IPad 2 Wi - Fi 16 GB Black charging & restarting issue

I'm facing some problem in charging of my iPad 2 Wi - Fi 16 GB. it is not starting up without plugging the charger cable in a power outlet, and after a while when it opens up shows 81% charge and lasts for a mere 2.5 minutes and restarts.
It is not even starts when plug into a usb port of a PC or Laptop! just showing low battery ( red ) logo and apple logo, and keep on doing that. its only when I put the charging cable into it and attach the cable to a power outlet it show up apple logo then start up with start up tone , and every thing is ok for about 2.5 minutes and then suddenly it shuts down and restart...I have reset the tablet once within this 2.5 minute time frame but the problem remains, and if i pull out the charging cable from i-pad it does not even starts.
My question is whether it is repairable at home? is it a software or hardware related issue? if it needed service center care so how much it may cost ( i.e. Battery or charging socket / IC if required to be replaced?)

I'm sorry you have this error on your Ipad EMMIGOMAG.Did you attempt to shut it down completely? Is there any damage to the device? Are you having issues with any downloaded application? Keep us posted.

My ipad will not turn on and is charged.  I have also tried to reset my ipad by holding in the off/on button and the home button at the same time , but it did not work.  The screen flickered a couple times and then went black.  Is there anything else I can try?

Why does my iPad Air takes a long time to charge?

You need to provide more detail. What do you mean by "a long time?" Are you charging it plugged into a wall socket?

  • My iPad 3 seems to take forever to charge. It will easily take 6 hours plus to fully charge to 100%, it has always been like this so thought it was normal, however my friends point out it isn't. Does anyone else have similar charging times? Thanks, Claire

    Hi All,
I have had my iPad 3 since Feb 2012 and have always commented on it's slowness to charge. I was just wondering if it's meant to take 6 hours plus to charge to 100% or if this is a bit excessive?
As it has always done it, I have never really thought of it but a lot of my friends are now commenting that it's a really long time and it shouldn't take that long.
    Thanks,
    Claire

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Thank you for trying to help. I followed your instructions, it took 6 hours to download, and then said it could not solve the problem (something to do with error 9?). It will have to go back to Apple - its only 3 days since it came out of the package and its very disappointing for him. Looks like I have to hang around in the Apple store in Plymouth all tomorrow until they can fix it, or will change it. Thanks for your help.

  • IPad mini first gen screen sudden black and White lines

wondering  if anyone could help regarding my ipad screen. suddenly has white and black lines flashing across screen and will not stop. Already hard reset it and tried DFU mode but still no joy. Seems you've already tried the common fixes for these types of odd issues. My hunch is that if the procedures you've tried have done nothing, it may be hardware related and a possible trip to the Apple Store's Genius Bar would be your next move to get to the bottom of the issue. You'll need a reservation and your Apple ID:

    wuzradioman,
I was originally on your side in the discussion of batteries, however, after being contradicted by Meg St._Clair and others I took a leap of faith and took their advice with my Apple devices.  Much to my chagrin their advice has proven true.
Long story short I have not noticed any differences in my battery life by changing my charging habits to what is convienant over what is more in line with conventional battery myths.

  • Does apple make a black charging cable for a MacBook air?

    Hi All,
I'm looking for a black charging cable for my new MacBook Air. I realize that this sounds like a ridiculous request, but my cat has an affinity for white cords. Anyone know where I can find one?

    Bloody Cats,
I have  a similar problem unfortunately they don't, the Patent protection on Apple's Mag Safe tech is mostly likely why you can buy a non Apple one.

My iPad mini doesn't recharge when I plug it into my computer, in the top right corner it sais "NOT CHARGING" can anyone help me with this?

USB ports in most computers do not provide enough power to charge iPads, even minis.
It may stil charge, though very very slowly. however the "Not Charging"  label will not go away.
The best and really the only way to charge an iPad is using the provided 5W charger plugged into a wall socket.
