As you can see I have 2 segments of N1 with bill-to and ship-to addresses. I don't see anything suspicious in any of  N1 or N3 or G69.
I would really appreciate help!!

In your Agreement, is "Character set to be used" set to "Basic", "Extended" or "UTF8/Unicode"?
Basic only allows capitalized letters fra A-Z.
However, since you are also getting errors in your N1 segment, I'm not sure this is the case. I have a feeling that the problem has to do with spaces in your strings, can you try the following:
- Remove all spaces from any of the texts in your document (example: SOUTHEAST COMPANY -> SOUTHEASTCOMPANY).
- If the first step eliminates the error, make sure that your spaces has hex-value 20 (decimal 32) and that no spaces has been chosen in your Agreement for any of the characters in "Character set and separators".

    I edited the source file and saved it as UTF-8. It seems, it resolved the issue.
    Very cool.

    Hi Gag,
    1.Create a new custom receive pipeline
    2.Add the XmlDisassembler to the pipeline and configure it to your need.
    3.Add the FixEncodingComponent to the pipeline in the Decode stage, so that it is run before the XmlDisassembler.
    4.Set the Encoding parameter of the component in the Property Explorer to the encoding you want to use. To make this easier, the component implements a custom
     UITypeEditor that pops up a list of all the encodings supported by the .NET framework:
    For encoding Component you can visit

  • Invalid character error while activating data in DSO.

    Hi Experts,
    We are facing an issue with presence of invalid characters in data from source. This throws SID generation error while activating data in DSO. Long text of error shows like this:
    "Value " ĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠ" (HEX 000D0120012001200120012001200120012001200120012001) of characteristic  contains an error at position 1"
    Also we've tried adding the character " Ġ " in TCode RSKC, but it then shows as a rectangle box which I'm not able to copy manually(looks like a blank space or something of that sort).
    We've tried implementing routine to remove special characters while loading data, but still it fails. Due to huge amounts of data, its practically unfeasible to check each record manually.
    Any useful suggestions will be acknowledged.

    Hi,
      We are using following code for the same purpose. U can use it at infoobject level mapping. This code will check value of each character in the data coming, whether it is in RSKC, if it is a allowed one then it will be passed as it is. Otherwise it will replace that character by space.

    This is the full message

    You really need to put your codes between the
    [\code] tags
    see http://forum.java.sun.com/features.jsp#Formatting
    for more infoCode tags might make it look a little better, but there's still too darn much code. We're volunteers, after all. It'd be a lot of work to review all of this stuff. Can you demonstrate your problem with something smaller? Learn out how to do a combo box with just a page or two and then appy that to your big problem. That's how I'd do it. - MOD

    To load that file with BULK INSERT, use this format file:
    9.0
    4
    1 SQLCHAR 0 0 "\""      0 ""    ""
    2 SQLCHAR 0 0 "\",\""   1 col1  Latin1_General_CI_AS
    3 SQLCHAR 0 0 "\",\""   2 col2  Latin1_General_CI_AS
    4 SQLCHAR 0 0 "\"\r\n"  3 col3  Latin1_General_CI_AS
    Note that the format file defines four fields while the fileonly seems to have three. The format file defines an empty field before the first quote.
    Or, since you already have a .NET program, use a stored procedure with table-valued parameter instead. I have an example of how to do this here:

  • XML invalid character -  a single quote problem

    Hi, I am reading in an xml file, then write the file to output. The problem is that the input file has a strange single quote character [ **  ] - lets call it single quoate A, which is different from [  *'*  ] , that is the key next to the [ ; ] key on an English keyboard - lets call it single quate B. And in fact there isnt a key to input single quote A, I guess the appearance of single quote A is due to encoding.
    If I open the input xml file in browser, it works ok and displays the single quote A.
    Once I read in the xml file into memory, by debugging I can still see that single quote A is corrected encoded;
    However once I rewrite the same content to output, the single quote A character is changed, and if i open the file in browser, it says 'invalid character' because single quote A were changed when written to output and cannot be rendered.
    Both input and output xml are using UTF-8 encoding. How can I solve this problem please?
    The xml file looks:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <content>....1980s (Peacock and Williams, 1986; Keay, 1984)</content> My code for reading
    String _xquery ="//content/text()";
    Document _xmlDoc= DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance().newDocumentBuilder().parse("myxml.xml");
    XPath _xpath = XPathFactory.newInstance().newXPath();
    NodeList nodes = (NodeList) _xpath.compile(query).evaluate(_xmlDoc, XPathConstants.NODESET);
    List<String> res = new ArrayList<String>(nodes.getLength());
    for (int i = 0; i < nodes.getLength(); i++) {
        res.add(nodes.item(i).getNodeValue());
    String valueToOuput=res.toString() //this is the value to be output to xml, it shoud look like "[....1980s (Peacock and Williams, 1986; Keay, 1984)]"my code for writing xml
    Element root=new Element("root");;
    Element content= new Element("output-content")
    content.setText(valueToOutput);
    root.addContent(content);
    PrintWriter writer = new PrintWriter(new FileWriter(f));
    new XMLOutputter().output(domDocument, writer);
    writer.close();

    Hi, sorry I have fixed the problem... instead of using PrintWriter, I used Fileoutputstream, and it solved the problem. Thanks!

  • ORA-00911: invalid character using multiple select statements

    I am getting an ORA-00911: invalid character error when trying to execute 2 select statements using ODP.NET.
    cmd.CommandText = "select sysdate from dual;select sysdate from dual;";
    cmd.Connection = conn;
    cmd.CommandType = System.Data.CommandType.Text;
    conn.Open();
    OracleDataReader dr = cmd.ExecuteReader();
    This works in SQL server but for some reason it appears this does not work in Oracle?
    If this is the case what is a vaiable workaround? Wrapping the 2 statements in a transaction?
    Seems strange that you can't return multiple result sets using in-line sql statements.

    Oracle doesn't support passing multiple statements like that, and this is unrelated to ODP.NET.

  • Error while using '*'in the NTE (EDI 850) Segment where '*' is also used as Data Element

    Hi All,
    I am facing below mentioned error while using '*'in the NTE (EDI 850) Segment where '*' is also used as Data Element
    Error: 1 (Field level error)
      SegmentID: NTE
      Position in TS: 70
      Data Element ID: NTE02
      Position in Segment: 2
      Data Value:
      3: Too many data elements
    For Eg: NTE*GEN*My Text *goes here
    Here, NTE02 should be My Text *goes here. So, how can I use "*" here without changing anything in the EDI message?
    Can it be done?
    Thanks.

    Sorry, no.
    X12 does not support an escape character so whatever is used for delimiters become reserved characters.
    If you want to allow '*' in the data, you will have to chooser a different Element delimiter.  The receiver should read the from this from the ISA Segment so it's supposed to be dynamic but that's not always the case in practice.
