Introduction about XI

Hi,
I am a J2EE developer and new into SAP.I dont have any idea about SAP XI. Can anyone tell about the documents which i can read so that my basics of XI can clear.I just need very simple and basic docs.

  • About COGI, COFC, CO1P and CO16N

    Hi Experts,
    Could anyone give me an introduction about COGI, COFC, CO1P and CO16N?
    what kind of scenario will go to which T-code as above?
    Is there any relationship between these t-code? I remember when I processed a record in CO1P, some "old" error appeared again in COGI, why?
    Thanks

    Dear
    Find below the terminology as  given by our experts :
    1.COGI : COGI - Keep track of all the back flushing failure during production confirmation .Any Incorrect Material Movement during the Production Process Order Confirmation related to costing , inventory are captured in COGI.
    2.COFC: COFC -Error in calculation of actual costs of the production order ,Reprocessing Errors Actual Costs .
    3.CO1P: CO1P is defined for preselected confirmation processes reprocessing. Means suppose in any case during backflusing & auto GR any error occured or this auto processing terminated by system, then we can again process these functions with CO1P.pecifically usefull while background processing of backflush or Auto GR. Where any batch job got cancelled or completed with error for specific production orders, then we can re run these PO's with CO1P.
    4.CO16N reprocessing of incorrect confirmation the vvariant we use in this is no set parameter it will look on entire production which has several plant to look up. when seen result of our batch job it was finished but the duration was huge, even duration was huge we did not see in the Job log any time-out error, it seems it ok.

  • Some Windows 8.1 Modern Apps will not open

    Hi We have been using Windows 8 for 2 years, however since a recent migration to a global AD system multiple modern apps have stopped working. Mail, Store, Camera etc all work - however as an example Yammer, Weave, Facebook, Ebay etc all go to open, show
    the splash screen then close (well they remain open on the side bar as a splash screen.
    I ran the modern UI checker tool, all ok (initially it told me UAC was disabled, but it wasn't - but I clicked to correct this and its not reappeared.) it prompted me to update all my drivers - which I have done. I've checked folder permissions as per Article

    Is there anything else I can check - it must be a group policy or rights change, but I can not find it. Additioanlly we are looking to widen the rollout of Windows 8 but unitll we resolve this there is no point.

    Hi,
    Since it is joint in a domain computer, some Windows store Apps may be turned off by the  domain system administrator by group policy.
    You should go to the domain system administrator for help or deal with this according to the following link if you have the permission:

  • How to write the expression when create the calculated column?

    Dear,
           I want to create some calculated column in my attribute view, but I don't know how to write the code in the expression, is there any introduction about this part, how to use those function and how about the grammar in this expression code ?  or is there any example about this calculated column?
       Thanks for your sincerely answer.

    Hi Zongjie,
    you can find some information about the creation of calculated columns in the HANA Modeling Guide (http://help.sap.com/hana/SAP_HANA_Modeling_Guide_for_SAP_HANA_Studio_en.pdf).
    Within chapter 6.2.1 (Create Analytic Views) you can see under point 7 some basics and also a simple example. The same is also valid for Calculation Views.
    Chapter 8.9 (Using Functions in Expressions) describes the different available functions.
    You also can use the integrated search in the HANA Studio by clicking the "?" button in the button left corner. Then you get some links in the side panel with related information.
    In general you can write your expression manually or you can just drag and drop the functions, elements, operators into the editor window. For example if you drag and drop the "if" function into the editor window you get "if(intarg,arg2,arg3)" inserted. The arguments can be replaced manually or also by drag and drop.
    It is also worse to use the "Validate Syntax" button on top of the editor window. It gives you directly a feedback if your expression syntax is correct. If not you get some helpful information about the problem (ok, sometimes it is a little bit confusing because of the cryptic error message format ).
    Best Regards,
    Florian

