Interruption of service in case of reapplying permissions

Hello everyone. I've a question:
Have a shared folder on 2008 R2 server. In its NTFS permissions i've got 2 domain groups + localadmins + SYSTEM account. Share is rather old, and subfolders in in have different owners and permissions. I'm trying to make a replica of this folder
using DFS. It doesn't work. Also, some of the files & folders in this share have no permissions for local or even domain admins to view\copy it. I'm thinking of replacing owner of share (and subfolders) to local server administrators, but afraid what this
share will be unaccessible during or after reapplying permission. Is it safe, for example to change owners of share and subfolders (will old permission stay?) and then re-add group of local admins & SYSTEM account modify permission, so DFSR can work after
all?

The owner has an implied right to allow or deny other users permission to use the object, and this right cannot be withdrawn. Among other permissions, owners can give other users permission to Change Permissions (WRITE_DAC).
If you only add domain admins to view\copy the shared folder, old permissions will not change.

You could check what (if anything) else is running on that port.
From a command prompt, type netstat -ano | find 995
This will give you the Process Identifier (PID) for the process that is running on port 995. Then you can open Task Manager, add PID as an additional column, and find out what that process is.

I upgraded and charged last month for Adobe Complete. But I was downgraded to Free version. Can this be fixed without further interruption of services?

Should I continue with the Free version (with limited/ downgraded services) until it finishes? Does it automatically update to my paid account once Free version expires? Sadly, with this I wouldn't be able to use all features I've already paid for.
But I'm more concerned with the interruption of services this problem would cause. Can this be fixed without further interruption of services?

Billible service in case (ISH) as a profitability analysis characteristic

We have implemented Case Costing Level 2 in order to analyze case costs
in CO-PA.
We wanted to define the billable service as a characteristic in COPA in
order to have the ability to get a P&L (profit and loss) for each
service and service group (according to the defined value fields in
COPA).
We have defined the case based order as real order with a settlement
rule to a profitability segment. Is it possible to distribute revenue
and case costs to PA between the different billable services in the
case?.

Thank you for the quick update.
The document is updated to COPA through OKB9 settings. The profitability segment is updated with fields like customer, product, company code, plant, sales area data, profit center, etc; however the sales order number is missing.
Could you please elaborate further how could FI substitution be implemented to call for the FM COPA_PROFITABILITY_SEGMENT through user exit? Are you recommending the substitution through GGB1? What could be the possible validation to call for the user exit to be implemented?

Business Objects, external services and application services in CAs

Hi All,
right now we are developing our first eSOA Composite Application with CE and I have some questions regarding Business Objects, the import of external services and the development of application services.
As I understood there are two ways to provide business functionality for composite applications:
a. Import backend functionality as an external service (e.g. BAPI, RFC) at the CAF, build the application service which can be used as a callable object for UIs or the GPs
b. Develop a local Business Object (in CAF) providing the business logic, create the application service which again can be used as a callable object. Furthermore the application service can be exposed as a Web Service (external service).
My questions:
1. When is it appropriate to to import external services in stead of developing local BOs?
2. Under what conditions is it advisable to (solely) develop local BOs?
3. What are the advantages / disadvantages regarding the reusability of the services (in option a and b)?
Note: We are developing on NetWeaver 2004s.
Please let me know, if you need more information to answer the questions!

Hi Ivonne,
first of all, the CAF Business Objects (BOs) itself don't contain any business logic, they're basically just local database tables (with some CRUD services on top).
Business logic is implemented in Application Services (AS).
Now, regarding local BO's vs. external services, it depends on your use case. If the data is already available somewhere in your backend system it makes sense to use external services. For instance you wouldn't want to store business partners all over different composites. For data that is specific to your composite (in particular configuration, customizing etc.) and not likely to be reused by other applications you should use local BOs.
Accessing local BO's is also much faster than calling external services.
You can do reuse in both scenarios, since the CAF services can be exposed as web services.

