Internal dhcp with anchor and foreign

Greetings,
trying to get dhcp going for guest clients.
I can see dhcp requests coming through and getting dropped at the foreign controller.
*DHCP Socket Task: Aug 10 16:19:54.075: 58:94:6b:1d:xx:yy DHCP received op BOOTREQUEST (1) (len 308,vlan 0, port 13, encap 0xec03)
*DHCP Socket Task: Aug 10 16:19:54.075: 58:94:6b:1d:xx:yy DHCP dropping packet
Could someone tell me;
1. why would the DHCP requests processed by the foreign controller instead of the anchor ?
2. do i need to configure dhcp server under the guest WLAN interface on foreign?
I thought all L3 and security stuff is forwarded over eoip to anchor and therefore no need to configure the DHCP server under foreign.
I'm trying to utilise the internal DHCP server (firmware 7.0.220) but so far its not going well.
Thanks,
silva

Hi All,
Steve you got me thinking and thanks to the debugs you provided, I  managed to fix the issue. The problem was caused by local EoIP tunnel that was configured on the foreign  and thus traffic was not getting forwarded.Strange thing I can't remember configuring that as it was not required.Anyway after I removed it, all worked as expected. I'm using internal DHCP and so far it is is working fine as well.
With the ACLs, for guest WLAN, do we neded to configure for both foreign and anchors so that the WLAN configs are identical?
Does not make any sense to me to configure the ACLS on the foreign but can someone confirm?

  • Internal table with Import and Export

    Hi All,
    Hi all
Please let me know the use of <b>Internal table with Import and Export parameters and SET/GET parameters</b>, on what type of cases we can use these? Plese give me the syntax with some examples.
Please give me detailed analysis on the above.
    Regards,
    Prabhu

