Invoice date different from GL date

I have several invoices where the GL Date is different from the Invoice Date. For example, the Invoice Date is 10-JUN-2002 and the GL Date is 01-JUL-2002. In all the invoices from another month, the Invoice Date is equal to GL Date. Anyone knows how can I fix this problem? Thanks

I think this problem is not a problem.
The date must be changed by the preparer

GL date different from Payment Date

Dear All,
I got problem related to Oracle Payables. I wonder how this happen. The problem appears as below:
In practices, GL Date will default to be same as Payment Date. Suddently the GL date had changed to 1st dec (which is suppose to be 4th Nov). I had checked one payments at TEST instant, GL Date & Payment Date are same (eg: Payment date=04-NOV-2008, GL Date=04-NOV-2008). However, when check the same payment at PROD instant, GL Date previously generated on 4-NOV-2008 had changed to 1st Dec 2008.
Is it possible to change back the date to the original date which is the Payment Date?

Just to share explanation received from Metalink FYI;
A : As per standard functionality, once the transactions are sweeped to next period the date will also change to 1st day of next open period. So if the invoices for which the GL date has changed in production are the one which were found in unaccounted transaction report during period closure process, then this is intended functionality.
Q : Is it possible if we disable the function, so that the GL Date will not change to next open period when sweep activity is done.
A : The reason for including this functionality is to facilitate the period end closure process even when all the transactions are not complete in AP. The system warns you to either correct and complete the transactions in current or Sweep them to next period. If you disable this feature you cannot close the period as unless you complete all the transaction in Payables. This is not advisible. Rest would be the business decision.

App launch date different from apperance date - help !

I have just searched and trawled through the forum and am unable to find a post regarding the launch date of an app being different from its actual appearance on the store.
My app launched yesterday 20th August but the date showing is the 14th August(date of submission) - hence it has not appeared in the new apps list - this is a little frustrating as it immediately receives no "free" publicity for a few hours whilst it is on the list of new applications.
Has anyone else experienced this yet? - as I seem to remember seing a post regarding tjis issue but cannot find it anymore. I have emailed the dev email and will await a reply but thought the collective knowledge of this forum may be able to help!

PA date different from GL date in cost distribution lines all table

Setup is "maintain common pa and gl periods" is NOT checked, system profile option 'PA: Enable Enhanced Period Processing' is set to 'Yes'. and expenditure cycle start date is Monday. Converting costs back to 2001, all periods, both PA and GL are open. Using Sundays in the last FULL week of the month as the expenditure date, get matching PA and GL dates for all conversion costs prior to 2008. 2008 costs are all coming in with a PA date of 01-oct-2008. Why is 2008 acting differently than prior to 2008?

Hi
I suggest you check again the atatus of your PA periods for the 2008 year.
From the results I would have suspected all PA periods between Jan and Sep 2008 are closed.

How to set DB date different from Host date?

DBAs,
I've got a requirement to have 1 database in sync with a development region of the mainframe. This date is 2 months in the past. Is it possible to have the database have a different date/time than the OS time on the unix server? One option (more expensive) is for the db to have it's own server (or vmware) where we just reset the OS time. We're on 9i on aix.

In my Oracle 7(.0) days, there was, if I am not mistaken, an database parameter for setting a default date, but I have no idea if this is still possible...Checked the 7.3 manuals, but can't find anything, that triggers my mind. Can be that it is still around, but in that case probably went underground (became an hidden / _$ parameter). By the way, this is a typical question for the oracle-l forum on www.freelists.org

When i do scheduling the planned order,
production finish date differs from basic finish date in backward scheduling as below.
Scheduling: Backward
Basic finish date : 2010.01.22
Basic start date : 2010.01.21
Production finish date : 2010.01.23 09:00:00
Production start date ; 2010.01.22 03:57:09
*GR time : 0.
*Scheduling Margin key : 0.
I don't know why production finish date set in 2010.01.23 09:00. ( Basic finish date +1 day)

1) what is the parameter used in MRP run, Basic scheduling or lead time scheduling
2) you must find a exception Mssg for that plan order in MD04
3) basic scheduling take the time from material master & lead time scheduling will take time

when for the above ods and the data source when trying to delete the request whole data got delted.
All the data got deleted in the fore ground. no background job has been generated for this.

Hi,
I suppose you want to know the possibilitiy of getting the data.
If the entire data is being deleted, you can reload the data from source system.
Load the setup table for your application. Then carry out init request.
Please note that you would have to take a transaction-free period for carrying out this activity so that no data is missed.
Once this is done, delta queues will again start filling up.

Display only data different from the previous row

I will use a simple example to explain what I would like to do with a query.
I have a table 'test' with 4 columns (col1, col2, col3, col4).
The table 'test' contains the following data:

K F G HI would like to create a query ordered on the first column with the following result:

K        HOnly data that are different from the previous row have to be displayed.
Do you have ideas on how to do this.

Order GI date different from Delivery Planned GI date

Hi Gurus, I noticed on one order-delivery that the order's GI date (in the schedule line) is different from the delivery's planned GI date. What could be the cause of that?

