InvocationTargetException in AXIS deployment

I am trying to deploy a web service. I can successfully deploy if the remote interface method definition is like this.
public interface SoapServer extends java.rmi.Remote {
public int addDevice(String in0) throws java.rmi.RemoteException;
but If I change the method definitation of this
public interface SoapServer extends java.rmi.Remote {
public int addDevice(Device in0)throws java.rmi.RemoteException;
Here you can see the argument is changed to a user define class. All classes are in same package and while deploying the serverc I am getting the following errors.

    Hi,
    I am trying to invoke a Axis webservice(from Java class to WSDL- bottom up java bean webservice approach) developed in Exclipse IDE, deployed in Tomcat.

    I may add that, the WSDL generated is using "soap:enc:array ", rpc style.
    Can anyone tell me the reason and suggest .

    Hi Marc,
    Thanks for the guidancer. But sir, i am unable to detect at which place i have to do the required changes.I found p_request as a parameter in the method only in the interface only.
    As bcos ultimately , i am generating the tomcat /axis web service (WSDL) from the java class, which is using 2 Request and response java bean, in which they are doing someing like this:
    private static org.apache.axis.description.TypeDesc typeDesc =
    new org.apache.axis.description.TypeDesc(LoanDataPersistRequest.class, true);
    static {
    typeDesc.setXmlType(new javax.xml.namespace.QName("http://dtos.demo.com", "LoanDataPersistRequest"));
    org.apache.axis.description.ElementDesc elemField = new org.apache.axis.description.ElementDesc();
    elemField.setFieldName("customerName");
    elemField.setXmlName(new javax.xml.namespace.QName("", "customerName"));
    elemField.setXmlType(new javax.xml.namespace.QName("", "string"));
    elemField.setNillable(true);
    etc etc...................}
    And second thing is when the WSDL is generated, from that the stubs and skeletons is generated to test the service.
    There in the Stub i found out "p_request" in this place:
    private static void _initOperationDesc1(){
    org.apache.axis.description.OperationDesc oper;
    org.apache.axis.description.ParameterDesc param;
    oper = new org.apache.axis.description.OperationDesc();
    oper.setName("storeLoanData");
    param = new org.apache.axis.description.ParameterDesc(*new javax.xml.namespace.QName("", "p_request")*, org.apache.axis.description.ParameterDesc.IN, new javax.xml.namespace.QName("http://dtos.demo.com", "LoanDataPersistRequest"), com.demo.dtos.LoanDataPersistRequest.class, false, false);
    oper.addParameter(param);
    oper.setReturnType(new javax.xml.namespace.QName("http://dtos.demo.com", "LoanDataPersistResponse"));
    oper.setReturnClass(com.demo.dtos.LoanDataPersistResponse.class);
    oper.setReturnQName(new javax.xml.namespace.QName("", "storeLoanDataReturn"));
    oper.setStyle(org.apache.axis.constants.Style.RPC);
    oper.setUse(org.apache.axis.constants.Use.ENCODED);
    _operations[0] = oper;
    And in skeleton :
    static {
    org.apache.axis.description.OperationDesc _oper;
    org.apache.axis.description.FaultDesc _fault;
    org.apache.axis.description.ParameterDesc [] _params;
    _params = new org.apache.axis.description.ParameterDesc [] {
    new org.apache.axis.description.ParameterDesc(*new javax.xml.namespace.QName("", "p_request")*, org.apache.axis.description.ParameterDesc.IN, new javax.xml.namespace.QName("http://dtos.demo.com", "LoanDataPersistRequest"), com.demo.dtos.LoanDataPersistRequest.class, false, false),
    oper = new org.apache.axis.description.OperationDesc("storeLoanData", params, new javax.xml.namespace.QName("", "storeLoanDataReturn"));
    _oper.setReturnType(new javax.xml.namespace.QName("http://dtos.demo.com", "LoanDataPersistResponse"));
    _oper.setElementQName(new javax.xml.namespace.QName("urn:com.demo.service", "storeLoanData"));
    _oper.setSoapAction("");
    myOperationsList.add(oper);
    if (_myOperations.get("storeLoanData") == null) {
    _myOperations.put("storeLoanData", new java.util.ArrayList());
    ((java.util.List)_myOperations.get("storeLoanData")).add(_oper);
    PLease suggest if i make some changes in stub and skeleton how it would reflect the WSDL... or else please suggest where shud i do the required changes.

