Ios 7 wallpaper

Ages ago when I updated my iphone 5 to ios 7 we all had the issues with wallpapers not fitting right.  This was as to be "fixed" on iphone by adding a 200 pixel border around the image using something like photoshop.
My question is,  how much of a border shod I add to the image to make it look right on an ipad 4.

The iPad with Retina display (4th generation) has a screen size of 2048 by 1536 pixels. I think adding the same amount of border to those dimensions will be sufficient.
One more thing to consider though is that while the iPhone Home screen will not rotate the iPad screen does. So the image must fit in both orientations. You might try a square image pd 2248 x 2248 pixels.
I've also found that the Wallax app does a good job of modifying images to be used as wallpapers on I devices. I think it works a little better for iPhone images but it does a reasonable job for the iPad as well.

  • IOS 8 wallpaper size is now a problem again. How to fix?

Today I tried to change my wallpaper on my iPhone 6 and Apple does not make this an easy process. When I added the new picture to use as my wallpaper it automatically zoomed in really close on the picture. I guess this is the "perspective zoom" feature. Even with the perspective zoom turned off I can only zoom out slightly and a large portion of my picture is still cut off. After trying to fix this for the past hour I can't seem to find a good fix (and no, zooming out and taking a screen shot from farther away to use this new version of the picture DOES NOT work as listed in so many fixes on this forum. This only distorts the picture and still does not give me a workable size) I also refuse to download a 3rd party app that will "allegedly" fix this problem. I am looking for a solution from Apple whether this is simply a setting change somewhere or a bug they are working on fixing.
To make this worse when I gave up and tried to change it back to my previous wallpaper I can't get my previous picture to work anymore because it's automatically zoomed way in. So basically I'm not stuck with a weirdly close background that looks horrible.
    1. Is there a fix to this awful "perspective zoom" feature in IOS 8 where I can use the actual picture instead of a zoomed in version of the picture?
    OR
    2. Is there a way to revert back to my previous wallpaper before I tried to change it? (without restoring my iPhone)
Note: The previous wallpaper was inserted with a version of IOS 7 I was using before the update that apparently let you use an actual picture. I'm now running IOS 8 and can't figure out how to get this option to work correctly. In doing some research I see this was an issue with an early version of IOS 7 but Apple had apparently fixed it in a later version....The problem is now back with the early versions of IOS 8.

  • IOS 7: wallpaper scaling workaround

I have come up with the following workaround for the scaling issue of your personal wallpapers.
You need photo processing software on your computer for this.
That software should be able to crop and resize your photos, but above all be able to put a frame around your photos.
If you do not have software like this, download IrfanView or something similar.
I am not sure whether IrfanView exists for the Mac.
I have tried this on my iPad 2 in landscape orientation.
The iPad 2 has a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. For other resolutions, change the numbers accordingly in my instructions.
I have used IrfanView for this:
    1) open your favorite photo in IrfanView
    2) resize (Ctrl+R) the photo to 1024 x 768, if possible without preserving aspect ratio
    3) if you want to preserve aspect ratio, you will need to crop the photo to your personal liking
    4) add a plain black frame of 250 pixels around the photo (Ctrl+D)
    5) save this new photo on your computer in the folder that syncs with your iPad
    6) sync with your iPad in iTunes
    7) on your iPad in settings > Wallpapers & Brightness choose the new photo
    8) move the photo to the correct position
    9) tap the "Set ..." option of your choice
Until Apple publish a better method to scale the wallpaper, this workaround should work for many of us.

Had the same scaling problem on my iPad 2 with IOS 7.
Reported the issue to Apple by phone - it seemed new for the customer care agents....
    Found a solution:
Each photo to be used as homescreen or lock screen has to be resized into square format of 1424 x 1424 pixel (double on retina displays)
Resizing can  - for example - be done with the free online tool pixlr.com
After resizing the photo will fit as a wallpaper even if parallax is turned on.
It' so ridiculous that each photo for use as wallpaper has to be resized manually now!
Resizing wallpapers has been done automatically on each windows XP - PC for the last 15 years.
At least for the moment I found a solution,
    Regards,
    Fritz

  • Iphone 5 iOS 7 wallpaper

I updated my iphone 5 to ios 7 and changed my wallpaper not thinking that I couldn't get my old wallpaper from ios 6 back!  Does anyone know how I can get it back?  All of the ios 7 wallpapers look really generic to me.  Would doing a reset work?
Please let me know if you have any ideas!
    Thank you!

I you were using one of the IOS 6 wallpapers, you are out of luck, they are gone.  If you were using something from your camera roll or photostream, you can grab the picture again a set it as a wallpaper.

  • IOS 7 wallpaper pics

Hey guys I'm just wondering of any of you are having the same problem as me. When i go to set a wallpaper on my 4s it automatically zooms in on the pic so there is no black space on the edges. It also won't let me zoom out anymore than it is. I want to be able to zoom out on my pic so i can set the backround the way i want. does anyone have any awnsers?

Ok, I just found the solution Thank God
You see how with the new update the icons move as you tilt the phone to give you that "fancy" 3D look, well because of this the wallpaper gets distorted.
I turned this option off, and the wallpaper resizing issue went away
Here is how to turn that dumb 3D option off (which also drains your battery):
Navigate to the iOS 7 Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Reduce Motion -> ON
    Yep, that's all.
    Enjoy

  • IOS 8 Wallpaper resolution very low

Choose a photo taken from camera, which is very clear by itself, and set as wallpaper, then it becomes very muddy feels like a 3MB image shrank to a 50KB one.... Doesn't matter if enlarged or not when setting the wallpaper.... Very disappointing experience

  • How can I disable iOS 7 wallpaper zoom on my iPad 2?

Even when I reduce motion all my wallpapers are zoomed.

    Hello Amine01,
If you want disabled for that you have to go Settings-Wallpapers & Brightness- after you will see your lockscreen wallpaer and your home screen wallpaper, you need to tap on it, After you will see one option PERSPECTIVE ZOOM: ON , Just tap on it it will turn off.

  • IOS 7 Wallpaper changes blazingly slow

Trying to access the new built-in wallpapers is achingly slow. It literally takes 5 seconds to preview, and then another TEN SECONDS after I tap "set home screen" before anything happens. This happens even after I reboot the iPad.
This is happening on an iPad 3. On an iPad mini, it's about 2 seconds for the preview and 2 seconds for "set home screen." On an iPhone 5, it's almost instantaneous.
    Is there a fix?

It's been noted in several sources that loading wallpaper on devices from iPad 3 and earlier is slow.  I have iPad 3 and changing wallpaper is slow.  It's because of the new parallax processor and likely due to the fact that our chips are slower than the newer chips.  And let's also recognize the fact that the OS was designed with 64 bit processors in mind, not 32 bit processors.
So what do you do?  Nothing at this time.  You change wallpaper slowly.  It's not like you change wallpaper several times a day.
    Here's what it really means.
    1.  Select Wallpapers in Settings
    2.  Touch the Wallpaper you want.  Nothing will happen for several seconds. Just wait, it will move along.
    3.  Then when you can decide if you want both or one (Home and Lock) screen.  Make your choice and wait several seconds and the change will happen

Update put through itunes mode DFU. Problem is relevant only for those images that are screen resolution, which is available scaling. I also found the people who have the same problem including the iPhone. Explain to me what is the reason?

Sorry, I just realized I had "Increase Contrast" on under Accessibility settings. Solved my own problem. Feel free to delete or ignore this.