System is nowhere stopping to change the planned GI date in billing. If orders schedule date is say 15.10.2007, i can change the planned GI date to 16.10.2007 and so the billing date also.

Determining Date Range from Pay Date Information

I have a table of employees with different pay dates because they are college interns and they leave at different dates, so their most recent pay date will be different. I have created a query to find the most recent pay date. The pay periods are bi-weekly.
I have a table called tblPayPeriods with all of the pay dates. I have created a query that pulls the most current pay date for each intern and I want to match that pay date to the pay date of the Pay Periods table and increment back twenty pay periods.
Once I have determined the oldest pay date I want to use that range for a calculation for average hours ultimately. I can handle the average hours part but I'm having trouble with the pay dates part of this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You want to match that LPD to the pay date of the Pay Periods table...
** so the first question is - are you able to? what is the obstacle on this?
and increment back twenty pay periods
** is there a fixed math you can rely on, such as subtract 180 days?...will that work to determine the pay date 20 periods previously? it would be great if the pay periods had a sequential integer in their record - - - that would make it easy....

Date deviates from Due Date range??

Hi All,
When i'm trying to add a back dated A/R Invoice, I'm getting an error message that the date deviates from the due date range. I have selected the appropriate posting period for this and also have checked the document numbering. In the Journal entry, i can see that the due date is 02/04/09 where as in the A/R Invoice, i have given the due date as 29/03/09. Now is this the reason for this error? Any suggestions??

Double check your period setting, Due Date From and To must cover the Due date for the document you are posting. Document Date From and To range should be good too.

Data from multiple data sources which are logically related and technicall have the same key can be combined into single record.
For example, if you have Sales order item and sales order item status .
These both have the same key - sales order and item and are logically related.
The Sales order item - provides information on Sales order item - material , price, quantity, plant etc.
The item status - povides information on delivery status, billing status, rejection status....
These are two different data sources 2LIS_!1_VAITM ad 2LIS_11_VASTI.
In case you have few master data attributes coming from different systems ie tow data sources in different systems say completely defines your master data. Then you could use a DSO or infoobject to combine the records.
If you want to see aggregated data you use a cube.
ie say you want to analyzae the customer revenue on a particular material and a particular project.
The project details would come from Project syatem and Sales details fom sales flow.
The data is then combined in the DSO with key cutomer and sales area say.
Then it is aggregated at cube level...by not using sales order in the cube model...so all sales order of the same customer would add while loading the cube.. to give direct customer spend values for your sales area at aggregated level.

In my saturation, my program's data are come from difference data source. For example, the program will retrieve PO balance, material consumption, future consumption and so on. In my program logic, i retrieve all of the material number, the retrieve the PO balance, material consumption... into internal table, then loop the internal table of material number and update this table from internal table of po balance, material consumption..., but i found that the program's running time is long. How to improve the performance or any suggestion for the program logic. Thanks.

Few Guildlines:
1. program is slow mainly because Database load is too high, try to reduce it and that load can be shared by ABAP. gotrhough SE30-perfromance tuning.
Also, in Se30 u will get all most important Tips and tricks, follow it,...
2. Try to find out summary table and dont try always to get data from basic tables.
3. Try to use perfect SELECT statemetn with porper joins, which is most important in reduction of load on DB.
4. you can make ABAP part faster, following coding standard like use of Binary search.
5. Use SLIN to find out which part of program is taking too much time, try to reduce it.

My requirement is to get the data in a perticular intervals of posting date.
Directly we can create a variable with interval on posting Date to have the required data but Here we need two have two varibles because in one varibale user enters posting date and in second variable user enters any number like 1,2,3....etc
Let's say user enetered posting date as 30.08.2010 in the first variable and number 4 in the second variable.
Finally out put range should be calculted from entred posting date 30.08.2010 date to four days back
i.e output should be appear in the report from 27.08.2010 to 30.08.2010.
My question i can create first avariable on posting Date but where shoud i create the second variable on which field.
Please help me on this..points will be awrded.

Selecting Variables
1.      Choose Show ® Variables.
2.      Under Type, select the variable type (such as Characteristic Value Variable, Hierarchy Node Variable) from which you want to select the variable.
3.      Select one (or, in exceptional cases, more than one) variable from the list of available variables in the left window and add them (using the right arrow) to the right Selection window.
Selecting Variable Value Range Limits
1.      Choose Show ® Value Ranges.
2.      Select your required operator from the dropdown box. You can choose from the following operators:
○       Between
○       Less Than or Equal to
○       Greater Than or Equal to
○       Less Than
○       Greater Than
3.      Select the required value or values for the value range and choose . The input help appears in a new dialog box and displays the selection of variables under Show ® Variables.
4.      Under Type, select the variable type (such as Characteristic Value Variable, Hierarchy Node Variable) from which you want to select the variable.

6.      For the Between operator, two single values are required for the interval limits; the system automatically displays two dropdown boxes. In this case, repeat steps 3-5.