    Hi Prabhakar,
There are three types of memories.
    1. ABAP MEMORY
    2. SAP MEMORY
    3. EXTERNAL MEMORY.
1.we will use EXPORT/ IMPORT TO/ FROM MEMORY-ID when we want to transfer between ABAP memory
    2. we will use GET PARAMETER ID/ SET PARAMETER ID to transfer between SAP MEMORY
    3. we will use EXPORT/IMPORT TO/FROM SHARED BUFFER to transfer between external memory.
ABAP MEMORY : we can say that two reports in the same session will be in ABAP MEMORY
SAP MEMORY: TWO DIFFERENT SESSIONS WILL BE IN SAP MEMORY.
for ex: IF WE CALL TWO DIFFERENT TRANSACTIONS SE38, SE11
then they both are in SAP MEMORY.
EXTERNAL MEMORY: TWO different logons will be in EXTERNAL MEMORY.
    <b>Syntax</b>
To fill the input fields of a called transaction with data from the calling program, you can use the SPA/GPA technique. SPA/GPA parameters are values that the system stores in the global, user-specific SAP memory. SAP memory allows you to pass values between programs. A user can access the values stored in the SAP memory during one terminal session for all parallel sessions. Each SPA/GPA parameter is identified by a 20-character code. You can maintain them in the Repository Browser in the ABAP Workbench. The values in SPA/GPA parameters are user-specific.
ABAP programs can access the parameters using the SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETER statements.
    To fill one, use:
SET PARAMETER ID <pid> FIELD <f>.
This statement saves the contents of field <f> under the ID <pid> in the SAP memory. The code <pid> can be up to 20 characters long. If there was already a value stored under <pid>, this statement overwrites it. If the ID <pid> does not exist, double-click <pid> in the ABAP Editor to create a new parameter object.
To read an SPA/GPA parameter, use:
GET PARAMETER ID <pid> FIELD <f>.
This statement fills the value stored under the ID <pid> into the variable <f>. If the system does not find a value for <pid> in the SAP memory, it sets SY-SUBRC to 4, otherwise to 0.
To fill the initial screen of a program using SPA/GPA parameters, you normally only need the SET PARAMETER statement.
The relevant fields must each be linked to an SPA/GPA parameter.
On a selection screen, you link fields to parameters using the MEMORY ID addition in the PARAMETERS or SELECT-OPTIONS statement. If you specify an SPA/GPA parameter ID when you declare a parameter or selection option, the corresponding input field is linked to that input field.
On a screen, you link fields to parameters in the Screen Painter. When you define the field attributes of an input field, you can enter the name of an SPA/GPA parameter in the Parameter ID field in the screen attributes. The SET parameter and GET parameter checkboxes allow you to specify whether the field should be filled from the corresponding SPA/GPA parameter in the PBO event, and whether the SPA/GPA parameter should be filled with the value from the screen in the PAI event.
When an input field is linked to an SPA/GPA parameter, it is initialized with the current value of the parameter each time the screen is displayed. This is the reason why fields on screens in the R/3 System often already contain values when you call them more than once.
When you call programs, you can use SPA/GPA parameters with no additional programming overhead if, for example, you need to fill obligatory fields on the initial screen of the called program. The system simply transfers the values from the parameters into the input fields of the called program.
However, you can control the contents of the parameters from your program by using the SET PARAMETER statement before the actual program call. This technique is particularly useful if you want to skip the initial screen of the called program and that screen contains obligatory fields.
    Reading Data Objects from Memory
To read data objects from ABAP memory into an ABAP program, use the following statement:
    Syntax
    IMPORT <f1> [TO <g 1>] <f 2> [TO <g 2>] ... FROM MEMORY ID <key>.
This statement reads the data objects specified in the list from a cluster in memory. If you do not use the TO <g i > option, the data object <f i > in memory is assigned to the data object in the program with the same name. If you do use the option, the data object <f i > is read from memory into the field <g i >. The name <key> identifies the cluster in memory. It may be up to 32 characters long.
You do not have to read all of the objects stored under a particular name <key>. You can restrict the number of objects by specifying their names. If the memory does not contain any objects under the name <key>, SY-SUBRC is set to 4. If, on the other hand, there is a data cluster in memory with the name <key>, SY-SUBRC is always 0, regardless of whether it contained the data object <f i >. If the cluster does not contain the data object <f i >, the target field remains unchanged.
    Saving Data Objects in Memory
To read data objects from an ABAP program into ABAP memory, use the following statement:
    Syntax
    EXPORT <f1> [FROM <g 1>] <f 2> [FROM <g 2>] ... TO MEMORY ID <key>.
This statement stores the data objects specified in the list as a cluster in memory. If you do not use the option FROM <f i >, the data object <f i > is saved under its own name. If you use the FROM <g i > option, the data objet <g i > is saved under the name <f i >. The name <key> identifies the cluster in memory. It may be up to 32 characters long.

  • Trouble with anchor and reference attributes combined with a Correlation ID

Greetings, I'm a little green on FIM and looking for some advice.
We have an HR system where we store the information on Contractors, Interns, and Employees.
The business process for converting Contractors and Interns to Employees is to terminate the Contractor and re-hire as an Employee. This gives us a different employee number for the "live" entry in the HR system.
Also, there is a "Supervisor No" attribute that is a Reference attribute for their manager. This is their employee number.
What do I do in FIM? If the Employee number is the anchor, won't the system consider the employee a new object? Is there a way to connect the new employee record to the metaverse object that was a contractor or intern, and update the anchor attribute (the
    new employee number)?
I was thinking of using a different custom field in the HR system as the FIM_Sync. But just realized that if this became the anchor, then no managers would connect since the Supervisor No is an Employee number.
    Thanks in advance for helping.
    -Doug
    *** Update ***
I read some of the articles on Correlation ID that are in the 2003 version of MIIS the TechNet library. So a follow up question would be what happens between the CS and MV when the HR object changes.. Assuming I have this FIM_Sync attribute to be my
    Correlation ID.
Contractor is created. Employee ID is anchor and FIM_Sync field is populated.
    New object in CS
    Projected into MV
Provisioned out to AD and other systems, but they don't have the FIM_Sync attribute in their schema.
Business Event.. Contactor converted to Employee:
Contractor in HR system terminated (employment_state) and FIM_Sync entry removed.
Employee record created in HR system and FIM_Sync value populated with what it was in the contractor record
    New Employee object in CS
    Does Contractor get disconnected?
Does the Employee CS object get joined to existing MV object?

