Inventory issue to be at assembly pull?

Hello,
our customer manufactures serialized computers. they are using Mobile Applications (mwa) as they need to serialize first the assembly, and then to associate component serial numbers.
they need to have Operation pull backflush, as they scan every serial number of the component they introduce into the computer. but they want the inventory issue to happen only when assembly is completed. they need a mix between operation pull and Assembly pull. they cannot use Assembly pull although they want to have the component inventory issue at the completion of the assembly, because they are not able to scan the components serial numbers at the end of production (when the computer is ready, and the components are assembled, they do not have access to the serial number of them).
Any idea how we could manage this situation?
thank you

I don't think that is possible out of the box.
Your best bet is to capture the serial numbers in a custom table. That can be done by the assembler scanning the work order number, operation number, item# and serial#.
And then use that data at wip completion (will require custom code).
Hope this helps,

  • Discreet Job closed with Assembly Pull component not issued

I am pulling my hair with this problem recently.
I have a lot of jobs that were able to complete and be closed while there are assembly pull components not being issued/partly issued.
I don't know how did the job complete with assembly pull components outstanding in the first place. Could anyone help me with the reason?
Jobs are all closed by accountant now so I assume it cannot be reversed, but I would like to know how so I can prevent it from happening in the future.
My suspicion is maybe someone changed component type to something like "bulk", complete the job and change it back. But I don't have prove. the Help-Record history shows the system admin was the last updator.

    Hi,
I think these Wip jobs are may be completed due to " Negative Balance allowed " in inventory setup is checked. So even if you dont have on hand quantity , oracle will complete the job.
Also Oracle will never allow to change the supply type in WIP Job. To change the supply type you have to change it at Routing or BOM Level.
    Thanks,

  • Inventory - Overhead added at each assembly stage

    hi Guru,
: Inventory - Overhead added at each assembly stage
I have had a look into the BOM for the product code #####-######. At each assembly stage of the product overhead is added on. This is grossing up each time, meaning that the BOM and cost in stock is too high.
Would it be possible to amend this?
A sub assembly of materials and labor+ overheads, rolling to a material cost in a higher sub assembly or a manufactured part, and the overhead / labor being surcharged on the whole.
This is causing a snowballing effect. It seems that the part number he refers to has no stock so I think the effect should be nothing as of now, but we need to fix this

the problem is you have overhead under the each material ,labor and setup of the BOM
In product costing when you do the routing for the BOM please remove the overhead and at aty the time of finished good.
so that as meny time the BOM passes through each work centres the overhead cost should not keep piling on the material
    which further increases the cost
I hope this would resolve the issue

  • Terrible Customer Service / Inventory Issues

I visited the Mentor, Ohio store this evening and am completely dissassified with the level of customer service provided by the sales staff and the store manager.  I arrived at the store at 8:30 PM looking to purchase a Nest Protect smoke detector - $99.00 item.  I asked several folks where they are located and they pointed me to different locations.  I found the aisle where the Nest devices are but was unable to locate the item I was looking for.  One of the sales associates looked in the system and said it shows 0, but maybe they are somewhere else. (If it says 0 how would they be somewhere else??)  I showed him their online page via my phone that says pickup is available TODAY at their location.  He said it must be wrong and again, maybe there is one somewhere else in the store.  Huh?  So - I went to customer service and found someone that was apparently a supervisor.  I explained my interaction with the sales assosciate and explained what I was looking for.  He did say sometimes the online page isn't in sync or inventory counts are off - BUT - they just did inventory on Sunday so they should be close.  He found the item I was looking for in the system and it shows they do have 4 (the other guy said 0).  He said he'd go track one down and he'd be right back.  10 minutes or so later the same clueless sales associate comes over and says his manager said he looked everywhere and can't find them.  Then he says maybe I want to look back by the hard drives near computers and a couple other random spots.  Ok - you want the CUSTOMER to go look around your store to find your misplaced inventory that was apparently there when you took inventory?  I said I'd wait for the manager to return.  Another 5 minutes goes by and some other random associate says yeah the manager can't find them.  She also explains that they always have inventory issues.
Where was the manager during all of this? Why couldn't HE come explain how he just misplaces inventory?
How about offering to take my name and call if someone finds it?
How about offering me something for standing around there for a half hour why they look around the store? Oh yeah - I guess I was supposed to be the one looking for it
No appology... no nothing.. Just yep, our inventory sucks.  Really?!?  Is THAT how you want to do business? Is that C.U.S.T.O.M.E.R  Service?
On my way home - I decided I'd call customer service.  I said I'd like to make a complaint about one of the stores.  They said one moment they'd transfer me.  I was transfered and picked up - he goes oh hmm let me see what department that would be.  He fumbles around for close to 5 minutes.. keeps saying ok just a second let me see here... then he goes ahh ok I found it and transfers me... I get music for about 10 seconds and....yep... the best thing ever... call drops.  How's THAT for customer service?
BestBuy - you seriously need some lessons in how to treat customers.  Get it together.  I'll be shopping elsewhere in the meantime.  What. A. Joke.

