Invoking ADF Actions from JS API
Is there a way to invoke an action from a javascript function? Something that would perhaps mimic what this commandLink does:
<af:commandLink text="Lights, Camera, Action!"
id="chuckNorris" action="flyingKick"/>
What I am looking for is the ability to invoke the action "flyingKick" from a javascript function.
Thanks, I actually already saw this. What I need though is something that doesn't a serverListener though - a programmatic version of a commandLink with an action if you will.

Invoking JSF actions from a hyperlink
I suspect I already know the answer to this question based on my experiments and what I've read on the web and in books, but I thought I'd ask here just in case.
The basic problem is that I would like to invoke JSF from a hyperlink. For example: mystore.com/displayProduct.faces?id=1234
But I can't. JSF just seems to be (intentionally) built not to allow access to the JSF lifecycle via GET requests. Which makes it fine for web sites that are composed simply of loads of forms, but seems quite unsuitable for web sites that need to display products and search results via links that are easy to bookmark and easy for search engines to crawl.
Thanks for any words of wisdom anyone might have...Thanks for the reply and the link. I had a look at the linked thread and might be able to use that technique for getting parameters out of a GET request into my action, but I still need to get JSF to call my action method somehow and there is no way that I can see to tell it which method to call.
Also, it seems like manually reading values from the request is sidestepping a lot of JSF and losing out on the value that it adds, i.e. validating and converting the parameters for me. I could manually populate components in the bean and then call the validators and converters myself, but still. -
Invoking pageflow action from Backing Files
Hi,
I have a requirement to be able to force a pageflow to a particular state by invoking a specific action on the pageflow from the preRender() method of a backing file.
I.e under certain circumstances i want to force the portlet to return to its 'initial' state by running the begin action. It has to be done programitically and not setting refresh-action on the portlet.
Is it possible to do this programatically from a backing file ? Is so any sample code would be appreciated !.
TIA
MartinWhat do you mean by state of a page flow?
If you want to set the state of the portlet you can do that easily using the PortletBackingContext.
If you want to clear the instance variables of a pageflow, you can do that by overriding methods in the parent class of PageFlowController.

How to invoke ADF custom application from existing R12 EBS application
Hi Guru's,
We have a requirement to invoke ADF custom application from existing EBS R12.1.3 application.
Is there any documentation provided by ORACLE or any online help on how to integrate/invoke ADF pages from existing EBS application?
And can we pass any EBS session level parameters like(user info, language, operating unit etc) to ADF layer while invoking the ADF application?
I have thoroughly searched the forums and got some info related to JAAS security links and all. but i am looking for exact integration specific steps.
Any help in this regard is a great help!!

How to invoke ADF application URL from OAF?
Hi guru's,
We have a developed a custom ADF application using Fusion Middleware 11g.
We would like to integrate this ADF with existing EBS/OAF application.
We were able to invoke ADF URL from EBS responsibility with a special function type "ADFx" in R12.1.3.
Now we need to pass context/profile level parameters from EBS to external ADF application. Like logged in userId/RespId etc...
We are running ADF application also in same EBS DB and hence want to use same fnd_user/Resp concept in ADF.
Can anyone help me on how to pass these parameters like userId/RespId from EBS to ADF while invoking ADF application URL?
If we can append the values to ADF URL, we would be bale to parse them in ADF context. But, i am stuck at passing parameters from EBS.
How Can we invoke ADF URL from OAF page? is there any specific function available or is it just URL invoke?
Also, in OAF the logged in user session information is maintained in cookies(if i am correct), is there any way that we can pass the session level values from OAF to ADF?
Any help in this regard would be a great help!!!
ThanksMay be the following link will help you ->

System.out.println("afterPageLoad end- "+retVal);
But when i try invoke commandLink action from this method, it is not invoked, even debugging message after this call is not processed, no exception is thrown..

Did you ever find a solution to your problem?
My situation is that I'm running a process that grabs data from a salesforce.com web service and dumps some of the data back into my local database. The process croaks after processing 850 or so records. I have also increased my PermSize memory to 512M.
Any ideas why all of a sudden after processing that many records it would stop working?
Thanks,

Migrate ADF application from version 10.1.2 to 10.1.3
Dear all,
I have migrated a ADF application from version 10.1.2 to 10.1.3.
The original project has been opened with jdeveloper 10.1.3 and the 10.1.2 libraries set in the server.xml and orion-application.xml files as explained in this page
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/10g-howto-deploy-a-1012-adf-applica-090135.html?ssSourceSiteId=otnjp

Sameer Jafferis it not possible to call a action from the faces submit button and/or the navigation?
This a simple POC using struts-faces exmaples.
Here is my struts-config and faces-config file.

