"invitation emails couldn't be sent."

I have a 50m Keynote '09 file and I'm trying to share it on iWork.com. Here are the steps to repeat:
1) Edit the keynote file.
2) From the menu bar, click Share > Share via iWork.com...
3) Since this is an update - not a new file, choose the existing file from the "Copy to iWork.com as:"
4) The "Viewers:" box populates with all the people you've previously shared with. Currently I have 15 people. *[Note: My guess is that this is the issue -- too many people]*
5) Click the Share button. It generates the files and uploads it to iWork.com
6) After the long wait, I get the following error message:
*Invitation emails couldn't be sent.*
Try sharing the document again.
Note: It doesn't send the invitation email, but it does post the files on iWork.com. I have to visit the presentation on the web site, then copy/paste the unique link for each individual and then send separate emails to each person I'm sharing this file with.
Any ideas/workarounds?

Delete them out of the outbox after it tries to send them and fails.
As for unable to send, many places that host email don't like sending emails from off their network (doing so opens their servers up for others to spoof spam off their servers).

    There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage.   There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.
    I would just wait it out - I'm sure it will be sorted out soon.

    the email i wanted to send was to big. mail told me it couldn't be sent. where can i find it now. there is an autosave function, isn't it? please help! must send in 30 min....

    now i wrote it new and sent it again. guess what, mail sent two emails. the new one first and then i stopped sending the old version. now the new one is in the sentbox and the old one is in the outbox (before it wasn't there)!  ???

  • I am beginning to frequently get a message that an email could not be sent and to retry or cancel but all settings are correct and it usually sends a 2nd time

    Have been using Thunderbird for years and it has worked just fine. Have not made any changes to any of the settings. My boyfriend also used T'bird for years but last year it stopped sending messages and he finally had to stop using it. My T/bird is beginning to act the way his did. I will write a message and press send and then a window will open saying the message couldn't be sent and to retry or cancel. Usually a retry will work. Sometimes I get a message asking me to enter my password (I don't even think I have one or if I do I don't know what it is because I have never logged in to send email). So I'm worried that my T/bird program is beginning to fail like his did. I don't want to lose the use of the program and all my saved emails and addresses, mail groups, etc. My OS is Windows 7.

    That sounds exactly like an issue that has plagued McAfee users for around a year.
    Try disabling email scanning in your anti virus program.

    Please help me... I have read forum after forum and thread after thread to find a solution...
    When sending calendar invitations from iCal, they are sent with the old company name I used when installing my computer instead of the one I use today. So, the text I want to change in the email received by the invitee is "Thomas Dalebring - Humanor AB invited you to..." to "Thomas Dalebring - Predictio invited you to..."
    Of course, the current problem creates quite a few misunderstandings and now I cannot use iCal to send invitations anymore.
    I have tried changing my user profile in address book and changing my profile in the user accounts - but nothing works...
    Has anybody else had this issue? Please help!

    I FOUND the answer.
    Go to your Mail application. Select Preferences. Select Composing. CHANGE "Send new messages from" field to contain the email address you wish to be the sender.

    What happens with invites depends on whether the calendar is local or stored on calendar server or not.  For local calendars (those under "On My Mac") the sent items will go into the outbox on Mail while the internat connection is broken. For server based calendars (iCloud, Exchange, Google calendar and other CalDAV calendars) the server is sent a signal via your internet connection and the email is made and sent from the server.
    You are not going to be able to stop a server based calendar using the method you subscribe.
    For local calendars you might want to look at my application iCal Reply Checker. It is shareware, but runs for 10 days before needing to be paid for.

        I have  copied and modified the smart form bbp_output_cover for bid invitation (which has the email text and is sent as an email to vendors)...i need to know where i have to specify the form name in configuration .
       we are not supposed to enter the form name in define actions ....becoz this form is sending only the email notification to the vendors ...not the application document.
        i had implemented the badi BBP_CHANGE_SF_BID to change the form name
       Even then  system takes the std form name.

    Hello Radha,
    If you are using the  program "rsppfprocess" to send the outputs, then you have to customize the settings in the trasaction SPPFCADM. Please maintain the settings/changes and check again.

    I'm trying to setup Family sharing but the invite email doesn't arrive at the destination account.
    The account receives other emails and i've checked the Spam filter and virus checker.
    The source/host computer is an iMac running Yosemite. I can happily email from the iMac to the MacbookAir.
    Any suggestions or workarounds?

