Intergration of BI Publisher with OBIEE issues

I am using OBIEE11.1.1.6.6 ,and having a cluster set up of 3 servers.
I am facing issues with the intergration of BI Publisher reports. I get the following error .This doesnot happen always, but only on one particular server.

go to administration tab in that u ll find the manage bi publisher r u able to redirect to bi publisher through this link or not.

I may be missing something, but BI Publisher Enterprise is installed at the same time as when you install BIEE on the server. You wouldn't install BI Publisher Desktop on that server. You can use BI Publisher Desktop locally to create templates for use in BI Publisher Enterprise.
I'm much more familiar with XML (BI) Publisher as part of Oracle Apps moreso than BIEE, so I could be wrong in my assessment.

Publisher BI Publisher with OBIEE 11g start up

Hi ,
Can anyone guide me on logging in to BI Publisher from OBIEE 11g Home .
I tried login with my OBIEE administrator credentials (weblogic) , but its saying invalid login.
It seems , somthing needs to be done on the user (roles , policies) .Currently its in BIAdministrators group.

1) Is it required to install BI Publisher separately or is it already provided integrated in fusion middleware in OBIEE 11G.

BI Publisher -RTF Template issue: Output report not maintaining text with bullets and numberings.

I am currently working with generating reports using BI Publisher. My issue is that when I will preview the output(in PDF and RTF) format's of the newly created template, then, if the data coming from DB have some bullets or numbering, then the BI publisher output will ignore the same and will show the complete data as one single line.
For example if the data in the DB Field is like below:
The XYZ has the below sub-parts:
ABC : This again has two parts:
abc1
abc2
CDE
FGH
Then this data will appear as below in the BI Publisher output report's:
The XYZ has the below sub-parts: • ABC : This again has two parts: o abc1 o abc2 • CDE • FGH
I want the format of the data (with bullets and number's) should be maintained in the BI Publisher Report as well, but I am unable to find any solution for the same.
Any help on the same is much appreciated.

in your query will u get all the columns always null when column1 is null
in your template for each group u can write like below
think G_1 as group in your xml

or if u are not sure u get null in both places every time u can write like below
<?for-each:G_1[COLUMN1!='' and COMMENTS!='']?><?COLUMN1?><?COMMENTS?><?end for each?>

Google Chrome/Apple Safari Browser Issues with OBIEE

We are having issues rendering images, charts and dashboards in Google Chrome and Apple Safari. Everything is working correctly in IE and Fire Fox.
We are on OBIEE version 10.1.3.3.1 running on Solaris 10 and Oracle DB Version 10g.
I understand that these browsers are not supported, but I have seen several screenshots and threads with OBIEE being accessed with Chrome and Safari.
Has anyone run into this issue before and over come it? Are any configuration changes needed in order to make this work?

Sorry to chime after a long time, but I am having this issue as well. When i look in the webserver logs (iPlanet 7) I see that OBIEE is trying render images but appending "Missing_" to them. This only happens with Chrome and Safari. Any input would be appreciated.

Error in BI publisher integration with OBIEE with SSO

Whenever we click on BI publisher in OBIEE(More Products-> BI Publisher) which is Sitemider protected we are getting the below error.
Reporting Login: Login failed. Please contact Administrator for your username/password.
Even at the BI publisher , at the SSO section below setting are given.

When i go through the 1st link, I have noticed the steps which are written for Enabling "Admin" tab in BI publisher.
In my case, i am bale to see the Admin tab.
But the error which i am getting is "Reporting Login: Login failed. Please contact Administrator for your username/password" after clicking on BI publisher in OBIEE which is Siteminder protected.
I am not getting any error, if i disable the SM.
In my case, OBIEE is working on IIS & BI publisher on OC4J and OBI version in 10.1.3.4.1.

Weird issue with OBIEE Server

Hi All,
There is a scenario in obiee 10.1.3.4.1 need some help with this, where a sas service is restarting because of the hanging sessions in the rpd. Let me explain this in detail
recently we were seeing lot of server bounces during the busiest usage of the application, when we digged into the details, we found that some of the hanging sessions were causing the server restart. This is wierd right, i thought so too, so whats happening basically is there is a cache file that is created by this hanging session that the obiee is not able to delete during the event poll trigger to dump the cache. so if we manually kill any such sessions by opening the rpd online, the server restart doesnot happen, but the real question is why would a session hang in the rpd and stay there in rpd for 3 or 4 days, even if the user did not login to the application in the last 3 days.
We have a 60 min idle session timeout at the presentation layer, which is exactly the same as SSO timeout
Does anyone have faced such scenario with OBIEE

Bug 13359653 exists for this (presentation server side) and has itself spawned 13639704 (server side). The former was addressed in 11.1.1.5.0 BP2 (or patch 13359653), but 13639704 hasn't progressed yet.