At one of my previous projects we solved the same scenario as following:
    1. That was not a fully automatic process.
    2. Once we receive event that Contractor is terminated in HR, we put that user in "Terminated Contractors" set, disabling his active accounts, where the object resides for 30 days (business policy) before his accounts are removed from target systems.
    3. There's a custom workflow which triggers a notification to administrators if the following criteria are met:
Name/Surname of fresh Employee are equal to one of the members of "Terminated Contractors" set
Employee record from HR came within a week after Contractor's termination date (also, a business policy, agreed at customer's level. HRs are lazy and not necessarily process that transfer same day).
    4. IAM Administrator contacts HR to ensure that persons in question are actually the same one. Upon confirmation, manual join is made. Once object is joined, Correlation ID is written back to HR (actually, a buffer database acting as HR source) to ensure
that the join can be made automatically.
We faced several problems, though, which are beyond the scope of FIM itself:
    1. HRs were creating Employee record before terminating Contractor's one. A major pain, since new accounts are created, et cetera.
    2. HRs were creating Employee records too late (that's why we set a "timeout" for a week, initially it was two days)
    3. We had a case once when Contractor was terminated and new Employee came with the same name, but those were different people and HR application doesnt allow to differentiate "contractor fired" and "contractor moves to employee" events. That's why we had
to stick to a manual and documented procedure.

  • Runtime error in Dynamic internal table with AMOUNT and Quantity Fields..

    Dear friends,
I am attempting write a dymanic Select Statement (with joins).
And the sleect query looks like this..
      SELECT (LT_SEL_LIST)
      INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF
      TABLE <DYN_TABLE>
      FROM (LT_FROM_LIST)
      WHERE (LT_WHERE3).
Here the into table is a dynamically created internal table..
    which is created by ...this
    CALL METHOD CL_ALV_TABLE_CREATE=>CREATE_DYNAMIC_TABLE
        EXPORTING
          IT_FIELDCATALOG = IT_OUTPUT2[]
        IMPORTING
          EP_TABLE        = DY_TABLE.
the it_output2 contains the the fieldcatlog information of dynamically given fields :-
    like:-
           TABNAME
           FIELDNAME
           DATATYPE
           LENG
           INTTYPE
           ROLLNAME
           DECIMALS
           REFTABLE
           REFFIELD
i mean the internal table is constructed with reference to all the bove metadata.
Problem:- This query run fine with all the fields Except AMOUNT AND QUANTITY fields....
When the selection list contain VBAK-NETWR or MSEG-MENGE..It throws a runtime error.
"The data read during a SLECT access couldnt be inserted into the target field, either conversion is not supported for
the target field's type or the target field is too short."
after this I even tried to construct the dynamic table with CFILEDNAME and QFIELDNAME in the Fieldcatalog.
so now my fieldcatlog looks like this:---
    LOOP AT IT_DD03L..
      IF IT_DD03L-DATATYPE = 'CURR'.
           TABLEFIELD-CFIELDNAME = IT_DD03L-FIELDNAME .
           ENDIF.
       IF IT_FIELDCAT3-DATATYPE = 'QUAN'.
           TABLEFIELD-QFIELDNAME = IT_DD03L-FIELDNAME .
      ENDIF.
           TABLEFIELD-TABNAME     = IT_DD03L-TABNAME.
           TABLEFIELD-FIELDNAME   = IT_DD03L-FIELDNAME.
           TABLEFIELD-DATATYPE    = IT_DD03L-DATATYPE.
           TABLEFIELD-INTLEN      = IT_DD03L-LENG.
           TABLEFIELD-INTTYPE     = IT_DD03L-INTTYPE .

