Ipad as remotely controlled music server

I have an ipad and an iphone 4. During parties I'd love to plug my ipad into my stereo to act as a music server - and then remotely control with my iphone. Is this possible? If so, how?

You should look up the stereo to see if they offer an APP.
My RXV3900 Yamaha does have the APP for iPhone.
I just found it recently, so I haven't had a chance to play with it yet to review.
When the iPhone is in it's dock, attached to Yamaha and both rooms show the stereo's menu on those screens,
I can control all features on the iPhone. You have to see the TV screens to navigate the menu.
I have not tried this yet with the iPad.
The navigation is similar to Apple TV. I have an early model ATV.

  • Use iPad to remotely control iphone 4s for video capture

I want to use iPad3 to monitor and activate an iPhone 4s video function.  Possible?

I found the solution - APP called AIR BEAM - about $4  app store iTunes.  Be sure to view all the setting choices for how you want to use it as there are a few you will not need and will disable.  I did not need sound or motion sensing but did want to store on iPAD (choose transmit feature as clip will be on iPhone otherwise).

  • Remotely control the ITunes on Windows 7 64 bit PC with the new IPad

With the latest version of ITunes for both Win7 and the new IPad, I'm only able to use the new IPad to remotely control the ITunes on Windows 7 64 bit PC through wired connection  ( ethernet cable ) to the wireless router. As soon as I connect my PC through wireless connection, the new IPad can not find my libraries.
Is this a known issue or am I missing some settings?
    Thanks,

Are you using the 64 bit installer?

  • How to remotely control WebAS

    Hi,
I'm using NetWeaver 2004S, NewYork 711 and NewYork 720, I want to find a solution to remotely control the server, such as remotely re-start WebAS or a specified service, (these WebAS cover windows, Linux, and unix platforms), it would be better if just a command, and I onlyneed to provide the connection parameters.
I know there must be a solution, but I haven't idea how to do this, anyone can help me?
    thanks in advance!

    Hi,
maybe a standard webservice could help you, with this address :
    http://<hostname>:port+13/?wsdl
it provides several monitoring function, and also a "restart" one.
Also you can use the Visual Administrator to connect to a distant server, and reboot from here, also a SAP MMC can be used to reference differents servers.

it might be worth checking your TV settings to see if it has an option for different settings based on whether using the tv speakers or headphones.
Normally you should be able to control the sound via the tv.
Have you tried it without the headphones?

  • Itunes and ipad for music server?

what would be the best way to setup a music server for a restaurant? the back office machine(pc), will have all the music on it .. an ipad, connected to the back office pc via wireless network should be able to select playlists and songs ..

Download the iPad app 'Remote' - unfortunately although it's an Apple app they haven't iPad'ed it yet. Use iTunes on the Windows machine and use the iPad to connect. Job done.

There is not now, nor has there ever been a version of flash for any iOS device.
Adobe has abandoned mobile flash, so there never will be.
Browsers like iswifter or photon may work for you, but don't hold your breath.
Check app store for an app of whatever game you want.

  • How do I remote control a user in remote desktop services in Windows Server 2012?

    Hello,
we currently operate in a 2008 R2 environment with the majority of clients connecting to our terminal servers.  We use the remote control feature in terminal services manager to connect to a users session when a user phones our helpdesk with
    a question / issue.
Just today I've installed 2012 server on a hyper-v virtual machine to have a play with it.  I've installed the Remote Desktop Services and noticed this remote control feature is gone.  I can still log off or send a message to a user, but I can
no longer remote control their session.
I've seen one or two other posts stating this feature has been removed completely.
    So, a couple of questions:
    1. How on earth do I "shadow" or connect to a users session now?
    2. If I have to go third party to get this functionality back, what's the best software on the market for this and does it support remote connecting of users who have their RDP session span multiple monitors? (2008 R2 doesn't)
    3. Will Microsoft ever bring this feature back? as at this stage I doubt we would move to 2012.  This is the one feature that is crucial to the day-to-day running of our helpdesk.
    Cheers.

