Hi All,
i have created SQL queries for reporting purposes in the Query Manager and have designed a report layout for the same. How will i be able to invoke the report from the click of a button in an user form?

Hi Vishnu,
Once you have added a report to the query manager you can find its "Menu UID" in the application menu Tools --> Queries --> User Queries
Then use code to click that menu item:
Application.Menus.Item("Menu UID").Activate()

I'm using JDev11g, ADF BC.
Case Background: I'm designing a screen which has a summary and detail screen in same page. I'm displaying a table from which the user would select a row and click on a button to invoke an action through the Task Flow. In the Task flow i have two fragments one to view the record and other to edit the record. The form to view is read-only and the other is editable.
Problem: I'm not able to invoke the task flow from click of the button, it just refreshes the page.
I would like to know how to fix this issue.

Report prompting Report Parameters on clicking Viewer Refresh button
Hi,
We are using Crystal Reports XI release 2 for launching the reports. Dot net Web forms are used for launching the reports. We are using SQL server stored procedure for getting the report data. Report Parameter values are assigned programmatically. Report is launching fine and data are displayed perfectly.
The problem is when I click on the Refresh button available in the report viewer it prompts for all the report parameters to enter the corresponding values. To overcome this issue I tried to use the u201CReuseParameterValuesOnRefreshu201D programmatically and in crystal report viewer control, but still it is displaying all the report parameters details.
To overcome this issue is there any settings available in the crystal report designer or programmatically this can be handled ?
I had verified the followings
1. Report navigations are working fine (move previous, next)
2. Report export is working fine
3. Report Printing is working fine

Invoking a second servlet when clicking submit in first servlet
I have 3 files Test.html, Test.java and Test1. java
Test and Test1 are servlets.
I am invoking servlet Test after submitiing from Test.html.

ALV issue - capturing user changes in editable fields using custom button?
Hi,
I created a custom button in ALV tool bar. And also in my ALV grid I have couple of fields Editable option. User can change values for these 2 fields.
My question is -
After changing values for these editable fields(more than 1 record) , user will click on custom button and then I have to update all the user changed values in to my internal table(lt_tab) and then I have to process logic.
Problem is when user click on Custom button in ALV tool bar it is not having the changed values in lt_tab table.
Only when user clicks some thing on ALV grid records or fields then it is getting all the changed values in to lt_tab.
Can any one tell me how I can get changed values when user clicks on custom button?
1. Can we place custom button in ALV Grid? instead of ALV tool bar?
or
How I can capture user changes when they click on custom button?

Dynamic report based on Parameters and a Button
Trying to make a dynmic report based on Parameters entered.Wanted to refresh report when i click on a button say "OK" based on parameters entered.
(1) created 2 text boxes -- Parameters --One date and other employee No
(2) on the same page i created a report-region which id dynamic "PL/SQL Function Returning SQL Query "
In this query i am using the parameters created in step1
(3) Then i created a Button say "OK" .
(4) When i enter parameters and then press OK i need to refresh my report in region defined in step2
This refresh is not happening .
Not sure what is missing
I tried using branching it didn't work
In the dynamic region it shows "No data found"
Please helpsachin
1) make sure there is no Optional Redirect defined on the OK button. That is, make sure the page is really submitted.
2) in the PL/SQL body generating the query, print out the query using htp.p() so you get to see it and test it.
3) use the session state link in the developer toolbar in conjunction with the technique in step 2) to debug your query
Maybe the report region is refreshing, but it just isn't returning any results.

Stop the report from firing until the user clicks the Go button?
Hi All,
Is there a way to stop the report from firing until the user clicks the Go button? At the moment it is populating when I open the dashboard page. I found something online that said i could use the Page Options>Save Current Settings> For Others.. but even though i am signed in as an administrator i only see a For Me.. option. Also, even after setting this option i would like to be able to hit the 'Go' button to run the report and have it uncollapse the section. Is this possible?

In my report i am trying to constrain the report to todays data only. However the only prompt i have is for another column. If i place a filter on the date column with Year=0000 it will not change with the prompt selection and so will never return any results. Is there any other way?
It seems wasteful to fire a request to the database onload of the page. Is there an option to only fire a request what the prompts are entered? I will be using a stored proc which needs parameters to run the request so it would be good to be able to set the report to not run until it has parameters entered

I encountered an error in the Payment Wizard screen as I was creating an Outgoing Payment for petty cash expenses. On the “Recommendation Report” screen, I clicked “Non-Included Trans.” and saw that one of the vendors (Vendor Code: WILCO) has the following error:
“The document amount is greater than the max. amount allowed in the payment methods linked to the BP”
Upon checking, the “PCF-W” Payment Method linked to WILCO does not have any restrictions, nor does WILCO have any credit/commitment limit set. I have also appropriately defined the Dummy Business Partner Bank (under Payment Terms) as well as checked the “Included” box for PCF-W on the Payment Run-Payment Methods screen.
Could anyone please help me on this?

