IOS & OSX Mt. Lion no longer synch for Pages documents

Pages on my mac no longer gets iOS-updated documents. Has cloud access been emasculated because of iWork in iCloud.com? Pages in ios and icloud.com works. Prior to Aug. 18, Pages on the Mac and ios worked just fine with cloud documants.

For iOS devices, tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Documents & Data off then back on.
For your Mac. Open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Documents & Data then reselect it.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

I can no longer send a Pages document. When I click Share my Send Via Email is grayed out. When I click on pdf or any format the pull down screen disappears and nothing happens. Why? I am using an iMac with Mountain Lion.

You can download a document from icloud.com/iwork to your Mac or Windows computer, edit it, and then drag the revised version to icloud.com/iwork. It’s then automatically updated on all of your iOS devices. You can also drag an iWork ’09 (Keynote, Pages, and Numbers) or Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) document created on your computer to icloud.com/iwork.
So it looks like it can go between iOS devices and your iMac.

Forgotten password for Pages document

I have forgotten my password for a Pages document. Is there any way I can open the document? Even with the hint I cannot get it right.

Do you perhaps have a backup copy of the document from prior to when you set the password? Have you checied your Keychain.app records to see if there might be an entry for this document?

After IOS 8 upgrade on phone, documents no longer synch in Pages. I find out subsequently that when I upgraded it gave me iCloud Drive, which won't synch unless my computer has OSX Yosemite, which isn't available. Apple says they can't get me back.

Apple upgraded me to a new IOS that has now eliminated my ability to synch Pages docs which I've been using quite successfully. So now every time work in pages it tells me that my documents won't synch and to "upgrade to OSX Yosemite." The problem: Yosemite IS NOT AVAILABLE yet. Will they let me go back to the old way until Yosemite is available? No they will not. I'm stuck with devices that won't work together. I recall no warning that by upgrading to IOS8 would mess up my ability to use my devices as intended -- that my devices would be less compatible. I feel duped and manipulated. And to clarify, I only updated on my phone. Once I saw (subsequent to update) that my synching of docs would no longer work, I decided not to upgrade my iPad mini. But guess what -- just updating my iPhone has now changed me to iCloud Drive and that means that all of my devices are incompatible.

That happened to me. I rebooted and now my docs are back again.

Can I download a copy of OSX Mountain Lion (which I paid for) from the App Store, to make a boot-able copy, from a Friends imac?

My MBP got screwy since Maverick install. I made a bootable copy on my machine of
Mountain Lion (or so I thought) with Diskmaker X. After moving all important files to an external drive,
I cleared HDD, and rebooted from thumb drive, with no success! This article gave me hope:

If so, the first thing I would do is to back up your data on the ill mac. I assume both macs have firewire port, get a cable and connect both macs via this cable. Then restart your ill mac by pressing T key after chime, it will become a simple external disk you should see on the desktop of your healthy mac. Back up your data.
Now, with this action accomplished, you may go on. BArney - 15E is optimistic and says how to restart in recovery mode—this may be possible if installation was complete for recovery partition (I doubt this, but I may be wrong).
Otherwise, I would reinstall from the scratch. If after connecting your ill mac via FW, you may see the disk in good order, you should also see the Lion installer within Applications folder. Copy it unto an external disk or flash disk and keep it safe, you will need it again.

HI, Idid a up grade of my osx mauntain lion and it cancelled all my document, bookmarks and mailboxes it is normal? I have lost a lot of data bacons of it because i did not do the back up of all my files just the back up of my photos. . .what can i do

Since a while I have received from apple the warning for an up grade for my Os x Mountain Lion and finally I decider to do it. . . . and since it was just an up grade I DIDN'T DO A BACK UP of all the content of my book pro because I thought it wasn't necessary . . . .but when I did it . . . . .it cancelled me all my files in documents, most of all my mail boxes in mail and most of my bookmarks in safari.
I do not understand why; since i did not change my os but just did an up grade of my existing one. . . . . .result I lost a lot of data and I do not know what to do.
Is this normal that it cancelled data in my documents folders and in others parts of my mac pro ?? ? ? . . . .ad if it is so why don't you write a warning saying that before going through with a simple up grade of your OS of your computer everybody should do a back up of everything it has in it ?!?!?!