    Hello EricMCSE76,
Finding a great smoke and carbon monoxide detector is essential to adding safety and comfort to your home. Nest Protect is a wonderful choice! It is disconcerting to hear about your experience at our Mentor, OH store when you attempted to make your purchase.
Via BestBuy.com, I see that both the wired and battery versions we carry both show as available for same day pick up. When checking our inventory systems for the Mentor, OH store, it appears that we should have both available at the store. This is discouraging to find, as it seems both our associates and a manager were unable to locate the products in our store.
While this might not be your typical movie or computer that you would be able to easily locate the area of the store that it should be located in, our associates should be knowledgeable and helpful in locating such an item. I am truly sorry if this was not the experience you had when you visited our store in search of a Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide alarm.
I am truly grateful for the time you have taken to share this experience with us on the forum! I hope that this experience hasn’t influenced your future shopping destination. If you should have any questions or need further assistance, please let me know.

  • Excess inventory issue in Deployment

    Hello Everyone,
We are currently implementing Deployment optimizer for our client and we are now stuck up with a Excess inventory issue.
The issue is Deployment Optimizer is deploying the Deployment Purch Reqs in proportional to the demand when we have ATD stock less than the Demand at the DC's, but when we have excess inventory as ATD stock its not following the Demand proportions of the DC's.
Has anyone ever faced this issue in the past, If so then please let me know how did you resolve the issue.
We are currently using SCM 5.0 version and ECC 6.0.
    Best Regards,
    Chandrakanth Tatavarthi

    Hi Chandrakanth,
For surplus ATD stocks than the demands situation, we have 3 possible rules to be set in the SNP deployment profile, which system considers in deployment optimizer run. We define costs and constraints inside the SNP deployment optimization profile and the SNP cost profile.
    1.   Distribution Based on Lowest Costs
    2. Push Distribution by Demand
    3.  Earliest Delivery
Please check if these setting are maintained appropriately.
The objective of the deployment optimizer is to determine distribution plan with overall  lowest costs.  In your situation, we can conclude that, system keeps excess inventories instead of deploying the same, because it finds  overall costs lower, in keeping rather than deploying.
The deployment optimizer considers the following costs defined in the supply chain model:
    u2022        Storage and transportation costs
u2022        Costs for increasing storage, transportation and handling capacity
    u2022        Safety stock penalty
    u2022        Late delivery penalty
    u2022        Non-delivery penalty
Please review these costs. For example if you increase the storage costs, then, system will
Deploy more ( as keeping stocks will cost more).
I do not know  your SCM 5.0 system current Service pack
If it lower than SP 15, then please check if the note 1266418( Deployment Optimizer : Incorrect fair share results) is applicable.
In summary , you will have to check the SNP deployment optimization profile and the SNP cost profile settings. With the given costs, try to interpret the deployment results.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Can we have Cost of Manufactuirng sent to Projects while Inventory issue of these items to be through Sales Order Shipping. Can we do that?

