Moving LCM Jobs from one LCM server to another

I have just built a new proof of concept LCM server (3.1 SP3 FP3.7). My aim is to migrate the content from our current production LCM server (3.1 SP2 FP2.5) to the POC LCM server. I have been able to migrate the subversion repository. I have been able to migrate custom access levels and users etc.
I want to migrate the actual LCM jobs stored within LCM itself from production LCM to POC LCM server. Should be able to do this with LCM itself or Import Wizard but neither work.
Import Wizard produces and error against each LCM Job as follows, "Failed to create a new CrystalEnterprise.LCMJob. reason: Item SI_NEWOBJECT was not found in the collection"
LCM itself does not show the LCM jobs when adding objects to a job. It will show the Sub Folders under the main LCM folder (which contain the specific jobs I'm looking to migrate) but not the jobs themselves. Selecting one of the sub LCM folders and clicking the "Add & Close" button results in this error;

More than one application server offer ENQ service

Dear Gurus
We have a problem in SICK Transaction in 4.6 b server contanining 3 instances .
" more than one application server offer ENQ service"
When 2 instances are stopped and run the SICK transaction for one instanse found no error
but when other instance are up and checked with SICK it gives above error message.
The profile errors as follows
rdisp/enqname is not identified identically on all servers
rdisp/enqname ( mk04_P12_00 ) on server mk04_P12_00
rdisp/enqname ( mk04_P11_01 ) on server mk04_P11_01

That means you have 2 instances running an enque process, even tho this is possible i don't think is meant to be in your system... you need to check why?
Check that parameter rdisp/wp_no_enq is not set in one of the application servers.

I have a question on the second case. When the client doesn't care of which
Tuxedo domain it is hitting. What happens if one of the Tux domain is down ? What
happens to the client request to that domain ?
Another question is lets say i have a Tuxedo configuration as MP mode( Multi
machine mode) how does WTC load balance between the Tuxedo domains.

Modifying form on unix server using Form Builder installed on Windows deskt

We are using Oracle Applications hosed on unix servers. There is a custom form in XXX_TOP/forms/US folder that I need to modify. My Windows desktop has Forms Builder 10g installed. I ftpied fmb file over from unix server to my Windows desktop and tried opening it. I get an error FRM-18108: Failed to load the following objects: APPSTAND, etc etc. Obviously I am not doing it right. What is the correct way of modifying a form file sitting on unix server, using Forms Builder installed on Windows desktop? Do I need to copy all dependant objects to Windows desktop along with fmb file? Thank you in advance.

You will also need all of the .plb and .fmb found in the AU_TOP/Resources, however, if you modify an Oracle provided Form you will loose all support from Oracle for that Form and anytime you apply an upgrade or patch, you will loose the changes if the upgrade/patch involves the modified form. There are only 2 approved ways to modify an Oracle supplied EBS form. First is by using the CUSTOM.PLL library and the second is by using Forms Personalization (FP). I strongly recommend you persue using the CUSTOM.pll or FP. If neither of these options will provide the functionality you need - CALL ORACLE SUPPORT before you modify any files.

I need to make wsdl web service call in my weblogic app server. The web service is provided by a 3rd party vendor. I keep getting error
Cannot complete the certificate chain: No trusted cert found
Certificate chain received from ws-eq.demo.xxx.com - xx.xxx.xxx.156 was not trusted causing SSL handshake failure
Validation error = 16
From the SSL debug log, I can see 3 verisign hierarchy certs are correctly loaded (see 3 lines in the log message starting with “adding as trusted cert”). But somehow after first handshake, I got error “Cannot complete the certificate chain: No trusted cert found”.
Here is how I load trustStore and keyStore in my java program:

Because my program is a weblogic app server, when I start the program, I have java command line options set as:
-Dweblogic.security.SSL.trustedCAKeyStore=SSLTrust.jks
-Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostnameVerification=true
-Dweblogic.security.SSL.enforceConstraints=strong
That SSLTrust.jks is the trust certificate from our web server which sits on a different box. In our config.xml file, we also refer to the SSLTrust.jks file when we bring up the weblogic app server.
In addition, we have working logic to use some other wsdl web services from the same vendor on the same SOAP server. In the working web service call flows, we use clientgen to create client stub, and use SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter to load trustStore and keyStore, and then bind the SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to the webSerive client object and make the webservie call. For the new wsdl file, I am told to use wsimport to create client stub. In the client code created, I don’t see any way that I can bind SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to the client object, so I have to load certs by settting system pramaters. Here I attached the the wsdl file.
I have read many articles. It seems as long as I can install the verisign certs correctly to web logic server, I should have fixed the problem. Now the questions are:
1.     Do I create “cacerts” the correct order with right keeltool options?
2.     Since command line option “-Dweblogic.security.SSL.trustedCAKeyStore” is used for web server jks certificate, will that cause any problem for me?
3.     Is it possible to use wsimport to generate client stub that I can bind SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to it?
4.     Do I need to put the “cacerts” to some specific weblogic directory?

