c means customer defined
what is oi

The naming convention for BI objects are as below:
For Standard BI objects : /BI0/OI<name of the characteristic>
For Custom BI objects : /BIC/OI<name of the characteristic>

Hi All,
Can any one let me know how does the system determines which date format should it apply while creating/downloading the file.
Issue :
When I create/download the file generated by report RTXWCF02 using unix level acess the Date format of a field in file is DD.MM.YYYY where as in user profile i can see its in MM/DD/YYYY.
I dont understand how system determines the date format and How we can change it. Please suggest.

I would suggest you to use ALV_XXL_CALL if your want to keep your data formats intact.

Single date dimension while creating Aggregate tables

hi Guys ,
I have single date dimension(D1-D) with key as date_id and granularity is day-level. I have fact table(F1-D) which gives daily transactions . Now i created three aggregate tables with F2-M(aggregated to monthly),F3-Q(Aggregated to quarterly),F4-Y(Aggregated to yearly). As I said.I have a single date dimension table with date-id as a key.I have other columns month,quarter,year in Date dimension.
My question is : Is this single dimension table is enough to create the joins and maintain the BMM layer .I have joined the date_id to all the facts in physical layer. In BMM Layer i have one fact and 4 logical table sources .Ii have created dimension hierarchy on Date dimension and created the logical levels as year ,quarter,month and daily level and also set their respective level keys . Now after doing these i have also set the logical levels to the 4 logical table sources in the fact table.
Here i am getting an error saying :

1) as you suggest, creating mini dimension tables for each level
3) using views with select distinct x,y,z to model 1) but without the need for phsical tables
I have thought of these scenarios .But it's just creating a multiple Date Dimension tables with there respective grains if we follow 1 and 3 steps you mentioned.
But i don't want to create aliases or views either on Datawarehouse or physical layer (Admin tool).Just with using a single Date Dimension table I need to comeup with a solution as mentioned by my Colleagues.
2) pushing all the calendar attributes into the aggreate table (eg your year aggregate has all the year fields, your month aggregate has all the year fields and all the month fields etc.). Then in BM&M use the aggregate table as a logical table source for the date logical table.

One morething .Here What they were saying is .Join the Single Date Dimension to all the 4 fact tables in Physical layer . Then drag all the tables into the BMM layer and create a Dimensional hierarchies for the Date dimension with levels as Year -->Quarter--> Month--> day level. With the Fact tables: Single fact tables with multiple logical table sources .Then we need to set the levels on the respective logical table sources with the desired levels .Say monthly aggregate table--> Month, Quarter Aggregate table--> quarter level in the Contents TAB.

Delivery Date error while creating/uploading POs using LSMW

Hi,
I am facing problem in creating POs using LSMW. I am using direct input method with standard object 0085 for PO upload. But I am facing problem because of delivery date in the PO. There are basically two errors that I am getting:
1) When the delivery date format is DDMMYYYY in the fileto be uploaded, the error that i get is "Please enter a valid delivery date"(Message No..ME 077)
2) When the delivery date format is YYYYMMDD in the file to be uploaded, the error that i get isFor the K4 fiscal year variant, no period is defined for . .(Mesage no. F5 275)
Please let me know how to rectify these errors.

You need to rectify the issue by applying attached corrections in SAP Note 1094336 - Error message F5 275 if requirement date is deleted.

Symptom
The "Requirement date" field (EBAN-BADAT) was set to changeable in the the field selection. If the "Requirement date" field is deleted for a purchase requisition item, the system issues error message F5275 "For the xxx fiscal year variant, no period is defined for 00.00.0000".
You can leave the process only with /n.

