Invitation script/Alert script

I've been searching high and low for a answer and I haven't been able to find anything that helps me so hopefully someone here will be able to help.
Here is the situation - My employer has me keep track of their appointments and I keep them on ical. However they are not mac users so we can't sync calenders or anything like that. I have been emailing reminders to them via invitations for their appointments.
My question is this, is there a way to change the script for the invitations to read as alerts instead of invites?

Put the employer's email address as one of the addresses on your card. Then set an email alarm on the event and select the employer's email address to receive the alarm.

    network-manager-applet should do the trick.  Personally, I use wicd.  Six of one, half dozen of the other...
    Now, about security.  There are three types you will encounter on 802.11:
    WEP : The original 802.11 protocol, cracking tools were developed years ago so it should not be considered as secure.  It does keep every iphone or android passing by from using your connection.  Connection can be handled directly by iwconfig by just setting a key.
    WPA, WPA2:  Much stronger encryption (WPA2 much more so ... it uses AES encryption)
    To deal with WPA encrypted links, take a look at and install wpa_supplicant.  It integrates with network manager.
    So with networkmanger, the aplet, and wpa_supplicant, your system should have an applet that tells you about the available networks, manages their pass keys, and allows you to associate with them.
    Is the Dlink router yours?  If so, you really should look at locking it down.  Use its management interface to set the password, change the ESSID, enable encryption (at least WEP).  If you are paranoid, go with WPA.  If you are really paranoid, hide the access point by disabling the ESSID broadcast (Although it will no longer show up on your scans)
    If you leave your access point open, you are just inviting script kiddies from using your connection for something you may not condone (spam, porn, music downloading, etc...)

  • Exchange calendar not allowing me to send meeting responses

    Hi
    Been using iphones with our SBS 2003 exchange server for a while now. I've gone from a 3G with V2 software to my current 3GS with 4.1. I think that the problem started when I got the 3GS with 4.1.
    Basically, everything works with exchange apart from one very annoying thing.
    If anyone sends me a calendar (meeting) invitation, it alerts me on the phone, allows me to see the meeting, but if I press accept, the phone ALWAYS says ' Calendar Invitation - Your response to the invitation cannot be sent'
    It then deletes the meeting from the phone!.
    Everything else seems to work, mail push, sending mail, creating contacts syncs with the work servers, I can also send out meeting invitations from my phone. It's just I can't respond to meetings i've received.
    Anyone else have this?
    Thanks
    Andy

    Has anyone considered/investigated the ActiveSync piece of the problem?  I'm in a corporate environment with iPhones, iPads, Androids, and Blackberries.  The only mobile device without problems are the BB's, which we run on a BES.  We also have Exchange2003 and find that both iOS and Android devices ALL have issues with calendaring, primarily recurring appointments/meetings.  The common denominator - MS ActiveSync.  I *did* hear a rumor that Exchange2010 might fix the problem.
    Well I'm in the same vote - we haven't investigated Android as of yet; however your notes are not promising for taking that road.

    I have iOS5.0 Beta 3 in testing and have duplicated the infamous error with regards to accepting meeting requests on behalf of someone (delagate) yet iOS STILL thinks that the meeting is for the person receiving the meeting request (EITHER in Mail or in Calendar). Oddly enough we CAN deny the meeting request - even in iOS 4.3.3.
    IOS was just updated today so I'll give it another go on Monday morning bright and early.
    I do have a working case with Apple tier3 and soon to work with their Enterprise team on this matter.

  • ERROR 1708 When using a script on a Text Invitation

    Whenever I use a script in Text Invitation- even if something as simple as "beep"- I receive an error that reads : Error : Error - 1708. The strange thing the script is executed successfully but I always get an error. I am using Version 4.0.2. Any ideas?

    It works now !
    Thanks Ralph, you put me on the right track to get it going when you mentioned the valid scripts existing in Library/Scripts/iChat.
    Here are the 4 scripts needed that you must put in your Home Library- Scripts- iChat folder.
    Open Script Editor in Applications/Applescript/Script Editor.app
    Copy and paste these scripts, one at a time, into Script Editor window, Compile and go Menu Bar- File- Save AS and change to the appropriate name in the iChat folder mentioned above.
    *iChat invited video.scpt* (Use this as title for this script)
    using terms from application "iChat"
    on received video invitation theText from theBuddy for theChat
    set status to away
    set status message to "In conference"
    end received video invitation
    end using terms from
    *iChat invited audio.scpt* (Use this as title for this script)
    using terms from application "iChat"
    on received audio invitation theText from theBuddy for theChat
    set status to away
    set status message to "In conference"
    end received audio invitation
    end using terms from
    *iChat started.scpt* (Use this as title for this script)
    using terms from application "iChat"
    on av chat started
    set status to away

