IOException when flush is called from a custom tag

Thanks is advance for the help. I've encountered an oddity in OC4J 10.1.3 Standalone using java 1.5 the 2.4 servlet spec and struts 1.1 and I'm wondering how to resolve it. In our current application we use custom tags to define certain fields. Every tag in our web front end does the same thing.
<pre>
JspWriter writer = pageContext.getOut();
writer.print(sb.toString());
writer.flush();
</pre>
I would understand if the tag was calling a commit then flush and then trying to write to the buffer again. That should raise this exception. We have tags that do the same thing without issue, But some others fail. This is the stack trace we see in the logs.
<pre>
WARN - SpecialReviewTag.doStartTag() IOException:
java.io.IOException: InValid to flush BodyContent: no backing stream behind it
at com.evermind.server.http.EvermindBodyContent.flush(EvermindBodyContent.java:213)

at oracle.jsp.runtimev2.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:518)
at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:856)
</pre>
Here is where the oddity comes into play. The page still renders all the needed information for the user. The problem lies with this exception being flooded into our production logs.
This is the web.xml file being used to define our .jsp configuration
<pre>
<jsp-property-group>
<display-name>Ignore EL</display-name>
<url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
<el-ignored>true</el-ignored>
<scripting-invalid>false</scripting-invalid>
<is-xml>false</is-xml>
</jsp-property-group>
</pre>
One other not these tags worked fine in the OC4J 10.1.2 Container this happened after the conversion to OC4J 10.1.3
Thanks alot for the help,
Charles

Hi,
I am also getting the same error, when we move to OC4J 10.1.3.
If you find any solution for this please let me know, Thanks in advance.

    And some time it's worked...

    OMG.....this very tiny hole located next to the headset jack........I suffered for the same issue around 20 days after purchasing my iPhone 4S. Even I visit the apple store too, they suggested to talk with apple online.....just before going to apple, i was reading "iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting" (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802) and at the very first line, i found "Make sure that nothing is blocking the top microphone (located next to the headset jack)." and this located next to the headset jack solved the problem completely for sound in vidio as well as sound with calling speaker phone.....Actually, I purchased a plastic cover (like screen protector type) that blocked this small hole (microphone hole i think) and the problem was because of this...I remember on the first day i talk with speacker phone (nothing on iPhone at that time) and it was working...
    No need to restore or hard reset anything...i was fearing i'll lost everything if I hard reset my iPhone that took 5-10 to build my iPhone as I like apps, music, vidio on it....

  • Stale Data error when invoking seeded OAF from a custom OAF page

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement in OAF where we have to open a Seeded OAF Page (Install Base) from our Custom Page. We are using the javascript function “openWindow()” to open the page in a new window. When we close the seeded page by clicking seeded page window using the Window-close button and then perform any event on the custom page, we get the Stale Data error as given below.
    Error: Stale Data
    The requested page contains stale data. This error could have been caused through the use of the browser's navigation buttons (the browser Back button, for example).
    Cause:
    The number of displayed records, 2, exceeds the actual number of records, 1, in view object OwqAM.IKNCICOWQDetailVO1. Some of the displayed records may have been deleted.
    Here is the part of code we have tried.
    String destination = "/OA_HTML/RF.jsp?function_id="+Func_Id+"&"+"resp_id="+Resp_id+"&"+"resp_appl_id="+Application_id+"&security_group_id=0&lang_code=US";
    String testDest = "javascript:openWindow(top,'"+destination+"',null,{width:750, height:550},false,'document',null);void(0);";
    OABodyBean bodyBean = (OABodyBean)pageContext.getRootWebBean();
    bodyBean.setOnLoad(testDest);
    Also this issue is encountered only when we open an OAF page in a new window. We also have a functionality where a JSP page is opened on similar lines, but above said navigations do not result in the same error.
    If anyone has come across such a issue and have a resolution, please let me know. Any pointers would be of great help.
    Thanks,
    Mrugesh

    Hi,
    We had tried passing RetainAM = Y and then bouncing apache. Still we were getting the same error.
    We are not facing the STALE DATA issue when we invoke JSP page and oracle forms. It is only when we launch a seeded OAF page from our custom OAF page that we are getting this error.

