Internationalization in webdynpro java

Plz explain me Internationalization concept in webdynpro java applications//////////////////

hi niru,
The goal of Internationalization is to provide the technical foundation for enabling programs to support multiple scripts and languages without redesign or modification. Once a user has selected a logon language, all programs must transparently alter their run-time behavior to meet the expectations of the user. Internationalization furthers generic programming, because hard-encoded search strings, error messages, etc. may work in one language, but not in another.
Internationalization interacts with every face of the system: logon language, language input, menu texts, sorting, character conversion, printing, data transfer - simply put, it is the technical underpinning of global business software
Within Web Dynpro, the language-specific text elements are divided into three types:
Texts that are defined when you create simple data types such as Simple types
Language-Specific Resources that you specify declaratively at design time These include texts that you assign to the UI element properties or define when you create actions, methods, or simple data types.
Messages
Language-dependent resources of the message type text that are used in dynamic programming You can create these text elements also at design time using the message editor.
Furthermore, the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio supports the following:
·        The creation of texts and messages that are added to the properties file using the Message Editor
·        The modification of S2X files already created using the S2X Document Editor
·        The conversion of properties files into S2X files and vice versa The S2X Editor also allows you to add context information to S2X files that is essential for the correct translation of the text elements.
These Web Dynpro tools simplify the process of the creation of international applications and hence the translation process of the language-specific resources.
You can therefore develop applications that suit different languages without having to recompile an application for each individual language when a new language is to be supported.
The Internationalization Service of the Web Dynpro Runtime Services supports this PropertyResourceBundle concept and allows easy access to the classes java.util.ResourceBundle and java.text.format. With the class com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.localization.api.WDResourceHandler, you can read the language-specific text elements using the following source code:
// Load the resource bundle u201CMyResourceBundle.propertiesu201D located
// in the package u201Ccom.sap.testu201D for locale set in the resource handler.
// Therefore, the resource handler also needs the classloader that has
// the package u201Ccom.sap.testu201D in its scope
resourceHandler.loadResourceBundle(u201Ccom.sap.test.MyResourceBundleu201D, this.getClass() );
// get the message of the u201Cpress saveu201D button
String saveMessage = resourceHandler.getString( u201Cpress_saveu201D );

  • Internationalize Interactive Forms WebDynpro Java

    Hi all,
I follow all the instructions in the How To Internationalize Interactive Forms by Adobe for WebDynpro Java.pdf guide and I got the Internationalize in my Development Environment, but when I transport my Web Dynpro App trough NWDI, the Internationalize does not seems to work.
I already check this path in my production environment
    /usr/sap/sys ID/INSTANCE NUMBER/j2ee/cluster/server0/temp/webdynpro/public/wd project/webdynpro/Components/com.mycomponent
and I got to see all the xdp files version (_en,_es,etc) for the Internationalize. Also the ADS configuration is set on the same server for my dev and prd environment.
Also if we forced the Adobe Form to take the xx_en.xdp the form is displayed in English.
Any Ideas for what could be the problem.
    Regards,

We Open an SSO note to SAP and they told as to set xx_EN.xdp, xx_ES.xdp, xx_DE.xdp, etc using the Locale in uppercase

  • Best approach for Internationalization  in Webdynpro

    Hi All,
I need to implement Internationalization in my webdynpro project. But presently we have planning for only 5 languages intially. After that it may need to increase the language setup more than 5 countries.
But the stratagies is like. This internatioalization and globalization should be configurable like. If we planned to implement for one more language. I should not change my code or rebuild the application.so, it should be implemented like this.
In our project we have 5 processes. For Each process we are maintaing as sepearte .SCA file. We need to crate some frame work . It should take care of all the process of internationalization. To this first i needto decide upon approach i need to do it.
    I have identified 3ways.
    1) .properties file each lang
    2) SAP Approach(.xls files)
    3) Maintaining the all the labels at the backend and pull it through BAPI.
Can any body give some kind of idea how  to implement this. Which is the better approach
    Regards
    Vijay

