Inventory management at customer location

Dear Gurus,
Not sure to which category this query belongs, hence posting in two areas.
How can we update/manage stock delivered to a customer location using a drop shipment order?
Many Thanks
Kumar

to manage stocks at a customer location, you usually create consignment sales orders and fill-up deliveries.

  • Inventory Management using Custom Object 07

    Hi Guys,
I have been trying to use custom object 07 as Inventory.
I have renamed custom object 07 as Inventory. I have verified that already a relationship exists between this custom object and Products. So, I modified the Inventory Page Layout to make the products related information section visible. I have created access profiles and role appropriately. I was able to see the products related information section in the Inventory detail page but I didn't see any means of associating records with the inventory like buttons.
Did I miss any step? Also could you point me to documentation related to custom objects?
    Thanks and Regards

Hi Bobb. Thanks for the reply.
My requirement doesn't require any reports to be developed. So, I didn't think about it. I tried to use custom object 7 for as Inventory. So, i just renamed Custom object 7 as Inventory. Already there is a relationship existing between custom object 7 and products. So, I went to the related information layout of Inventory(CO-7) and used the standard information layout provided for products. But, I didn't find any buttons to associate a product in the related information section under inventory. My main requirement is to manage inventory transactions. When a shipment is receiving the available quantity and the quality of the product have to be changed accordingly and so on. Currently I am using custom objects 1,2 and 3 for this purpose and i was able to achieve the requirement. Don't know what was wrong. May be the button was disabled purposefully. I will check it out and i will let you know. Can you explain in brief in two to three steps the procedure you followed ?
    Thanks and Regards

  • Serial Numbers in Inventory Management – Warehouse Managed storage location

Serial Numbers in Inventory Management u2013 Warehouse managed storage locations
We want to run inventory cycle at the warehouse for materials. These materials are u2018serial numberedu2019 in the material master. During the initial entry (say GR) of the materials, systems prompt for the serial numbers. At this point, system offers option of assignments of serial numbers automatically.
While running an inventory cycle for warehouse u2013 and posting difference at WM level (LI01), system is throwing error as u201Cmaintain serial number for totol quantityu201D. System does not promt me to enter the serial number for the materials (count) which are found excess/shortage duing the inventory cycle.
Is there any configuration where this scenario can be managed; system should prompt us to enter serial number while posting differenes at WM level (LI20).
    The inventory cycle is -
    1.     Create Physical Inventory Documents - LI01N
    2.     Activate Physical Inventory Document -      LI02N
    3.     Enter Count -     LI11N
    4.     Post Differences at WM level -     LI20
    5.     Post Differences at IM level(If Differences are posted at WM ) -     LI21

Curious to know: The WM Inventory transaction - LI11N - (where we enter physical count. )
    1. Compared to MI04 - IM Inventory Transaction: where a pop-up window asks for serial number of the material.
    2. We expect a similar pop-up at LI11N transaction- where the system should ask serial numbers.
Q.1 How can we achieve this?
Q.2 Will this be a standard SAP practice?  (if we do customizing to get serial nos. pop-up window at LI11N)
    thanks,

  • Customizing Inventory Manager 4.0 mobile application

    Hi,
I need to make some customization on Inventory manager 4.0 mobile application. For this I need to know the following:
Do I need to customize the java source code of the application in order to adapt the mobile application to my business process, like for example: Add fields, Add actions, etc?  or just extending java classes and do modification on the IM Agentry Application is enough to do the customization?
If I need to include a complete new screen on the mobile application, which is a complex customization. Will I need to ask for this java source code to the sale representative in order to make the customization?
This questions were raised on this post Integration SMP 3.0 and Inventory Manager 3.2 / 4.0  and as I also read Migrating from SAP IM 3.2 to SAP IM 4.0  I found out the java source code must be requested to SAP because on this version is not available to download from marketplace. But I really want to know if I need to do this or not, I'm not very clear about this. It make sense what Stephen Streeter wrote in one of his answers, I don't want to modify the base java classes... I just want add functionality /fields to what is already develop on IM 4.0, but on the other hand, If I want to add a field to MDO, maybe I will need to change the stepHandler class so... I guess that is why Jason Latko confirmed that I need those file... and therefore I need to request to SAP in order to get it and make the customization possible... But I'm not really sure... so at that point I got so confused that I realize I need to ask about this on another thread.
    Please help me...

