Inventory Sharing

Hi All,
we have a requirement to share the inventory across the plants.
In Detail:
our company has multiple plants and one of the plants(lets say X) has excess inventory for a number of materials and other plants(Y,Z ..etc) of the company are buying these materials externally instead of using the excess material available in plant(X) with in the company.
We would want to have a functionality when we run MRP for plant Y to propose the material from the excess inventory plant(X) instead of creating PR's or Schedule lines for external vendor.
I understand that SAP MRP is on plant level but can we use some logic to make the system to consider other plant(X) stock when running MRP for a particular plant(Y).
Any out of the box thoughts would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Manik

Hi,
In the material master of the plants Y & Z, at MRP 2 view maintain procurement type as F and the speical procurement indicator as 40.
Also in the MRP views somewhere there is a field called Delivering Plant ( i dont have acccess to system now ) please search probably with 1 or 2 view.
So please maintain the delivering plant as X for both the material masters at Y and Z and then try running MRP for the material at Plant Y and Z independently and try it out.
Regards,
RitiG

  • How do you Identify the fulfilling organization on an order?

Can it be identified by the organization_id (or even attribute_category) in the table mtl_system_items_b? Or is that simply the organization where the distribution center (or warehouse) is located? Or is this something that is different within different installations of Oracle?
The problem is our orders are credited to one organization but the actually fulfilling might be done by another. The reason we do this is to have a single customer facing entity. So if you wanted to know where that order actually originated it can be challenging.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is a shipping org (basically the warehouse) but it is shared by multiple orgs. So you could have one organization that took the order, it would be shipped from that shared organization, and booked to the customer facing organization. I was hoping to trace the order back to the original organization.
    >
Sorry but I am still not clear. Can you give real example and why is it setup this way? How many inventory orgs do you have? Are they under the same OU?
When you say organization, do you mean inventory organization or you mean a company/OU?
I can understand that the physical warehouse is shared by different "orgs". But is the inventory shared too? Or do each orgs maintain their own inventory?

  • How do Lightroom users manage sharing photos with family?

I'm just looking for some best practices about how to handle the workflow of sharing photos.  Obviously the Lightroom user doesn't want family members to start messing around with the photos outside of Lightroom, and if the photos are not JPGs family members might not be able to view them anyway.  One solution I can think of is to shoot all photos in JPG and in Camera Raw at the same time and save the JPGs to a folder available to everyone and only import the Camera Raw ones into Lightroom.

This is a possible solution, but by doing this, family members will not be able to see changes you applied to the photos from within LR.
Another option would be to export your LR inventory (or parts of it) regularely to a specific folder, where others can access the JPEGs/TIFFs.
In LR 3, this can be somewhat automated by using the Publish Services to harddisk, where only changed photos are exported again a second or successive time.
A different approach could also be LRViewer, which lets you view images in a LR catalog from the previews without accessing the originals and without being able to change anything on them.

  • Error while installing shared technologies

I just purchased Photoshop 11 from download services at Amazon. In the middle of installation, I get error "error while installing shared technologies. Please restart your system and try again" in Windows 7 professional, 64 bit.
    I tried this.
    1. restarted system, change drive/folder multiple times
    2. In the installation folder went to
....\PSE 11\ElementsSTIInstaller folder and ran setup. It installed shared technologies (whatever that means). Then tried installing. Same error.
    3. Cleaned up all Adobe products and tried installation again. Same error.
    Any help apprciated.
    Thanks!
Here is the log for installation.... On support pages, they ask us to review that...can someone?

I don't have any documents from Microsoft or Adobe to offer but you may want to review the following couple of links:
    http://www.itechtalk.com/thread3595.html
    http://geekswithblogs.net/renso/archive/2009/10/21/how-to-set-the-windows-path-in-windows- 7.aspx
They both seem accurate to my knowledge.  If you can afford the space you may also want to try temporarily installing to the default location.  This would help further determine if the customized location is what is causing your difficulties.
One of our community members Mylenium has also wrote a useful blog on the topic of installing on a SSD.  You can find the relevant blog at http://myleniumerrors.com/installation-preparations/.