           TABLEFIELD-DECIMALS    = IT_DD03L-DECIMALS.
           TABLEFIELD-REF_TABLE   = IT_DD03L-REFTABLE.
           TABLEFIELD-REF_FIELD   = IT_DD03L-REFFIELD.
    APPEND TABLEFIELD.
    CLEAR TABLEFIELD.
    ENDLOOP.
Note:- this is a test code so ignore performance issues...
Please help me with some code ...to avoid the Runtime erorr.
    Thanks,

    Hi Jeevan,
Why are moving only few fields from DD03L table to your field catalog? Why don't you use move-corresponding? The following code works for me in ECC6.0.

    field-symbols: <ft_data> TYPE STANDARD TABLE.
    select * into table it_dd03l from dd03l
        where tabname = 'VBAK'
and ( fieldname = 'VBELN' or fieldname = 'NETWR' ).
    check sy-subrc eq 0.
    loop at it_dd03l into ls_dd03l.
      move-corresponding ls_dd03l to ls_fldcat.
      append ls_fldcat to lt_fldcat.
      move ls_dd03l-fieldname to ls_where.
      append ls_where to lt_fld.

        clear ls_where.
        concatenate ls_dd03l-fieldname ' <> ''''' into ls_where.
        append ls_where to lt_where.
      endif.
    endloop.
    check not lt_fldcat is initial.
    CALL METHOD cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table

  • Does WLC release 7.6 support internal DHCP when AP and client SSO is configured?

    Hi,
I currently have 5508 WLCs running on release 7.6 and they are to be configured in 1:1 HA mode. Would like to know if internal DHCP is supported if AP and client SSO is to be configured.

Now I want to have a navigation bar with submenus, i.g. one navigation leads to "projects", but within projects I need 6 submenus for every project.
How can I realize this in muse?
    Thanks,

Create a Manual menu and link to the anchors.
    Widgets Library/Menus/Horizontal
In the Options pull out screen: Menu Type: Manual
Mark each menu box you create and link to the specific anchor.
Refer to this section of a site I created that mimics what you want done:

  • [Solved] Recording internal audio with alsa and recordmydesktop

I record Let's Plays and wanted to record them with recordmydesktop.
I first tried to record using ALSA but after reading much threads about that problem I decided to use pulseaudio because it seems to be easier.
But I want ALSA back so I decided to ask here if anyone knows a solution for the ALSA sound server.
    Can anyone help me?

    modprobe snd-aloop
should give you another virtual sound card with an input connected to an output.
Then set up a /~.asoundrc that let you play the stream to the loopback interface and the real speakers too, i used this in the past and it worked:
    pcm.!default {
    type asym
    playback.pcm "LoopAndReal"
    #capture.pcm "looprec"
    capture.pcm "hw:0,0"
    pcm.looprec {
    type hw
    card "Loopback"
    device 1
    subdevice 0
    pcm.LoopAndReal {
    type plug
    slave.pcm mdev
    route_policy "duplicate"
    pcm.mdev {
    type multi
    slaves.a.pcm pcm.MixReale
    slaves.a.channels 2
    slaves.b.pcm pcm.MixLoopback
    slaves.b.channels 2
    bindings.0.slave a
    bindings.0.channel 0
    bindings.1.slave a
    bindings.1.channel 1
    bindings.2.slave b
    bindings.2.channel 0
    bindings.3.slave b
    bindings.3.channel 1
    pcm.MixReale {
    type dmix
    ipc_key 1024
    slave {
    pcm "hw:0,0"
    rate 48000
    #rate 44100
    periods 128
    period_time 0
    period_size 1024 # must be power of 2
    buffer_size 8192
    pcm.MixLoopback {
    type dmix
    ipc_key 1025
    slave {
    pcm "hw:Loopback,0,0"
    rate 48000
    #rate 44100

