Inventory Management using Custom Object 07

Hi Guys,
I have been trying to use custom object 07 as Inventory.
I have renamed custom object 07 as Inventory. I have verified that already a relationship exists between this custom object and Products. So, I modified the Inventory Page Layout to make the products related information section visible. I have created access profiles and role appropriately. I was able to see the products related information section in the Inventory detail page but I didn't see any means of associating records with the inventory like buttons.
Did I miss any step? Also could you point me to documentation related to custom objects?

My requirement doesn't require any reports to be developed. So, I didn't think about it. I tried to use custom object 7 for as Inventory. So, i just renamed Custom object 7 as Inventory. Already there is a relationship existing between custom object 7 and products. So, I went to the related information layout of Inventory(CO-7) and used the standard information layout provided for products. But, I didn't find any buttons to associate a product in the related information section under inventory. My main requirement is to manage inventory transactions. When a shipment is receiving the available quantity and the quality of the product have to be changed accordingly and so on. Currently I am using custom objects 1,2 and 3 for this purpose and i was able to achieve the requirement. Don't know what was wrong. May be the button was disabled purposefully. I will check it out and i will let you know. Can you explain in brief in two to three steps the procedure you followed ?

Error while using customizing object DNL_PLANT to download Plants

Hi All,
I am using customizing object DNL_PLANT to download plants from the R/3 system to the our CRM system.
From the table T001W (in R/3) to the table CRMM_LOCMAP (in CRM).
From this I am able to download the required Plants from the R/3 to CRM.
But the issue i am facing is that there are few entries (BP) defined as ( VERB- Affilated to Companies ) are also downloaded to the same table.
And these BP have been asssigned one more role other than VERB i.e. BBP003 now. These BP were intially present in the CRM system with role VERB only.Now they have two roles i.e. VERB and BBP003.
Is there anyway we can revert these entries from the table (CRMM_LOCMAP).
Or we remove the etra role (BBP003) added to the BP, by removing thses role by simply using BP transaction and removing the role.
Please suggest.

is this a static class with an inner class you created: GlAccountClasses.GaclAcctType ? If not then this cannot be found. If you want to pass the reference to another View Object, use
a) a method exposed on the other VO Impl class
b) The ViewLink accessor
If you are using Groovy on a VO level then it doesn't help if you have accessors defined on the EO level

Performance issue in Webi rep when using custom object from SAP BW univ

Hi All,
I had to design a report that runs for the previous day and hence we had created a custom object which ranks the dates and then a pre-defined filter which picks the date with highest rank.
the definition for the rank variable(in universe) is as follows:

Now to the issue I am currently facing,
The report works fine when we ran it on a test environment ie :with small amount of data.
Our production environment has millions of rows of data and when I run the report with filter it just hangs.I think this is because it tries to rank all the dates(to find the max date) and thus resulting in a huge performance issue.
Can someone suggest how this performance issue can be overcome?
I work on BO XI3.1 with SAP BW.

Using a variable on the BW side is not feasible since we want to use the same BW query for a few other reports as well.
Could you please explain what you mean by 'use LAG function'.How can it be used in this scenario?

Client/Server apps using custom objects

I have wrote an ip transaction server and I am trying to pass objects across to it that don't have to reside on the server. I have created an interface that implements serializable and then the class I am trying to pass implements the interface. I read that as long as the interface is on both the client and the server that the object doesn't need to be using this approach.
I, however, keep getting a classdefnotfound error for the custom object when I do a readObject().
Can this really be done?

That seems similar to your complaint (Java's object serialization not conforming to its own specs about "classes that don't need to be present", in that thread it is a non-serializable member object that blocks things). I get the feeling you hit a bug in Java's serialization mechanism and that it is caused by a faulty heuristic in Java serialization.

Forecasting by using Custom Object

I have created custom object with the below fields
Start Date
End date field
Period and one weblink
when the user select the fields and any of two( Either Start date & Enddate or Start date & Number of months in that Period The third field must automatically populated based on the remaining two) and afterthat i need excel sheet with 4 rows and n colums (Colums depends on Period as well and end date) to be populate on Web applet if the user click on Save the Forecasting will automatically generated in crm on demand. Use custom object or Service request

Currently in our client's CRMOD application they are using service requests. But they are telling us to assess if Service request can be replaced bu CO2. Can anyone tell me if this replacement is recommended and if not why?

