Invalid Jar file - on ANY download from OVI store ...

OK, so I'm trying to download a few freebie games (Yetisports/Penguin thingy 2 etc etc)
Whichever download I choose on my phone, and I get to the installer, it tells me that the Jar file is invalid. **bleep**!? How do I sort this before I pull my hair out?
Phone in question is the E72-1
This is a joke from Nokia, forcing you to download their OVI files through your phone.

ok, i am using a nokia e5 and this are the problems i am encountering:
1. I cant install jad files anymore, it just says disconnected n i hav used different sims.
2. My phones freezes and restarts.
3. Most application i open just exits on its own.
4. Invalid jar. Files.
5. I dont know the best antivirus to use for my phone. I dont think netqin is gud cos despite i installed it, i still had virus.
So pls help me out in accordance to the above listed issues i m havin.

JNLP and jar files are being download from server again.

I have a swing application deployed with Java Web Start on a server.
On my client I install the application using JWS JRE 1.6.
The issue is that without any change in the jars or JNLP the jars are being downloaded from the server again and again
This is not consistant - it happens only sometimes.
One important thing to mention: The server is inside a load-balancer cluster (AKAMAI), so the IP address of the actual server may change between different accesses.
in the log, I can see the error:
"Cache entry not found"
and then the jar is being downloaded again.
sometimes only one or two jars were downloaded again, sometimes the whole package with the JNLP file were dowloaded again.
Can you suggest what can be the reason for this behavior?

That does seem slow, but there are many factors that could be involved. More information would be helpful:
- Are the source and destination filesystems ZFS or UFS? (or some other FS)
- What does iostat show you?
- What does vmstat show you?
- What type of HBAs connect you to the SAN? ('fcinfo hba-port')
- Anything in /var/adm/messages?

How to download from OVi Store ???

I live in Syria and I want to download apps form OVi Store but I can't because this service isn't available in my area.
I tried everything from proxy servers to Ultrasurf, but all my attempts failed. I have Nokia Asha 300 and it's so disappointing that I can't get this service.
What shall I do ???

Just choose the app that you would like to download, then choose 'download'. If it won't, checkyour network operator.

Nokia N8: Unable to download from Ovi Store

After making the error of trying to install Kaspersky to my N8 and so having to re-format everything to get the phone working again (using #*7370# but not the three fingered salute) almost everything is working ok except Ovi Store. I can get onto the store fine but as soon as I try to download anything it says Download Error in red. If I try to send a text to my phone with the download link, the message never arrives. Ovi verified the number fine (sent the verification text no probs) and even managed to sync somehow. But when I tried to set up the sync by getting the text with the settings, nothing happens.
Can anyone help

PS- I've updated the software for the phone and for Ovi Store so it's completely up to date.

UPDATE
Well I took the general advice and went to my nearest Nokia care centre today. They informed me that there was nothing further they could do as they flashed the firmware twice and still could not reinstall Ovi Store. They recommended that I send the phone to Nokia and that I would be without it for 3 weeks + .
This is quite disgraceful , at least with my iphone it would be repaired on the spot or replaced. I am very annoyed with the total lack of customer care particularly after spending a small fortune on this phone.
Does anyone know if Nokia are going to provide a new update for people in my position ?
Can anyone else who has suffered this difficulty let me know?

Unable to download from ovi store

i have 5230 and i was able to download even after updating the ovi store but a week ago i have a problem. download button turned grey and i cant download anything.

Can you provide the following details so we can have a better grasp on your concern:
1. How are you accessing Nokia Store? Through phone browser, mobile application or through PC?
2. Internet connection you are using
3. Are you trying to download new games or previously downloaded games under My Stuff?
If you are accessing the Nokia Store through the mobile application, try to update it by going to www.store.nokia.com. You will then be prompted if there is an updated version is available for you to download. Another option would be to use Nokia Suite.

i'm a N97 mini owner i use with a prepaid card. as a cyclist i got this because of it's possibility to use the maps offline. Now i have to doenload the HP iPrint Photo app but i don't have any connection to the internet at all on this phone. All i have is a dsl line and the OVI Suite installed.