    Hi guys,
I need to include two properties on Order Object for IM 4.0 app in order to make visible two additional fields on the order list screen. I have installed my development environment and import to eclipse the copy of the app project (all good). I saw that on Standard DataObject, both fields are included and with the active flag checked (so I guess the Steplet might read them without doing anything on the classes), but now I have to reference it on the object... but I dont know how were named those fields on the steplet class and I'm reading on the documentation I have and the newly properties name for the object must be the same as it was referenced on the class.... This means that I have to ask for the java classes in order to get the name and create the property with the correct name???
Or I must  create a custom POJO Class in order to manipulate this fields on the mobile app???
Or Is there a list where I can see what is the name of those fields on the steplet class???

  • Inventory management for Equipment

    Hello Experts,
One of our client is currently using SAP-ERP system. They are having sensitive equipment for their safety purpose to all the gate securities. Now they are using Third party tool for their application. The current system is not reliable for tracking the material flow, equipment tracking, and online inspection for the equipment. Currently they are having 40posts (Gates).Different type of equipment is located in all the posts based on its range.
Equipment issue, Retrieve equipment, conumption posting, scrap accounting also maintain in MM
So they want to automate this process in SAP system  which includes all the Employee details (Security),Medical Fitnessu2026u2026u2026for ease tracking of the equipment ,status of the equipment, employee equipment training, online-inspection and security shift change details.
How to map this scenario in MM?Awaiting for your valuable reply.

  • The interface connecting Lean-WM and inventory management

    Dear experts!
    Thank you for your attention!
I am confused at the interface connecting Lean-WM and inventory management.
there are so many concepts in this field, such storage location, picking areas, storage types and so on.
Could you please give me an real case or a illustration to discribe that how the interface connecting Lean-WM and inventory management works?
    Best regard!
    Tangdark

you do nto need to enter serial numbers while clearing inventory at WM level but at IM in case you have the serial profile activated then you need to enter serial numbers when clearing inventory from the IM level.
according to what you have said it should automatically pop up a screen where you need o enter the serial numbers but this is weird it is not doing.
    Please check the following:-
Does the serial number profile config in OIS2 have "MMSL" as a property and if so is entry of serial numbers mandatory during goods receipt and issue ad if there is a stock check active

  • HU without inventory management and message L3778 in storage type 999

    Hi experts,
Need suggestion on the process to add inventory of an HU with status 'HU without inventory Management'. This issue has occurred out of the below scenario:
    1. our warehouse is HU & WM managed.
    2. We have a transfer order for a delivery document requesting to pick up 100 cases of MAT1 which is assigned to HU1.
    3. While confirming the transfer order user has confirmed difference for the full quantity of 100 because the SU/HU was not found in the bin.
    4. The system has set the status of HU as 'HU without inventory Management'. The HU is empty.
    5. system has moved the stock from the bin to difference storage type 999.
Now user has found the stock for this HU and he wants to post the stock back into the bin. system does not allow to move the stock back to bin using LT01 as we get error message 'L3 778'.
What will be the best practice to get the stock back into the bin and post the stock into the same old HU.
Is there a process wherein we can post this stock to another bin and repack into the old HU?
    Thanks,
    Harish

Thanks Manish on the hint. I was able to transfer stock to partner location and then bring back to original Storage type/Bin. Below steps was used to fixed the issue:
    1. Initiate a transfer of stock from WM/HU Sloc where the IM stock resides into Sloc 9099. An outbound delivery is created during this process.
    2. Create a transfer order with reference to delivery and pick the stock from 999 storage type.
    3. Create a Pick HU using LH01 and assign the HU on the pallet to the transfer order.
    4. Confirm the transfer order using LT12.
    5. Perform PGI for the delivery.
    6. Use HUMO to display the HU and then you can transfer the stock back to WM/HU location using the storage location transfer option available on the HUMO screen(EDIT à change HU posting à Storage location)
    7. Perform Bin to bin transfer to move the SU from 921 storage type to putaway the HU/SU back to the destined Storage type/Bin.