1 - New List
2 - In the *"Search In"* picklist, select *"All records I own"*
3 - Put the following search criterias : Status contains at least one value Open, Open - Escalated
4 - Choose the columns you want to display
5 - Save your list as a public list

Business Content Inventory Management (0IC_C03) Cube

I am thinking of adding a data staging ODS to our Inventory Management model. However, I wanted to check whether the delivered cube 0IC_C03 is aggregated or whether it is a representation of the R3 extraction. If the latter is the case I do not see the purpose of an additional ODS layer. Could anyone pass their thoughts? Thanks

Reason and Prerequisites
The 2LIS_03_BF extractor does not return any "connected" after and before images, as in the SD extraction, for example.
Originally, the extractor was only designed for updating into an InfoCube. The extraction method was converted from the "D" delta process to "ABR1" with PI 2000.1 patch 4, or PI-A 2000.1 patch 4 so that it could be updated into an ODS object (see notes 322303, 385703 and 323811).
If documents are canceled in Inventory Management, a new document is generated (new document and item number).
This type of operation is transferred into BW with the "ROCANCEL" field set to 'X'. This results in the necessary inversion of quantities or value key figures. A new record is generated for this in the ODS (the "preceding document" has another key).
Example:
ODS key: Doc.
Movement data:
Document   Item    Document year   Movement type     Qty     ROCANCEL
4711       1       2002             101              +100
4712       1       2002              102              -100     X
ODS contents:
Document   Item.   Document year   Movement type    Quantity

The "Movement type" field was set to "initial" in the data record for document "4712" by the processing during the ODS update.
Document 4712 is a before image (0RECORDMODE = 'X') for the ODS. Therefore, this data does not arrive in the ODS. Nevertheless, the before image (document 4712) does not have any context with the after image (document 4711) because there are different keys (document/item/document year). The SAP R/3 inventory management controls these activities with new material documents and (reversal) movement types.
BW technology note no. 747037 provides more information.
Solution
You have two options to evaluate cancellations or operations which contain reversal movement types and ROCANCEL = "X" in the ODS:
1. Implement a start routine
Insert the following code into the start routine of your update:
ODS key: Material doc.|Item number|Calendar year

    DATA_PACKAGE-recordmode = ''.

2. Change the transfer rules
With the transfer rules, do not assign the "ROCANCEL" DataSource field to the "0RECORDMODE" InfoObject in the InfoSource. As a result, only records with "0RECORDMODE" = ' ' are transferred to the ODS. For the ODS, the after images whose characteristics or key figures that are set to overwrite, are not deleted.
Other special features when updating the extractors of the inventory management into ODS objects:
1. 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM
a) ODS capability

b) Key creation
For 2LIS_03_BF, see note 417703.
The following keys are available for 2LIS_03_UM:
1. MCMSEG-BUKRS
2. MCMSEG-BELNR
3. MCMSEG-GJAHR

Field no. 4 is not delivered as standard in the extract structure, but it can be added using the Logistics extract structures Customizing Cockpit.
Field no. 1 may not be included in the relevant organizational structure.

The dynamic stock calculation from stocks (2LIS_03_BX) and movements (2LIS_03_BF) is only possible with (non-cumulative) InfoCubes.

Event Bubbling Custom Object not inheriting from control

One of the new things flash flex and xaml have are ways which
the event easily bubbles up to a parent that knows how to handle
the event. Similar to exceptions travel up until someone catches
it.
My goal is to use the frameworks event system on custom
objects. My custom objects are:
ApplicationConfiguration
through composition contains:
SecurityCollection which contains many or no SecurityElements
and
FileSystemCollection.cs which contains many or no

basically these custom objects abstract the xml details of
accessing attributes, writing content out of the higher application
layers.
These custom objects hold the application configuration which
contains the users options. The gui application uses these
parameters across various windows forms, modal dialog boxes ect.
The gui has a modal dialog that allows the user to modify these
parameters during runtime.
basically i manage: load, store, new, edit, delete of these
configuration files using my custom objects.
Where would event propagation help in custom objects like

currently this logic is maintained else where. I serialize
the root node which compositely serializing the nested nodes and i
check of the serialization is different from that in the backend

like an event driven system.