  • IPhone 6 seems to crash when making phone call from Mac

    When using my iPhone 6 Plus to make phone calls from the Macintosh, (initiating call from Mac Contacts app in Yosemite) the iPhone continually brings up the Apple logo and does a quick restart over and over again. The phone call, however seems to work, but it's just that the iPhone looks as if it's going crazy showing the Apple logo and then the home screen over and over again.  This had worked initially, but not anymore. Both iPhone 6 and MacBookPro up to date with updates.

    If you never find an app that will do it then you could have a go at making one yourself-I don't think you need to pay Apple as long as you don't want to sell it.

  • I get an error message "iPhone is already on a call" when making phone calls from Macbook Air. What can I do to fix this problem?

    I have followed the instructions exactly according to Apple for making phone calls from my Macbook Air. Im signed in to iCloud on both devices. Im on the same wifi network. Wifi calls is turned off on my iPhone. Any suggestions?

    Howdy jcannon130,
    Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.
    To troubleshoot this issue where your Mac believes you iPhone is still on a call while trying to make a call from your Mac, please first reset your iPhone, and then verify you have the settings configured correctly on your Mac and iPhone.

  • Problem Calling Query in Custom Tag

    I am using this code to call a custom tag called
    broadcast.cfm
    <cf_broadcast query="fe" orgID = "4">
    The query fe is an included file on my site and is available
    to the page I'm calling the custom tag from.
    In the custom tag I am referencing the query like:
    <cfloop query="#attributes.query#">
    but I keep getting this error:
    "The value of the attribute query, which is currently "fe",
    is invalid. "
    I must be missing something really simple here but can't
    figure out what.

    It is a scoping problem. The query is defined in the calling
    page. To access it by name, within the custom tag, use the "caller"
    scope.
    <cfloop query="caller.#attributes.nameOfTheQuery#">
    If the query object is passed to the custom tag via an
    attribute you shouldn't need the caller scope. See attached sample.

  • Setter method not getitng called in the custom tag

    Hi,
    I have written a custom tag and I have declared an attribute in the tld file and have specified the setter method for the same in the java tag file but that setter method is not getting called...for rest of the attributes, the methods are getting called and not just for one!! any idea what could be the problem....

    Do you have a getter method to match that property?
    Post some example code - what does your tld define for this property, and what get/set methods have you defined for it?

  • Challenge: how to login a user from a custom Tag?

    Hey. The question is in the title.
    This is the doEndTag() function inside a TagSupport implentation class :
    public int doEndTag() {
      String j_username = pageContext.getRequest().getParameter("j_username");
      String j_password = pageContext.getRequest().getParameter("j_password");
      // HOW TO USE THESE 2 STRINGS FOR LOGING THE USER?
      return EVAL_PAGE;
    }I can do basic authenticaton (I'm using tomcat btw), it's fine but I need to do this because the client is a Flash and not an html page. Any help is welcome, thanks!

    maybe spit out some javascript which sets hidden variables j_username and j_password on the page and submits to /j_security_check?
    The important thing is that the special URL /j_security_check is what handles the authentication, and that's handled by the Web Container. Unless you can exactly duplicate what the Web Container is doing in your custom tag, it's probably best to stick with the standard authentication, or roll your own.

  • How to output a jbo tag from a Custom tag

    Someone else asked a similar question recently but I didn't see the answer.
    I have a custom tag and would like to output a jbo:UrlEvent tag. But the UrlEvent tag is not evaluated - it is treated as straight text.
    Is their a reasonable solution to this problem?