  • Axis deployment endpoint

    Hi,
    I had created a .wsdd file and use AdminClient to deploy the webservice on my web server. The problem is that after deployment i could not get the wsdl endpoint address to point to my web server's domain hostname(e.g. www.domain.com:8080), it always generate the host 'localhost'.
    I had tried
    java -cp %axisclasspath%;. org.apache.axis.client.AdminClient -lhttp://www.domain.com:8080/axis/services/MyService deploy.wsdd
    but it gave me "(401)unauthorized". Am i missing something? Had been experimenting and searching for clues but in vain.. How do you change the endpoint?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Stanly

    Your command is probably correct but the AdminService doesn't (by default) allow remote administration of web services.
    If you need remote access to the AdminService you have to change the configuration in your server-config.wsdl in the webapp. See http://ws.apache.org/axis/java/user-guide.html under the section "Remote Administration" for a description on what to change.
    BTW, the server-config.wsdl was not present in WEB-INF in the distribution that I used (axis 1.0) so I had to manually exctract the file from the axis.jar and place it under WEB-INF.

  • AXIS - deploying services implemented as dynamic proxy.

    I have web services defined in interfaces Service1, Service2, Service3 deployed using a deploy.wsdd that contains the class names Impl1, Impl2, Impl3 that implements their respective interfaces.
    What I want to do now is to replace Impl1, Impl2, Impl3 with instances of dynamic proxy classes that I will create using my factory.
    I just want to tell Axis something like:
    Implement each service by calling
    Class MyFactory.getImpl(Class serviceInterface).
    How can I tell Axis to do that?

  • Axis Deploy Problem

    Hi everybody!
    I am new to webservices and therefore I am trying to deploy an example webservice using Axis' Admin Client.
    Here is the statement I am trying to execute:
    java -cp %AXISCLASSPATH% org.apache.axis.client.AdminClient -l http://localhost/
    axis/services/AdminService SimpleDVDStoreDeploy.wsddAXISCLASSPATH looks this way:
    c:\axis\lib\axis.jar;c:\axis\lib\commons-discovery.jarUnfortunately I am always getting the following exception:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: axis/org/apache/axis/
    client/AdminClientCan anyone help me?
    I am really stuck! :(
    Thanks in Advance!

    Of course the exception looks like:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: /org/apache/axis/

    Hi Raminder,
    The Usage of JWS for deploying WEB Services is very much restricted. Here are some of the restrictions of JWS files.
    1. you can't use a package declaration inside a JWS files.
    2. you can't use/refer any other Beans/Classes, since it requires definition of BeanMapping for the beans you are going to use.
    3. you can't use/refer a class inside the same JWS file (like what you did below), since it will try to declare the complex type for your bean in the defaultnamespace, which doesnt exist.
    Check your generated WSDL for the CompanyWS.jws file, you can see that the targetNameSpace for the Company type is defaultNameSpace which doesn't exist. you can reproduce this if you try to generate the client stubs using WSDL2Java. The generated ClientStubs will be pointing to DefaultNameSpace.Company (which will not be there).
    So, If you need flexibility and if you would like to leverage most of complex features of AXIS WS, then I strongly suggest you to use AXIS Deployment Descriptor (WSDD) for deploying Web Services. If you encounter any problems in implementing your scenario using WSDDs

              I can't for the life of me figure out why this would work on deployment,
              but not on redeployment, and then only on one of the two managed
              serevrs. Any ideas?