  • Retrieve alert values for use as parameter in corrective action sql script

    I am trying to write a corrective action sql script to kill a session that is blocking other sessions. I have the "blocking session count" metric set and the alert is firing correctly.
    Is there any way to retrieve the sid and serial number from the alert generated and use it in a corrective action sql script?
    Here is the alert generated:
    Target Name=myproddb.world
    Target Type=Database Instance
    Host=myprodserver
    Metric=Blocking Session Count
    Blocking Session ID=SID: 522 Serial#: 5228
    Timestamp=Mar 4, 2008 5:57:12 PM EST
    Severity=Warning
    Message=Session 522 is blocking 1 other sessions
    Notification Rule Name=Testing Corrective actions
    Notification Rule Owner=sysman
    Clearly the sid, and serial # is contained within the alert Message field
    what I want to write for the sql script is :
    alter system kill session '%sid%,%serial_no%' immediate;
    and have GC pass in the sid and serial_no to the script.
    The "Target Properties" listed on the right of the Edit Corrective Action screen lists minimal details pertaining to the alert and certainly not the session sid, serial no.
    Generically, is there any way to retrieve the values from an alert and use them in a corrective action script or job?
    I've looked into getting the values from the mgmt$alert_history table, but I'm hoping that GC can pass the values to the sql script.
    thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi
    You can implementing a procedure like this.
    1. When a block session count alarms occurs, there is a column in the v$lock that you can examine.
    #!/bin/ksh
    #kill_block_session.sh
    #first export your variables
    export ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/product/10.2.0.3
    export ORACLE_SID=SIDNAME
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/sqlplus "/ as sysdba" << EOF
    execute immediate killed_blocks;
    EOF
    # end
    The killed_blocks is a procedure:
    create procedure
    declare
    v_sid varchar2(15);
    v_serial varchar2(15);
    -- now a sql query that retrieve the sid and serial
    -- you can obtain these values from v$session and v$lock
    select vs.sid,vs.serial into v_sid,v_serial
    from v$session vs,v$lock vl
    where vs.sid=vl.sid
    and vl.block >0
    -- After this, you execute a dbms_put line with these
    -- values
    But you understant that this response action is very dangerous, because its possible that you kill sessions that the blocking are transitient.
    You must examine your enviroment and your application and establish the metric like UDM and not for only session blocking count.
    You must to see:
    - The type of block
    - The ctime time in the v$lock for to understatn the amount of time to determine that the block is need killed.
    - In my opinion you need a special UDM and deactivate the blocking sesion count
    If you want help to create this UDM send me a mail to [email protected]
    Regards
    Robert

  • Script Alert: can't find .js files even though they're in the folder that the program looked in to?

    I'm new to the whole After Effects community and I am currently using it for a project.
    I followed a tutorial by Mt. Mograph on youtube and I downloaded the script "Ease and Wizz".
    I have it as a panel and all, but every time I attempt to apply my desired expression, a popup box says that there is a script alert and it can't find the file for the expression.
    Is there something that I'm doing wrong? I have tried to remove the script and download it again, but nothing has worked for me.

    Try to copy "easingExpressions" folder that came with the script into this folder:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2014\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels\

  • How to avoid missing font dialog box(alert) while running the script??

    Hi....
         In Illustrator CS4 ,I tried to skip missing font dialog box(alert box) by using the following  script .But,I could not skip the dialog box
    So if you have any suggestion about this let  me know..
    tell application "Finder"
      set user interaction level to never interact
        activate
        set fileName to (path to desktop folder as string) & "fer11757_f1208.eps"
        --set user interaction level to never interact
        --    set user interaction level of script preferences to never interact
        open file fileName
        --set alert missing fonts to true
        set user interaction level to never interact
        activate
    end tell
    display dialog ("completed")
    end tell
    Thanks,
    Mubeen

    Does this NOT error when run? Your target application here is 'Finder' Apple's system file browser and you are giving it Adobe illustrator commands?
    Im not 100% about the versioning with Illustrator installs I think they are all just…
    Tell application "Adobe Illustrator" -- No CS Versioning?
         -- do stuff here
    end tell
    you could check by just picking the app from this list
    choose application

  • Displaying an alert (Applescript or otherwise) from shell script?

    I have a point in a shell script where I'd like to put up an alert dialogue on a particular error condition. The script runs in the background and doesn't have a terminal window. I tried writing a little applescript that uses the applescript alert command and call it using osascript from my shell script, but it doesn't work. If I enter "osascript ~/myscript.scpt" in a terminal window, I get the error message "/Users/Ted/myscript.scpt: execution error:No user interaction allowed. (-1713)" (If I run myscript.scpt from the script editor it does what I want it to do.) Any ideas? I suppose I could have my shell script create a file in some folder and have my applescript be triggered as a folder action, but that seems pretty roundabout!

