Apex Applications and RESTful services are running fine.
Problem
Unable to connect SQL Developer 4.0.2 to Oracle REST Data Services 2.0.7
Error message in SQL Developer - Cannot connect to DEV. HTTP/1.1 403 Target service not allowed
Additional Information
Steps followed -
1. The oracle users APEX_LISTENER and APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER did not exist, so I ran apex_rest_config.sql from the APEX 2.4.1 patchset whilst connected sys as sysdba and provided the same password as APEX_PUBLIC_USER for both users.
2. I also ran
grant insert, delete on APEX_040200.wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups to APEX_LISTENER;

Further to the above post, I thought I'd simplify my Apex Listener install just to see if I can connect to it via SQL Developer
So downloaded the latest version 2.0.8 and decided to configure and run the Listener on my pc whilst still connecting to the same database.
Operating system : Window 7 Pro 64 bit
Oracle Apex Listener 2.0.8
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_25-b17)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)
Went through the configuration as above, once started I tried again to access the listener via SQL Developer. This time I received this output from the listener:

How do you expose PL/SQL Webpages via REST Data Services?

I am in a bit of a pickle. I have a 3rd party vendor which wants to send data back us. They do it via a standard http form post to a webservice (actually with normal html form inputs) that we have to implement. I have this done in the form of a PL/SQL package. Now the hard part.....before we decommissioned our Oracle HTTP server and went to using REST Data Services, we could just reference the schema and procedure name via the DAD. We no longer have a web tier environment at our disposal, just Weblogic Servers and REST Data Services plus the database running APEX. Is there any way that I can build/publish an end point that can receive normal post transactions (they do not and will not communicate with us using SOAP, REST, or XML). What I am basically needing is to get my PL/SQL out there where it can work as an old fashion form processor taking the POST/GET parameters and then processing them. Is there any way to do this with REST Data Services or APEX?

Making the URL of an HTTP data service call the same domain it is served from

Hi All,
I've got an HTTP service I defined in Flash Builder, via the "Data Services" tab. I've got an absolute URL in there right now. Here's what it looks like:
What I really want is to not define a path that includes a domain name at all--I want the service to simply call an absolute path that's on the same domain as whatever domain the SWF was served from... can I do that? When I got rid of the base URL and then gave an absolute URL path (e.g., /roster/deleteMember), Flex Builder complained that "File does not exist." Well, of course it doesn't exist, it isn't a file, it's a URL to a service call--there is no corresponding file on the filesystem.
Can anyone advise me how to do that? Changing the domain name has at least once caused me a great deal of trouble, and the only workaround I was able to figure out was to create a whole new project and copy/paste all the code from my previous project into that new project, and recreate the data service definitions. Big headache!

The configuration files sometimes contain special {server.name} and {server.port} tokens. These tokens are replaced with server name and port values based on the URL from which the SWF file is served when it is accessed through a web browser from a web server. Similarly, a special {context.root} token is replaced with the actual context root of a web application.
Whenever is a RemoteService, HttpService or WebService... if you specify the endpoint as http://{server.name}:{server.port}/{context.root}
automatically on runtime, the variables are set by the flashplayer depending on where you've been downloaded the application. So, if the webservices are deployed on the same server where the flex application is downloaded, this is the solution.
But in your case, maybe you cannot do that through the plugin you are using for declaring your services, but have to programmatically solve it.

How to install downloaded Oracle Forms Developer/Services 6i Release 2 for linux

I downloaded d2k6irelease2.tar (Oracle Forms Developer/Services 6i Release
2 for linux) from
http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/forms/htdocs/linuxsoft.html
I untar the file on my linux machine however the extracted files don't
seem to contain any installing program. I didn't find products.jar in the
files and there are no script to install the software. I read the attached
doc, however it only assumes that the installation is from CD-ROM. The doc
doesn't help anything for this downloaded software. I wonder if anyone
here know how to install it. Thank you so much.

There should be a text based installer in the /orainst sub-
directory
In that directory, just run the script:
./orainst
The installer seems to require libXm.a, which wasn't included in
my RH 7.1 installation, so I had to install the motif-
development libraries before the full install would complete

How to extract data from ecc6.0 Business content extractors to oracle using sap bo data services 4.0

Are you trying to use the SAP BW Business Content to extract data out of ECC and load into Oracle tables with Data Services? If that's the case, then you cannot do that. The SAP BW Business Content was developed to only be used in conjunction with SAP BW. When using Data Services to access the extractors in ECC, it has to have an SAP BW InfoPackage associated with it to execute. In this architecture, Data Services is only a pass through from ECC to BW and allows the ability to do some transformations of data prior to loading into the EDW layer (staging tables basically) on SAP BW.
To connect ECC to Oracle, you're going to have to have all of the SAP BusinessObjects supplied Function Modules loaded onto ECC, along with a non-dialog logon account that has the ability to pass dynamic ABAP programs, generate the programs and schedule them. Depending on how you want to process the output, you may also have to have the ability to write to files on the ECC application servers and have an FTP account created on the application servers that can GET flat files and potentially DELETE them (you're going to need to delete periodically, otherwise your jobs will crash when the file space allocation has been consumed).