SharePoint 2013 Infopath Web Service Get File within list permissions

I am looking for a web service to pull a form within a form libraries permissions. So a user creates a form and requests access for him/herself and whomever he/she wants to have access to the form, I then go to file share with and grant only these
people access. lets say I now have 2000 forms and and I want a column that says these people have been granted access to this file instead of clicking each file going to properties and checking share with permissions. What web call would I use
for this, been searching and keep finding how to share with people instructions and now how to use a web service to pull the names.

Please go to task list page and click customize form, then publish it in the InfoPath form designer.
Now add a new page in SharePoint site, insert task list web part, then insert an InfoPath form web part. Click the triangle on the top right corner > Edit web part > Connections > Get form from, see if you could select task now.

FIM Password Reset Client Service error 1053 when starting service - what is the minimum permissions set?

I've installed Password Reset Client Service on a machine with locked down GPO settings. Now, service, running under NETWORK_SERVICE account doesn't start (Service Control Manager reports error 1053 after waiting 30 seconds for the service to respond during
start).
If I change service account to some other account (i.e. domain account), service runs fine and I am able to reset password successfully, so there is no issues with password reset infrastructure, firewall, etc..). Problem is only with NETWORK SERVICE not
having enough permission to do its job.
Unfortunately, there is no event log entries in neither of relevant event logs (Application, Security, System, Forefront Identity Manager) that would provide additional information on why service doesn't start. ProcessMonitor tracing revealed only, that
service cannot access some of the registry entries. After granting permissions, service still refuses to start.
What I'd like to know is there a list of permissions, configuration entries, that NETWORK SERVICE needs in order to run normally?
If that is not available, does anybody have any idea, how to find out what is preventing NETWORK SERVICE account from running that service?

The above often solves it because this disabled CRL checking for the account running the service. As the service is the network service, it has no scope off of the box, so the machine account is typically used and many shops have policies in place that prevent
this. If the above entry doesn't help, try using your account as the service account. If that works, then its probably a syntax problem with above entry. If it fails with your account too then its most likely not CRL checking. There is
a registry key that can be configured that could assist:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \System \CurrentControlSet \Control]
ServicesPipeTimeout = 30000
Try setting this to another value higher than 30000. This value is milliseconds. I would also look at network capture and verify if we are indeed attempting to go to the Internet during service startup.

Command "service-policy input policy-name permit-any" will not work

have a SG500 with latest Firmware, but this command will not work.
service-policy input QoS_01 permit-any
i get this error message:
% Wrong number of parameters or invalid range, size or characters entered
without the option "permit-any or deny-any" the command is successfully.
What is the reason?
It is important, directly to specify this options. Otherwise to lose the access to the switch.

And now i will bind this QoS policy to a Ethernet port.
cli tutorial example say:
Use the service-policy Interface Configuration (Ethernet, Port-channel) mode command to bind a policy map to a port/port-channel. Use the no form of this command to detach a policy map from an interface.
This command is only available in QoS advanced mode.
Syntax

Full Service - Switch from Metered to Permit Indicia

Background:
We are participating in Full Service IMB for 1st Class mail with a typical mailing of 110,000 to 120,000 mail-pieces each day. On any given day, there may be 15 - 50 pieces that weigh over 1 ounce. This is due to enclosures and the number of pages in the envelope. We are metering our mail at the correct postage rate. These overweight pieces are removed from the current mailing and the proper postage is applied.
Task:
I am analyzing the potential of switching away from using meters to a preprinted permit indicia.
Question:
Is there a way for presort to identify the overweight pieces within the Mail.Dat files? If so How?
With the randomness of these overweights, what is the recommended method for handling these pieces?
Any known best practices?

I can't really think of an easy way to identify these pieces within the Mail.dat files.
What method are you using to set up the verisons within Presort? Version Description blocks or AUTO-DIMEN within the Version Defaults block?

Iphone 5 reception- no service with case on

Okay, so lately I have had a problem with getting LTE and having NO service in places where I used to. I didn't put two and two together until my friend (whom when I bought 2 cases off ebay I gave her one) said that she wasn't getting service either until she took her case off! These cases we bought are just plain plastic cases (with a sparkly back) so i'm wondering if there is a reason why this is happening? Or if anyone else has had this issue? Or if there is any complaints out there about the reception on the 5's? I love the case, it ***** that I will have to take it off to take care of the problem !