A large percentage of our IT support business is through remote management. Most of our large enterprise customers are Terminal Server environment (now called Remote Desktop - why does Microsoft have to change EVERYTHING - how would they feel if I changed
the colour of the sky from blue to red just because I could?).
Last week, after much expense to the customer (and realising that there WOULD be some cosmetic headaches to contend with Server Management) we installed a new "Remote Desktop Server" for them and shifting them from 2003 - a big leap so we discovered.
During deployment it came as a HORRIFIC surprise that we could not remote control user's sessions!
Yes, we ARE to blame for not fully realising the cock-up Microsoft has made for us. We should have fully researched every detail of what changes they made and what they have robbed us of.
Firstly, the removal of the ability to fully manage user's sessions came as a HUGE blow!
The remaining multiple issues that followed (including the hugely cumbersome and SLOW way of accessing user's sessions and the false information that the console was reporting users logged in when they had already logged out) suddenly resulted in us decommissioning
the new 2012 installation in favour of a 2008 R2 installation.
Some may ask; Why not use "Third Party" apps to counteract the issue? Firstly; why spend MORE and why use a third party app that "is as" cumbersome to use just because of a freaking feature that Microsoft deemed a "security risk" - for G.D sake!
We have now been directed by management to convince customers that a move to 2012 is NOT recommended - good choice boss, I love you!
The question is; will Microsoft re-implement this feature and fix Server Management performance/accessibility in a future release before 2008 R2 is no longer available? Probably not - it looks like their stubbornness to forge ahead with their craze mind-set
of transforming their products into something that is now annoying millions (including their bloody push towards everything-cloud which NONE of our customers want anything to do with).
Microsoft! Get us back on to your side and take a step back, take a deep breath and listen to consumers!

  • Remote Control *OF* an iPad???

    Hi,
The subject may be a little confusing -- I'm not looking for an app that can remote control a Mac or Windows desktop, nor one that can control a media center.
I have an iPad and I just bought one for my mother (so glad I talked her out of buying a Windows netbook). Although the learning curve is very easy to use the iPad, I still want to help her when she needs it.
Is there an app that can remotely connect to another iPad? If not, what about a Windows utility that can do it? I suppose if there is a VNC app for the iPad then I can use any freeware VNC client in Windows, like RealVNC or UltraVNC.
I'll continue to do my own search but if anyone can assist, that would be great as well.
    Thanks,
    Roland Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
The iPad dose about 80% of what a computer can do. I think this falls into the 20% the ipad currently can not do. But you could always send a suggestion to Apple. http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
I work around might to have her send screen shots; and email them. or if you have a desktop or portable computer you could have her video chat with you, and have her set the camera to point a the ipad.

  • HT1947 iPhone 5 remote control to ipad 2

I'm looking for an app to use my iPhone 5 as a remote control to the ipad 2. I have netflix on the ipad plugged into the tv and would like to control it from my iPhone. Does any app exist?

Thank you very much for your help MetaSolaray; this is most helpful ... I have followed your advice and was able to establish the following:
My kids can send messages to my iPad via iMessage, and they receive messages sent from my iPad ... so, all ok with respect to Apple devices in Canada!
It now has become apparent that messages sent by my wife from South Africa to my kids' iPhones are received randomly (i.e. not consistently), and still not delivering at all to my iPad.  What is interesting is that my wife is able to txt my eldest's Blackberry perfectly.  Does this mean that it is an iMessage/iDevice to iDevice issue?
My wife has not yet been able to get to a WiFi location, so all texts have been sent via cellular (data roaming is turned off on her iPhone).  We are hoping that soon she will be able to get to a location where she can hop onto a wireless network to test this further; but, I have to say, I find this highly frustrating as txt (pre-iMessage) seemed so reliable.  I will keep you posted ...
I really appreciate your kind assistance!

  • Is there any way to remotely control iPhone and iPad?

    Hi All,
I'am investigating a way to remotely control and solve basic problems of iPhone and iPad's. As an enterprise company we have over 2000 iPhones and iPads in our corporate and we want our help desk professionals be able to connect these type of mobiles and help staff over the phone.
Is there a way to achieve this situation and could you please share with related articles about this sceneraio.
    Thanks Already
    Ozkan from Istanbul

No. There is no way to do so. Apps would not have access to the necessary APIs to do so as it would create a serious security risk.