Repeating problems (1) Many Missing Files; and (2) Downloading From iTunes

I am having multiple issues with the iTunes store currently. I have spoken with an Apple Expert on August 14, 2010 (case number available if needed). Although he was very good at helping me to the best of his ability, he referred me to iTunes Store Customer Service, which I previously was in contact with.
I have 2 types of repeating problems (1) Many Missing Files; and (2) Downloading From iTunes Store.
_Problem One - (1) Downloading From iTunes Store_
I have 1610 missing files from my iTunes folders. I created a list of missing items by following these steps:
+If for any reason you find yourself with random missing tracks, (or are trying to recover from a dying hard drive like me), there is an easy way to isolate those missing tracks.+
+1. Create a standard playlist called "Not Missing".+
+2. Drag your entire library into that playlist. Missing tracks cannot+
+be copied to a playlist.+
+3. Create a smart playlist called where you select the following conditions in the options window for the new smart playlist:+
+*dropdown menu* PLAYLIST+
+*dropdown menu* IS NOT+
+*dropdown menu* NOT MISSING.+
+4. Rename the smart playlist "Missing"+
+5. Right Click the "Missing" playlist+
+6. Click the "Export..." option+

My missing playlistable items represent a better part of a decades worth of audiobook files, transfered files from my PC days, etc... i loved my - now missing - Doctor Who and Torchwood purchases from iTunes.
I have already read the Trouble Shooting, checked Time Machine Backup, and been walked through replacing the preferences list. The missing file path from the "get info" options in iTunes points towards a non-existant file.
_Problem Two (2) Downloading From iTunes Store_
I have had problems downloading files from iTunes for months. I first noticed it with the TV Show "Avatar: The Last Airbender". Lately, when I download from the (non-music) part of the store, the majority of files are downloaded and then immediately not found. This has been prompting iTunes to repeat the download. Until I force quit itunes and *potentially cry*.
There have been multiple iTunes store purchases of audio books recently. If I reported the missing file immediately, I can contact iTunes support to repost the file and that usually fixes the issue. But today, I went to go rewatch "Torchwood: Children of Earth" and noticed Problem One.
_Hind Sight_
If provided with a spreadsheet of my iTunes Store purchase history, I can write a vlookup( formula in excel to compare the list against my exported missing list so a shortlist of what is missing from just my iTunes Store purchase history can be created (hint: it's the majority of items from the list, others are years worth of files from my PC days). If we could do that, could iTunes make my missing purchases available?
Then we can focus on purely, trying to figure out why they went missing in the first place - so we can prevent it again & possibly help others from running into the same.

I strongly suspect the two issues are related to a root cause ... in addition to my user error in file management of backups ... what is going on?

Can't download apps from ovi store

Hi, i have a nokia 5530 xm
i had some corrupted music files in my music library so i made a back up-file on the computer and erased everything on the memorycard
Then i loaded all the stuff back on the memorycard. But then almost all my apps were gone, so i tried to download them again. But i can't click the 'download' button (it's dark gray, like if you've already clicked it) so i think the ovi store remembers that i have downloaded the apps before and it's like i have got them on my phone but i have checked all the installed apps and all the installation files in the application manager but they aren't there.
Anyone knows what to do about this?

I can't download anything from Ovi store anymore , both "download via PC" and "Download on mobile" options are disabled (grayed)
This applies to all applications including those which I have never downloaded before !!!

How to download programs from OVI-Store?

Hello,
I need some assistance for downloading programs from OVI-Store.
Is there a way to download over the PC, N8 is connected to the PC?
I'm unable to find any download button or something similiar? Besides this, I can only send 5 programs a day (Germany) to the N8.
I'm totally new to smartphones stuff!

Hi Yogesh - when you say "i don't think the file is corrupt, because it works fine in eclipse", do you mean, you are actually able to publish them to a server and test those out?
Dont know your exact scenario, but when you say that you took the sbconfig from another machine and used it on your local system, cant we just go ahead with that? I mean, clean up your code base, and then import this latest "working" sbconfig and start afresh?