I have a strong sensation that the OSMF project is quite dead.
no new submits since 2010, the contact form on the offical OSMF

returns a PHP error.
and many unanswered questions about OSMF in this forum.
i think it would be wise to not use OSMF if possible, although
I'm also stuck with it since we are utilizing HDS/PHDS
protocols which are utilized in the framework.
otherwise its quite a head-ache.
I'm unable to get to a video element coming from a proxied element
that is being produced via an HDS connection.

We use Custom Object 01 for Comment under the Calendar(Activity) Screen.

1. We want to manage Comment that are made by Manager after closing Sales Activity
2. But, we can't manage Comment history in Calendar(Activity) Details because it is remained Last Comment in Details
3. So, we use Custom Object 01 for Comment
- Problem & Question :
1. We can manage Comment history under Calendar(Activity) Screen
2. But, we can't make Report Comment Report related with Account, Contact
3. So, we want to know
a. Are there no relationship Custom Object 01(Comment) with Account, Contact in Calendar(Activity) Screen
b. If we have to make Comment Report related with Account, Contact, how to make it?

Your question is not clear. Do you want CO 1 to be related to Account, Contact and Activity? Or not? And what exactly is the reporting question?
Custom Object 1 is available for Real-Time reports. The Custom Object 1 subject area allows you to report on CO along with the related Accounts, Activities, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, and Service Requests.

Is there a way to find version for customizing objects?

SAP default will provide Version Management na.
go to se 38 -> ur program -> Utilities -> version management.
Otherwise VSS(Visual Source Save ) is a tool used for version management.
Check for VSS whether it is there in your company.

But after trying to analyse by COD BI Answer, I found it is 1:1 relationship not M:1 or M:M Relationship

Checking the status of task records tied to the custom object 3

We are using custom object 3
There has been lot of configuration work done on this object.
There is a checkbox on the UI. When a user will checks off the check box, a task record(s) is created depending on the condition.
Is there a way for me to check the status on the task records and then set a field on the parent record i.e. custom object 3.

How to link custom object 05 to accounts

Hi,
I used custom object 05 to create the "Forecast" object. In order to create the desired reports I need to link the cusom object to Accounts. I already found out that there is Read-Only Picklist available that searches in the Accounts and I use that I get the desired result. But unfortunatly, the users have manually select an account everytime they enter a forecast. Is there was to automaticcaly fill in this field to create the relationship between account and forecast? I tried entering a default value in the "Account" filed but it seems to be an standard field and the option is greyed out.
The forecast is created under opportunity, so I can get the "Opportunity: Account" field filled in automaticcaly but that does not result in a relationship between account and the forecast.
Any advice?

JoinfieldValue will not work for Custom Object 4-15. You will have to use web services to achieve your requirement.

Data import/update on Custom Objects

Hi,
We are using the Custom Object1 for capturing site data within an opportunity. Since the custom object does not have capability to check for duplicates, the users have now entered data into this object which have lot of duplicates and also the data quality and integrity is lost. I am trying to see if there is an option to export this data and reimport them back after cleansing the data.
I then realised while importing custom objects, the only available option is to use external id.All the site that have been entered by the users do not have any external unique id. Also there is no option to do a mass delete records within the custom object1.
I understand that the only option to cleanse and reimport them back into ondemand is using web services. I want to use web services as last option.
Is there any other option to reimport them back into ondemand using the import utility after cleansing the data.
I would like to know what is the best practice while using custom objects. Is it advisable to populate a default value in the external unique id for custom objects while creating new records. If i had populated some value in the external unique ids while creating those records, i would have had the option to update the existing records. Now i don't even that option.
I am looking for some suggestions for this issue.

I exported the data and mapped the row id to the external unique id. Like i said before, the external id is blank in crm ondemand when it is created. We did not have any default value specified for the external unique id.
When i tried to import with overwrite option, it does not find a match.
I get the following error message as i expected.
Row Id: AEMA-EYGFE     No matching record has been found. The import process will ignore this record.
Row Id: AEMA-F8CPC     No matching record has been found. The import process will ignore this record.
Row Id: AEMA-12CLIA     No matching record has been found. The import process will ignore this record.
Unless i do a web service update of External Unique ID in crm ondemand, the import option will not work.