I received a workaround by an internal message.
The how to guide is :
-Download the wsdl file (with bindings, not the one from ESR)
-Correct it in order that the schema corresponds to the answer (remove minOccurs or other things like this)
-Deploy the wsdl file on you a server (java web project for exemple). you can deploy on your local
-Create a new logicial destination that point to the wsdl file modified
-Change the metadata destination in your web dynpro project for the corresponding model and keep the execution desitnation as before.
Then the received data is check by the metadata logical destination but the data is retrieved from the correct server.

Invoking a scenario using web service

Hi Experts,
Could anyone pls suggest how to pass variables from SOAP to ODI 11g(11.1.1.6.3)
Here we are using wsdl utility to invoke a scenario using web service and trying to pass a variable like the below
The scenario is triggered successfully without passing a parameter.
But when i try to pass a variable like the below,am getting error
Variables name='PROJECT_CODE'
Variables value='JI-2015'
In ODI 11g, i have generated a scenario with a variable PROJECT_CODE as a declare variable and tried triggering from both the environments
From ODI 11g:
When I try to trigger the scenario from wsdl, in that variable step(in operator), I got error as ODI-17546: Specified variable not found in the Repository
But in the work repository SNP_VAR table I could still see the variable name under VAR_NAME column.
From ODI 10g:
When i try to do the same from odi 10g, the scenario execution is success.
But the variable had taken only NULL value instead of taking the value which i passed from wsdl.
Could you pls advise where am going wrong

Query for job status using Web Services in BODI

Hello,
I am starting a Batch job in DI using Web Services, getting the following response from DI:

How can I know the status of the started job?
How can I know if the job execution finished with success or not?
I did not find in WSDL file any method to query for job or service status...

Did you ever get this figured out? I am having exactly the same problem in code generated by VS, with the BAPIRET2 structure.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

The system logs reads:

To check the local network for some of the common configuration problems, launch Terminal.app and issue the following diagnostic command:
sudo changeip -checkhostname
That'll report some local configuration information and then either no errors detected and no changes required, or it'll point to whatever configuration errors or issues it might detect. That doesn't catch everything, but it catches the common errors.
FWIW, 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 are poor choices for the local network, as VPNs are based on IP routing and IP routing gets tangled when the same subnet is used on both ends of the VPN. 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 are near ubiquitous in home networks and coffee shops.

Remotely connect to UNIX server using Xmanager

I am using Xmanager (on a windows XP machine) to connect to the remote solaris 9 UNIX server (GUI), but I cannot see the login window.
a gray full screen window is appeared.
Are there any ports I have to enable on the firewall to allow this connection or I have to do some configuration for this on my Solaris 9 server??!!!

Based on your description, it seems that you can connect to SQL Server instance remotely via VPN with SQL Server authentication. But it is failed when connect with Windows authentication.
The issue may occurs when the client cannot send the user credentials to DC via the VPN network. For example, the DC server had specify an IPSEC policy that restricts access from VPN.
Currently, it is hard to interpret without more detail information, please post the error message for further analysis. You can get more details about the failed connection by review the SQL Server error log.By default, the error log is located
at Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.n\MSSQL\LOG\ERRORLOG.

How to create a background job in CE and assign a Web Service to it?

Hi,
We have a specific requirement here.
We have an application service which perform some updates based on timestamp etc, it will be exposed as a Web Service.
The requirement here is that a background job should invoke this Web Service everyday at Midnight.
But here I don't know how to implement this functionality in SAP CE 7.1.
Please reply ASAP.

Job Scheduler is available as part of the app server,
Create a class and extend MDBJobImplementation override the method onJob in this method trigger your webservice.

How to invoke a short lived process using web service start point?

I have a custom short-lived process that does not take any input parameter. I am able to successfully invoke the process from LiveCycle Workbench ES2. I want this process to be invoked by a java client through a web service call. Apart from the web service URL of my process (which looks like
http://<server>:<portno>/soap/services/MyApplication/MyProcess?wsdl&lc_version=9.0.0&versi on=1.0) do the java client know anything else? Any authentication is required?
My intention is to just find out what all the consumer of this process needs to know to invoke it through a web service call.
Was anybody able to test a short-lived process through a web service invocation from SoapUI?

Use only one port to answer web service

I make web services to many companies.
In a company they have a firewall and said me they need use only one port to put a web service.
The web service is instanced in a one port, but the answer is made in different port (negociation between client and web server), when they use in a test server (with out firewall) the web service functioin OK, but when it is updated in Production (with firewall and the 7779 port open) don't function.
I use OAS 10.2.
Somebody know wath can I do.

Hi,
Are you sure the proxy is configured (using IE) for the user running the host instance? (Especially on non development machines) this is not by default the same user as the currently logged in user.
