Invoking page process using AJAX

Hi,
Is it possible to invoke page process using AJAX, just like I can do it with application processes?
Regards,
Przemek

Hi,
Could you not have a application process that does an execute immediate on a block of PL/SQL? This way in your app process you could extract the code from your page process.
So your code would like something like:
SELECT region_source
INTO v_plsql_source
FROM apex_application_page_regions
WHERE source_type = 'PL/SQL'
AND application_id = :app_id
AND page_id = :app_page_id
AND static_id = :your_static_id; -- or you could reference from region name etc...
execute immediate (v_plsql_source);
I'm not sure if you'll have any issue with bind variables in v_plsql_source

    The server side of AJAX allows you to invoke an APEX on-demand PL/SQL process (which is actually a PL/SQL anonymous block) or any stored procedure on the database.
    The following is a good place to start understanding APEX AJAX - http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:63 .

    Hi -
    A few things that you may want to try to troubleshoot this issue:
    1) Run our sample of calling a BPEL process from Axis, located in:
    C:\orabpel\samples\interop\axis\AXISCallingSyncBPEL
    2) Run your client through a TCP tunnel to see the specific SOAP request message that is being sent to the BPEL process and the SOAP response that is being generated. This should help you determine which side of the communication is causing the problem, as well as to rule out proxy server or other issues that are very common problems for this situation.

  • Error processing a page when using AJAX

    hi apex forum.
    I need your help with a problem that presents me with an application in apex 4.2.
    I have developed a html screen, in which I have created a table that contains a detailed items and on which the user can enter some values. these data that user enters, I calculate a total at the end of the page. To view the current total of the entries , the user presses a button that uses AJAX (to avoid having to refresh the whole page)  to calculate totals and at the same time, i call an AJAX process to add each record to an apex_collection , until here everything perfect.
    The problem is that when I want to save the information to pass it from apex_collection to the database (by pressing a button and make the official insert), I must first have to refresh the page, if not do it this way, Apex generate an Error Message.
    it's important to say that error does not apper, if before pressing the button, i first refresh the page.  Any suggestions??
    I think I should use some internally command to synchronize or update the page.... any suggestions are welcome.,
    thanks in advance,

    Soooo...
    What is the error you are seeing?
    Is the multi-row process still there? What exactly happens on submit (computations, validations, processes)?
    Have you tried to run with debug enabled and were you able to see where the error originates?

  • Submit page item using AJAX

    Hi All,
    Thanks for any help in advance.
    I am trying to submit an item into the session by using AJAX iin version 4.1
    I have a application process which is an on demand: run this application process when requested by a page process.
    begin
      :P4_FISCAL_YEAR2 := :AJAX_4_FISCAL_YEAR2;
    end;then in the item :P4_FISCAL_YEAR2 have the html form element attributes set to:
    (also the page item is set to None(Default) on page action when value changed.
    onchange="selectChanged6(this)"and a page process
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function selectChanged6(filter)
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$v('pFlowId'), 'APPLICATION_PROCESS=SET_4_FISCAL_YEAR2',0);
    get.add('AJAX_4_FISCAL_YEAR2', filter.value);
    var ret = get.get();
    </script>The item doesnt seem to be submitting into the session and I cant figure out why, Thanks

    Marie,
    I think I have acomplished what you are looking for but if your goal is quick response time then this can fluctuate since there is 1 ajax call made to set your item value and another ajax call for every chart you want to refresh.
    This solution assumes the following:
    1. all reports are in the same language and in english.
    2. all reports are flash charts.
    here is a demo: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=43401:23:0
    Go into your chart template and add the class refreshable_chart
    <div class="rounded-corner-region refreshable_chart" id="#REGION_STATIC_ID#" #REGION_ATTRIBUTES#>
    ...Create the following dynamic action on your chart page:
    Name: refresh_chart
    Event: Change
    Selection Type: Item(s)
    Item(s): P4_FISCAL_YEAR2
    True actions:
    Sequence: 10
    Action: execute pl/sql code
    Code:
    NULL;
    {code}
    Page Items to Submit: P4_FISCAL_YEAR2
    Sequence: 20
    Action: Execute JavaScript code
    Affected Elements:
    -- Type: jQuery Selector
    -- jQuery Selector: .refreshable_chart
    Code:
    {code:javascript}
    this.affectedElements.each(function(){
      apex_RefreshFlashChart(&APP_PAGE_ID., this.id.substr(1), 'en');
    {code}

