I want to create a Stock tansport order ( plant to plant transfer) with  stock & non-stock item and non stock item is giving an error  "Material not subject to inventory management in Plant".  Please tell me how to clear this error.   Plant / SLOC view is already maintained and no qty/value update selected on the material type because of non stock item.   Please tell me how to overcome this error on the STO

    Hello,
As you said you want to move nonstock item through STO.
It seems that in your case say for example your plant 1000 has material ABC which is maintained as stock item.
Now you have another plant 2000, whaich has same material ABC which is maintained as non-stock item (generally used in third party sales or cross docking).
If your material ABC is nonstock in plant 2000 where no stocks are mainatined,  then how can you move the stock to plant 1000 where it is stock item.
Could you please confirmthat can you see the stock in MMBE for plant where that material is maintained as non stock item.
If so, then  you have chnage the plant specific material status for that plant from non stock item to stock item.
This is maintained in material master in purchasing view.
The other way out is you have to third party sales with ship to party as the plant where that item is maintained as stock item.
    In this case flow is
Sales order>>Purchase requistion>>Purchase order>>(Vendor supplies material directly to customer (which is you plant where that item is stock item))

  • Error: material not subjected to inventory management in a plant

While creating a STO . I am getting the following error
Error: material not subjected to inventory management in a plant
    What should be done??????????/

    Dear anamicabhardwaj ,
You need to check transaction OMS2 for the material type you use for the material.
Basically for STO which need to inventorized, the quantity updating need to check
for the material type, then only it can be inventorized. There is no other option but check
    the quantity update indicator.

  • Inventory Management: Valuated Stock Value

    Hello Experts -
We're using inventory management. We're just bringing in 2lis_03_bf which is the material movements and the standard price datasource.
The plant valuated stock quantity and the valuated stock value are fine. The SLOC valuated stock quantity is fine. We're using the non-cumulative key figures for the valuated stock quantity and the valuated stock value. The SLOC valuated stock value isn't correct. So I just created a calculated key figure where I'm multiplying the quantity with the standard price.
This works fine but when I look at the plant level and use this CKF, the aggregation threw me off. So I changed the aggregation on CKF at the Bex level.
This works fine in dev and qa where I don't have too much of data. But as soon as I'm in in production, the query times out and gives me an error saying I reached the buffer limit.
I was thinking of calculating the valuated stock value at the ETL layer but now I'm thinking that if I do that and the price of a material changes, I'll again have the same problem. I can't re-load every time a material price changes.
Can someone please help me with this scenario?
    Thanks!

do not offer points, it is against the rules

    Hi Syed,
Deriving values by multipling with price also not correct. results will not match with R/3.
    Value Calculation
In principle, values are updated with Plant, Material, and Stock Category only. Quantities are updated with these characteristics, as well as with Storage Location, Batch Number, and Stock Characteristic
Check SAP Note 589024: Evaluations in BW with the Characteristics Storage Location and Stck Char.).
    Hope it Helps

  • Inventory management: Validy dates in queries???

    Hi experts,
    We have BW 7.0.
I have loaded data on 04.03.2010 with BF- and UM-datasources and compressed it correctly.
When I now look into the validy table for plant 0001 there is a validy range from 03.07.1997 to 08.02.2010.
But when I start a query for 09.02.2010 system says "no data found".
The document "How To Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW" says that I should show the result in parenthesis!
    What is up here?
But I don't want to update this validy table!!!
    Pls help!
    KR,
    Raimund
    Text in  document:
...For example, if data with document data was loaded into the
InfoCube with values from 01.01.2002 to 15.02.2002 (assigned to the respective time
characteristic), the validity interval is also determined by these two date values. You can
extend the intervals by maintaining the table (transaction RSDV). Stock balances are
displayed for requests that relate to this period. If you start a query that requests the
stock balance for 16.02.2002 or later, the result is displayed in parenthesis (a blank
value is displayed in BW 2.0B and 2.1C), since it lies outside the validity area (providing
that the validity table was not manually extended using transaction RSDV)....