  • PS 11 wont install, shared technologies error...here are my logs

    Hi vwvr6r,
As kglad said the logs do not show any errors.
For troubleshooting using log files you can refer : http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html
Also refer this Adobe document that lists installation troubleshooting steps, including the "Shared Technologies" error:

  • Multiple facts with shared/non shared dimensions

    Hello All,
I have a scenario where we are using multiple facts in OBIEE. Fact1(Inventory Onhand) is joined to all shared dimensions, and Fact2( Forecasting Values) is joined to few shared dimesnions so the joins are like:
    Fact1 with Dim1, Dim2, Dim3, Dim4, Dim5, Dim6..
    Fact2 with Dim1,Dim3, Dim5
I have given the physical joins in the physical layer, later in the logical layer I pulled the fact2 in to to the fact1(multiple LTS) and then set the aggregattion levels for the non conformed dimensions. This was working fine for me but the customer was not happy with this. He doesnt want to have different levels of data in to a single fact.
What are the allternate possible solutions to implement this in the busines layer?
    Any ideas/inputs are highly appreciated.
    - Abhi

    Hi,
I have done the same as explained above. But here the issue is we are getting duplicate data.
For Ex: if i have one common dimmension attribute and two non confirmed dimension attributes with a measure. For non confirmed dimension have different value and for all these values the common dimension attribute is same. Then the common attribute will repeat for all non confirmed dimensions.so, here automatically the Corresponding measures also repeating.
    Common Attr non-Confirm Attr1 non-Cnfirm Attr2 measure
    123 abc xyz 1000
    123 bac yzx 1000
    123 pqr mno 1000
If you observe the above exapmple the confirm dime attr is same for both non confirm dime attrs, so the measure values also repeating here. If i see the data base i have measure data only for ABC record. For Remaining two records it is 0, but here the value 1000 is showing for remaining two records as well.
Please let me know if any one face this issue earlier.
    Regards,
    Aari

  • I am having a challenge getting an uploaded Podcast to appear on iTunes inventory list although it is present once I click on a left hand column for Podcasts (the extra step may make it too elusive for listeners to find.)

Each week, a Radio Program is uploaded from my website to iTunes for access to our community. The December 17, 2012 episode and January 7, 2013 episodes, although they've been uploaded, will not appear on the Inventory on iTunes. When I look to the left of the running list of Inventory, which appears in alphabetical order, the word Podcast appears to the left with a number 1 next to it - as if there's a message waiting. When I click
there and open, the December 17 episode is listed.
Is there a way for the Podcast to join the other episode titles in chronological order? There will be another new one from this morning to join the list.
(I have not heard back from Express Apple, have tried iTunes Support, Blog Talk Support, etc.)
Thanks for any insights or tips....

  • Inventory management with SnapShots

    Hi
I've got this document, "How to handle inventory management scenarios in BW".
It's generally very clear, no problem to understand the standard solution (0IC_C03, non-cumulatives).
But I really didn't understand the explanation about Snapshot on the monthly positions.
So I ask someone to explain how does the concept work.
    Example:
The document refers to material movements in 01.2004 and 03.2004.
    Question 1:
What are the values posted to the DSO and to the InfoCube after initial load (after the first load of datasources BX and BF/UM) ???
Will we have registers to 01.2004, 02.2004, 03.2004 and 12.9999, both in the DSO and in the InfoCube ?
    How does month 12.9999 work?
    Question 2:
What are the values posted to the DSO and to the InfoCube after the second BF load?
    Let's suppose 2 movements in 04.2004 and 2 movements in 05.2004.
Will we add registers to 04.2004 and 05.2004 both in the DSO and in the Cube?
    Thanks in advance.
    Cesar Menezes

    Hi Cesar,
Not sure if this could be helpful.. but still sharing..
    http://www.biportal.org/discussion_forum?mode=MessageList&eid=350671
As even I want to understand differences between 2 methods.. Snapshot and 0IC_C03 (non cumulative)
    Could you find any leads?
    Regards, Vittali

  • P13/Profile data sharing between two WLP instance

We are using WLP 10.3 with oracle as our portal database, we have lot of users in QA and their user profile data stored in one of our WLP-1 instance, now there is need of another WLP instance that we would like to use.
    Here is what we did
    1. We cloned the database information related to WLP-1 to another database intended for WLP-2
    1. We created another WLP domain(WLP-2), and modified the all the data source to point to the 2nd database schema assuming that all the profile data and users will be availble to WLP-2.
Now we are deploying our application to WLP-2 domain, here is what we are getting while deploying, during deployment we do set entitlement information from a XML file(Imported/downloaded from our primary development machine where we do all the build/entitlements setting), not sure if there any other way to clone a WLP domain/ user profile.
Any help on this is much appreciated.

No I think it is supported, here is my commit.log which says we can re-use a existing WLP RDBMS with a new WLP domain. I just don't know how to reset, We are not sharing the same db here, we have a copy of original portal schema/db

  • Using the information in the inventory....

The Inventory system detected a bunch on computers on my network with an old
    BIOS version.
I would like to set you the Novell Application Explorer to make available to
the computers connected that have that older version but I would like to set
it up using the distribution criteria and then make it generally available
rather than specifically selecting the workstations.
    Does this make sense?
And can I do what I want to do?
    If so, how??
    Thanks in advance.