  • Inventory Management - BADI

    Good day,
Currently the Inventory Management extractors(2LIS_03_BF, 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_UM) only extracts Local Currency. We would like to extract the values in Group Currency as well. Doing currency translations is not an option for several business reasons. We have to have the Group currency as it appears in the Material Ledger. I debugged the standard extractor for Inventory management and noticed that the extractor caters for a BAdI(Business Add In). Can anyone please give me an indication where I can look for this BAdI. I looked on SPRO on R/3 and there is a list of BAdI's under BW, but I don't know which one to use and how to use it. I would appreciate help in this regard.
    Thank you.

Hi dear and welcome on board !
I think you have to fill your additional field in the usual exit provided for customer enhancement (RSAP0001) in CMOD transaction, EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001 in the include ZXRSAU01...
Otherwise you can go fot the new RSU5_SAPI_BADI...
    Hope it helps!

  • Inventory Management: Valuated Stock Value

    Hello Experts -
We're using inventory management. We're just bringing in 2lis_03_bf which is the material movements and the standard price datasource.
The plant valuated stock quantity and the valuated stock value are fine. The SLOC valuated stock quantity is fine. We're using the non-cumulative key figures for the valuated stock quantity and the valuated stock value. The SLOC valuated stock value isn't correct. So I just created a calculated key figure where I'm multiplying the quantity with the standard price.
This works fine but when I look at the plant level and use this CKF, the aggregation threw me off. So I changed the aggregation on CKF at the Bex level.
This works fine in dev and qa where I don't have too much of data. But as soon as I'm in in production, the query times out and gives me an error saying I reached the buffer limit.
I was thinking of calculating the valuated stock value at the ETL layer but now I'm thinking that if I do that and the price of a material changes, I'll again have the same problem. I can't re-load every time a material price changes.
Can someone please help me with this scenario?
    Thanks!

do not offer points, it is against the rules

    Hi Syed,
Deriving values by multipling with price also not correct. results will not match with R/3.
    Value Calculation
In principle, values are updated with Plant, Material, and Stock Category only. Quantities are updated with these characteristics, as well as with Storage Location, Batch Number, and Stock Characteristic
Check SAP Note 589024: Evaluations in BW with the Characteristics Storage Location and Stck Char.).
    Hope it Helps

  • Inventory Management Cube 0ic_c03, 0StockType

In the Inventory Management Cube 0ic_c03 queries,I've found that  0StockType has descriptions that are misleading because of the way they are written in domain bstaus (R3 side), especially when seeing the key and SHORT description (truncated beyond meaning).
OK I can correct these by changing BStaus 's texts.
The main changes I'd do are for the Customer Consigment, Customer Return Packaging and Material Provided to Vendor descriptions.
But what does 0StockType 'blank' (or #) mean ?
(It seems to mean something like Valuated Stock Valuation and 'Not Defined' is not very good in a Query result)

Well, no one replied, but I got feedback from OSS.  So just in case anyone is interested.....
I had to use r3 > se11 to change the domain descriptions myself.
Bstaus 'blank' I put as 'Valuation'
I also improved some of the Bsttyp descriptions whilst there

  • Inventory management

    Hi,
In Inventory management ...for reports i am using standard queries taken from metadata repository but i am not using the standard cube instead using a custom cube and copied all those queries on to custom cube...since for all figures routines have been written in update rules...
please tell me wheather i need to test them with R/3 to know whether data flow or data entries are right or no...
if i have to test from BW to R/3 then i need to test them in Standard reports of R/3 not using RSA3 becoz the values of key figures are calculated during runtime and i dnt get them in RSA3 m i right?
please suggest me where i can search the standard reports in R/3...which transactions i need to use...
    e.g.Receipt quantity :Blocked stock(0RECBLOSTC)
WHERE can i get the values for this in R/3?

