IOS App 8.1.5 Remote Desktop can't connect to Windows 7 Pro after upgrade. Error 0x00000507

Nothing has changed between my network, Windows 7 computer or my iPad besides the upgrade of the ios app software to 8.1.5.  Did not used to have any issues connecting but now when I try to connect, I get the above error when logging in.
I have tried reinstalling the ios app with no success and also confirmed I can still remote desktop to the PC from another PC with the credentials I've always been using.
I've also tried explicitly including the domain when entering the username with no luck.  Looked through my Windows 7 event logs and can't find any more information on what this error means.
Has anyone seen anything similar or have any ideas what I can do to troubleshoot? Thanks!

Hi,
I have a same problem.
Although RD Client 8.1.4 worked great, now I cannot connect to Windows 7 Professional computer from my iPhone 5 (iOS 6.1.4) since the latest update.
Same as Twiggles, when I try to log in (just after entering username and password), the app gives me error code 0x507 "Disconnected from server".
Note that I connect to my PC over VPN using Cisco AnyConnect app.
After that, I've tried to connect to my PC in two different ways with same network settings as the above situation.
1. Use different remote app
I've tested free version of "PocketCloud" from Dell Wyse, and I CAN connect to my PC.
2. Use different version of iOS
I've tested the latest RD Client 8.1.5 on my another iPhone (5s) with iOS 8.1, and I CAN connect to my PC.
Therefore, I assume our 0x507 is not setting related, but probably some sort of iOS version dependent problem arise from the latest update.
Even though I tried PocketCloud, I believe RD Client is the BEST app for remote desktop for iOS.
I strongly hope this problem will be solved!
Thanks.

    Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi. (This is probably not practical in your situation.)
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.
If none of the above suggestions work, look at this link.

    Hi
when you are locally logon on server 1 rdp connection can connect with Full remote desktop,But 2 active Remote session can connect on server 2008 r2 at the sametime without RDP service role.
If you deploy remote desktop service role on the Server 2008 r2 it depends your current RDP licence.

  • Apple Remote Desktop Can't Connect to an Xserve running 10.5

I was upgrading an Xserve with dual G5 processors from OS-X serve10.4 to 10.5. I've got a keyboard and monitor plugged into the Xserve. Apple Remote Desktop v3.5 can't connect with the Xserve. File sharing on the server is checked to allow it. The ARD ports seem to be open on the server. .When ARD scans our network computers, the Xserve says Access Denied next to it. When I try to connect it says something like "Unable to Verify." Any ideas what the issue might be?
    Thanks

Well the File Sharing service would not have anything to do with remoting in.  Have you checked Remote Managed and checked to see if the accounts listed with access have everything checked off?
Did the local admin password of the server change?  Can you ping the server?

  • Can't connect to Samba shares after upgrading

    Hi,
I recently upgraded to Samba 3.6.0-8 (among other things, including a new kernel 3.0-ARCH), and all my shares have become unavailable from Windows 7. I can't connect to any, nor can I see the shares list. My Arch box has essentially become invisible as far as CIFS shares go. I can still ping it normally, and access it through SSH, so it doesn't seem to be a major network issue, this is specifically with Samba.
I have since tried changing my workgroup in Samba, downgrading to 3.6.0-{1,4}, disabling firewalls, changing Win7's security settings, and restarting several times, to no avail. Nothing has changed with my Windows box, I only performed a major upgrade to Arch (it is currently up-to-date).
I don't see any relevant errors in the Samba logs, and I can browse the shares just fine locally in Arch, I just can't see them from Windows.
    Anyone have a clue?
    Thanks,
    IM

Is your arch server configured to allow samba traffic? With the recent removal of hosts.allow and hosts.deny, I wonder if this could be the issue? Do you have ufw or iptables? I know you said you disabled the firewall, but it wasn't clear if that was on the client or server.
    Scott
edit: here's the ufw rule I use (/etc/ufw/applications.d/samba):
    [Samba]
title=Windows file and printer server for Unix
description=Tools to access a server's filespace and printers via SMB
    ports=137,138/udp|139,445/tcp

  • Help! Can no loner share Windows volumes after upgrade to 10.4.6!

Ever since I upgraded my Mac to 10.4.6, I've been unable to log-on to my Windows CPU's running Windows-XP. Everything has been working fine for about one year until this upgrade, but now I get the following error when I attempt to access a Windows volume:
"The alias "VOLUME NAME" could not be opened, because the original item could not be found"
If I attempt to log-on directly through CONNECT TO SERVER, I get an "error-50" code.
I've tried everything so far I can find in these forums to rectify the problem, but so far no luck.
The Windows CPU's can "talk" to each other just fine, so I don't think there's any issue with them.
    Anyone seen this before?
    Many thanks,
    Michael Buday

Hi eww. you're right... have tried 2 batteries in the PB but only way to tell for sure is to try em in another... might take me a while to track one down- will report back. could always be that the batteries are not seating properly but they seem ok to me. just think its weird that it happened like immediately on upgrade... strange!