    I understand that you are having an issue with some of your Family Sharing members not receiving the email in order to join your Family Sharing group. You should first try to resend the invitation to this person, using the information in the article below:
    See if your family member accepted the invitation
    After you send the invitation, you can check its status under the person's name in Settings > iCloud > Family on your iOS device. On your Mac, go to Apple menu > System Preferences, click iCloud, and select Manage Family. Then select that person's name to see the status of the invitation. 
    If you need to resend the invitation, select "Resend Invitation."
    Join a family group
    You can accept or decline an invitation to join a family from you iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac.
    In iOS 8, go to Settings > iCloud > Invitations.
    In OS X Yosemite, choose Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud > Manage Family.
    If the invitation is sent to your email address, you can also respond right from your email.
    To accept an invitation, follow the onscreen instructions. Here's what you'll be asked to do when you join:
    Confirm your Apple ID and password.
    Choose if you want to share your content and which iTunes Store account you want to share from.
    Choose if you want to share your location. If you agree, your location can be displayed on family members’ devices in Find My Friends and Messages, and the location of your shared devices will also appear on family members’ devices in Find My iPhone.
    If you can't accept the invitation, see if someone else joined a family with your Apple ID or is sharing purchased content from your Apple ID. Remember, you can only join one family at a time, and you can only switch to a different family group once per year.

    I've been working on using HealthVault as a backend data store for patient data whereby the front end is a custom web interface, therefore I am making use of the Shell Redirect Interface. Currently I'm working on the scenario of initiating the share record
    workflow using the SHARERECORD target. However I would like that the invite email that is sent redirects the user to my custom interface first rather than directly to HealthVault. The idea is that when the user arrives at my web application from the invite
    link, my application would redirect to the shell interface where the user would continue as normal to create a HealthVault account and view the shared record.
    Ideally I would like to provide a url to the SHARERECORD redirect which would be embedded in the invite email. Otherwise another option would be to allow my application to collect and provide the recipient information to the HealthVault SHARERECORD redirect
    target.
    Would either of these be possible? If not, what method would you recommend of achieving the same result?

    The Shell Redirect Interface allows me to retain the patient orientated nature of HealthVault, so I am not worried about that part.
    I think I need to elaborate on the problem that I'm facing.
    SCENARIO
    When Tom goes to HealthVault and decides to share his record with Jane, Tom is presented with the HealthVault sharing screen where he will enter Jane's email address, an optional passcode, select which data types Jane will have access to etc. Currently when
    Tom hits the 'Send Invitation' button, an email is triggered to Jane which contains a link to HealthVault to either accept or reject the invite. 
    PROBLEM
    The existing method (described above) would result in a HealthVault email being sent to Jane, which redirects her to HealthVault. However when the Shell Redirect (SHARERECORD target) returns to my application, it does not provide any details about to whom
    the invite was sent to, therefore I cannot send my own email as suggested above (without prompting Tom to re-enter Jane's email address within my application, which wouldn't be a very good user experience).
    POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
    It is at this point that one of the following would be an ideal solution:
    The invitee's email address to be returned as the targetDetails when redirecting back to my application
    Be able to provide a link which will be embedded in the email that HealthVault sends to the invitee as part of the SHARERECORD redirect target
    Allow my application to collect some or all of the share information before providing it to the SHARERECORD redirect target
    I hope this makes the issue clearer

    No. it was deleted and the trash was emptied, there is no record of it. If it was never delivered to you, there is no record of it.
    Actually, there may be a record if it was actually delivered to you, but without a court order, you're probably not going to get access to those records.
    Unless you or the sender are terrorists or pedophiles, I doubt you're going to be able to get a court order for it.

    Go to: Apple > System Preferences > Universal Access and in the Seeing tab make sure that the Display Enhance contrast: is set to Normal.
    Alternatly, try holding the  ⌃⌥⌘ (control command alt) keys and then pressing the , (comma) key a few times.

    The system of setting up email alerts for Calendar events worked fine in Snow Leopard but since I upgraded to Mt. Lion Calendar won't let me set email alerts. When I try, I get an error message saying I need to set up a card in Contacts for my email. I have a card set up in Contacts for both of my email addresses but it doesn't recognize them. Perhaps the name I have on the card doesn't match a name that Calendar is looking for. Calendar doesn't seem to have a way in Preferences or elsewhere to indicate the email I want alerts sent to.