  • ? - Is there a way to validate 1 XML record at a time, using the SAX or oth

    Hello!
    Before running into space problems, i generated an XML file from a 'pipe delimited' file and and then processed that XML file thru a SAXParser 'validator' and the data was correctly validated, using the RELAXNG Schema patterns as the validation criteria!
    But as feared, the XML file was huge! (12 billion XML recs. generated from 1 billion 'pipe' recs.) and i am now trying to find a way to process 1 'pipe' record at a time, (ie) read 1 record from the 'pipe delimited' file, convert that rec. to an XML rec. and then send that 1 XML rec. thru the SAXParser 'validator', avoiding the build of a huge temporary XML file!
    After testing this approach, its looks like the SAXParser 'validator' (sp.parse) is expecting only (1) StringBufferInputStream as input,and after opening, reading and closing just (1) of the returned StringBufferInputStream objects, the validator wants to close up operations!
    Where i have the "<<<<<" you can see where i'm calling the the object.method that creates the 'pipe>XML' records 'sb.createxml' and will be returning many occurances of the StringBufferInputStream object, where (1) StringBufferInputStream object represents (1) 'pipe>XML' record!
    So what i'm wondering, is if there is a form of 'inputStream' class that can be loaded and processed at the same time! ie instead of requiring that the 'inputStream' object be loaded in it's entirety, before going to validation?
    Or if there is another XML 'validator' that can validate 1 XML record at a time, without requiring that the entire XML file be built first?

    Well,i think you can use the streaming API for xml processing provided by weblogic.It is pull model,not push model like SAX.with it,you can select the events you want without having to react to every event,and you can filter the events out.
    Sun also provide such streaming API for xml processing,and i got an very simple introduction about it on the Chinese Sun developer site.but i couldn't find any other infomation about it elsewhere! If you have such materials,please send to my email:[email protected],and if I have it,i will be sure to post the links here.hope it helps more or less:)

  • Bug? Socks Proxy not taking effect for SocketChannel

    I find there's something not working when setting socks proxy in my java application.
    In java api there's such introduction about socks proxy setting:
    (from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/net/properties.html)
    SOCKS protocol support settings
    The SOCKS username and password are acquired in the following way. First, if the application has registered a java.net.Authenticator default instance, then this will be queried with the protocol set to the string "SOCKS5", and the prompt set to to the string "SOCKS authentication". If the authenticator does not return a username/password or if no authenticator is registered then the system checks for the user preferences "java.net.socks.username" and "java.net.socks.password". If these preferences do not exist, then the system property "user.name" is checked for a username. In this case, no password is supplied.
    socksProxyHost
    socksProxyPort (default: 1080)
    Indicates the name of the SOCKS proxy server and the port number that will be used by the SOCKS protocol layer. If socksProxyHost is specified then all TCP sockets will use the SOCKS proxy server to establish a connection or accept one. The SOCKS proxy server can either be a SOCKS v4 or v5 server and it has to allow for unauthenticated connections.
    I am using java.nio.channels.SocketChannel to do packets trasferring, and I've caught all the packets with Ethereal, but I find there's no packets to the socks proxy.
    What I use in the application is as below:
    System.getProperties().setProperty("socksProxySet", "true");
    System.getProperties().setProperty("socksProxyHost", socksProxyHost);
    System.getProperties().setProperty("socksProxyPort", socksProxyPort);I do this above before the connection issues. The connection lines are belows:
    SocketChannel s = SocketChannel.open();
    InetSocketAddress addr = new InetSocketAddress("daisho.waaaghtv.com",  10383);
    if (s.connect(addr)) {
      System.out.println("Socks Proxy Complete!");
    }else {
      System.out.println("Socks Proxy Failed!");
    }But every time it prints me "failed" message. I am sure that I can use the socks proxy to connect to daisho.waaaghtv.com:10383.
    My shortened program is:
    import java.net.InetSocketAddress;
    import java.nio.channels.SocketChannel;
    public class socketTest {
      public static void main(String[] args) {
        try{
          System.getProperties().setProperty("socksProxySet", "true");
          System.getProperties().setProperty("socksProxyHost", "166.111.70.13");
          System.getProperties().setProperty("socksProxyPort", "1080");
          SocketChannel s = SocketChannel.open();
          InetSocketAddress addr = new InetSocketAddress("daisho.waaaghtv.com",  10383);
          if (s.connect(addr)) {
            System.out.println("Socks Proxy Complete!");
          }else {
            System.out.println("Socks Proxy Failed!");
        }catch(Exception e) {
          e.printStackTrace();
    }The printed message is:
    java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect
         at sun.nio.ch.Net.connect(Native Method)
         at sun.nio.ch.SocketChannelImpl.connect(Unknown Source)
         at socketTest.main(socketTest.java:12)I can find very limited help from internet, hope you could help me.

