Interfaces used for insert/update data in tables

for providing security the procedures are not allowed to directly insert/update the values in tables.some one suggested that use interfaces for this .i want infomation about this interfaces. how this works and how to use

An interface is an intermediate set of procedures/functions that do the job for you.
You haven't explained what it is you're trying to achieve exactly, but here's an example scenario.
We don't want to allow our developers to query, or write to the tables directly so they are set up with certain database users that have no permissions granted on the tables for such things.
Instead they have been granted permission to call procedures and functions belonging to another schema, and it is those procedures and functions that do the required table access and/or pass information/data back or write to the tables.
The developers have to write their applications to call these procedures to do any access to the tables. This means that they are limited to the functionality provided by these interface procedures so, if there is internal auditing or columns of data etc. on the tables then it may be that they can't access this data, but only the "user facing" data.
The interface can also ensure that data meets certain requirements before being written to tables, allowing for business or technical level restrictions to be implemented.

I can insert/update data into table_new by command line.
But I can not Insert/update data of table_new by SI Oject Browser tool or Oracle SQL Developer tool .(read only)
Anybody tell me, what's happend? cause?

I can insert/update data into table_new by command line.

The syntax for inserting from one set of tables to a new table is:
insert into newtable
(field1, field2, etc)

Transaction date will be your autoinvoice master program submission level date (If you haven't setup any logic.
Please check the program level default date, if user enter old date ststem will pick the same.
Customer is trying to set the value of the profile OM:Set receivables transaction date as current date for non-shippable lines at the responsiblity level. System does not set the transaction date to current date in ra_interface_lines_all.
CAUSE
Customer has used the functionality in R11i. But after the upgrade to R12, the system functions differently than R11i.
SOLUTION
1.Ensure that there are no scheduled workflow background process run.
2.Set the profile "OM: Set Receivables Transaction Date as Current Date for Non-Shippable Lines" at Responsibility level only as Yes.
3.Now switch the responsibility to which the profile is set.
4.Create order for Non-Shippable Lines and progress it to invoicing.
5.Ensure that the 'workflow background process' concurrent program is run in the same responsibility and this line is considered in it.
6.Now check if the 'SHIP_DATE_ACTUAL' is populated to ra_interface_lines_all

Please help me to find the last inserted/updated date from different tables in a database.
Consider I have a database called testDB, which contains 20 tables. Most of these tables will get data inserted/updated daily. But sometimes it may not happen due to some issues . We will not be knowing about this issue until we check in each table
manually. Now, somebody should be daily checking for the issues in this db. So, we have decided to make an alert mail to send this informations to us.
We need to check whether any of the table's in TetsDB has got inserted/updated data in one day difference.
I have tried this..

We need to track the data daily and we need to know whether any modification happens in those tables.

I am considering to use OWM to implement several lookup tables that need to keep track of data versions over time.
One of the requirements of the application is the capability to insert or update data at any point in time, but this data should only (automatically) be available for lookup at some future point in time.
Similarly, I need the capability to insert/update data with an effective date at some point in time in the past.
Is it possible to make data effective from some point in the future or past with OWM ?

The current 9.2.0.3.0 release of Workspace Manager includes support for Valid Time.
After enableversioning a table with the Valid Time option, you will be able to insert/update rows that are associated with a particular valid time range. A procedure, setValidTime, can be used to specify the interval for which rows are effectively inserted, updated, and deleted. This date interval can also be used to limit which rows are returned from a select query.
The documentation for the 9.2.0.3.0 release includes all the additional information pertaining to valid time support.

The easiest way to do this is along the following lines..
(1) register an XML Schema that describes the XML you wish to process with theh database.
(2). create a relational view for the top level elements and for each repeating element (element where maxOccurs > 1 in the XML Schema)
(3) Use 'insert as select' or other SQL type processing to update your relational tables from the contents of the view
It is normally recommended that you add the following annotations to the XML Schema before registering it with the database
(1) At the schema level set xdb:storeVarrayAsTable="true".
(2) At the complexType level set xdb:maintainDOM="fasle".
If you search the forum you will find a lot of examples of creating relational views of XML content stored in the XML database. Typically these examples will include key words like 'create or replace view' and 'table(xmlsequence(extract' or 'xmltable'.

Different datatypes for insert/update

Hi All
In our design currently we recieve all the data for different
tables in 1 stand by table.
the column datatype in which we recieve the data is varchar2
from this table we insert / update data into the actual tables
where column datatypes can be of numeric, varchar2, date etc
Will updating /inserting into columns of different datatypes from
the varchar2 column will result in any error

For general sanity, you probably want to explicitly cast things (i.e. to_date, to_number, etc). If the varchar2 data is really always numeric when it is being inserted into a NUMBER column, you'll be fine. On the other hand, this sounds like a process that would be quite a maintenance headache if your data is the least bit dirty.

Here is an idea for your request.
Basically you can create a simple query on multiprovider 0TCT_MC01.
Filter: you can use a variable for restriction of time ( calday, or calmonth) since you should be interested for a time period.
Choose following characters into your objects:
InfoProvider ( 0TCTIFPROV ) - you can create a variable for choosing infoprovider before query runs.
*Tp.[Type of BI Application Object] 0TCTBISOTYP = filter this with 'QUERY' or whatever your need is.
*BI Application Object 0TCTBISBOBJ, ( this will give you the name of the queries)
In key figures choose, Count for BI Appl. (0TCTWTCOUNT).
(number for query run)
Create a condition , for top 20.

To Upload bulk data I think BDC is the best and effecient way.
Regarding Infotypes we dont have any country specific Infotypes in OM & PA. In Payroll we do have according to country wise.