Invoking Web Service From PL SQL package
Below is the sample code to invoke web service from pl/sql package using UTL_HTTP:
Declare
http_req UTL_HTTP.req;
http_resp UTL_HTTP.resp;
Begin
http_req :=
UTL_HTTP.begin_request
'http://'
|| lv_hosturl
-- || '.net/soa-infra/services/finance_rt/Payments/paymentsprocess_client_ep',
--new url
|| '.net/soa-infra/services/finance_rt/PaymentsReq/paymentsprocess_client_ep?WSDL',
'POST',
'HTTP/1.1'
UTL_HTTP.set_header (http_req, 'Content-Type', 'text/xml');
-- since we are dealing with plain text in XML documents
UTL_HTTP.set_header (http_req,
'Content-Length',
LENGTH (lv_soap_request)
UTL_HTTP.set_header (http_req, 'SOAPAction', '');
-- required to specify this is a SOAP communication
UTL_HTTP.write_text (http_req, lv_soap_request);
http_resp := UTL_HTTP.get_response (http_req);
UTL_HTTP.read_text (http_resp, lv_soap_respond);
UTL_HTTP.end_response (http_resp);
resp := XMLTYPE.createxml (lv_soap_respond);
End;Hi,
there are a lot of option to make plsql web services .
First you can stay with jdev 10.1.3
Use the xmldb servlets
use jdev 11g tp4 to create plsql ws and upgrade to jdev 11g production
And I think in the next release of jdev it will be back , there are more options which disappeared like the adf bc sdo ws or jmx datacontrol etc.
thanks Edwin -

Can u tell me a way to keep me application under orabpel -
Hello,
My problem is:
I have deployed a composite application where the interface is Web Service with Policy wss_username_token_service_policy. I want to invoke that web service from another composite application through BPEL. In other words invoke secured web service from BPEL.
I've created Partner Link and added:
<property name="wsseHeaders">propagate</property>
<property name="wsseUsername">weblogic1</property>
<property name="wssePassword">welcome1</property>
I've read many topics about my problem, even I've done http://soa-howto.blogspot.com/2008/04/invoking-ws-security-compliant-web.html
but it doesn't work.
What should I do?
Here is some code:
composite.xml
<reference name="validateIdentifier"
ui:wsdlLocation="http://maciek:8001/soa-infra/services/default/validateIdentifier/validateIdentifierWebService.wsdl">
<interface.wsdl interface="http://oracle.com/sca/soapservice/validateIdentifier/validateIdentifier/validateIdentifierWebService#wsdl.interface(execute_ptt)"/>
<binding.ws port="http://oracle.com/sca/soapservice/validateIdentifier/validateIdentifier/validateIdentifierWebService#wsdl.endpoint(validateIdentifierWebService/execute_pt)"
location="http://maciek:8001/soa-infra/services/default/validateIdentifier/validateIdentifierWebService?WSDL">
<property name="oracle.webservices.auth.username" type="xs:string"
many="false" override="may">weblogic1</property>
<property name="oracle.webservices.auth.password" type="xs:string"
many="false" override="may">welcome1</property>
</binding.ws>
</reference>
And here is error from Weblogic EM:
The selected operation execute could not be invoked.
An exception occured while invoking the webservice operation. Please see logs for more details.

Edited by: Kumako22 on 2010-03-02 12:44The service invoked directly through Weblogic 11 EM with WSS username token works correctly. But when it is invoked in BPEL from another Composite - the input for secured service is an output from the first service doesn't work.
I think something wrong is with properities. I've also added BS username and password.
Any clues?

Opening ADF page from java script
I am trying to use window.open(url, winName) to open an ADF page from java script.
I have set the same winName but when i call the window.open method every time it opens up a new window.
The code is as below:
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>
<script>
function openwin() {
window.open("about:blank", "winDocPrint", "width=800,height=600,location=no");
</script>
<form action="http://127.0.0.1:7101/RegionRefresh-ViewController-context-root/faces/EnterAndDisplay?_afrLoop=3611588465186&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=zoaas2mc3_4" target="winDocPrint" onsubmit="openwin">
<input type="submit" value="Print Comments Call ADF">
</form>
</body>
</html>
when I click the button first time, it opens a new window, and keeps opening a new windows on clicking the button again.
I want it to use the same window that was opened first time.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sandeep M.

Invoke task flow from backing bean?
Hi,
Is there a way to invoke task flow from a backing bean? If yes, how?
Thanks in advanceThanks Frank. I am not an expert with ADF so please bear with me if my questions doesn't make sense. Basically what I am trying to achieve is this.
I have a taskflow and I am currently in a ui page which displays a page fragment inside this task flow. In this page, on click of a button, I need to call another task flow and show it in a adf popup. Is this the case referred in the pdf document that you pointed out?
Thanks