  • Can i use Internal DHCP on WLC Guest Anchor (5508) with Foreign HA 5508

DHCP Proxy is required in order to use local WLC DHCP Pool (Guest Anchor), however reading Wireless Q&A (http://www.cisco.com/image/gif/paws/107458/wga-faq.pdf) states that both foreign and guest anchors must have :
In a Wireless guest access setup, the DHCP proxy setting in the Guest Anchor controllers
and the internal controller must match. Else, DHCP request from clients are dropped and you
see this error message on the internal controller......
However if you have N+1 you cannot use internal DHCP, does this also "grey" out the DHCP Proxy global setting? If so will the Guest Anchor still work with a internal DHCP pool even though foreign and guest controllers have a mismatch in DHCP Proxy (global) setting?
    Many Thanks
    Kam

Well it should still work... dhcp proxy is required on the WLC that has a dhcp scope.  With the newer code versions, you can enable dhcp proxy on a per interface do this doens't have to be global.

  • Mobility Anchor and AAA Overide VLAN Assignment

    Hello,
I read some document 2 years ago that dynamic VLAN assignment was not possible with Anchored WLANs. Please I would like to know if this is now possible. The network setup would be as follows:
    1. Foreign and Anchor WLC (5508) with single SSID for both guest and internal users
    2. Cisco ISE 1.2 performing AAA override with VLAN tag based on AD group. Guest will go to VLAN for guest after web authentication.
Please a speedy response would be helpful.

    Hi grabonlee,
We have been running an anchor with VLAN override for out Guest services. Works well. VLAN needs to be defined on both the anchor and foreign. We are running 7.6.120 code.

  • 5508 internal DHCP server

    Hi,
A client wants us to use the internal DHCP server on a 5508 instead of Windows DHCP. They will have 15 APs initially and upto 25 later. The docs on the 7.2 WLC make it sound like this is discouraged:
Internal DHCP ServerThe controllers contain an internal DHCP server. This server is typically used in branch offices that do not already have a DHCP server. The wireless network generally contains 10 access points or fewer, with the access points on the same IP subnet as the controller.
In this case, the APs will not be in the same subnet as the Managment Internet.
Is it a mistake to use the internal DHCP with upto 25 APs (3 WLANs)?
    Thanks.

#DHCP proxy needs to be enabled to use internal dhcp on WLC. WLC uses virtual ip for dhcp and they're unicast. So keeping the AP on L3 doesn't work with internal dhcp. dhcp for wireless client works due to the packets are sent to WLC via capwap.
#The DHCP required state can cause traffic to not be forwarded properly if a client is deauthenticated or removed. To overcome this problem, ensure that the DHCP required state is always disabled.
Ans: it is expected behavior irrespective of dhcp being internal or external, it is a feature and not disadvantage.
    Cons:-
    #can't have dhcp reservations.
#can't have option 43 or any other dhcp options.
#DHCP service can't be restarted, WLC reboot is required if needed to so.
#If Multiple WLCs used, need to create non overlapping scope on other WLCs as well.
#Wired clients cannot get ip from internal dhcp. So need to maintain separate network & dhcp server for wired network, and this require routing.
#From WLC GUI, Can't remove the client, need to use cli.
#WLC reboot may clear the dhcp lease, though not sure 100%

  • Unable to record internal audio with RecordMyDesktop

In order to record sound and video from my desktop, I installed RecordMyDesktop (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/RecordMyDesktop) and followed the instructions from post #4 and #6 on a thread about "Recording internal audio with alsa and recordmydesktop" (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 3#p1359593). When I try to record with "recordmydesktop --device looprec", it will not start recording and closes with the following error:

I can record from the microphone with with the command "recordmydesktop". I succeeded in recording the internal audio with audacity by choosing the device "looprec" for recordings. I'm not sure why RecordMyDesktop gives an error while Audacity does not. Below is my ~/.asoundrc, which I copied from the aforementioned thread. I am not knowledgeable, but I guess there is a mistake in it? Would you please assist me solving this error? Thank you for your time.