    Hi,
    Hi,
Use 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF, 2LIS_03_UM to 0IC_C03 Cube and design the report.
    Use :
    0VALSTCKVAL   " for Value
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
    0CALMONTH        " for Month
Use the above combinations in New Selections in columns and go it.
    For Qty Opening:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input)  and set the offeset
value = -1 bcoz if user will give 12.2009 , so it will display 11.2009 closing stock, this is opening for 12.2009.
    For Qty Closing:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input) .
In the same way build for Value and other Keyfigures on 0IC_C03.
    And
    Drag & drop
    0MATERAIL
0PLANT  " Give some Input Variable.
    See the steps.
Treatment of historical full loads with Inventory cube
Setting up material movement/inventory with limit locking time
If it is BI 7 then for BX in in DTP in Extraction Tab you need to select Extacrion mode = NON-Cumulative option.

  • Print Smartforms in Inventory Management

    Dear Sappers,
My client requires a lot of samrtform in INventory Management including SC DC, Stock Transfer DC, GR etc.GR Smartform is coming as per my configuration. But other smartforms are not coming as per y configuration.
When I see the material documnet in MB02.I saw all the o/p types are coming for the respective transaction.Foe ex: If i'm going for Stock Transfer Smartform Print, I can see all the O/P types in the material document. So when I'm going to Print in MB90, the smartform is not triggering and system is giving one message.
Output could not be displayed (it may not be complete) Message no. VN069
Same thing applicable to S/C DC and other smartforms.
Is there any link between movement types and O/P types with access sequence??
Is there any other settings are there to take print????
Our client requires a smartform for Sub Contract DC.It's developed. In Inventory management I've assigned the programme name and smartform name and made the necessary settings.Even though I made the print is not coming.
Can anybody tell me where I've done the mistake?
I've created my o/p copying the standard WLB3 and created my own.
IN general data I put access sequence as 0004 & in default value I put dispatch time as 3 and transmission medium as 1.I made Print parameter as 7 plant/ storage location.
In processing routine I put the necessary programme name and smartform name.
In NACE, I've taken ME  - Inventory Management.Out O/P type and Trans/Event Type as WA, print Version 3, Print Item 3 and debit/Credit Indicator as H (Credit).
I assigned the Printer name there.
Apart from that I made the goods movement respect to plant and storage location as well as movement type.
Still my print is not coming.
    Any suggestions.

  • Starting Inventory Management in BW

    Hi experts,
I am starting Inventory Management in BW and using the How to Guide.
I understand how important the Stock init is and the need to block postings or to init during a period when no sotck movements occur.
This is especially important for us as we have stocks in Europe and Stock in the US.
Though I am still a little confused of during which steps of the Init the stock movements have to be blocked.
Here is how I processed in Dev system:
1- Activated necessary BI content in BW and 2LIS_03_ datasources in R/3 (transaction LBWE)
2- Intilialized the current stock in R/3 (transaction MCNB)
3- Executed INIT Infopackage to load current stock PSA table and then DTP (Extraction mode set to Initial Non-Cumulative for Non-Cumulative Values) to load the 0IC_C03 Cube
4- Deleted 03 Setup Tables in R/3 (transaction SBIW)
5- Initialized 03 Setup Tables (transaction SBIW)
6- Executed INIT Infopackage to load Good Movements PSa and then DTP to 0IC_C03 Cube (delta extraction)
7- Handle Delta movements in Process chain
Here are the questions I have:
    - Am I missing any steps (except stock valuation part)?
    - Do Stock posting have to be blocked during all these phases ? Or can they be queued in delta queue before doing the INIT of Infopackage (Step 6)?
    - There doesn't seem to go through step 5 restricting on plant/stock. So I need to init for all plants (seems to be only possible to restrict on posting date or document) and make sure all postings are blocked right?
Thanks a lot for your answeres.

  • Regarding inventory management

    Hi,
I have documnet How To Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW
    Version 1.3 – January 2005.
But it gives the details about 3.5 version. If i want to implemnet in 7.0 what all i need?
also i w2as trying to find the 'No marker update' option and all in 7.0 but coudnt find the same. Is thr so much difference in implementing INVENTORY in 7.0
    *Please help.

    Hi Jino,
    Briefly,
    a) Single Step transfer: -
this comes in STO, while transfer material between plants.
if you tick the indicator as one step in config,
Generally, when you do the PGI for material from supply plant to receiving plant, goods issue document will generate in Issuing plant.
Similarly goods receipt (GR)document  generate in receiving plant.
in One step procedure, GR will create automatically in background after you do PGI.
where as in Two Step Plant Transfer. AFter PGI, you have to create GR-MIGO also.
Hope it clears.  Try and let me know

    Kindly let me know
what are other configuration required for Inventory management in new plant?
Please provide if any check list available for Roll-out project.
    Thanks
    SAP-PQ

    Hi
    1) If your plant is excise then you have to create excise group for that plant and G/L setting for that excise group
    2) You have to extend your material in new plant
    3) check your material type update for quantity and value update for your new plant in t-code OMS2
    and check following link

  • Can i transfer stock with transfer order in Inventory management?