I want to send the cost of manufactured items to a Project/Task .
Still I want to issue these items from inventory using a Sales Order (Sales Shipping).
Billing shall be from the Project.
Can we do the above cycle?
In another scenario, what if I want to bill from the Sales Order?Dina Rotem@

    Hi,
You will have to enable project manufacturing if you want to collect manufacturing cost on a project. Once you create a project, add this project to a project manufacturing organization through a PJM responsibility. Once you associate project and PJM org you will be able to put the PJM organization in the sales order line created on a Project sales order in Oracle OM. Also, mention the project number in that sales order.
Once this sales order is shipped, run the cost collection program and it will bring in the manufacturing costs to project.
    Hope it helps

  • [Forum FAQ] Three helpful ways for analyzing Inventory issues in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager

To troubleshoot issues related to Inventory, we can view the related logs or force a full inventory to analyze the reason. In these article, we mainly introduce
the detailed ways to enable Verbose and Debug logging,
save the inventory report and force a full inventory on the client.
How to force a full inventory on the client
    1. Open wbemtest and connect to “root\ccm\invagt”.
    Figure 1.
    2. Click “Enum Classes…”and then click “OK”.
    Figure 2.
In the Query Result, you can view the cache for each entry. (Figure 3)
    {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001}
     Hardware Inventory
    {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000002}
     Software Inventory
    {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000003}
     Heartbeat
    {00000000-0000-0000-0000-0000000000010} File Collection
    Figure 3.
    3. You can highlight the entry that contains the action you want to force a full to be sent and click “Delete” to delete it:
    Figure 4.
    4. Close all wbemtest dialog boxes and initiate the appropriate action in the Client Agent Action to perform a full inventory.
    Figure 5.
    How to enable
    Verbose and Debug logging
It is also helpful to trace the flow if you enable Verbose and Debug logging on the client,
    Management Point and Site Server.
To set verbose/debug logging on an SCCM client or
Management Point, you can simply edit (or create) the following registry keys:
    HKLM/Software/Wow6432Node/Microsoft/CCM/Logging/@Global/LogLevel to 0
    HKLM/Software/Wow6432Node/Microsoft/CCM/Logging/DebugLogging/Enabled to True
    Figure 6.
    Figure 7.
On the site server, you edit the following registry key to enable verbose logging and then restart the SMS_Executive (or the state system
    component):
    HKLM/Software/Wow6432Node/Microsoft/SMS/Components/SMS_STATE_SYSTEM/Verbose Logging – Reg_DWORD set to 1
    Figure 8.
How to save the inventory report
To force the ConfigMgr client to save off a copy of the report that it sends to the Management Point, you can create an empty folder/directory under the inventory temp directory
    called archive_reports.sms.
Then edit the following registry value to point to the inventory temp directory:
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\Mobile Client\Inventory\ Temp Directory
    Figure 9.
    Figure 10.
From the figure 9, you can see that the temp directory path is C:\Windows\CCM\Inventory\Temp. After we run the hardware inventory Cycle again, you can see the report file is
saved in the path we have defined automatically. (Figure 10)
    (Note: Please delete the
archive_reports.sms folder when have finished the troubleshooting steps to save disk space.)

    Hi,
I have troubleshooted this error message several times and can say that this is a generic error message. The reason can be different in your Case. As suggested in the error message you should first check all the steps in the following kb article.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2742275/tr
In most of my cases the performance counter corruption was the reason of this error message there fore I would suggest you to first check the System and application event logs for performance counter corruption. Right click on the System event > Find
    and search for corrupt.
Additionally it is also mentioned in one of the MS kb articles that deploying winrm policies on Hyper-V Host is forbidden in a SCVMM environment.
If this is the reason in your Case you should disable it. No other chance.