    Hi
if you would like to support 5 languages for the WebDynpro application developed, then using the .xlf approach, you should copy-paste-rename-edit nearly 5 languages multiplied by 6 (.xlf files for the WebDynpro application), which would result in 30 changes
    for more details

  • Internationalization in WebDynpro applications

    Hi,
I have a requirement to internationalize my WebDynpro application.
I have created a WebDynpro component and maintained all the language dependent texts in the .xlf files of that component. 2 applications have been created for the component- 1 in English and 1 in German. Both work fine in their resp. locale when run independently.
Scenario: When the user runs the application, all texts appear in English (default). However, if the user desires to obtain the application in German, he is supposed to click on a button to get all the texts in German.
    Tried solutions:
    1. Making use of the Exit plug. When the user clicks on the German Button, we fire the Exit Plug to the application having  "sap.locale=de"
    2. Appending "?sap-locale=de " to the application URL.
In case of both of the above solutions, the texts do not change as per the locale, however, when I copy the same URL and start a new session in a new browser, the texts appear as per the Locale.
Is there any way of changing the locale dynamically during the same session ?
    Regards,
    Gaurav.

    Hi Gaurav,
You can use key-Value concept of java and KM file concept.
You have to create two java files for declaring constant and key/Value.
You have to define setter/getter method.
You have to use parameterization concept for the Web Dynpro UI name means need to declare attribute and need to bind with the text value for UI's
You have to store key/value file in the KM doc ladder.
You have to pass file name to Application parameter property into the Application iView.
You have read this application parameter in the controller and need to use has map and session concept to read the files value.
    Hope this may help you.
    Deepak!!!

Is this possible in webdynpro java EP 7.0 ?
    Please help me
    Thanks

    Hi Kumar,
If you are using EP7.0, there is no calendar UI element in webdynpro development. There is only date navigator UI element. This is demonstrated in the below article.

  • Passing Parameters via Post Method from Webdynpro Java to a web application

    Hello Experts,
I want to pass few parameters from a web dynpro application to an external web application.
In order to achieve this, I am referring to the below thread:
    HTTP Post
As mentioned in the thread, I am trying to create an additional Suspend Plug parameter (besides 'Url' of type String) with name 'postParams' and of type Map.
But when I build my DC, I am getting the same error which most of the people in the thread have mentioned:
Controller XXXCompInterfaceView [Suspend]: Outbound plug (of type 'Suspend') 'Suspend' may have at most two parameters: 'Url' of type 'string' and 'postParams' of type 'Map'.
I am using SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio Version: 7.01.00
Kindly suggest if this is the NWDS version issue or is it something else that I am missing out.
Also, if it is the NWDS version issue please let me know the NWDS version that I can use to avoid this error.
Any other suggestion/alternative approach to pass the parameters via POST method from webdynpro java to an external web application apart from the one which is mentioned in the above thread is most welcome.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anurag

    Hi,
This is purely a java approach, even you can try this for your requirement.
There are two types of http calls synchronous call or Asynchronous call. So you have to choose the way to pass parameters in post method based on the http call.
if it is synchronous means, collect all the values from users/parameters using UI element eg: form and pass all the values via form to the next page is nothing but your web application url.
If it is Asynchronous  means, write a http client in java and integrate the same with your custom code and you can find an option for sending parameters in post method.
here you go and find the way to implement Asynchronous  scenario,

  • Print button on my webdynpro JAVA page

    Hi Experts,
Is there any way that I can include a print button on my webdynpro JAVA page. ON click of the Print button I have to print the entire Page. User is able to print the page by using the print option of Browser, but in that case if the page is having a vertical or horizontal scroll, print output will contain only the visible part.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi Sarath,
Printing Web Dynpro Java (WDJ) applications is one of the missing functionalities that everyone wants to have in their application. you can use third party open source reporting tool, JasperReports, to solve this issue

  • CATS webdynpro Java - working times in weekly view

    Hi Team
    1.  Start & end time in Weekly view : Requirement is to allow shift planning employees to enter their working times in  weekly view itslef. But as I had discovered that it is possible to enter it only in dailuy view of webdynpro Java application in ERP 6.0.
I came across a better Webdynpro ABAP application which exactly fits the requirement but it is part of EHP5, getting a mini upgrade for one application was also rejected. is it possible to implement in a short period of time without great impact ..anybody experienced on this?