Buy a different case. The case being used is obviously interferring with the antenna.

As I told you in other post, SAP Mexico supports de IS-H Mexican Localization. The mexican localization makes some changes to the standard NMM7 and you probably discharge them after hot package instalation. Contact the subsidiary.
I'm sure thet after HP Instalation, changes to standard in transaction SPAU were rejected.

I have never really payed any attention to web-services.
Could anyone please describe a challenging/interesting use-case that involves a Java enabled mobile and well known web services (the more, the merrier :-)?
For example,
1. connect to web-service X
2. get list of information about A
3. use A to make a reservation in another web-service Y
4. do an online payment with JSR-177 APDU package..
and so on...
I am looking for something that could convince anyone that JavaME web-services are the coolest thing on earth and that any platform without them, is limited :->

UPS Service Account Replicate Directory Changes Permissions through AD group?

I am trying to configure the UPS.
Is it possible to grant the sync account SP-UPS Replicate Directory Changes permissions through an AD group or do these permissions need to be granted exclusively using ADSI edit?

you can add a group or user name using the ADSI, that's what you want to know or something else?

Deplorable foreign costomer service, no resolve to 2 year service interruptions.

I have been reporting internet outages whenever it rains for two years. As of this writing, I have been without internet for five days.
Four or five in home tech visits and six routers later, the situation has only worsened. My attempts at receiving service have resulted in insulting repetition of the identical scripted answeres in thick Indian accents, despite my asking to be, and subsequently being told I had been transferred to the United States.
When the operators were pressed, one said they were in my home town (population 12000- there is no Verizon office at all save wireless kiosks in strip malls) and could not name the street they were on, another could not name a state that bordered the one they claimed to be in. It's simple enough to call someone out as a phony when the sound like a Delhi native and can't tell me the zipcode of the town they insist they are in. Especially since I am a former USPS employee who actually LIVES in said town. This attempted ruse is both pathetic and insulting. I am, as of this writing, far beyond livid.
Finally I was transferred to an ACTUAL American customer service rep and the issue I'd been trying to get a service technician to repair was addressed and an appointment was made within 90 seconds. First nightmare of horrid customer service put to rest. Maybe.
On to the next debacle- the home technicians that have been dispatched to my location over the course of two years- due entirely to a continual absence of service and complete lack of attempts to repair the leaky line that is causing it - have unanimously informed me I am too far from the origin of the signal and that I have been paying full price for a service, of which I have been receiving less than half (7Mbp maximum). I was also informed this struggle between signal and router was causing some of the many service interruptions- upwards of thirty times a day if it is raining. They recommended I drop my service to 3Mbp maximum.
When I attempted to have this done, my Indian operator could not do so, insisting that 1Mbp maximum was the only other option, 3Mbp was "impossible". Another 4 telephone transfers to people pretending to be in the U.S. and as many angry demands for an actual U.S. representative, I finally reach a woman in Pennsylvania. However, she is financial, not technical. Luckily, she connects me to someone in Arizona and I was easily reduced to 3Mbp within 3 minutes.
I demand a telephone number that provides a DIRECT line to a customer service representative in THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, not India and a rebate for nonless than half of my entire paid billing amount since the beginning of my use of your service, as I have received less than half of the product I have paid for due to distance from the main office combined with constant outages every time it rains.
Your foriegn operators know NOTHING of your services, nor how they function, their attempts to deceive customers, their ridiculous repetition of scripts and total refusal to connect customers to their requested parties is inexcusable.
In closing- if the simple solution of repairing the main lines that are 80 years old and leak whenever it rains, causing a short and interrupting my service are repaired, I will cease the above demands and will not pursue action my with the Better Business Bureau.
I'm not unreasonable, I simply expect to get what I pay for and decent customer service.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.
Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions.
