Invoke Adobe reader in BB10, how to open encrypted files without prompting for password.

Hello All,
I am developing a BB10 application that invokes Adobe Reader as a card for viewing my encrypted pdf books, all books have the same password and I don't want to expose the password to the users to prevent copying copyrighted books. Is it possible to pass the password as parameter when invoking Adobe reader ? if not, is there a trick that can be used to prevent the user from using the options "Share" and "Save As" in card-invoked Adobe reader ?
Thanks to all.

PS Touch can't open PSDs locally. They have to be imported via Creative Cloud (and even then, they are flattened when imported).
I imagine this was a "quality of life" decision since PS Touch can only support up to 16 layers in a particular project. That and maybe the fact that Photoshop (and Photoshop Elements) can use layer masks, which PS Touch doesn't presently have.

    Save the file locally, open the Reader application and try to open it from there. If it still doesn't work provide the full details of your OS, Reader version and the exact error message you're getting when you try to open the file.

  • Since upgrading to 3.6.15 and Adobe Reader X I can't open PDF files

    If I try and open a PDF file get message saying problem with Adobe reader, if it is running exit and try again. However it is not running. I then get a blank screen. If I close FF next time I try to open it a message says FF is already running and I have to reboot to clear the problem. This happens on both my desktop running XP and my laptop running Vista but only since I upgraded to 3.6.15. I upgraded Adobe to Ver X a week ago and it worked fine until the latest FF update.
    The problem doesn't happen in IE.

    The same as all other Mac apps. Which is to say:
    Open Finder.
    Look in the left column for Applications.
    Click to open.
    Find Adobe Reader. Open a folder if needed.
    Double click to launch Adobe Reader.

  • I downloaded the Adobe Reader and now can't open PDF files

    I downloaded the Adobe Reader after notification on my MacBook Pro and now can't read PDF files

    Yes, I was able to open PDFs until I downloaded the new version as per the alert on my MacBook Pro.  I was using Adobe Reader often.
    I downloaded whatever they sent me my way (11?) and my operating system is Mac05 (10.5.8-10.9 English).The message says I’ve already downloaded it.  It didn’t mention file.org.  I looked in my preferences and didn’t see Adobe Reader, only Flash Player.
    I’m not terribly computer savvy, so I’m trying to figure this out.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • How to open a file with C# for wp8

    I have a downloaded file (downloaded by my app) for instance a doc or a pdf.
    How is possible to open it from my WP8 application using C#?
    Thanks

    Hi SeDevWP,
    If you have installed a app that can open your file on your phone, then you can open it on your Windows Phone 8 application, for example, if you want to open a pdf file in your application and you have installed the Adobe Reader,
    then you can use the following code to open the pdf file in C#:
    private async void Button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs rea)
    StorageFolder local = Windows.Storage.ApplicationData.Current.LocalFolder;
    StorageFile pdffile = await local.GetFileAsync("file.pdf");
    // Launch the pdf file.
    Windows.System.Launcher.LaunchFileAsync(pdffile);
    For more information, please try to refer to this document:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/windows/apps/jj206987(v=vs.105).aspx .
    If you do not installed a app that can open your file on your phone, then maybe you need to check some third-party library to meet your requirement.

  • How to open psd files without the cloud?

    I just downloaded Adobe Touch for digital scrapbooking purposes. How can I open a psd file that I've downloaded and unzipped if I don't want to use the Adobe Common Cloud? Ideally I'd like my ipad to have an "open in Adobe Touch" option after I've unzipped the file.

  • How to auto-store files without prompting 'save as'. Adobe X/Adobe X Pro

    We have a database program that we have a lot of dokuments on. We have a option to print all documents on each case, and we want to "print" all these documents (word 2003) to the PDF printer and store the files on a pre-defined adress (Example: C:\Users\UserName\Documents\StoreHere\)
    We have the "Printer" set as PDF printer as standard, so every time we press print we are prompted to where we want to print the said .doc file. So how to we avoid the prompting and make a setting a standard?
    This is OK when its 1-5 files, but when we have 1000 .doc files, things gets very tiresome.
    TL;DR: Print .doc files to PDF reader which will auto store any and all .doc files as .pdf files into a pre-defined adress without prompting "save as".

    You posted in the wrong place. This is the Reader forum and the Adobe PDF printer is a part of Acrobat...
    But anyway, to do that right-click the printer and select Printing Preferences, then go to the "Adobe PDF Settings" tab and click on the Browse button next to the "Adobe PDF Output Folder" drop-down. Select the folder where you want the files to be saved and click OK.
    That should do it...