So I am again back to finding way to enhance the weekly view.I read all teh therads...didnt find anyone successful
    2. Default Attendance type & target hours & start & end times from Infotypes : CATS0002 exit is called only when we go to next step ,is there any other way to default as soon as CATS screen is loaded ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated & rewarded.

    Hi Suresh,
Thanks for your valuable inputs. I went and looked into the java file and found bit different.I dont see how they are getting the column headers like Saturday,Sunday,Monday...
Basically I need to keep one 'Submit' button on top of my table and on click, it should populate 8 hrs in the correspounding column. For eg. if its monday, it should default 8 hrs in monday column so  that user dont have to manually type it in and also save these working hrs in the backend system without further click on 'Save' or 'Review'.
I still need to check with the ABAPers regading the user exit.
Also, Is it possible if I create a custom webdynpro application where I can use a BAPI that takes in the current day from my webdynpro and update the cats database and send an export parameter with success or error message.
    Thanks

    Hi Amit,
Create provider system in NWA -> SOA management -> System Connections. After ping is successful go to NWA -> Application Communication and select your DC and assign the provide system for your service configuration group.
I hope it will works fine as we also did the same.

  • Call stateless session bean EJB 2.0 from Webdynpro Java UI

    Hello,
Can someone please tell me asto how to call a stateless session bean EJB 2.0 from Webdynpro Java UI?
    The NWDS version is 7.0.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Arya

    Hi Aryadipta
    Please check this pdfs
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/b00917dc-ead4-2910-3ebb-b0a63e49ef10&overridelayout=true
Steps for calling stateless session bean in Webdynpro java
Go to NWDS -> open perspective ->j2ee
select EJB Module Project ->create a project with name
Open the Project -->RC on ejb-jar.xml -> Select new --> EJB
Give name to EJB Bean (First letter should be in capital letters)
select the type of bean as Stateless session bean and give the package name to store that EJB bean.
After that Expand ejb-jar.xml and then select the <projectEJB>
Double click on this on method  tab double click you will get business method where we will create the methods for business logic
Double click on projectEJB and then RC on bean tab and write required business logic in bean window as follows(based on requirement we will design a business logic).
After writing the business logic go to project -> rebuild
Till now we have created one EJB jar file
then go to File-->Enterprise Application Project -->create a project (projectEAR)
After creating a project click on next-> here we will have ear projects and then we select specific project required for our application.(here select projectEJB)
After that Calculate EAR project will be available on j2ee explorer.
    Right click on <Bean> here
select New->Web Service->give a name to webservice and select Default configuration type as simple SOAP
    -->click next -> Finish.
That webservice and related are created in ejb-jar.xml .
Expand the ejb-jar.xml.and double click on < webservice>
RC ProjectEJB -> Build EJB Archive RC on CalculateEAR ->Build applicationarchive.
Expand the projectEAR->RC on CalculateEAR.ear->Deploy to J2EE Engine
Double click on calculateEAR.ear ->Webservice navigator tab ->we eill servers expand the node
    select the specific WebService
Here we test the webservice by click on Test and test it.
After that go to Web dynpro perspective ->create one webdynpro Project and one component
RC on model> Select import Web Service model(last)>give model name and package
and select radio button as local file system or URL
Go to WSnavigator->copy the WSDL path and paste it in model WSDL path and click on finish.
from here onwards steps are same as that adaptive RFC model
    Hope it helps
    Thanks

    Hi Sujana,
For deploying Web Dynpro for Java application, J2EE_admin correct password must be stored in the scured area of config tool.
Your error show that J2EE_admin information is not correct.
So, Please ask your basis team to update new J2EE_ADMIN password or you can do it in scured area of config tool.
    Hope this will helps you.