    Thanks -- I apologize for not doing a more thorough search! Yes, that comes very close to addressing my need, but I have run into one difficulty. If I run my shell script from the terminal (pasting it in) everything works fine. If I run it as a packaged app (with Platypus) everything works like it's supposed to, except that the alert applescript (it's just a one line script) briefly flashes the alert dialogue when it's supposed to and then dies, rather than waiting 10 seconds or until I click OK. I'll have to experiment and see if I can tell what's going on.

  • How to generate an alert box with some message by Apple Script after every user login

    Hi,
    I am looking into an automation where whenever a user comes and does a login on his/her mac. It should pop an alert message to him.
    I want to achieve this in applescript.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help!
    Abhishek

    Do you want it to run on any, unspecified user account? or specific users?
    If specific users, save the script as an application and save it in their Login Items.
    If you want all users then a hybrid AppleScript/shell script combo might be your best bet.
    Create a shell/AppleScript:
    #! /usr/bin/osascript
    tell application "Finder" to display dialog "welcome"
    Then create a launchd agent in
    /Library/LaunchAgents
    that will cause the script to load whenever any user logs in. Get yourself a copy of Lingon if you're not famiiar with creating launchd .plists

  • OWA email shows "script alert undefined" message

    I have an internet enabled Nokia E71. when I try accessing my (web based) microsoft outlook web app mail through the web on the phone, ie. by typing web address as 'https://owa.*****.org/owa' then on entering the username and password mail account opens for a second and there is a pop up notification which say 'script alert: Undefined' and on clicking OK, another screen opens which says 'You have succesfully logged off from outlook web app'.
    It worked up until we upgraded our Exchange Server in August! any ideas?

    Hi friends,
    I am using N79 and get the same error. I tried different browsers, finally opera did it.
    Download  "opera mobile 12 (S60)" and it works fine with the OWA in light version as like tablets.

  • CS3 "Script Alert" !?

    Hello !
    Using my (licenced and registered) Photoshop CS3 Extended to process my NEF files coming from my Nikon D300 never made a problem, ...till yesterday !
    It first opens under Bridge CS3 (as usual) to be able to roughly tune the exposure, light and general contrast if needed and then arrives into Photoshop CS3 itself by clicking "ok".
    It is at that very moment that I get a message on screen.
    Here is the text:
    "Script Alert ! Nikon Corporation, Nikon D300 was used to shoot this file."
    This being followed with the usual "OK" button to go on (and it goes on without any problem).
    Why do I get this message each time ?
    How can I do in order to prevent this message to appear each time I open a (Nef) file made with the D300 ?
    Did some of you experience this before ?
    Thanks a lot for your help and kind cooperation !
    PS: I made a trial with a Nef File from my other Nikon (D200) and the problem does NOT happen ! I don't understand...

    Hello !
    I am the kind of guys who want to understand the "why" of a situation, and as I mentionned in the beginning of my thread, it is the main reason why I asked this question in this place.
    Thanks to all who tried to guide me and help me with the "problem" I had.
    Before doing a reinstall of the software, which is indeed the easiest way to solve many encountered problems, I looked a bit further ...and finally found the "why" of this recurrent alert message !
    It is just one line in the msconfig !
    >Start >Execute "msconfig", then "OK"
    In the new window select the colum "starting programs" (or "start") and you will find in the list just one line which has to be desactivated under the name of "Nikon Monitor".
    Apply and restart the computer ...the Script Alert won't appear any longer !!
    Happy I found, I really feel better :o)
    Hope this will eventually also help other users of Photoshop CS3 Extended who encountered the same problem !

  • Script Alert: "Sorry I could not process the following files" (Error Message using Image Processor)

    I'm a seasoned Photoshop/Bridge CS5 user who recently upgraded to CS6.  In Bridge I just ran my first Image Processor batch, trying to convert a set of RAW .NEF files to .PSD files with a basic editing action I created applied to them.  Photoshop CS6 opens the files from Bridge and applies the actions, but then I get the "Script alert" error message "Sorry I could not process the following files" and a list of all of the files in the batch I was trying to run the script on.  The files all remain open and are saved on my hard drive in a folder created by the Image Processor script, but do not close unless I manually close them.  I never had this problem in CS5 where the image processor would apply the desired actions to the batch of photos one at a time, then save and close.  Thoughts on how I can fix this bug?