  • Error "Material not subject to inventory management in Plant " on the STO

I want to create a Stock tansport order ( plant to plant transfer) with  stock & non-stock item and non stock item is giving an error  "Material not subject to inventory management in Plant".  Please tell me how to clear this error.   Plant / SLOC view is already maintained and no qty/value update selected on the material type because of non stock item.   Please tell me how to overcome this error on the STO

    Hello,
As you said you want to move nonstock item through STO.
It seems that in your case say for example your plant 1000 has material ABC which is maintained as stock item.
Now you have another plant 2000, whaich has same material ABC which is maintained as non-stock item (generally used in third party sales or cross docking).
If your material ABC is nonstock in plant 2000 where no stocks are mainatined,  then how can you move the stock to plant 1000 where it is stock item.
Could you please confirmthat can you see the stock in MMBE for plant where that material is maintained as non stock item.
If so, then  you have chnage the plant specific material status for that plant from non stock item to stock item.
This is maintained in material master in purchasing view.
The other way out is you have to third party sales with ship to party as the plant where that item is maintained as stock item.
    In this case flow is
Sales order>>Purchase requistion>>Purchase order>>(Vendor supplies material directly to customer (which is you plant where that item is stock item))

  • Project wise Inventory Management

    Hello
My client is in construction business. Following is the existing business process he follows :
    1. Material is procured from the vendor and receive in inventory and then o demand it is released from the inventory to site of the project.  (this scenario occurs rarely)
2.Material is procured from the vendor and send directly to the site of the project.
Note :  One Project can have more than 1 site.
Please let me know how to map the above process in best manner.
    thanks
    Tomas

    Hi Tomes......
As I mentioned, you can issue the material through Goods Issue via only one document but as you want toi maintain it more that one site create a UDF called Location/Site and you may manage goods issue onr row per site.
Let say if you want to issue material under project XYZ have three sites A, B And C
And Qty as 10 Nos/Kgs on Site A with Project XYZ, 20 Nos/Kgs on Site B with Poject XYZ and 15 Nos/Kgs on site C with Project XYZ
So OpenGoods Issue document and select itms on first line and select site in UDF as A and you can find Project column also activate it through Form Setting, there you select XYZ and give qty as 10Nos/Kgs.
Second line and select site in UDF as B and you can find Project column also there you select XYZ and give qty as 20 Nos/Kgs
Third line and select site in UDF as C and you can find Project column also there you select XYZ and give qty as 15 Nos/Kgs....
I guess this way you can manage Inventory management Proejct with different site wise under one Goods Issue document. And same is applicable for all the marketing docs......

  • Handling unit without inventory management

    Hi Experts,
In our scenario, we have Goods reciept from production into Storage location 1000 which is IM managed, Later the stocks are transfer posted into storgae location 1100 which is HU/WM managed. Now in 1100 i have found HU's which have been created with status 'Handling unit without Inventory management'.
Can someone explain to me what does it mean when a HU gets created with this status? under which scenario does the system create the HU with this status?
Also when this HU is scanned for putaway the system gives error message Handling unit does not exist in SAP. Can someone let me know the resolution or the root cause for this issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Harish

    Hi,
The above mentioned status is when a Handling Unit created, but the Inventory management is not yet posted for the content materials of the HU
I can give an example:  Created a Inbound Delivery for material XXX. Then a HU is created in Packing screen, but the PGR is not yet done. At this stage, HU has the same status
    Hope this helps
If the GR/GI is reported for HU contents, then the HU status will change. With you case, a Handling Unit is just created, but no further tansaction like, packing, GI or GR is done.