  • Page reload using Ajax/ Javascript

    Hi All,
    I am new to Ajax, in my application i have to reload the page once i click on the link on a report column.
    Another one is how to call "On load process" by clicking on the report link.
    Can anybody help on this.
    thanx
    Madhu

    implement page submit with AJAX instead of javascriptSome comments
    <li>If you are submtting page, then you don't ajax coz you can do the processing in an Onsubmit PLSQL process
    <li>The J in AJAX stands for "Javascript."
    >
    My requirement is on clicking on the report column i have to call one javascript and in javascript i am setting item value then submitting the page with doSubmit, then it will run the onload process based on the item value.
    Again from onload process i am calling another javascript.
    >
    So "column link" -> "JS function" -> "SET Item" ->"Submit The Page" -> "on load process" ???
    If you are on apex 4.0 ,you can use Dynamic Action for such things
    <li> add a handler for the link column that can be used in identifying the link for instance
    by adding to the link attributes(in column properties)
    class="my_link"<li> Then add a Dynamic action that is fired when you click on the link
    Dynamic Action Name : Anything you want
    Triggering element type: jQuery Selector
    jQuery Selector: a.my_link
       True Action 1: Type : Javascript
             JS code : <Insert JS code  to set the item>
       True Action 1: *PLSQL*
            PLSQL source : <use the PSLQL code from your onload PLSQL process>
            Items to submit : <set item name>, <any other items being refered in PLSQL>

  • Embedding video in a dinamic page loaded using ajax

    I've been trying to do this for some days now, and still couldnt find a solution.. this is the story:
    I need to embed a movie (.mov, mp4, m4v) in a dynamic page loaded by an ajax call, i followed the recommendations specified in apple's page so i can monitor progress, and listen DOM events:
    QuickTime and JavaScript
    on Firefox, everything works very well, i can monitor progress, listen events, etc.. etc... (this app is intended to be multi browser)
    On the contrary, IE is driving me crazy, it does not do anything.
    So to debug this i did the following (for IE):
    i tried then, creating a simple STATIC page in my computer, that loads the movie, and listens to its events, it worked good.
    Then i put that html file in a web server, and every "first time" that i open the page, it wont work at all. After a reload, it will work good.
    Then i created a simple page with an ajax call that will insert the html embedding the movie, and again it wont work in IE.
    I want to be able to listen DOM events in IE in a dynamic page
    Please help me with this.
    <Edited by Moderator>

    I've been fighting this last couple days as well.
    Somehow the dom events are not fired
    –in win explorer that is– when the movie is
    inserted after the document loaded.
    I've been trying many variation to get it to
    work and just found a hackish way:
    After you have added the movie via javascript
    use the movie.SetURL('/movie.mov') function
    and then the RegisterListener() function.
    This enabled the Dom event for me.
    Additionally you can use
    movie.SetResetPropertiesOnReload(false) to
    keep the movie properties.
    function insertMov() {
    var embtxt = QTGenerateOBJECTTextXHTML("../movies/main.mov",
    477,
    268,
    'obj#id', 'mainobjId12',
    'emb#id', 'mainembId12',
    'emb#name', 'mainembName12',
    'EnableJavaScript', 'True',
    'postdomevents', 'True',
    'autoplay', 'False',
    'controller', 'False'
    var mov_container = document.getElementById('mov_container');
    mov_container.innerHTML= embtxt;
    setTimeout('reg()',100);
    function reg(){
    document.getElementById('mainobjId12').SetResetPropertiesOnReload(false)
    document.getElementById('mainobjId12').SetURL("../movies/main.mov");
    RegisterListener('qt_canplaythrough', 'mainobjId12', 'mainembId12', aallrrtt);
    function aallrrtt(){
    alert('qt_canplaythrough');

    yeah you are 100% correct ..
    I have attached some stuff for CDH integration, where we used plsql to send out info on a created record to a queue.
    CREATE OR REPLACE
    TYPE XXBPEL_MESSAGE_TYPE AS OBJECT (
    MSG_ID VARCHAR2(128),
    INREPLYTO_MSG_ID VARCHAR2(128),
    FROM_PARTY VARCHAR2(512),