Can i transfer stock with transfer order in Inventory management between two storage locations in the same plant?

I hope you are referring a transfer order and the transfer between two storage locations connected to the same warehouse, and just not doing movement at IM level with a transfer order.
But, if you are referring to making a bin-bin transfer within the warehosue and you want to influence the storage location to storage location automatically, yes, you can do this. You should use 'storage location control' configuration under WM-IM interface to drive this. Essentially, you need to maintain the warehouse, destiantion storage type, plant, destination storage location and movement type 311. When you perform the transfer order confirmation to move inventory from a storage type (inventory is under source storage location) to the destination storage type (per the configuration setting) there will be an automatic transfer posting made to move inventory at IM level from source to desintation storage location.

  • Inventory Management Loading clarification - loading BX , BF and UM

    Hi,
I want to load inventory management from scratch.
I have ready lots of documents from this site related to this but still unsure.
In SAP document, It says that BX should be compressed with NO MARKER UPDATE and  while BF and UM should be compressed with NO MARKER Update box checked.
I also read some where that
BX and UM should be compressed with No marker update not selected while only BF should be compressed with marker update box checked.
which is the correct version or whats the difference between these two.
    thanks

    Hi Vaidya,
Inventory calculate all non cumulative values based on a reference +/- delta principle.
The reference is called the marker.
Answer to the question when should I do a marker update?
Initially, for first load to BW, if R/3 system has gone live earlier, each material would have some stock value in the plant. But if BW has to load only deltas , then it should have this initial stock figures.
So we do a statsitcal run for BX. This statistical run.. consider intial stock of R/3 when it went live + incoming material movement documents - outgoiong material movements and loads BX.
So after this load in BW, we compress the request in BW to create our marker to say 100PCS for material A in plant A as on 31.03.2009.
Now if you are interested in seeing on what were material movements(incoming/outgoing)  for 01.02.2009 in BW, you would have to load BF to BW.
So you rean intialization for BF and loaded BF in BW.
But this movement of material A on 01.02.2009 was considered in getting our marker value when we did BX load. This is because in our statistical run for BX we had calculated = R/3 initail stock + incoming movements - outgoing movements until 31.03.2009. So if we consider this historical movement for marker uppdae again our marker would become incorrect.
So when we load BF until 31.03.2009(initialization run) we do not update the marker. So we compress the marker without update.
From 31.03.2009 onward when you load detlas to BW for BF and UM every day, you would like to update the marker to keep it current as of date.
ie say material A moved out on 01.04.2009 - 20 pcs.
say material A moved in on 03.04.2009 - 40 pcs.
So on 4th when you load delta and update the marker , the marker value would be - 100 - 20 + 40 =120.
You update the marker because business is most often interested to see stock of previous or two to three days before. If the marker is updated then it has to check fewer records to get the delta to goe the the stock figure then.
Thus, for all future delta loads you would compress with marker update.
    Hope this helps,
    Best regards,
    Sunmit.

  • Inventory Management 0IC_C03: Beginning and ending inventory

    Hi Gurus
My report is based on Inventory Management cube and I have a requirement where in I need to show Begining Inventory and Ending Inventory for Plant per Period.
There is no KF for Beginning Invin SAP standard model in inventory management cube (0IC_C03 cube), so I thought to restricting total quantity by Fiscal period and Offset by minus one to get begining inventory.
    Here is my report layout:
I have got : Period , Plant in rows and Beginning and ending inventory in Columns.
    Desired Output:
Fiscal Period | Plant |  |  Begining Inventory | Ending Inventory.
    03/2009        |  1001 |    100                       |  50
    Actual Report output
Fiscal Period | Plant |  |  Begining Inventory | Ending Inventory.
    02/2009        |  1001 |                 100          |
    03/2009        |  1001 |                                |  50
So basically report is being split on two lines for current and previous (due to restriction in begining period : Offset =-1 on period).
Question is how to achieve both begining and ending inventory for a period in same line.
Thanks in avdance for help and time
    SA