  • Issues distributing large content to pull DPs

I am having issues trying to distribute big files to PULL DPs.  All other packages are going through fine.  But when I try to ditribute wim files over 4Gb, they never start downloading.  The pull site shows a bits.tmp stub file the size of
the actual file.  The dataTransferService.log shows ErrorCode 0x80004005.
I initially thought it might be because my pull dp is running on a win2k3 server (using iis 6), but I tried distributing to a test windows 7 pull dp setup and got the same result.  WAIK tools for win7 has been installed on the pullDP and its proper
DLLs are in the system32 folder.
I have been able to distribute wim file of roughly 3.7Gb and lower but nothing over that to pull DPs.  If I make these regular DPs instead of pull DPs, everyone works fine.  This and the fact that all other packages are working fine tells me permissions
and boundaries are not the issue.  WebDav authoring rule is set to allow read to all content to all users as well.
My site server is running SCCM 2012 R2 with CU1 running on win2008 R2 (so iis 7.5) and I updated the client on my pull DP as well.
Bitsadmin does not give me much more to work on.  State: Transient_error with no progress on byte count.  error code : 0x80004005 Unspecified error and error context: 0x00000005 the error occurred while the remote file was being processed.
I have also modified the applicationHost.config file to allow all types of file extentions in the requestFiltering section, on the remote chance this was blocking somehow.  This type of issue seems to creep up sometime during the transfer, not before.
One other test I made was to distribute iso files as packages instead of wim files under operating system images.  I had the same results with large iso files as I did with wim files.
Things seem to point at some weird type of 4Gb package limit for a pull DP.  Either an issue with settings on my site server or with the CCM client itself.
I am running out of ideas and was wondering if anyone has had this issue and has resolved it.

This is a known issue for SCCM 2012. A official fix will be released in the near future. If you want to test instantly, contact CSS to open a case to get a test fix.
There is a KB for this issue (English not available currently)

  • Inventory Issue

    Hi There,
I'm having an issue with our SAP Business One system.  We have an inventory item that we placed a Purchase Order for, and later canceled it.  The PO now shows that it is canceled.  However, if I look at the item, the quantity I had on the Cancelled PO is still showing in the "On Order" field.  Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue?
    Thank You

    Hi Devon,
    Go to
Stock Management/Inventory -> Stock Reports -> Stock Status
Here select your Item and click ok to run the report. If you have the same Ordered number here please double click on the line number, a new window will open and let you know what document is behind the number.
If this is indeed the cancelled document and not another one contact SAP support.

  • Inventory Issue: Movement type 905 creating two records in BI.

    Hello Experts,
We have a problem in Inventory scenario implemented in our system. After the month load completion in Snap shot Cube,we are getting quantity mismatch between BI and ECC values.I found out that there are records exist with movement type 905 creating problem.
we have only one record in ECC while there are two records exist in BI with one have reversal indicator on it and other does not have reversal indicator.Qty is same in both of the case ,also the record which have reversal indicator have Process key 100 while the record with out reversal indicator doesn't have any process key.And in further update from ODs ZMMDS104 to ICSNAP1 ,in update rule we are adding or subtracting on the basis of process key as per standard Inventory scenario implementation.
So am i right that this Movement type is creating problem ..?
Does any one faces this issue earlier...?
and if this is issue then how to resolve this ?
Please advice as soon as possible as it becomes a high priority issue in client space.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards,
    Yash Raj.

    Hi Aduri,
    Thanks for the quick reply.
I ma new to inventory field, can you please guide me how to check your advice details in the system like you
said "Recheck the Reversal Indicated Qty because if it has reverse indicator it should come from ECC or from ODS Check the Same at Change Log Table to trace the Changes."
What do you mean by "or from ODS" do you mean that ODS could create this entry ..? also this ODs ZMMDS104 is got daily loaded by delta from 2lis_03_bf . but this record is related to period 12/2008.and now we are in period 1/2009 (as i am trying to reconciling the data for last period) so i Guess there is no chance to find out this entry in change log.
Also "Try to see at DS field for the Process Key/Movement type with Reverse Indicator At ECC. "
How to check the same in data source?
Also "If you don't have the Reverse postings at ECC without process Key then you can  report on the same to the Functional Team/Client. But before that make sure  that you have reverse postings without process key assigned to it."
I checked in the ECC system(RSA3) There is only one record exist in for that material document it has positive quantity and material movement type 905 with movement indicator L.
    Waiting for your response.
    Thanks once again