  • TS1398 can not connect to wi-fi after upgrading to os6

Upgraded to OS6 on both Iphone 4s and Ipad2 and immediately can not connect to wi-fi. did all recommended fixes, ie. settings reset, power off and on etc... still no luck. My ipad is wi-fi only and doesn't do me any good if i can't connect.

If your wifi is greyed out do the following:
    1) Put your phone on a plastic bag and then in the fridge (not the freezer!).
Wait around 20 minutes to take it out.
    2) The moment you take it out reset your network settings.
When the phone turns on, your wifi wont be greyed out.
    But...
The problem you might have is that it wont pick up any networks at all. Which is my case.

  • Can't connect to itunes store after upgrading to ios 5.01

hi there.  after having recently upgraded my iphone 4 to ios 5.01, i cannot access the itunes store to update any of my previously installed apps or purchase any new apps.  i've already tried doing a soft reset (home button + sleep button) and have also restored my iphone to factory settings to no avail.  can anybody help?
    thanks.

I was able to connect to the iTunes store before the upgrade but after going to iTunes 10 I have not been able to. Whats going on?
Are you running any of Symantec's (Norton) or McAfee's Internet security products or anything similar, or an antivirus/antispyware application? Some such utilities treat an upgrade to iTunes as a new application and can block the application from connecting. So you have to go in and reset the utility to allow iTunes. The same thing can happen if you upgrade the security product (this has particularly been a problem with recent McAfee upgrades).
Check the settings for your utility. If iTunes is still listed, remove and re-enable the exception for iTunes. Consult your utility's documentation for the appropriate procedure. If you have Norton, you can find instructions for that utility on Symantec's web page for iTunes. You may also need to check the built-in Windows firewall as well.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't connect to SMB share after upgrade

Just upgraded to 10.9 Mavericks and can no longer connect to our SMB file share on the network.  Several of us have tried connecting to it on this machine and all we get is
There was a problem connecting to the server "xxxxxxx.domain.com".
You do not have permission to access this server.
    Anyone else having this problem?

I have been searching high and low since yesterday afternoon for an answer to this.  My problem is not connecting to an SMB share (well, it was, as the old Cmd+K to connect to the SMB share would close quickly) but instead of the old Mac way of using Cmd+K and the IP address, I simply clicked on the available NAS SMB share under Shared and it is a massively fast connection.  The old SMB connection would take minutes to open the next folder. So, connecting as you would under Windows helped fix that problem, BUT...
    1.  The NAS SMB share times out regularly and you have to eject & reconnect.  Annoying.
    2.  Worse than this is I can not open any documents on the share, only navigate it.  I have to copy paste the documents to my local ssd, manipulate, copy back.  Any new file I copy on, or edit and copy on, the NAS SMB share I can navigate to and open.  But if I try to click a pre-Mavericks existing file, I get "Can not open 'excel/word/acrobat.app' with the -36" error.  Total BS.
    3.  Even more weird, if I click spacebar on ANY file on the SMB Share it will pop up in preview.  Double click to open and error message.
    4.  If I copy a document attached to an email (Outlook 2011) to the server it is corrupt.  If I copy the file to local ssd, then to the NAS SMB, the same file works perfectly fine.
This is completely ridiculous and needs a fix immediately.  I'm going to try using Reinfire's link right now and see if that helps.
My NAS is a Netgear ReadyNAS 516 (linux/unix OS) I use in my office.  Computer is MBPr March 2013.

  • Can't connect to iTunes store after upgrade to iTunes 10.5

I've been trying to get this to work all day. I've done the whole uninstall in this order and reinstall several times to no avail. I've also tried the "netsh winsock reset" thing I saw on another question which also didn't work.
On top of this whenever I try to sync my ipod touch 4g with it, it says that the iPod touch timed out so it couldn't sync (tried to sync several times).
Then I tried to upgrade to iOS 5 (also tried several times) but all I get is a frozen iTunes or the it hangs up on the backup phase. Can someone please help me solve this?!
This is all I get when trying to connect to iTunes store:
(Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit by the way)

I was having the same problem earlier today, and what I ultimately did to solve the issue was:
Completely uninstall iTunes 10.5 by following http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925
Find my backup iTunes Library File (*.itl) from the previous version, and copy it to "iTunes Library.itl"
    See http://technicallyeasy.net/2009/03/restoring-a-previous-version-of-your-itunes-l ibrary/
Reinstall with the previous software, iTunes 10.4.1
The fact that the old 10.4.1 software works correctly in accessing the iTunes Store, and the new 10.5 software does not work correctly, suggests to me that there is some kind of bug in the iTunes 10.5 application itself. Hopefully the developers can figure it out. In the meantime, I'm happily working again on the previous version and will be planning to stay there until this mess has been cleared up.

