, to the appropriate tier (like SSD) on the DS8000.
so I search feedback on this technology used in conjunction with Oracle database.
    It's a question oriented for IBMer ...
    Regards
ArnaudAs I said, this all happens several layers away from anything the Oracle database would know (or care) about. Just like my HP-SAN. It does a lot of the kinds of things you describe above and actually, not only does oracle not know or care, neither does the OS. All of that work is being done by a sub-system that is totally abstracted from the OS and even more abstracted from the Oracle rdbms. When oracle ( or any app) needs data, it sends a request to the OS to "give me X- number of bytes, beginning at offset Y in file Z". He doesn't even know what kind of device file Z is. And with dedicates storage systems like a SAN (and it sounds like Easy Tier) even the OS doesn't really know or care. It simply passes the request along to the interface to the storage system.

  • Create a new user for oracle 10G ASM instance with sysdba system privilege

    Hi,
In our Golden Gate Project, we require the SYS user credential to connect to the Oracle 10g  ASM instance to read the database transaction logs. But our client is not providing the SYS user credential to  connnect to ASM instance.
I'm getting the error message "ORA-01109:  database not open",When I tried to create a new user using the  below the steps in oracle 10g ASM instance
    1. Login using "sqlplus / as sysdba"
    2. Create user <username> identified by <password>;
But in oracle 11g ASM instance, I'm able to create new  user  by connecting the ASM instance with SYSASM role without issues.
Is there is any workaround to create a new user with sysdba system privilege in oracle 10g ASM instance?.
    Thanks in advance .

    Hi,
Recreate the password file for the ASM instance as follows:
    Unix:
    orapwd file=<ORACLE_HOME>/dbs/PWD<SID> password=<sys_password>
    Windows:
    orapwd file=<ORACLE_HOME>/database/PWD<SID>.ora password=<sys_password>
Now sys password is reset, we are ready to use sys for ASM management. I decided to create another user ASMDBA as I tried above.
    SQL> create user ASMDBA identified by test01;
    User created.
    SQL> grant SYSASM, SYSOPER to ASMDBA;
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> select * from v$pwfile_users;
    USERNAME SYSDBA SYSOPE SYSASM
    SYS TRUE TRUE TRUE
    ASMDBA FALSE TRUE TRUE

  • System copy from SAP R/3 47x110 with Oracle 10.2 to Oracle 11.2

    Hello,
I want to do a system copy from SAP R/3 4.7 Enterprise 47x110 with Oracle 10.2 to a new machine with same SAP version but with oracle 11.2. (After this I will upgrade to ERP 6.0)
I will do this with export/import but I don't find any documentation (manuals or notes).
    I only find this:
    Note 1499877 - Oracle 11.2 for R/3 Enterprise 4.7 Ext. Set 1.10
but this note is only for a new installation, I don't know if this work with system copy
Note 516246 - INST- System Copy for SAP Systems based on SAP Web AS 6.20
This don't have information about oracle 11.2
I read the manual "Homogeneous and Heterogeneous System Copy for SAP® Systems Based on SAP Web Application Server 6.20" but this also don't say nothing about oracle 11.2
Can you help me? Where can I find this documentation and what DVDs (master and kernel) should I use?
    Best regards

    Hi Juan,
    Thanks for your answer.
That is my doubt, what installation master shoud I use for export oracle 10.2 and import in oracle 11.2?
Note "1499877 - Oracle 11.2 for R/3 Enterprise 4.7 Ext. Set 1.10" say that I can use installation master of R/3 4.7 Set 2 (47x200) to install a new system.
    I found this media:
    51033746_9 Installation Master 6.20/6.40 Linux on x86_64 64bit
    and
    51040087_7 NW 04 SR1 Inst. Mst. Linux x86_64 64bit f. Oracle 10.2/11.2
I think this is the note that I need:
Note 1478351 - Oracle 11g Support on UNIX: 6.40-Based SAP Systems