"invalid URL" download prob on powerbook but not imac...

I have been down loading some movies on my imac with no problem. They are WMVs but I have the latest flip for mac (2.2) installed, running in the latest version of Leopard. In Safari, I open the download link in a new tab and the movie opens within the safari window as a video pane - I can watch it as its downloading or wait until its done and save it to my HD. When I go to do this exact same thing on my powerbook (also running the latest FFM, Safari and Leopard) I open the download in the new tab, QT opens (instead of the video in safari window) and a new QT window opens the a message "Invalid URL" pops up so I click OK and the QT window closes. As far as I can tell all the QT and FFM settings are exactly the same.
My imac is at home on my personal network and I just tried with the powerbook on the cloud public wifi network (not at home now). I didn't think this should make a difference as all other apps are using the network fine.
Any help would be great.

the setting which causes the new QT window to open is found in System Preferences-Flip4Mac-Browser tab - Launch Quicktime Player.
I don't know why you'd get the invalid url message, but see if changing the setting to open within the browser sorts it out.

I learnt that IIS is mandatory for working of presentation services.I'm not sure that is true, after all OBIEE can be deployed on linux which doesn't have IIS. You can run OBIEE 10g on windows with just OC4J.

Apache 2.0 data service.

Sun provides Apache data service with Sun Cluster 3.1 Agent CD.
Nowere in the documentation for the Apache agent (data service) I have found which versions of Apache this agens supports (other then apache package provided with it). Any ideas if this producht will work "out of the box" with Apache 2.0 +mod_ssl?
Have somody tried that ? Does it requires much "tweeking" ?

I am experiencing the same issue.
I implemented the 'chunked file loading' example from Kris Rice's blog at Kris' blog: August 2013 in y workspace at the Oracle hosted APEX site and everything works fine.
However, I get a null value for 'data' when I implement the same example at my work site.
Work Site config is
Apache Tomcat 7
Oracle REST Data Services version : 2.0.6.27.18.06
Application Express 4.2.2.00.11
Oracle RDBMS 11.2.0.3
I am NOT using SSL at my work site. However this does not seem to affect a POST with form values.

Let me try to answer some of your questions:
1) The "Requires Secure Access" attribute of a resource handler controls whether this handler must be accessed/consumed only over SSL (HTTPS). Oracle Database Cloud Schema Service is only offered over SSL, so this attribute does not have any effect on RESTful services deployed in this environment (because secure access is always required and there is no other way). That said, if you want to access such web service from your own APEX instance, your instance must have Oracle Wallet configured with appropriate SSL certificate.
2) The URI parameters are not required. If your web service returns data for many entities (for example, list of employees in employees/), you may not need a parameter. If your web service returns data for one specific entity (for example, details of one employee in employees/{id}), you may want to identify that entity with a URI parameter.
3) You can have many URI parameters, for example: customers/{id}/orders/{order_id}.
4) Yes, these are the same HTTP methods/verbs you would use from PHP.
5) If you are trying this POST example from your own APEX instance (not Oracle Database Cloud Schema Service) and you are trying to access a web service over SSL, then it is likely that the Oracle Wallet used by your instance does not include the required SSL certificate(s), or the Oracle Wallet is not configured at all.
6) I recommend to check RESTful Web Services for the Oracle Database Cloud white paper and Oracle REST Data Services Developers Guide. Oracle REST Data Services is the technology that enables RESTful services in the Oracle Database Cloud Schema Service.
You can certainly create your own web services in the Oracle Database Cloud Schema Service and consume them from the same environment.

Ftping the PG.xml to mds folder will not help the page to goto MDS directory
You have to import the file using xmlimporter
I understand you have done the import, but it is not success.
Could you please post what is the script you used to import the PG.xml
and once you run what was the output you have got.

How to do integration between Oracle 11g and SAP Data services

HI All,
i want to load data from Oracle 11g data base to some other data bases. we have installed oracle 11g server in one machine and Data services server in one machine.we installed oracle 11g client in data services server machine . i created data store for oracle and when i was executing job i got the following error.
how to resolve this issue. do i need to do any configuration between two servers (Oracle 11g and data services), and do i need create ODBC for oracle in data services machine.
if any one know the solution please help me out ASAP.

we installed oracle client "win64_11gR2_client" version on DS Server.
but i need the steps after installing oracle client tool. meaning integration between those two servers(Oracle and DS Server).and what are the variable create on DS Server and paths for variable and how to create ODBC for Oracle on DS Server.