Inventory does not really do this as far as I know.
This would take some custom scripting on your part.
You would need a couple ZENworks apps.
The 1st app would use WSH or similar tool to read the bios and related
information from the PC and then place this information into a REG Key or
    Permanent Environment variable.
Lots of info about the PC could be stored in this fashion.
Then have a 2nd app that pushes updates based upon those values.

  • Query Time Out and Shared Objects

    Hi,
    I have 2 questions.
    1) from st22 i can get the list of users and time out information. But how can I find related query which has been time out by that user ?? as of now i was getting query information from st22 by getting abap program name which starts with "G" and find related query for that from the table rsrrepdir. But recently it is happening that i get abap program which starts with "G" from st22 time out but its not giving me any query information in RSRREPDIR table or by t-code se38.
can anyone guide me how can i get query info from st22 ? we have so many time out occuring in production have to trace that and improve the query performance.
    2) 2nd question is - how can i get list of queries which are having shared objects like variables, templates, key figures, structures etc...
is there any specific table or t-code which provides that? we have to delete some queries in prod. but before that we want this list.
A.H.P. I am counting on you extensively for help coz i have seen that you reply to everybody. and i have asked same question in another forum at SDN but no reply !!!
    waiting for help...

    Hi Bhanu,
thank you for your prompt reply.
well, we dont have woorkbooks atall. we got the inventory list of all queries needs to be deleted in production. we are deleting very very old queries which are not even in used now. i know the variables and str. etc...remains but still needs to know how to find out the queries with shared object. i want that information in hands before i delete anything in dev. system and transport it to prod. so, i will have proof that i didnt delete anything important. hope you understands what i mean and why i need to know this !
i found few tables related to this but cannt relate them and get the info I need. RSRREPDIR, V_ELTDIR_TXT, RSZELTXREF,etc..
where used list in BEx gives us the webtemplates names nothing else. i meant not the shared objects. and if it is giving shared objects info then i guess i am not aware of it coz few queries i tried to check didnt get that info in "where used" list.
in metadata repository ?? i didnt get it!! how can i find queries with shared objects in metadata rep ?

  • Probable BUG found in Sybase Inventory database

    Hi All,
(Sure is quiet around here - must be because ZDM 7 is so stable...)
So I have been having inventory database issues. Random but inevitable
database failures - eg "assertion failed 201425" (and other numbers that I
cannot locate at the moment), "mgmtdbs.db is not a valid database file" on
    starting the sybase database. Etc.
Long troubleshooting story short: it appears that the sybase.nlm application
cannot handle nss volumes that are large. In my case it fails if I try to
run it on a 3.6TB or 5TB volume, but succeeds if I run it on small volumes -
20GB to 65GB. Also the database was running fine on a 1.8TB volume - the
problems began when I virtualized the server (on ESX 3.5u4) and moved the
volume from direct-attached scsi storage to network-attached CoRAID (AoE)
storage AND expanded the volume to 3.6TB.
To test my theory I ran the database on two other servers and 3 other
volumes. In all cases success came when the hosting volume was small -
didn't matter if the host volume was direct attached or on a physical server
as opposed to a virtual server.
So if you are having inventory database problems, try moving the database to
volume that is small - I suspect the magic breaking point is 2TB which just
happens to be the maximum size of an NSS partition...and wasn't that also
the max size of an NSS volume sometime in the past? Maybe the sysbase
engineers were working in such an environment when they wrote the
nlm...after all it has been 4 years since it was last modified (I am running
v8.00.03, Nov 30 2005) and even longer since it was originally written.
Anyways, the reason it fails is not so important. There is a workaround and
a long term solution as well - move to ZCM 10.whatever-is-good ;-)

Isn't it funny how once unfathomable disk sizes are now not that unusual?
My guess is you are correct and if an SR was created on the issue Novell
would likey raise the matter to Sybase for investigation.
(Clearly this sounds as if its a bug and would be refunded.)
But I think it's unlikely that it would be fixed even if verified since the
    NLM is already so old.
While you have simple work-arounds, It is possible that the Windows and
Linux versions of Sybase that come with ZDM don't have this issue.

Hi Experts... I am a new to Oracle APPS trying to install Ebusiness suite in oracle enterprise linux ver 6,1 using oracle virtualbox.. and I am stuck with libdb-4.3.so for last 3 days.. searched google and bing, not able to find any information.Oracle EBS R12 is not certified yet with Linux 6 so please install a supported OS (see the docs before for the list) or check the certification matrix and try the installation then.
