INVALID END HEADER FORMAT error

I have just installed the Oracle 9i database on windows NT server, but the
Oracle Database Configuration Assistant returns INVALID END HEADER FORMAT error, eachtime i attempt to create a new database.
Oracle 9i software is installed, but no database was created. How can i solve this problem?
or how can i create the database manaully?

Hi,
If you don't have a database error (ORA-), then you're probably hitting some sort of DBCA bug. I'd use the DBCA to generate scripts and then run the scripts manually to see if you can create a database that way.
http://expertanswercenter.techtarget.com/eac/knowledgebaseAnswer/0,295199,sid63_gci1054696,00.html
Are you able to create scripts through DBCA if yes then you can create your database with help of scripts.
go through below link for manually database creation ( it is also some working in Oracle 9i. After scripts creation. Script creation is different then oracle 10g.)
http://dbataj.blogspot.com/search/label/Database%20Creation
if not then you hit bug ( according to above mention link) raise a iTAR.

  • Invalid end header format

    Hi experts,
    I installed oracle 9i on windows Xp. At the end of insatllation, i got error called "Invalid end Header format".
    How can i overcome this?
    Advance thanks,
    With best regards

    Insufficient information.
    What is 9i? Are you referring to 9.0 or 9.2 and then that could be anything from 9.2.0.1 through 9.2.0.8.
    And what is XP? Is this the HOME edition which is unsupported or something else? And which service pack?
    It is impossible to advise you beyond suggesting you provide a lot more information and suggest you consider installing currently supported, not Neolithic, software.

    Dear All
    I have the same problem when installing Oracle9iasR2 on a windows 2000 IBM server
    At the database configuration Assistant of the infrastructutre installation I am always getting this strange message Not a ZIP file (End Header Not found).
    We have tried a lot off scenarios to install Oracle9iasr2 but the installation always fails at the database creation with the followning message
    Not a ZIP file (End Header Not found).
    We had also tried to do the installation using a different copy of CD's with no success.
    Also the same installation on the same server was succesfull with O/S Win2003.
    Then the whole installation fails .
    If anyone has ever faced the same problem and had solved it please advice.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Java.util.zip.ZipException: invalid END header

    I get this error when I run the code:
    try {
    jFile = new JarFile(jarBuildFile.getAbsolutePath());
    } catch (IOException ex) {
    System.out.println("Got exception: "+ex);
    but only on very large jar files - about 2.5GB in size.
    With JDK 1.4, I get the error, jar file too large.
    With JDK 1.5, I get the above error (invalid END header).
    With JDK 1.6, it reads the file for about 5 seconds, then reports that the file cannot be opened.
    Smaller jar files work fine. This jar file has two files in it, a small XML file and a large video file.
    I'm running under windows XP.
    Doing a jar -tvf (jdk 1.5) on the large jar file works fine.
    The file was built with the jar command (jdk 1.5).
    Is this a bug in the JDK?
    Thank you!

    I ran into this problem today too and found out it was due to the fact that I had a jar in my war that I was trying to deploy that had a file format of unicode instead of binary (it had been checked into source control system incorrectly). After updating the jar with the proper format (binary), the problem went away.The other reported problems are due to file size, not content.

  • Jarsigner: invalid END header (bad central directory offset)

    I signed a jar (which is a standalone application) with:
    C:\>jarsigner -keystore myKeystore myJar.jar
    I verified it with
    C:\>jarsigner -verbose -verify myJar.jar
    It was OK.
    I updloaded it to my web site via ftp.
    When I try to to downlod it via Java Web Start, I get a java.util.zip.ZipException.
    If I try to verify it again with jarsigner, I get:
    jarsigner: java.util.zip.ZipException: invalid END header (bad central directory offset).
    Can anyone tell me where the jar file may have been corrupted ?
    Thanks a lot

    You were right, John.
    Thanks a lot.
    I hope to help you one day.
    Norberto:
    Did you remember to ftp myJar.jar in binary mode? As
    I recall, ftp assumes things are ASCII files and does
    funny things to the file if it is actually a binary.
    A good way to check this, I would think would
    calculate the MD5 hash of your signed Jar file just
    after you have signed it and then again on the other
    end after you've FTPed it with "md5sum myJar.jar" (or
    whatever the windows equivalent is, if applicable).
    At least that would be where I'd start to look for
    something that "messed up" your jar file.
    Good luck,
    John

  • Invalid docx file format error when publishing

    Good morning all,
    I've been using UPK 3.5.1 Developer for years with Office 2003 (yes, I know we should upgrade, but that's out of my control), and have successfully published many times. After my latest publishing, the following error showed in the Activity Log:
    Task: Job Aid / Postprocessing document
    Comment: Invalid docx file format odpub://int/PlayerPackage/Temp/03d444ee-681b-406b-aba2-cd4b669702e2_JOBAID.docx
    All of the other job aids have published to a .doc format, so I'm not sure why this one is behaving differently. I located the offending topic, and in UPK, the preview provides a similar error when I try to preview the job aid. Strangely enough though, in the published project, the job aid for that topic prints just fine. I know I can just ignore the error since the finished product works, but I'm just wondering if anyone has some insight as to why this error occurred.
    Thanks!

    I am having the same issue. It is during export - almost immediately after exporting begins. No file is created.