Da qualche tempo mi era avvivato l'annuncio da vii di apple che c'era un ap grade per il mil system operative per il mio Os x mountain lion e alls fine ho deciso di faro . . . . .siccome era solo un au grade del systema operativo e non un cambiamento per un Os più recente non ho fat to un back up di tutti il contenuto del mio mac pro . . . .ma dope averlo fat to l'up grade ho realizzato che il procedimento mi aveva cancellato tutti i file contenuti nei midi document, le mailbox che avevo create in mail e i bookmarks che avevo create in safari . . . . . .e forse anche altre cose che non ho ancora visto.

Does Lion's Autosave work for Pages '08?

I recently upgraded to Lion and was looking forward to not having to save my work. However, when I write in Pages Autosave does not work. I have Pages '08 version 3.0.3. Is there anyway for me to turn on Autosaveing?

No. You need the latest version of Pages.

Template edits no longer prompting for page updating

I used to be able to update a template and then be prompted
to update all pages using that template. That stopped happening as
of yesterday. I'm using DW8. The only thing I have done, is the day
before, I removed DW-MX2004 from my computer. I can't find a
setting to turn this back on. HELP!

Here are seven common mistakes that will result in changes
not propagating
from Template to child -
1. Rename the Templates folder
2. Move the Templates folder to some other folder level in
the site other
than root level
3. Move a template out of the Templates folder.
4. Make changes to an editable region of the template (which
will not
propagate)
5. Assume that template changes can be uploaded to the server
without also
uploading the changed local files
6. Corrupt the site cache so that the link between template
and child page
is broken
7, Improperly create your child pages by simply opening the
template,
adding page specific content, and resaving the template with
an *.html
extension rather that its *.dwt extension. (you can tell if
this is the case
by looking at the code on a child page - if you see anything
like <!--
TemplateBeginEditable... then this is what you have done)
The 6th problem can be repaired by using SITE | Advanced >
Recreate Site
Cache, and the six others can be fixed by just not doing
them. Have you
done any of those?

After an OS X update combined and then a Pages update I am no longer able to access through Pages many of my documents; any ideas out there?

You have us just guessing without any details, but chances are you updated to Pages 5.5.2 and can no longer open Pages '08 or earlier files.
You need to either export the files from Pages '08 to Word .docx or .txt files and open those in Pages 5.5.2.
Apple has failed to maintain much backwards compatibility.
Usually the older versions will still be in your Applications/iWork folder.

Borders for pages document

I am trying to change the blue border on the school certificate. Where can I go for info on how to do this? I want to change the color as well as the design. It is so easy in Word to make neat borders for flyers but I am missing something in Pages. Feel pretty dumb!
Also am trying to make many borders like the one on the certificate. Where can I read up on how to do this?

The border on the Classic certificate is a .pdf file which is locked and which would need to be edited in a drawing program where these things are created:

Mostly in Pages you just drag and drop in graphics, a bit easier than in Word.

No QuickView for Pages documents?

I can't see it. Neither Coverflow shows the content nor QuickView is able to show it. How come? I thought Pages was an Apple product?

I am very disappointed that Leopard Quick Look cannot apparently handle documents or presentations from iWork 05. It seems ironic that I can have a Quick Look at my old Microsoft docs and Powerpoint files but not my old Apple ones.
Quick Look was one of the reasons I upgraded to Leopard so to find this major limitation is a real let down. I know that I can upgrade to iWork 08 but from the posts here it seems that if I then want QL to work on my older files I would have to open them and re-save them.
I would hope that Apple actually issue an update which will address this issue.

Download of update to OSX Mountain Lion

I was updating to OSX Mountain Lion, used my computer for something else and the download got interrupted.
How do I resume the download?

That is a point many users miss...even Apple has limited bandwidth when it comes time to release a major operating system and millions of users want to download at the same time...during the first two weeks one should expect delays and long, long download times.
It is getting to the point that suggesting downloading during "off hours" isn't even good advice...world-wide there is no such thing as an off hours time segment
I have a very fast f9ber optic carrier and download took around thirty minutes...another good reason to tell people to make a copy of the installer before doing the installation so you do not need to download again.

Bluetooth no longer works for incoming calls after recent update

When I updated my Bluetooth to iOS 6, the Bluetooth no longer works for incoming calls. I press button to answer call, it makes a small cracking noise, and then sends the call to my phone. I can use the Bluetooth for outgoing calls and it works just fine. I was hoping when I updated to iOS 6.0.1 that the problem would be fixed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Bluetooth but that has not helped either. I am frustrated. I have a LG HBM-905 Bluetooth that I loved prior to this problem.

Magically started working today after I synced.