Date Issue while creating Activity using BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CREATEMULTI

I'm creating an activity using BAPI BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CREATEMULTI and this is working fine. The only thing which is not reflecting in the activity is the date which I'm passing to this BAPI. The system always puts the default date, which is system date.
Below are the parameters I'm passing in DATE and DATEX parameters of BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CREATEMULTI. Let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

Need help at date format while creating External Tables from Flat file

Hi All,
I have a flat file generated from SQL Server 2005. In that generated flat file the date format is in the format as "YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS.Millisec" like example "2007-09-08 13:32:36.568".
My task is I have to load this flat file data into Oracle database table running on 9i, but its failing at the creation of external table itself because of this date format. The target table in Oracle the date column data type is "date" only not the "TIMESTAMP".
Can any body suggest how to resolve this?

Page size problem while creating character mode report

Hi All,
I've designed a report in character based layout design. The report needs to be loaded into NOTEPAD and then EXCEL sheet. I need maximum page width for this report. I kept page size of width 23" in layout design and pulled the fields so that to get maximum room. When I run the report and load it into NOTEPAD, I don't see the page width, meaning that it gives me normal 140 column size which is of course not what want.
Please can someone provide some assistance in this scnario.

The character mode and bitmapped page sizes are different, and independant of each other.
For character mode you need to set the width in the following places:
1) In the appropriate layout section property palette (assuming you're on 6.0 or above).
2) In the .prt file that you're referencing in desformat to produce the output.
If you set the width in both these places to the size you want you should be okay.
Alternatively, you may want to look at the delimited format to generate output for spreadsheets.

Fields you meen in a table? or in programs? in both places you create in reference to SAP Dictionary.

Programs data: l_text type char20.

how should i proceed to know where is the problem???
i tried debugging but it is taking lots of time, is there any other way i can know the reason for this error in standard code.
there is no wrong data entry while creating sales order.

try too create a sales order after that check transaction code ST22 U WILL FIND AN SHORT DUMP then check in the source code extract an pointer will be visible where the error is coming and it will also show the program name , please read the dump analysis care fully

How to change the Text description on screen...(not the Data Element)

I want to change the just text of one of the label on one of the screen. I don't want to change the Data Element, as the same data element is used in multiple places, but I want to change only at one particular screen, at one particular spot
Any suggestion....?

a)If you change the Text in a LABEL manually, then translation of the text can't be done.
Better create a new structure which will be used in all such cases where u can't change the data element.
Create fields in the Structure with your newly created data element and refer the field in the Label.
b)IF the translation is not an issue then manually enter the text.

While creating the networks under WBS it's giving error

i am not able to create the network under WBS element. while creating the Networks it's asking Scheduling type under scheluling tab. I tryed giving with backwards and forwards options, after press the enter it's says"The factory calendar does not exist (contact system administrator)". I am facing this error..

Check if you have maintained a factory calendar in the following;
1. OPSA - For project profile
2. SPRO --> Enterprise structure --> Defintion -> Logistics General -> Define, Copy, Check plant. Check the factory calendar for the plant.
Ensure the calendar is created and defined in your system.
Also, maintain scheduling type in OPU6 T-code for the network.

Plant while creating Sales Order

Hi Gurus,
I am using the Fn module - BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2
to create a Sales Order.
I am passing header information of of the type -BAPISDHD1.
I want to pass the plant also in the Sales Order, but I cannot find any field like that in the structure.
Is there anyother way how I can pass plant?

Have a look from functional side....
Sales order contains material details at item level data only.
And the Plant is the highest unit of the material management.
So you can assgin plant to item level data only while creating the sales order...
SAP System check s the data in this way while creating the sales order...,
Documents data(VGBEL etc) -> Material master data(MATNR etc) -> Customer master data(KUNNR etc) -> Organizational data(VKORG etc).

I have tried SHD0 - transaction variant. This field is not shown.

It is not possible to make the indicator "check bw master date" mandatory as this is generated program.
To meet your requirement using BADI /SAPAPO/SDP_MASTER method SET_COMBI_VALUE_CHECK you can force the
system to check 'BW master data' or if this flag is not set then throw the error message.

The problem doesn't seem to be related to the XI system. Have you done any configuration at receiver Webservice to convert the string data passed through XI into string array data? I think there is a mismatch in what XI sends and receiver expects.