  • Invalid MAC Address Format Error

    I have a WRT54GR with a 54USB Wireless Adaptor...and I am trying to put my PC MAC Address in the Allow Table so that this is the only MAC Address that can access my network...it is recognising my 54USB Adaptor MAC Address in the Table, so I select this, and add it to the table to allow access, and it comes up with Invalid MAC Address Format....
    Anybody know why this is happening...I have tried adding it automatically and typing it in manually still the same.  I use ':' between the numbers/characters not '-'.
    Any help greatly appreciated....
    Thanks

    Try it in the form  xxxxxxxxxxxx  and see if that works, or maybe just xx xx xx xx xx xx

  • Invalid Keystore Format error

    we need to configure an SSO from SAP portal and a third party website by passing encrypted userid as url parameters.
    To configure the SSO I have received the public key of the third party and able to access it from server location. Now I have to access priavte key of the SAP Portal certificate and sign the UserId and pass it as url parameter. I have gone through many blogs and written code as below which is giving Invalid Keystore Format error.
    My question is
    1. What should be passed to FileInputStream?
    As of now we are passing the .cer file which is stored as part of project.
    Below code is throwing error at ks.load() method.
    String fielPath1 = request.getPublicResourcePath()+"/SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert1.cer";
    FileInputStream ksfis = new FileInputStream(fielPath1);
    KeyStore ks = KeyStore.getInstance("JKS");
    ks.load(null, sPass.toCharArray());
    BufferedInputStream ksbufin = new BufferedInputStream(ksfis);
    ks.load(ksbufin, sPass.toCharArray());
    PrivateKey priv = (PrivateKey) ks.getKey(alias, kPass.toCharArray());
    Error is:
    Invalid keystore formatsun.security.provider.JavaKeyStore.engineLoad(JavaKeyStore.java:633)sun.security.provider.JavaKeyStore$JKS.engineLoad(JavaKeyStore.java:38)java.security.KeyStore.load(KeyStore.java:1185)am_sso_apc.doContent(am_sso_apc.java:132)com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.AbstractPortalComponent.serviceDeprecated(AbstractPortalComponent.java:213)
    Please let me know how to pass the filepath to extract the priavte key .
    Regards,

    I found the solution. As follows:
    keytool -list -keytool keytoolfile -storetype jceks

    I am simply attempting to create an instance of an object and I get Class format error: Invalid constant pool tag found. Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it?
    Thanks.

    If you're compiling with J2SDK 1.4 or higher, you need to use "-target 1.1" on the javac command line.
    Also make sure you're not using any float constants such as 1.0 in your code.

    Thanks

    We have also experienced similar issue with 11.2.0.2 on HPUX:
    srvctl add nodeapps -n host2 -A "host2-vip/255.255.252.0/lan0|lan3"
    PRKC-1023 : Invalid IP address format: host2-vip
    Replacing host2-vip with IP address works fine.
    More surprisingly, on one node, it accepts same command with vip format, whereas on others it is expecting IP address in command. ( although vip names are resolvable to its IP address from all nodes--checked using nslookup)

    Hi Debasis & Vamsi,
    Thank you for the help and suggestions.
    I just had a look at the thread after solving the problem.
    Actually I had the solution in the PDF that I was suggested to read when I updated SPAM from 700/0023 to 700/0030.
    Debasis I came across the same thing which is as follows
    "SAPCAR error: format error in header" when extracting
    an SAR archive
    Symptom: When you unpack an SAR archive, the SAPCAR utility
    terminates with the error message "SAPCAR error: format error in
    header".
    Reason: The SAR archive was packed using SAPCAR Version 700. Since
    changes were made to the SAR archive format in this version, older
    SAPCAR versions can no longer unpack the archive (also refer to SAP
    Note 892842).
    Solution: Use SAPCAR Version 700 or SAPCAR Version 640 patch level
    4. These versions can process the new archive format (refer to SAP
    Note 892842).
    Thankyou
    Druva

  • File has an Invalid format (Error no 11)

    I get a file has an Invalid format (Error no 11) message when opening a text file in Diadem 11, is there any specifics you can add to the error # 11 message, to help me resolve the error.

    Hi Atlas56,
    How were you loading the ASCII file into DIAdem?  Using a posted DataPlugin from the web?  Using a DataPlugin from a colleague?  Using the ASCII DataPlugin Wizard in DIAdem?  Using the ASCII Import Wizard in DIAdem?  Copying and pasting values into a VIEW table?
    I'm not familiar with that error message,

  • Error message: Error loading Project _ Invalid project file format

    This monring I open dvdsp project and it happen frozen. It became not responding. So I had to force quit. Now I can't open project file. The error message said "Error loading Project _ Invalid project file format". What should I do?

    This isn't quite the same issue, but close enough that it must be related:
    I was working on a project this morning, added a ton of subtitles and tweaked a jpeg menu (in photoshop). Saved it, closed it down without any issues, and now it won't open. The "Loading Project" box gets 1/4 of the way along and freezes on "Loading Tracks". In Activity Monitor the DSPX_Encoder services are not frozen, although not actually using any CPU power.
    Needless to say I don't have a backup...... and I thought that I had achieved a lot this morning.
    Solutions attempted so far:
    Disconnected the external hard drive with all the assets in the hope that I could isolate a dodgy file. Masde no difference, so the problem must be within the project file itself.
    Anything else to be done??

    Hi Alosh,
    Thanks for the reply.
    We are in process of upgrading Oracle Apps R11i into R12. This statement works fine in 11i but not working in R12. I think issue is not with -IN, -XSL and -OUT parameters.