    But it's stated surely both in the 1.4 API and 1.5 API that it supports socks proxy by simply setting the system properties.
    I set socksProxySet to be true because I've found it from internet, but, yup, it seems useless.
    You mean the only way is to implement the socks proxy in my code? I know there is (or was, whatever) some open source project that is on this kinda topic, but ain't there a simple way?

  • A socket in several threads

    This is an academical question. I'm satudying Telecommunications and tomorrow I have an exam about Concurrent Programming.
    My questions is quite simple and you can ommit this introduction about what is the exercise if you prefer.
    We have seen some ways to pass messages between threads. Once we use an active monitor to take control over the mutex. In this case the active monitor consists of a simple Thread which answers proxys threads petitons for accesing to the mutex. To communicate with the Active Monitor we use s-pipes, which are just a pair of sockets connected where you send messages from one socket and read them from the other. For example we have an array of two sockets, connected: data[0] and data[1].
    The proxys thread have all of them the socket data[0] that they use for sending petitions in accesing mutex to the Active Monitor. Anything wrong till here?
    We use a BufferedReader (I think) for sending messages through the socket.
    Question: Can all these threads use this socket to send petitions without synchronizing it?

    That's not a problem. I didn't explain all the things which are involved in the program. The Control Thread doesn't answer through the same s-pipe.
    So if T1 and T2 ask for acces to mutex, they wait until they recieve a responsen in an another s-pipe only dedicated for each of them. The s-pipe I called data[0] and data[1] is used just for sending requests and nothing else.
    So there are:
    - A pair of sockets for sending petitions to Control Thread, they are used only in one way. In this case data[0] is the socket in the proxys threads (T1, T2, ....) and data[1] is the socket in the Control Thread.
    - A pair of sockets for each proxy thread, for answering petitions of all the Proxy Threads. For example. If we have 3 proxy threads: T1, T2 and T3. There are then: RecieveAskT1[1] which is in T1; RecieveAskT1[0] which is in Control Thread.
    RecieveAskT2[1] which is in T1; RecieveAskT2[0] which is in Control Thread.
    RecieveAskT3[1] which is in T1; RecieveAskT3[0] which is in Control Thread.
    So the problem is with the socket data[0] which is used for T1, T2,...
    What is important for me is: if some of the methods which are involved in sending "things" through a socket are synchronized? Otherwise I cannot understand how my professer uses data[0] without protecting it against the scheduler.
    Previous thanks for you future answer!

  • IMap and Google recognition when using a third part domain with forwarding

    Hi,
    I have iWeb and have brought a domain name from Godaddy. The Godaddy domain is set to forward to the .Mac account so I can easily edit the information with iWeb - however, I have registered the site with Google (a few weeks ago now), but it still doesn't show, even if I type in the domain exactly and search.
    I am tempted to get iMap, but it says something on the introduction about it may not work well with forwarding although doesn't make it clear what it actually means...?
    I have heard that possibly iWeb can publish to FTP, meaning I can do it straight to my domain name, but will I only get one page, or can it create new pages.
    I'm stuck, any explanations or help would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks

    OK. So I think it am on to it - kind of. I followed this article http://newmacuser.com/iweb-with-godaddy-domain/
    Although I have still specified for Godaddy to forward my domain using the usual function which I have had enabled before - I haven't touched the masking section.
    Is this right? I guessed I had to keep it forwarded, because just changing the @ symbol to web.mac.com wouldn't know what site to forward it to??
    Also, will iMap now work to get me recognized in Google?
    Still a little confused - can you tell

  • Need a help / advice & guidance whether to switch on my Career in SAP-PM from core industries after spending my 09 years of experience in Core field that to in Maintenance.