    EXECUTE DBMS_AQADM.start_queue(queue_name => 'XXBPEL_OUT_QUEUE',dequeue => TRUE,enqueue => TRUE);
    On BPEL side creata a process that listens to this queue (with and AQ partnerlink) as shown in $BPEL_HOME/integration\orabpel\samples\tutorials\124.AQAdapter\MulticonsumerInbound

    Hi,
    Please ensure that you include the SOAP Header "SOAPAction" in your request. Most importantly, the value for that should be enclosed within double quotes.
    For eg;
    req.setRequestHeader("SOAPAction", '"process"');

  • CRM and ESB Integratio - Invoking ESB Process using HTTP transport

    We have a CRM application that communicates to another application using HTTP transport ( basically sends XML doc). Now We have requirement that the CRM App need to communicate with ESB Process. Please advise me what adapter should I use in ESB ? Is there any custom adapter ?
    Thanks in adavnce..
    Monica

    It depends on the protocol supported on the ESB. If it is SOAP over http you need some client stubs in your application to be able to communicate via SOAP. I'd start with checking Axis or Xfire.

    To invoke the web service, we are just using the JavaScript code that has been generated by BPEL Process Manager. The call looks like:
    function invokeSync (url, xmlDoc) {
    var req = null; if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {
    req = new XMLHttpRequest();
    } else if (window.ActiveXObject) {
    req = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
    if (req) {
    req.open("POST", url, false);
    req.setRequestHeader("Content-Type", "text/xml");
    req.send(xmlDoc);
    return req.responseXML;
    I have been able to invoke other web services using exactly the same function. They all seem fine.
    I am even able to use an AXIS type client to invoke the BPEL web service from Eclipse.
    Advice??? This definitely appears to be some sort of bug?
    Thanks,
    BradW

    check out 102.InvokingProcess/ws tutorial .. which uses axis .. or generate the client based on the wsdl that you can retrieve from the bpel console / click on the process/ and then wsdl tab ..

    1) get a Locator (com.oracle.bpel.client.Locator)
    2) get IDeliveryService (com.oracle.bpel.client.delivery.IDeliveryService) reference from locator
    3) call IDeliveryService method request or post with input message and get the response back.
    Recently we want to migrated from oracle bpm 10g to oracle soa/bpm 11g. But I can not find the similar API in 11g. It seems now some adapter/binding need to be added in exposed service lane in soa composite view, for example, ADF-BC, direct binding etc, in order to allow java to invoke a bpel process. Here are two very useful links from Edwin about the detail how this is implemented.

    My question is:
    1) what are the choices and the official/best way to invoke a bpel process in oracle soa/bpm 11g from java?
    2) does user need to add an adapter/binding in exposed service lane in order to let the bpel service be called in java?
    3) what is the real difference between a bpm application and soa application in 11g?
    I will really appreciate any expert's opinion.
    Thanks,
    Bin

    Thanks for your reply and confirmation, really appreciate it.
    Yes, I found the difference of the invoking process API and was able to invoke bpel process using direct and ADF-BC binding by following Edwin's blog. But I have not found any official reference to compare this API difference between 10g and 11g ( I will mark this question as answered if anyone can find an official source from oracle, need to prove it to the team). The API to work with human task workflow seems pretty much the same between 10g and 11g.

  • Catching errors on procedures inside page process.

    Good Afternoon, my apex teachers.
    I have a doubt on my page process, hope you guys can help.
    I have a page process that executes a pl/sql block on page submit.
    On this pl/sql block there is a call to a stored procedure.
    What I want to do is, when this procedure, that is called inside the pl/sql
    block, does not execute properly, my page process uses his error message
    instead of his success message. Is that possible?
    Thanks for all the help.
    Regards, Leandro Freitas.

    Well..i thing i can help.
    1.Create a hidden field with name PHiddenMsg.
    2. On your block
    DECLARE
    err_code  varchar2(100);
    err_msg varchar2(200);
    BEGIN
    -- Your procedure call
    PROC_ABC(.....);
    Exception when others then
    err_code := SQLCODE;
          err_msg := substr(SQLERRM, 1, 200);
    :PHiddenMsg := err_code || err_msg; --> you decide what to show
    end;3. Put the field PHiddenMsg(&PHiddenMsg.) in the error message.
    Yes?