  • Can't connect with wi-fi after upgrade to 10.9.5

    Hi all,
My elderly Dad's MacBook Pro, retina display (bought August 2013) is having terrible problems connecting to his router/modem. Wi-fi just doesn't exist for him anymore.
In fact, a message box pops up and tells him the network I set up for him (and which worked fine until his very recent upgrade to 10.9.5) "isn't available to join".
I read where others are also having bad wi-fi connection probs since upgrading to 10.9.5.
    1. So first question: Does anyone know how to solve this? I have Apple Care for the computer so I can call them. But wondered if a solution has already been circulated by our community here or by Apple.
    2. Second question: If no one knows of a solution, can anyone advise me on how to get rid of 10.9.5 and then reinstall 10.9.4? I've read several posts where people who have done that no longer have any wi-fi connectivity probs.
Thanks so much for any help.
    Liz

Please test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Take the applicable steps in this support article. The Wireless Diagnostics program generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
    Step 2
Disconnect all USB 3 devices. If you don't know which are USB 3, disconnect all USB devices except keyboard and mouse.
    Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. If you find that Wi-Fi works better with Bluetooth disabled, you should use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. Your router may not support it; in that case, you need a new router.
    Step 4
Open the Energy Saver pane in System Preferences and unlock the settings, if necessary. Select the Power Adapter  tab, if there is one. Uncheck the box marked
              Wake for Wi-Fi network access
    if it's checked.
    Step 5
Open the Network pane in System Preferences and make a note of your settings in the Wi-Fi service. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the various tabs in the preference pane. If the preference pane is locked, unlock it by clicking the padlock icon and entering your administrator password. Delete Wi-Fi from the service list on the left by selecting it and clicking the minus-sign button at the bottom. Then recreate the service by clicking the plus-sign button and following the prompts.
    Step 6
    In the Wi-Fi settings, select
              Advanced... ▹ TCP/IP ▹ Configure IPv6: Link-local
    Click OK and then Apply.
    Step 7
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 8
    Reset the PRAM.
    Step 9
Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
    Step 10
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

  • Error when uninstalling App-V RDS client: Product: Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) Client for Remote Desktop Services 5.0 Service Pack 2 x64 -- Error 1324. The folder path 'C:' contains an invalid character

Issue:  experienced when attempting to uninstall the App-V 5.0 SP2 RDS client.
Event Log:  Product: Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) Client for Remote Desktop Services 5.0 Service Pack 2 x64 -- Error 1324. The folder
path 'C:' contains an invalid character
Symptoms (when in this current state):
Unable to uninstall the SP2 client
You can upgrade the client (via hotfix) and uninstall the hotfix, but you will not be able to remove the SP2 client
AppvVfs filter driver will not create an instance, therefore applications will not be able to read into existing streamed VFS content, or trigger sparse files to stream content.  (you can still stream the content via other means, like the UI or powershell)
Because of the AppvVfs filter driver not instantiating, applications that depend on licences that exist in VFS will not be able to be read causing certain applications to react as if the license does not exist or is an incorrect format

    Resolution:
Check for the existence of a hidden folder named %appdata% in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Application Virtualization\Client folder.  (You will need to un-check the folder options box in windows explorer for "Hide
protected operating system files" to see it)
If the hidden %appdata% folder exists, delete it.
Proceed to uninstall the App-V client
After a clean uninstall and removal of remnants of the client, reinstall the client again and apply the latest hotfix available (Hotfix 2 for SP2 at a minimum).

  • Messages.app no longer connects to Jabber after App Store auto-installed Remote Desktop Update 3.8.2

Messages.app no longer connects to my company's Jabber server after App Store auto-installed Remote Desktop Update 3.8.2 (even though I never purchased that app). The Remote Desktop app can not be found anywhere on my machines.
I suspect the Remote Desktop update because Messages stopped connecting on my office MB Air after the update but still worked on my home iMac. Next day the iMac received the update and Messages stopped connecting on that machine too.
Messages attempts to connect for several minutes (it's been trying for 30 mins as I type this) and just hangs. Occasional I get the following error message:
Error: Messages lost the connection to the Jabber account 'account'. A network error occurred.
    I've tried:
    - Deleting and recreating the Jabber account in Messages.app
    - Toggling on/off SSL (SSL required by our server)
    - Toggling on/off auto detect server and port (port 5222 on our server)
    - Deleting every plist, cache, etc., I could find in the Library for any IM client I've ever used
    - Checked that Keychain trusts the Jabber server SSL certificate (it is a self signed cert)
    - Tried connecting from three completely different networks including the company VPN
    - Multiple PRAM resets
    - Setup a Google Talk account in Messages - works fine
    I'm at a loss...
    Kurt

I installed and setup Adium. Adium works but Messages.app still does not connect to Jabber.