CatPS - have found other posts indicating that clips smaller than 2s or sometimes 5s, or "short files" can cause this. Modern style editing often uses short takes ! Good grief I cannot believe Apple. Well I deleted a half a dozen short sections and can export, but now of course the video is a ruined piiece of junk and I need to re-do the whole thing, the sound etc. which is basically taking as much time as the original. And each time I re-do it I risk again this lovely error -50 and again trying to figure out what thing bugs it via trial and error instead of a REASONABLE ERROR MESSAGE POINTING TO THE CLIP IT CAN'T PROCESS. What a mess. I HATE this iMovie application - full of BUGS BUGS BUGS which Apple will not fix obviously, since I had this product for a few years and see just hundreds of hits on Google about this error with disappointed users. Such junk I cannot believe I paid money for it and Apple does not support it with fixes !!!
If anyone knows of a GOOD reasonably priced video editing program NOT from APPLE I am still looking for suggestions. I want to do more video in future, but obviously NOT with iMovie !!! -

I had created a query and created the report by clicking create report button. But i am not aware how to view the report. I am unable to find appropriate menu item to view the user report.

To view a already set-up report in the defined query layout, you need to open up query manager, select the report (do not double click - just highlight!) and then click on the print preview button.

How to use "advanced" tab in user reports?
I have two reports. I fill "Report ID" in both and then I can push "Add Report" and fill fields property.
Then I'm can "drill" from one report to another on right click, but how to pass parameters?
Is it even possible?

I can't get it working.
I have two reports:
1. report:
Name: test
SQL: select 1 NUM, 'text' TEXT from dual;
On advanced tab:
ReportID: -null-
Name: test2
Report: Test2
2. report
Name: test2
SQL: select :NUM from dual;
Now, when I run the first report and click do right click on a row and select TEST2
from popup menu, it navigates to the second report test2, but WITHOUT actual value
from NUM column from first report.
I'm using latest version of SQL Developer (1.1.1.25) and I like reports.
With this feature it would be even better.

User reports "Error #2046", I can't replicate--possible causes?
Hi All,
We've got a Flex 4 app, built in Flash Builder, and we just had a user call in and report that when they click the "Begin" button on the app (the very first user interaction they would have after the app has finished loading), they got "Error message 2046."
That's all the information I have from the user. I've been doing searching on this and it sounds like Flash runtime error 2046 is an RSL that had an invalid signature. Here's the official list of runtime errors:

Now, this is the first user to report this problem, and I've never experienced this myself. How would I troubleshoot this? Is there a way to force my browser to try and load all the RSLs for my app? I'm using Firebug to monitor the requests the browser makes, and I can see it requests my main SWF file, but none of the SWZ files, which I think are the RSLs? I'm wondering if one of them is "bad" somehow, but I'm not seeing the error because I've got it cached from some other site that used the same RSL?
Also, I'm confused as to why the user wouldn't have gotten this message until they clicked on a button in my app. Aren't the RSL's loaded as part of the initial app startup? I would have thought he would have gotten this error during the initial loading of the Flex app, not when he first attempted to click on a button in the app.
I haven't changed with the compiler or RSL settings for my project from the default settings when I created the project.

Also, once I followed your instructions on how to delete the RSLs, I can see them requested in Firebug. I noticed something interesting, however, that I'm hoping someone can help me understand better.
When I change the compiler options from using RSLs to "Merge into code," the total size of my SWF is 852kb. If I use RSLs, then my SWF is 231kb, and the following additional files are loaded from fpdownload.adobe.com:
1) osmf_flex.4.0.0.13495.swz (96kb)
2) framework_4.0.0.14159.swz (607kb)
3) textLayout_1.0.0.595.swz (129kb)
4) spark_4.0.0.14159.swz (311kb)
5) sparkskins_4.0.0.14159.swz (53kb)
So that's a total of 1196kb in RSLs. Combine that with my SWF size of 231kb, and you get a total of 1427kb. That's 575kb (or 67%) more than the 852kb if I simply didn't use RSLs. So, it looks like if I use RSLs, and the user actually needs to load the RSLs, they will have to load 575kb more than if I simply chose the option "merge into code."
So, I'm guessing that the reason is that when I merge everything into code, it only actually includes the bits that I'm using. However, when I opt for RSLs, the app must load the entire SWZ file, even if I'm only using a single item in that SWZ file. Is that right?
As for the reasoning for using loading entire RSLs over merging into your SWF only what you need, I'm guessing it goes like this: though some users might get a slower load experience, most users will already have those RSLs loaded, so they'll only need my smaller (231kb) SWF.
Are there any statistics out there that can give me an idea of just what percentage of users will need to load the RSLs, versus those that will already have them cached locally?
