Internal 500 error after installing RS Add-in on multiple WFE Sharepoint environment

I'm trying to install SSRS SQL Server 2012 SP1 with
SharePoint integrated mode on a SharePoint 2013farm with 4 WFE and a dedicated
app server. I have cloned our production system and have been able to make
everything run twice but after multiple installs. I have tried to note down the
errors and after checking them off my (mostly permissions, one content DB was
read-only), I am able to run the installers (Reporting Services - SharePoint on
the app server and Reporting Services Add-in on the web frontends) without
errors.
Unfortunately, although there are no errors on the logs and even
if I can access Central Administration on the app server and configure the
Reporting Services service, the RS Add-in messes up the web.config file of our
web application and I get an internal 500 error on the client browser. When
logging IIS, the error is 500.19 which looks to be an invalid web.config file.
So to test this, I try replacing the web.config file before the install (with no
references to Reporting Services) and the site loads. Uninstalling the RS Add-in
also fixes the site but even after trying to reinstall it (either with the SQL
Server 2012 SP1 installer media or the rsSharepoint.msi file), the site won't
work again.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Use “Get-SPServiceApplicationPool | Select Id,Name” to find the GUID of the SQL Server Reporting Services Service Application pool.
Then, check service application settings in IIS. Click on GUID created for RS and check the physical path C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\WebServices\Reporting. Make sure that you are able to find the path in your
file system.
If not, the Shared Feature(Reporting Service- SharePoint) may not install properly. Try reinstalling shared feature (reporting service – SharePoint) and reporting services add in.
Also, check RS Logs in the Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\WebServices\LogFiles and ULS Logs in the Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\15\LOGS.
Thanks.

    In your middle tier (where your dads.conf file is located), do you have a file called marvel.conf (this was used in very early versions of APEX if memory servers)? If so you will either need to put your /pls/apex entry into your marvel.conf file of configure the App Server to user the dads.conf file. (I think all of this is done in the http.conf file but I am not 100%)
    Also, this sounds like a stupid question but can you ensure that you only have entry in you dads.conf or marvel.conf file that relates to /pls/apex
    If you are still having issues, try updating the line: PlsqlDatabaseConnectString faiz:1521:orcl ServiceNameFormat
    to: PlsqlDatabaseConnectString TNS_ENTRY TNSFormat
    where TNS_ENTRY is replaced by a valid TNS Identifier in the same Mid Tier home: ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora
    Finally, in earlier versions you had to use a forward slash character as the last value in the Alias line i.e. Alias /i/ "E:/oracle/product/10.2.0/db/Apache/images\". I always configure this line in this way and never seem to have an issues. Not sure if this is required anymore but may be one more thing that is mis configured.
    I hope all of that helps.
    Let me know how you get on.

  • IIS 500 errors after installing webElements

    Our servers are therapeutically rebooted each Sunday afternoon.  Last week we installed and enabled webElements, including making changes to the server's config files for TomCat to support pass-through HTML.  The TomCat server was restarted after those changes, but the server was not rebooted, and we were able to use the webElements functionality until the weekend.  Since Sunday's server reboot, we are not able to run any reports on that server via the openDocument command, webElements or not, without getting an IIS 500 error screen just after the InfoView logon splash screen is shown.  We are also unable to log into the CMC using anything but Enterprise authentication.
    Curiously, we can run reports using the View option in the CMC, and we can run reports that incorporate WebElements from our desktop Crystal Reports installs.  Only the ability to use OpenDocument URLs appears to be affected.
    Is there anything on the re-configuration of the IIS/TomCat config files for WebElements that can cause IIS 500 error messages after a server reboot?
    Thanks,
    Brad Broyles, Raleigh, NC

    OK, now I'm running with only pass-thru HTML enabled for Java and WEPlatform configured for Java:
    - IIS 500 error has gone away
    - I can HTML Preview WebElements reports in Crystal Reports on my desktop OK
    - I can view WebElements reports in CMC OK
    - HMTL passed as strings when opening WebElements reports with the OpenDocument aspx URL (makes sense, since pass-thru HTML is not enabled for IIS)
    - We aren't configured to use the JSP through TomCat version of OpenDocument; we're a chiefly Microsoft shop, so our focus so far has been on the IIS/aspx version of OpenDocument
    And now I've reconfigured everything to use only pass-thru HTML for .NET/IIS and WEPlatform configured for .NET/IIS:
    - IIS 500 error is back
    - I cannot HTML Preview WebElements reports in Crystal Reports on my desktop
    - HTML displays as strings in CMC
    - IIS 500 error prevents viewing WebElements reports via the OpenDocument aspx URL (just like viewing any other reports, so it is consistent)
    So I'm at a loss as to where to go next.  It does appear that having the .NET/IIS configuration causes the IIS 500 error, but I need it in there to have any hope of using the aspx flavor of OpenDocument (which I could have sworn I saw work at least once last week).  Is there any possibility that there could be errors in the user guide's example code for configuring pass-thru HTML for IIS?  If not, where can we go next in order to figure out how to have this working?
    Thanks in advance,
    Brad Broyles

    looks like the connect string is wrong / especially that you use - I think SOA Suite ..
    so the string should be

  • Provider hosted app installed on SharePoint 2013 on premises is returning internal 500 error !