    HI Naveen
Thanks for the reply. Non *** KF are already being used and Standard SAP model is being followed. Problem is not with back end but with frontend. Data coming on the report is fine but problem is how to show them on same line. Remember Beginning inventory for current open is ending inventory for previous month and  in SAP content there is no KF called as begining inventory. Basically data from two consecutive periods (current and previous one) needs to be on same row of report, but they are coming on different rows if we have period in drilldown by period. this makes sense but how to overcome this.
This, We have all the correct data but facing issue while displaying that on frontend.
    Thanks

  • Inventory Management 0IC_C03 customizations

    Dear Experts,
I have a task in hand to implement Inventory Management in SAP BW 3.5. Now, this is the first time that we will be implementing anything related to Logistics and I havenu2019t done so earlier in my support projects. I have got 10 hrs of downtime.
I need to fetch the report for both Trading as of now.
The fields needed in the report by the customer are:
    Plant
    Plant Description
    S. Loc.
    S.Loc. Description
      Opening Stock Qty,
      Opening Stock Value,
    Receipts against PO Qty,
            Value,
    Receipt against STO  Qty,
            Value,
    Receipt against return SO  Qty,
         Value,
    All Other Receipts  Qty,
          Value,
    RevaluationValue,
    Miro Differences,
    Issue against SO  Qty,
          Value,
    Issue against STO Qty,
            Value,
    All Other Issues Qty,
          Value,
      Closing Stock Qty,
               Value,
    Book Inv Qty,
    Physical Inv Count.
I am planning to define these as Zkey-figures and write routines in update rules based on processing keys to capture each qty and value separately.
    My questions are:
    1) What are the fields from above that can be pulled from standard BI Content Reports (if possible, please specify which report)? OR fields (or combination of fields) that are already in the cube?
    2) For every above field, customer has given standard movement types.
For ex: for Receipts against PO = Mov Types 101,105,123,162 (Doc Type IN/IM)
for Receipt against STO = Mov Types 351, 352 (Doc Type UB)
But when brought in BI, all routines are based on processing keys (BW Transaction key). Where can I find mapping of each processing key to the corresponding movement type?
If you know which processing key can be used for above fields, please let me know.
    3) What are the other fields that need to be considered in routines. If possible please specify field wise.
    4) Should I extend the 0IC_C03 with these new custome KFs creating a new zcube or should I add only required fields in zcube.
If I follow the latter, will there be any impact on standard BF/UM runs as in If I load till PSA and from PSA I follow my customized update rules terminating into my customized cube?
    Thanks friends.