    Hi Peddi,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I checked again the .dbc file.
    I downloaded again the file from $INST_TOP/appl/fnd/12.0.0/secure to <JDEV_USER_HOME>\dbc_files\secure
    This file worked fine for JDeveloper for 12.2.3.
    I went again through "Oracle Application Framework Developer's Guide Release 12.2.4 July 2014" but could not find any part related to .dbc file having changed from previous release.
    I tried to comment out the parameter APPS_JDBC_URL in .dbc as per MOS note "Troubleshooting JDeveloper setup for Oracle Applications (Doc ID 357218.1)"
    But I still face the issue.
    According to the note "Configuring JDeveloper For Use With Oracle Applications 11i and R12 (Doc ID 330236.1)", I have added the following debug parameters in the project properties:
    -Djbo.debugoutput=console -Djbo.logging.trace.threshold=9 -Djbo.jdbc.driver.verbose=true -Djbo.jdbc.trace=true
    It generated the following OC4J server detailed log showing more error messages (in red below):

  • Login details when Webservice is called from Interactive Adobe form

    Hello Experts,
    Can you please suggest me the procedure to overcome the below issue.
    I am calling the Webservice from my interactive adobe form.
    When ever i click on the Submit button on my form, it is triggering the webservice but asking for the login details for authentication in the popup.
    In the real time scenario i will not be having any user id and passwords. So, I don't want this popup.
    What do i need to follow to get this done.

  • Jobs not getting Scheduled when it is called from RFC

    Hi Everyone,
    I have Functional module in system1 which in turn creates a background Job, but when i call this Function module from System2 using RFC then the background job is not created. THought i debugged and the Function module on system1 is called successfully with right input parameters. M i missing anything ? Please advice
    Regards,
    Nikesh Kumar

    Hi Chen,
    Thanks for the reply. Actually the main problem is not with how the Background job is getting executed. Actually my function module schedules are job in system1 , but if the same func module is called via RFC from other system, it gets called successfully with same inputs (checked in debugging), but the background job does not get created.

  • ActiveX can't create object when VB Script called from Labview

    I have an interesting issue that I can't find a solution for. I am using the DIAdem Run Script.VI in Labview to call a script that opens an Outlook object and sends an email. When the script is called via LabView I get this error:
    However, when I manually run the script from the DIAdem script tab it works as expected with no errors.
    This is the code:
    'Begin email send function
    Dim oOutlookApp
    Dim oOutlookMail
    Dim cnByValue : cnByValue = 1
    Dim cnMailItem : cnMailItem = 0
    ' Get Outlook Application Object
    Set oOutlookApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
    ' Create Mail Item
    Set oOutlookMail = oOutlookApp.CreateItem(cnMailItem)
    ' Set Mail Values
    With oOutlookMail
    .To = "[email protected]"
    .Subject = "Report: " & Data.Root.ActiveChannelGroup.Name & " for " & CurrDate
    .Body = "test automatic report emailing with VB Script."
    ' Add Attachement
    Call .Attachments.Add(strLocFileName, cnByValue, 1 )
    ' Send Mail
    Call .Send()
    End With
     (Original code includes Option Explicit and all variables are properly included/declared, I just took the snippet of what's causing the error).
    I have looked at the following threads for info already:
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/DIAdem/Some-errors-when-calling-LabVIEW-VIs-Interactively-from-DIAdem/td-p/2...
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/DIAdem/Active-X-component-cannot-create-object-Diadem-8-1/m-p/71212/highligh...
    -I tried running the script via Windows explorer (per Brad's suggestion) by itself without the DIAdem specific functions and it runs fine.
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/DIAdem/Error-while-runing-diadem-asynchronous-script-from-labview-on/m-p/111...
    -I am not running the scripts asynchronously
    Using Windows 7 (64bit), DIAdem 11.2 and LabView 7.1.1
    Thank you.

    Hey techerdone -
    I'm afraid I personally can't be of much help - I tested your code both from DIAdem and from LabVIEW and each worked without issues in both cases (Outlook closed, Outlook open).  I'm using DIAdem 2011 SP1, LabVIEW 2011, and Outlook 2007...