    Hello Adviser /expert,
    Need a help / advice & guidance whether to switch on my Career in SAP-PM from core industries after spending my 09 years of experience in Core field that to in Maintenance.
    As now i m thinking to do SAP-PM certified course from authorized SAP partner in India that to Pune.
    So any one can suggest authorized SAP partner in India that to Pune.
    My introduction (About myself): - I had done my Diploma in Mechanical and had total 09 years of experience in Mechanical Maintenance field that to in different manufacturing company such as Steel, Auto Ancillary & Cotton plant.
    Whether its right decision to change my career from Core sector to SAP-PM..??
    Is there very good scope in SAP-Pm for me after 09 years of Core Maintenance field..???
    Guide me
    Warm Regard
    Ravin

    Ravindra,
    SAP PM is very niche Module, very in demand module, at the same time, being niche, getting into it and getting 1 implementation is also difficult.
    your decision of joining SAP authorized training is the best option, as a certified consultant, you have more chances to get a break as fresher and you can continue working on it, else it would waste of your intellectual energy.
    you just search sap.com training or email them or chat with them, they will give u the training center details,
    but very less training classes are available. Try you will get lucky soon

  • Help Please!!  Best Practices for building an NDS Project...

    We are doing a Proof of Concept on using NDS to develop non-SAP Java applications. We are attempting to determine if we can replace our current Java development tools with NDS/WAS.
    We are struggling with SAP's terminology and "plumbing" for setting up/defining Java projects. For example, what is and when do you define Tracks, Software Components, Development Components, etc. All of these terms are totally foreign to us and do not relate to our current Java environment (at least not that we can see). We are also struggling with how the DTR and activities tie in to those components.
    If any one has defined best practices for setting up Java projects or has struggled with and overcome these same issues, please provide us with some guidance. This is a very frustrating and time-consuming issue for us.
    Thank you!!

    Hello Peggy,
    this is my first post but I hope it helps you anyway.
    To learn the SAP "language" I additionally used the a SAP Presentation regarding the SAP JDI.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/java development infrastructure real world use webinar.pdf
    I think this one is quite useful as an addon to the other links for information you already got. Your name also indicates that your mother-tongue language is German. If so, the german version of the book (Java-Programming with the SAP WAS) is already available for purchase and really useful. Then, you can also use the information provided by the University of Potsdam. They have an introduction about how to setup a track in the SLD and then how to setup SCs.
    http://epic.hpi.uni-potsdam.de/nwlab/SC+Track.html
    Hope this helps...

  • Query related to  PPR

    hi,
    i am new to OAF
    i am trying to implement a PPR..
    i have column say xyz in a table region.,when i update this i should get some automatic changes at other column...i should write some logic (arthemetic) for this purpose...
    i made action type at the xyz as firepartialaction and made some parameters
    with name and value of the item where i need some changes to be reflected..now after this..
    i should write some code in processformrequest() ..i read the devguide..i am unable to understand what he did der???
    please help me..what to do after this...
    Regards
    Sandeep.G

    A brief Introduction about PPR.
    You control the following four properties using the PPR: ReadOnly, Required, Render and Disabled. Now for this purpose you would be creating a dummy VO (called Partial View Object which would have attributes of type boolean). At the same time in the respective properties of the Items/regions you give SPEL type binding (example given in User's Guide) wherein you associate the Boolean Attributes of the Partial VO with the properties (the ones mentioned earlier.. Read Only etc) of the field. Now on some event, you would catch it (in processFormRequest) and call a method in your AMImpl which would set the proerties of those attributes as true or false depending on whose the property values would get controlled. Thus this looks as a Partial Page Refresh to the user.
    Now please go through the User Guide again and I am sure you would be more comfortable this time.
    Thanks
    Sumit