    I think the only way you're going to be able to do this in
    Flex is to process the file on the server side using something like
    the Perl Win32::OLE module to open the file from a Perl script, and
    access the data, place it in an XML structure, and deliver it to
    Flex, all via HTTPService.
    Here is a little sample code to get you started:

  • Opening .XFDF files without browsing for form

    I have created a form that has an email submit button.  The button is opening my email, adding the address and subject, and attaching the .XFDF correctly. The problem I am having is once I receive the email, I  always get this error when I open it:
    The File you are attempting to open contains comments or form data that are supposed to be placed on.  This document cannot be found.  It may have been moved, deleted.  Would you like to browse to attempt to locate this document?
    I am wondering how I can embed a standard file location (such as C:/forms/title of form) so that I don't have to do this every time.  I know it is possible because my company uses this same form system for our ticketing system and we didn't have to search for the file until and automatic update for Adobe Reader 8 came out.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

    It's possible to use JavaScript to submit a form using a mailto type URL and specify that the file specification of the PDF from which the XFDF originated does not get included in the file. For example:
    Code:
    // Submit as XFDF, but don't include the F key
    submitForm({cURL : "[email protected]", bExclFKey : true, cSubmitAs : "XFDF"});
    Unfortunately, when Acrobat executes this it does not give the user the same option to save the data file locally so the user can attach it manually to an email message, as it does when you use a "Submit a form" type action.
    The problem when you set up a "Submit a form" action in Acrobat is the user interface provides no means for specifying that you do not want to send an F key with the data file (like it should). However, it may be possible to set up such an action with the help of an appropriately configured FDF file that the creator of the form could use to configure the submit button. I haven't confirmed this, but will if you're interested.
    In other words, it is possible to set up a submit form action that excludes the file specification, which would solve the problem you're having. If the JavaScript option above won't work for you, the other ~might~ be an alternative.
    Cheers
    Lorenzo

  • Adobe crashes on printing - unless I open the file and wait for 10 seconds

    We are having printing issues with Adobe Acrobat X or Xi Standard and or Professional on client PCs running Windows 7 32 Bit OS.
    If we open a PDF file and request a printed copy Adobe crashes. If we open the documnet and wait 10 seconds before printing the document it prints perfectly well and Adobe does not crash.
    What is causing this problem?  I haved tried to uninstall and reinstall Adobe Pro but this does not fix the problem.
    I've tried changing the printer type to direct IP printing but this has not helped.

  • [SOLVED]How to make udisksctl unmount without prompting for a password

    A while ago I pretty much started using commandline for just about everything with file management, to the point where I don't have a file manager installed.  The only problem I've had is that I got tired of manually mounting USBs and I read that fstab was not the proper way to do it.  So I looked into udisks and installed it.  It works wonderfully, except every time I want to unmount a USB I have to type in my password.  I find this rather irritating seeing as I have a button on my keyboard for just that, but it won't work since I can't bind it and enter my password.  Is there any way I can make udisks not require a password?
    Edit: Because it seems unclear, at this current point, when I plug in a USB it mounts to my /mnt folder.  When I try this command:
    udisksctl unmount -b /dev/sdc1
    It asks for a password.  I just need to make it go automatically.
    Also, I meant fstab when I typed cfdisk.  My mistake.

    I tried that and got this error:
    Error unmounting /dev/sdc1: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.UDisks2.Error.NotAuthorizedCanObtain: Not authorized to perform operation

    External.  This is all for USB flash memory drives.

    You may want to keep Reader. You may want to select Acrobat as your default, but be able to click on a PDF (or PDF link) to open in Reader when needed. There are likely some PDFs that will not open correctly in AA 7 because of new features folks add. Just because it opens in Reader XI does not mean it is in the new format, but just that is the default opening you have. To tell the type of file, you have to open the PDF and check the properties (ctrl-D) and check Description>PDF version.

    Hello Michael,
    Thank you for your response.  My operating system is XP.  When I try to open a pfd document I just get a series of letters and symbols in a dialog box.  The top of the box says "select the encoding that makes your document readable".  I can choose Windows, MS-Dos, or other (there is a long list to choose from).  None seem to make a difference.  If I save the document to my desk top I can right click on it and choose an option "Open with  AdobeReader 9" and it opens fine.
    Thank you,

    Hello:
    What operating system does your computer use? What happens when you attempt to open a PDF document rather than saving it first? Please include any/all error messages. Also, have you tried opening documents from other locations or just one in particular?