    Hi,
    SharePoint designer may have limited capability on this, you may need to create your workflow using a code.
    If you are using a visual studio workflows, you may try to:
    Set the IgnoreIfAlreadyExists="False" and ReplaceContent="True" for the WF XAML and Assocaition file in the Elements.xml
    Then update the solution with update-spsolution command.
    If the workflow changes are not effective, then re-activate the feature on the site.
    If should you need help to creating the source codes, you may try to open an advisory ticket regarding this issue.
    Best Regards,
    Lisa Chen

    Hi Lenna,
    You might take a look at the SOAPBuilders interop tests.
    See: http://www.whitemesa.com/r3/interop3.html and notice the DocLit

    Our endpoints are http://webservice.bea.com:7001 and the code for the
    client and servers can be located here:

    The good folks with WS-I have spent many cycles on interop issues. You

    Can anyone point me to a place where i can look for information ?i am on weblogic

    I see in examples that DOM Documents may also be passed as parameters(inand out)

    Hi Chandra,
    One of the reason for this problem could be that
    your LDAP server has got corrupted. To verify that
    if possible, try to deploy this in any other
    instance of application server pointing to a
    different LDAP.
    Another reason could be, problem with your
    build.xml file. Did you build this myapp.ear
    from scratch or did you use the build.xml from
    one of our sample application?
    If you have used one of our sample application
    build.xml, there is a high possibility that
    you might not have changed the name of your
    application in one of the entries.
    Thank you

  • Implementing a Webservice with AXIS, which calls CORBA objects

    Hi @all!
    First my aim is it to invoke a Webservice by a Client. As toolkit for developing this Webservice I use AXIS 1.0. This Webservice in turn should establish a CORBA connection to a third application.
    A direct access to the CORBA objects without the AXIS Webservice works fine. The Webservice without the Corba access is also running errorfree.
    When trying to implement a Webservice with AXIS, which calls CORBA objects following fault was generated:
    "internal Server Error(500)".
    Are there known problems with AXIS in conjunction with CORBA?

    Okay here's the error log file:
    1000 of lines, which aren't very helpful for me.
    As ORB I use JacORB.

    Yael.

    Yael, you have found there a great tutorial and I do not see you I could give you a more detailed approach than the one found in this "Axis Hello World Example".
    The only step I think is useless is the first one in the Eclipse walk through, for the rest, just follow the steps and you will end up with a running web service and a running client.
    I notice you have not followed the tutorial already: your project is named "axis" and not "axis-ws-service" or "axis-ws-client".
    Maybe start over and follow the steps this time?

  • Deploying PAR Archive

    Hello,
    i've just written an extension for the EP Navigation to integrate an other application.
    Everything works fine, but when i restart the Portalserver i have to deploy the PAR archive again to get the new navigation entry.
    Can anyone help me, what i need to do, so that the extension loads automatically by server start?
    Thanks

  • Exception while accessing web service through code

    I have a web service developed using AXIS deployed on Weblogic 8.1
    Another web application cotaining GUI deployed on Weblogic 10 tries to access this web service through code.
    This piece of code to invoke the web service is written in Action Class present inside web application. (Struts is used in GUI based web app)
    When the code tries to invoke web service I am getting following error.

    When I try to hit the webservice URL directly on browser login window appears where same username/password I provide which are passed in code to invoke the web service. I get the success page indicating that web service is invoked on hitting enter.
    The method used in UCS77_1ProcessOfficialChangeSaveDetailsAction.java to invoke web service is as follows:

    Both the weblogic server reside on two different AIX machines.
    Can anybody tell what's the problem while invoking web service through code?

    time to look into the gateway logs as stated by the fault ..

  • Async BPEL Process Invocation...

    We have a business process, which when invoked from BPEL console works fine, however, when we invoke it from an web application of ours, it does gets initiated, but fails later.
    We have Apache Axis deployed in the same OC4J server as the Oracle BPEL PM(10.1.2.0.2), which exposes few EJBs as SOAP Services.
    The Business Process invokes couple of SOAP Services and then creates a Task and then waits for task completion and based on task action invokes two other SOAP services.
    When we invoke it from the BPEL Console, everything works fine. It also works fine, if we invoke it first (after startup) from BPEL Console and then through our web application.
    However, if we invoke it first through our web application, then it does initiates, but fails at the Task creation. If we try to hit the BPEL Console, we get this error

    An unexpected error has occurred while executing your request. This is most likely related to a defect in the Oracle BPEL Process Manager product. We apologize you can post the error to the OTN forum and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