    BJ,
    My questions are:
    1) What are the fields from above that can be pulled from standard BI Content Reports (if possible, please specify which report)? OR fields (or combination of fields) that are already in the cube?
~ You will get fields from the Cube only.
    2) For every above field, customer has given standard movement types.
For ex: for Receipts against PO = Mov Types 101,105,123,162 (Doc Type IN/IM)
for Receipt against STO = Mov Types 351, 352 (Doc Type UB)
~ Check this Table in Source system for BW Keys : TMCLVBW
But when brought in BI, all routines are based on processing keys (BW Transaction key). Where can I find mapping of each processing key to the corresponding movement type?
If you know which processing key can be used for above fields, please let me know.
    Check this table
    3) What are the other fields that need to be considered in routines. If possible please specify field wise.
That depends upon your requirement in the report or Check the standard Dcoument for Inv management in SDN search.
you will get lot of help.
~Best Practice and even SAP Recommends Make a ZCUBE and then enhance or customize to fullfill your rek.
No impact follow IM steps for BW.
Make sure you keep these things in Mind:
There are 3 SAP delivered transactional data sources for stock management.
2LIS_03_BX : Always needed to carry the initialization of the stocks.
2LIS_03_BF :  Initialize this in source if you need historical data else an empty init can be done for this to load only future delta records. If the Source system is new then no need to do an initialization.
2LIS_03_UM : Only needed if revaluations are carried out in Source. This data source is helpful if adjustment in material prices is done time to time otherwise it wonu2019t extract any data.
    2.  Check list for source system. Needs to be carried out before initialization of the above 3 data sources .
    A.   Table TBE11 : Maintain Entry u2018NDIu2019 with text u2018New Dimension Integrationu2019 and activate the flag(Note 315880)
    B.   Table TPS01 : Entry should be as below(Note 315880)
    PROCS u2013 01010001
    INTERFACE  - SAMPLE_PROCESS_01010001
    TEXT1 u2013 NDI Exits Active
    C.   Table TPS31 : Entry should be as below(Note 315880)
    PROCS u2013 01010001
    APPLK  - NDI
    FUNCT u2013 NDI_SET_EXISTS_ACTIVE
    D.   Tcode u2013   MCB_
In most cases you need to set the industry sector as u2018standardu2019. For more info please see Note 353042
    E.    Tcode u2013  BF11
Set the indicator to active for the Business warehouse application entry. This entry may needs to be transported to the production system. (Note 315880)
    3.  After running the setup data, check the data for the fields BWVORG, BWAPPLNM, MENGE. If no data available in these fields then some setting mentioned in the above checklist are missing in R/3. Correct the issue and rerun the setup data.
    4.  Data staging with DSO for BX extractor is not allowed. Data should directly load from extractor to Cube only once. Choose the extraction mode as u2018Initial Non-cumulative for Non-cumulative valuesu2019 in the DTP.
    5.  DSO is possible for BF. If you are creating a standard DSO then choose the fields MJAHR,BWCOUNTER,MBLNR,ZEILE as key fields. Some of these fields wonu2019t be available in the standard data source but the data source can be enhanced using LO Cockpit (LBWE) to add these fields. In addition to these other fields depending upon the DSO structure is also possible.
Note  417703 gives more info on this.
    6.  Point-5 is valid for UM also. The Key fields could be a combination of MJAHR,MBLNR,ZEILE,BUKRS  fields. Note 581778
    7.  Data load to the cube should follow the below process
    A.      Load the BX data. Compress the request with stock marker(uncheck the marker option).
    B.      Load the BF and UM init data. Compress the loads without the stock maker(Check the marker option).
    C.      The future delta loads from BF and UM should be compressed with Stock marker(uncheck the marker option).
    8.  If in future the cube needs to be deleted due to some issues then the load process should also be carried out as above. (only init of BF and UM should be loaded first and then the deltas should be processed)
    9.  To check the data consistency of a Non cumulative cube the standard program SAP_REFPOINT_COMPLETE can be used. To check the compression status of the cube the table RSDCUBE can be refered. Before the compression of BX request, the u2018REFUPDATEu2019 field should be blank and after the compression the value should become u2018Xu2019. Check Note 643687 for more info.
    10. After BX data load to cube the data wonu2019t be visible by LISTCUBE. Only after compression the data can be seen by running a query on the Non cumulative cube.

  • Inventory Management ODS

    Hi
What precautions to be taken before loading BF data into the ODS. Do we have any standard ods available in the business content.
My requirement is i have a report which is developed in ABAP but due to performance now they want that report to be developed in BI.
The data is comeing from AFPO, AFRU, MSEG, MKPF, VBAP.
In MKPF they want only posting date and from MSEG only movement types but not any goods issue qty or recepit qty like that.

    Hi
The DataSource 2LIS_03_BX is used to extract an opening stock balance on a detailed level (material, plant, storage location and so on). At this moment, the opening stock is the operative stock in the source system.
The DataSource 2LIS_03_BF is used to extract the material movements into the BW system. This DataSource provides the data as material documents in the MCMSEG structure.
    1.   Initialization of the current stock (opening balance) in the R/3 source system (transaction code in R/3: MCNB).
    2.   Setup of statistical data for material documents in the R/3 source system.
    3.   Loading the opening stock balance (InfoSource 2LIS_03_BX) into InfoCube 0IC_C03. In the InfoPackage, choose the upload mode “Create opening balance”.
    4.   Compressing the request containing the opening stock that was just uploaded. Make sure the "No marker update" indicator is not set.
    5.   Loading the historical movements into the InfoCube 0IC_C03 via the DataSource/InfoSource 2LIS_03_BF. Choose the upload mode "Initializing the delta process" here.
    6.   After successfully uploading the historical material movements, the associated request has to be compressed. You must make sure the "No marker update" indicator is set.
    7.   Schedule the V3 update for 03 area.
    8.   Delta uploads can be started with the DataSource 2LIS_03_BF from this point in time on.
As of 3.0B, SAP delivers InfoCube 0IC_C03 for reporting on R/3 inventory data in BW. This gets updated from the InfoSources 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM.