    Hey Jeff--
    No specific action steps to make the image safe - no flattening, etc. Had problems narrowing down the specific action step causing the problem. So I ran the Image Processor script in the ExtendScript ToolKit and debugged in. (I'm using the version that shipped with CS4.)
    Turns out what was happening is that the app.activeDocument.close() command on line 1490 was never getting called, because the this.SaveFile() above it was throwing an exception. More debugging got me to the problem - SaveFile() tries to restore the history state after making a doc safe for saving as a JPEG. This causes an exception. So I commented out line 1571:
    // app.activeDocument.ativeHistoryState = historyState;
    The script runs just fine after this. I commented out the close to see what history states got added to the doc, but no new states are recorded, so commenting out the restore line should not cause any problems.
    Of course, my solution does not solve the problem and I may need to comment out all the saveFile() lines that does this. Not sure why some actions have this problem and others don't. The actions I am running have about 25 steps. Perhaps PS is not catching up quick enough. I added a $.sleep(2500) after the restore history but that didn't help.
    So, not sure where this gets us. I will check about posting an action set with just one of the actions that cause the problem. But I may also have our customer comment out that line of the Image Processor script.
    Hope this helps. May post more next week.

  • Script Alert "You should only run scripts from a trusted source."

    I created a small javascript which opens Photoshop and resizes some images.
    I want to be able to double-click the .JSX file from Windows Explorer, and have Photoshop execute the script. Likewise, I want to be able to run the .JSX file from the command line.
    The script runs perfectly. However, the problem is that I don't want any user interaction. I want to be able to run the script from the command line without the user having to click anything. What happens now when I try to run the file from Windows Explorer of the command line is, I get a Script Alert with the following text:
    You are about to run a script in Adobe Photoshop CS3. You should only run scripts from a trusted source. Do you want to run the script? Yes/No
    Is there any possible way to bypass this message or to answer in the affirmative?
    Thanks,
    Jamie L.

    Hi... Sorry to revive such an old thread,
        Does anyone know the "trusted source" folder for MAC CS4.
    EDIT!
    My bad.  "The /users/<user_name>/documents/Adobe Scripts" folder is working for this purpose for me.  I needed a path to it and forgot that the ~ resolves to the current user.  Sweet.

  • INSERT Script stored as "SQL Statement Script" not firing on Oracle Alert

    We are using Alert Manager to run Alerts based on absence information in EBS R12.1.3 HR tables.
    Application: Human Resources
    Period/Event: Periodic
    Frequency: Every Day
    The Alert has 2 actions.
    One is to email a supervisor based on the Alert SQL finding staff who have had x number of absences over a set period of time.
    That is working fine.
    The other action is defined as an "SQL Statement Script".
    The SQL script inserts the variables defined in the SQL from the main Alert definition SQL, into a custom table.
    When the Alert fires, we are getting the email generated, but the INSERT statement isn't firing.
    However, when we look at the result of the Alert when it has run, and look at the steps which were fired, we can see the email step and the SQL step. When we look at the SQL in the SQL step which was generated, we can copy and paste it direct into TOAD and it works fine.
    We have tried a simple SQL INSERT statement which even just does:
    INSERT INTO xx_tmp (VALUE1_DATE, VALUE2) VALUES (SYSDATE, 'this');
    But even that does not work.
    We wonder if the issue is that we cannot do a direct INSERT from an alert type of "SQL Statement Script"?
    We have found another Alert which does a direct UPDATE on a table, but the SQL Statement Script definition has "Purchasing" as the Application, because it's updating a PO table.
    In our case, we're trying to insert into a custom table held in our in-house XX schema.
    Could the problem be that we don't have the "Application" set? If that's the case, we don't have a corresponding application anyway.
    Or can we not do a direct INSERT like this - do we need to use a package instead, and call that?
    Any advice much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Brian,
    Alert issue - Custom SQL fix
    1. Define actions via "Actions" button on Alert Definition
    2. Create an action for e.g. "Send Message to Supervisor"
       Action type: message
       Action - sends email to people
    3. Create another action called e.g. "Insert Record"
       Action type: SQL Statement Script
       Fill in SQL in the "Text" section, no need to add a begin or end bit, just a simple INSERT INTO X etc ending with a semi colon
    4. Back on the main alert definition window, go to "Action Sets" button
       Here, need one SEQ for the Message / Email (e.g. Seq 1), and then click on "Action Set Details" and click on "Members" tab and select the "Send Message to Supervisor" Action
       Then close the "Action Set Details" window, and return to the "Action Sets" window
       click into 2nd line, add e.g. Seq 2, and call it e.g. "Insert Record", click on "Action Set Details" > Members tab and select the "Insert Record" The problem was that in the first instance, we had a single Action Set, and under "Members" had selected the "Send Message to Supervisor" and "Insert Record" at the same time.
    Short answer: each Action needs to be defined as a separate line in the Action Sets definition.
    I can send screenshots if you need them, and don't mind putting your email address on this forum.
    You can always edit the thread after I've emailed you, to remove your email address.