    Hello,
    I have deployed the basic provider hosted app on sharepoint 2013 on premises.
    However when I try to run the app, its throwing an error on following as mentioned in screen:
    It seems an authentication issue, would you please tell me how can I resolve it ?
    Thank you in advance.
    Kind Regards,
    Dipti Chhatrapati

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that when you run provider hosted app in SharePoint 2013 on premise, the app occurs internal 500 error.
    For using Managed .NET Client Object Model in Provider hosted app, it will need
    TokenHelper.cs to get the ClientContext object like below:
    private void RetrieveWithCSOM(string accessToken)
    if (IsPostBack)
    sharepointUrl = new Uri(Request.QueryString["SPHostUrl"]);
    ClientContext clientContext =
    TokenHelper.GetClientContextWithAccessToken(
    sharepointUrl.ToString(), accessToken);
    //Load the properties for the web object.
    Web web = clientContext.Web;
    clientContext.Load(web);
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
    //Get the site name.
    siteName = web.Title;
    //Get the current user.
    clientContext.Load(web.CurrentUser);
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
    currentUser = clientContext.Web.CurrentUser.LoginName;
    //Load the lists from the Web object.
    ListCollection lists = web.Lists;
    clientContext.Load<ListCollection>(lists);
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
    //Load the current users from the Web object.
    UserCollection users = web.SiteUsers;
    clientContext.Load<UserCollection>(users);
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
    foreach (User siteUser in users)
    listOfUsers.Add(siteUser.LoginName);
    foreach (List list in lists)
    listOfLists.Add(list.Title);

  • SOA Composer Internal 500 error

       Hi All
    Wondering any one can help.  Have an  issue in our environment woth soa/composer displaying an internal 500 error
    Back ground
    We have two domains seperated.
    SOA 1 = SOA and BPM
    SOA2 = SOA and OSB
    All binaries have been installed and configuration has been completed however in
    SOA1 soa/composer works all ok and is up and running except the DVM's are not there.  Probably due to the MDS tables needing to be deployed to to have content.( Any comments if I am wrong on that as well please do not hesitate to advise :-)
    SOA2 soa/composer all I get is.  I have checked the forums and now have a SR raised with no luck as of yet and wondered if any one else has seen the below.
    Error 500--Internal Server Error
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
    JRockit is being used, and I have checked LD_LIBRARY paths, ports etc.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    Use “Get-SPServiceApplicationPool | Select Id,Name” to find the GUID of the SQL Server Reporting Services Service Application pool.
    Thanks.

    Ananda,
    you saved my day!  I've been banging my head against the wall with this same problem during a J2EE add-in installation for SRM 4.0 on Windows, in preparation of an LAC 2.0 installation.  I had tried deleting the schema first, but that didn't work.  After I removed the sys\global\security folder as well, it worked perfectly.
    Thank you.

    If you do not run the catpatch.sql script as described in this section and you start up a database for normal operation, then "ORA-13516: SWRF Operation failed: CATPROC not valid" errors will occur.
    For RAC installations, start node applications on each node of the cluster as follows:
    $ srvctl start nodeapps -n nodename
    For single-instance installations, start the listener as follows:

  • What can I do if I get an internal power error after upgrading to Windows 10?

    QuestionWhat can I do if I get an internal power error after upgrading to Windows 10?
    AnswerSome laptops with AMD graphics that upgraded to Windows 10 are showing blue screens with error messages regarding Internal_Power_Error. If you receive this error, try the procedure in this article.
    First, you'll need to quickly set the boot options to Safe Mode:
    1. Hold the Windows key and press 'R' to open the run box.
    2. Type MSCONFIG, then press ENTER.
    3. Select the BOOT tab.
    4. Under BOOT OPTIONS, check Safe boot, then select Minimal.
    5. Click Apply, then OK.
    6. Click Restart. (If prompted, click Restart anyway.)
    From Safe Mode disable the AMD Display Driver:
    1. Hold the Windows key and press the 'X' key to open a menu in the lower-left.
    2. Click Device Manager.
    3. Expand Display adapters to show the two display adapters.
    4. Double click AMD Radeon R9 M200X Series.
    5. Select the Driver tab.
    6. Click Disable, then click Yes to confirm.
    7. Click Close.
    8. Hold the Windows key and press the 'R' key to open the run box.
    9. Type MSCONFIG, then press ENTER.
    10. Select the BOOT tab.
    11. Uncheck Safe boot.
    12. Click Apply, then OK.
    13. Click Restart. (If prompted, click Restart anyway.)
    From Windows 10 started with the AMD Display Driver disabled:
    1. Hold the Windows key and press the 'X' key to open a menu in the lower-left.
    2. Click Device Manager.
    3. Expand Display adapters to show the two display adapters.
    4. Double click AMD Radeon R9 M200X Series.
    5. Select the Driver tab.
    6. Click Update Driver.
    7. Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
    8. An AMD driver should be found and installed.
    The driver that originally caused this problem is AMD display driver version 15.200.1046.2 dated 7/15/2015.
    The driver installed through this process might have an older date, such as 15.200.1055.0 dated 7/6/2015. That's okay.

    I'm having the same problem.  I got error message 21.  I went to apple store.  they are saying i have a hardware error.  Really, my phone was working before the update.  Asked me for $150 to get another one when I am due to get a new one and wanted to pass this one on to my child.
    Help please,
    I will be glad to go back to the older software update
