Ipad Air stuck in bootup
Howdy all,
I was playing with my Ipad the other day, and it started getting choppy on me (Taking forever to get out of, or start an app), so I decided to turn it off then back on, well, that's where my problem started. It would start up, going to the Apply Logo, then to the screen with the swirling lines in a circle, and then nothing. It just stays there.
So I plugged it into my laptop to perform a factory install, as the searches I've done said to do. So I did, following the instructions, but when I do that Itunes tells me that it can't do anything because it protected by a password, and I have to unlock the ipad before Itunes can do anything. Well, I can't do that since my Ipad is stuck in bootup. So how do I get around it so I can get my Ipad working again?
PS: Every so often it resets completely, going back to the Apply Logo, then back to what it's been doing.
Have you tried performing a reset? Try this first. Maybe this will allow the iPad boot properly.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with your iPad after attempting to install iOS 8. To troubleshoot, let’s go ahead and place your device into recovery mode and restore it with iTunes:

Hi! I tried to download an app from iTunes and from the App Store on my new iPad Air. After hitting "download" a pop-up screen appeared "Download Now," the name of the app, and "ok". I've hit ok but nothing happens. It's stuck. Help!
Try giving it a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds or so and see if it reboots.

My ipad air is stuck, especially when I am trying to exchange between interfaces, and it is stuck in games and safari. Besides, when i am trying to switch between interfaces, words on websites or games become vague. Is some one able to help me out?
Not sure what you mean by exchange between interfaces but a reset is always a good first thing to try.
Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem. -
Ipad air stuck at apple logo loading
Hello,
I've got an Ipad Air and I just tried to "Erase all content and setting". The device rebooted, and was stuck for a long time on the apple logo with the loading bar.
I then tried turning it off with the power+home button and got a icon telling me to connect the ipad to itunes.
After I did this, I had to update my ipad to the latest 8.1.2. I choose update, and all the while I had the apple logo loading. Now the update has finished according to itunes, but I still have the apple logo loading on the screen.
What should I do?Make sure that the progress bar hasn quit moving. It can move very slowly. If you are sure it is not moving, Try the reset again by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

IPad Air stuck in recovery mode!
Tried to update my iPad Air to iOS 8 this afternoon. Plugged into my brand new Macbook Air (about one month old), backed up to iTunes. Clicked to begin the update and install, left the room.
Came back to find the iPad Air in recovery mode (iTunes logo and lightning cable on the screen). iTunes reporting that it has detected an iPad in recovery mode and needs to restore. Since I have a backup already, I go ahead and click on Restore iPad, and then Restore and Update (my only option besides Cancel).
The progress window gets all the way to "Restoring iPad Software" and the progress bar starts to climb, but then I get the error message:
"The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9)."
I've repeated this process many times, usually the error occurs right at the beginning of the progress bar, but one time it almost got to the end before giving me the error message.
I read up on Error 9 and it says it may be something amiss with my security software. I have not installed any antivirus or firewall software. My firewall is off and always has been. Like I said, this is a pretty new Macbook Air, I've installed very few programs on it (Crashplan, Dropbox, Google Drive, Lightroom).
Any thoughts on what to do? It's completely frustrating. My iPad's been bricked. ;(Hi jzn_omg,

IPad Air stuck in recovery screen after update. No reset possible
Hello everyone,
I have searched the community for an answer but nothing fits really.
There are some threads regarding problems with the update to iOS 8.1 and screens stuck in recovery mode, but none of the suggested solutions work for me and I am really becoming desperate.
First of all, I backed up my iPad through iTunes (I have a PC).
Then I tried to update my iPad to IOS 8.1 through iTunes. During the update the message "an error has occured (3014)" appeared. I was prompted to set my iPad to recovery mode. So I clicked the butoon for this and after it was supposedly finished, the message "an error has occured (3014)" appeared.
So, i cannot update nor rest my iPad and the screen is stuck in "connected to iTunes" screen. I tried every possible reset (soft and hard) with no avail. I haven't used any thrird party software like tiny umbrella nor is my iPad jailbreaked or somesuch.
Please help me
Thanks in advance
LukeConnect your device to your computer, you will probably have to reset it there. You could then update it using your computer then try syncing everything back on to your device.

My ipad air stuck on restoring screen
please someone help figure out how to manually reset or reboot ? Iso 8.1
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary. -
My ipad air is stuck on the apple logo
I really need some help, because I was using my iPad today and all of a sudden it crashed went to blue screen and turned off. Then I managed to turn my ipad air on, and its stuck on the darn apple logo for ages (hours). I searched ways on google to recover it, and I tried to do the recovery mode thing with iTunes (which worked), but then it said this ipad could not be restored, an unknown error occurred (4005). So I'm really lost on what to do, because this has never happed to me before.
Hi PinkUnicorn95,
Try doing these steps:
1. Quit out of iTunes
2. Re-Start the computer, (I hope this is a Mac computer)
3. Connect your iPad again and open iTunes,
If these steps doesn't work:
Download apple Configurator. (This is a apple app, which is freely available in the app store)
Install this and connect your iPad,
Using the default settings, (Leaving supervision off) press configure.
(This will download the latest drivers and update your device)
When this is done, you can connect to iTunes and put a backup you have on the iPad
NOTE:
If your iPad is not been backed-up as the latest version, then make sure to select " don't update device" on apple Configurator.
Let me know how you go.
All the best,

My newsstand app is stuck on my iPad air
My newsstand app is stuck, with a window open, on my iPad air. When I click on "store", within the newstand app, it's frozen with a window open and I can't close it or chose any other function on that app. Anyone aware of what I should do?
If found info about double tapping the Home button. This brings up all open pages in each app ( or what appears to be that) Then figured out I could swish pages off the top of tablet to get rid of the page, not unlike deleting open Safari pages on an iPhone.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
Cheers, Tom