Report with grouping issue

I have a report which have year(2008), Category(0-1,2-3, ALL), product(0,1,2,3,4..), % sales. I group by all the category elements and called it as All, I am not getting the right percentage sales for the Category ALL other wise for 0-1,2-3 i am getting it right. Please advise where i am doing it wrong. please find the blog for a screen shot of my issue.

Integration of BI Publisher with presentation services

Hello,
I have installed and configured OBI Answers and Publisher in a Linux infrastructure and configured thro' Websphere/IHS. Answers/Dashboards is working fine. I am trying to integrate BI publisher with OBI answers/dashboards. This is working fine through OC4J but when I try to integrate through Websphere, I get a crypto error.
I have to deployed a plug-in in web server and tried to integrate BI publisher with presentation services through "cryptotools" and configuring it through instance config. When I hit http://myserver:port/xmlpserver I get "Error 500: com.phaos.crypto.CipherException ". Similarly when I select more products/BI Publisher through OBI Dashboards/Answers, I get the following
Reporting Login: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.phaos.crypto.CipherException; nested exception is: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.phaos.crypto.CipherException
I feel this is a common issue across both the end points. Has anyone come across this type of issue or similar issue ?
Help is greatly appreciated.

I'm installing 10.1.3.4 and YES, i have installed BIP war in Websphere.
I think I may have resolved my original problem but faced with a different one now. I am able to logon to BI publisher standalone and integrated with OBI Answers (thro websphere). But when i click the dashboards link from BI Publisher, its going to the default OC4J installation and not my websphere. The similar re-direction works fine from OBI - Publisher but not from Publisher - OBI.
I need to find out, how its finding the server name and port to redirect from BIP -> OBI. Can you guys help please ?

Need help with languages issue in iOS app created in Flash Pro CS5.5

Hello all,
I'm using Flash Pro CS5.5 on a Mac running Snow Leopard to create an iOS app by publishing with 'AIR for iOS' from inside Flash Pro. Everything works great except after I submit my app to the Apple App Store and it is approved, the App Store listing claims that the app is available in a ton of different languages including English, German, Chinese, Italian, Spanish, etc. Since this app is a word game and all the words are in English, this is a pretty significant issue.
If I view the binary details for the app in iTunes Connect, it shows that localizations are active for all of the different languages. This information is read from the .ipa file that is submitted.
If I unzip the .ipa file, I can see that folders have been created for all of the localizations (i.e. en.lproj, es.lproj, fr.lproj, etc.). If I delete any of those folders, the .ipa will give me a 'resources modified' error at install.
I have also tried setting the plist attribute 'CFBundleLocalizations' to 'English' by editing the 'app.xml'. I have verified that the attribute has been changed correctly but it does not solve the issue. All of the localizations are still active.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How to integrate BI publisher with Apex 3.1.1

I have installed BI publisher and I have also configured the print server in Apex 3.1.1.
But when I go to download the RTF format or pdf or xls format, it does not work nor show any error.
is there any way to resolve this issue?
Or Please Explain me proper process to configure BI publisher with[b] Apex 3.1.1.

Hi,
I have started the tutorial " Integration of Oracle BI Publisher with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterp" today but got stuck at the very first step.
The tutorial shows that I can see "SH" and "CountryManagers" in the shared folder but I only see the Paint Demo rpd.
I previously completed the "Creating a Repository Using the Oracle Business Intelligence Administration Tool " tutorial.
Do I need to learn anything prior to this tutorial .
I already have the default rpd as SH in NQSConfig.ini
Please suggest.

We have defined a lot of groups in shared services and use them to control access in planning and sv. Is there any way to integratre these groups with OBIEE as we would like to use the same groups to secure obiee reports.

INTEGRATING PUBLISHER WITH OBI EE SECURITY USING LDAP

Hi !
Just learned about how integrating BI Publisher with OBI EE Security had to be set. (SA SYSTEM blah blah blah)
My question is : what if my OBI EE security is already based on LDAP server ? How do I manually insert user logon in SA_USER as I'm supposed to do ? No way...any turnaround ? Should I base my BI PUB security on the LDAP server ?

Could you please let us know whether using "Oracle BI server" security model in BIP would address the SSO between Oracle BI and BI Publisher when BI uses LDAP authentication?
Also I am facing some issues in setting up BI security in BIP.
The issue is that, when logged into BIP as Administartor, Roles and Permissions tab of Admin displays only two roles namely "Administrator" and "XMLP_TEMPLATE_ONLINE".
SA subject area is also set.
Could you please let me know your thoughts on the same?
